Speaker 1 (00:01):
For the review.
Speaker 2 (00:06):
Glad you guys made it back safely from Atlanta. What's
the process for you guys, because you know us, we like,
you know, you go after the game and then you
get on the flight. But it's early. Did you guys
like fly back first thing in the morning? Do you
guys fly back?
Speaker 3 (00:20):
You drive?
Speaker 4 (00:23):
Drive?
Speaker 3 (00:24):
That's fair?
Speaker 2 (00:25):
Is that normal away game procedure? Like when you can't drive?
Like that's you guys next morning? No, I say, like,
you know you guys quick turnaround.
Speaker 3 (00:38):
I was just everyone arrested. Everyone good? Yeah, not that Yeah, Hey,
that's the business. You know. I feel for you from.
Speaker 2 (00:48):
Curry, Oh I I uh I someone sent me they
reposted on his story, So that was that was pretty cool.
Speaker 1 (00:58):
I mean, step you had Cam was talking about you.
Stroud was asked about you in his interviewing do you
do you feel the love? I mean you have to
feel the love or a lot of people.
Speaker 3 (01:09):
Out there who are moving for you. Definitely, definitely. I'm
I'm super grateful.
Speaker 2 (01:13):
Yeah, I'm super grateful all the love, all the support,
you know, like those you know Cam, like you said, obviously,
uh so much respect the legend here and you know
that that means a lot CJ. Yeah, that's I mean,
that's that's my brother's you know, the same I'm always
always rooting for him, so you know, we're you know,
just uh, I always appreciate it, like you know, just
(01:34):
that I'm I'm always the a fan of his two
in the same way. We're always uh, you know, I'm
always doing the same things checking on him. I I
love watching him ball and and super excited for him,
you know, going to playoffs a yain year or two, like,
you know.
Speaker 3 (01:47):
That's that's that's huge.
Speaker 2 (01:50):
So yeah, that stuff is I'm I'm super grateful for
that stuff. It's it's definitely a blessing.
Speaker 4 (01:54):
Right when when were you balked in a large group
with all the teammates you asked about you, Immediately everybody
smiles or shapes their heads or they're just like kind
of they're just so excited for you and what you
bring to be able to deliver that to your teammates.
Like how much does that mean if if you if
(02:15):
you're playing for.
Speaker 2 (02:15):
Them, Yeah, you know that that that that means a lot.
You know, again, this is a this is a team sport.
We all play for each other, and you know it's
the same way for me, just being able to go
in and and build as we are with the foundation
of guys we have here with this team. I've been
so so grateful to be a part of this team.
Speaker 3 (02:35):
And you know, I I'm the same way.
Speaker 2 (02:36):
I have all the confidence in the in the world
in them, you know, all the trust in them, and
just you know, knowing that you know, wearing this together,
we all are able to trust each other, leaning on
each other, uh, lean on each other and play for
each other.
Speaker 3 (02:47):
You know.
Speaker 2 (02:48):
It's it's it's a great, great, great thing about being here.
You s you're you're so with all and their personality.
Speaker 3 (02:56):
It it doesn't come out all the time for us
basically get on the practice the other team. So what
we saw when.
Speaker 2 (03:01):
You turned your back and over the past, the trouble
and the single touchdown before the ball even arrived, that
just seemed to come out of nowhere for us.
Speaker 3 (03:09):
So where did that come from? For you?
Speaker 2 (03:10):
I I don't know, Uh yeah, just uh, just a reaction,
I guess.
Speaker 3 (03:14):
But yeah, I don't know.
Speaker 2 (03:16):
I never thought about it or like planning on it
or anything like that. Like it didn't cross my mind.
It just just happened, right, So you mentioned that.
Speaker 4 (03:24):
You were clearly do you feel like sense of mudication
at all with with with how you come back from
being being benched in and played the second happens to you.
Speaker 2 (03:35):
You know, I don't know if if vindications were. I
always try to control our control and and just try
to be the best person myself every single day, and
I'm gonna continue to chase that.
Speaker 3 (03:43):
Again.
Speaker 2 (03:44):
This is you know, yesterday, I think just as a team,
what was a good day, for sure, But you know
there's a lot of stuff that you know, we we
we wanna get better at. We want to improve that
that we wanna work at, that I wanna work at,
And you know, every day I'm just gonna be just
just having the approach of of being grateful for opportunity,
you know, grateful for for God just just giving us
(04:04):
that chance, and then just have an attitude and want
to improve, wanting to get better. I want to embrace
the good and the bad and and grow from it.
And that was something that was a big theme for
this entire year, and it is definitely gonna be a
theme moving for it.
Speaker 1 (04:18):
In the off.
Speaker 3 (04:19):
Season, where you allow.
Speaker 1 (04:20):
Yourself to reflect.
Speaker 2 (04:22):
Yeah, yeah, for sure, you know, I think that's super important,
you know, when when that time comes, just to be
able to reflect on on the year, just so I
can grow grow as a as a person, as a player,
as a leader, as a teammate, everything, you know, I
think that's super important. Again, you know, God gives us
all this experiences, and you know I want to do
all I can honor that by learning from and reflecting
(04:44):
on it. So yeah, you know, it hasn't happened yet.
You know, we just got back from you know, the game.
It's like, hasn't been twenty four hours yet. So but eventually,
for sure there will be a time I'll sit down,
I'll watch every snap, I'll reflect on stuff on and
off the field, and you know that will definitely be
be part of the.
Speaker 3 (05:03):
Process in particular that you think you will carry out
of this year into the NAVS.
Speaker 2 (05:10):
Yeah, I mean, I think this was a great opportunity
one just being able to build you know, us having
this foundation obviously, you know, compared to last year. You know,
when you're going in and knowing you're your restarting and
things are different. It's a different approach, you know, and
this year knowing you know, you know who's you know,
you know what you're working towards.
Speaker 3 (05:29):
You know, I have a lot better idea what you have.
Speaker 2 (05:32):
You know, you never know obviously with the off season
holds and all that, but the foundation is there, so
being able to carry that out is is huge. And
and just being able to continue to build us as
a team, having having flashes know what we're capable of,
and now just the focus instead of finding it, being
on making consistent, making it the standard. You know, I
(05:52):
think it's a it's a lot better place to be right.
Speaker 4 (05:55):
The way this season played out, the times that feel
like two different seasons that.
Speaker 3 (06:01):
For you personally, yeah, I wouldn't say so.
Speaker 2 (06:05):
You know, obviously you can point to a certain times
where things obviously change, but for me on a day
to day, there wasn't really anything that that changed.
Speaker 3 (06:14):
You know.
Speaker 2 (06:15):
Again, I'm super blessed, super grateful for the opportunities that
I've had, and you know, for for for certain things
uh that I I guess you know you can see
from the public eye, but for me, my my big
thing was just trying to be consistent whether I was
playing or not, whether it's a good day or a
bad uh good game or a bad game, whatever it
may be. So for me, it was it was really
(06:36):
just the emphasis on everything being the same, everything being consistent,
trying to learn and grow, but not trying to let
something outside dictate you know, how I how I operate,
how I move on a day to day basis. So
really I think that was it was more consistency than
anything you.
Speaker 1 (06:52):
Played with so much really the last part of the seasons.
That's something you had to to kind of rediscover. And
what has it been like to be able to.
Speaker 3 (06:59):
Express Yeah, you know, it's been great.
Speaker 2 (07:03):
Just really I just learning kind of what it brings
I think for for others, you know, I want to
again as being a leader. Uh, I want to do
whatever it is that that's best for the team. And
you know, I think honestly, you know, there's always been
comments of outside of how things look like. You know,
it's great to see this. And then again, I'm super
grateful for all the support that I receive. But I
(07:25):
always value my the people that I work with. I
value my coach, I value my teammates. If what they
say and when they've said stuff like that and they've talked, oh,
when you know you're doing X, Y Z or you're
you're you're running around, You're you're smiling. It makes us,
you know, it makes us feel good, It makes us
have confidence, it gives us that.
Speaker 3 (07:42):
That's what resonates for me.
Speaker 2 (07:44):
And again, as a leader, it's my job to do
whatever it is that it gives our team the best
chance to to to you know, to win and have success,
and you know, rally troops and make sure that we're
playing our best. And I think that's been Honestly, the
biggest takeaway of everything is just kind of I guess
the power that can have to bring others around me.
Speaker 4 (08:02):
Along those lines, how much of a role did you
play and you had a.
Speaker 2 (08:07):
Realization Yeah, I mean huge. Again, Me and you are
are super close from when I first got here, just
being able to talk with him through things, you know,
him having perspective on on a situation that I had
never been a part of. You know, I was always
leaning on him, always having conversations, and just from a
day to day basis. You know, we we spend you know,
(08:27):
you can't add up the hours we spend here, but
we're here every single day. And just being able to
have someone that you can bounce stuff off of, you know,
ask how how you're seeing things ask again, whether it's
x's and o's, or it's philosophical things or stuff outside
of football or uh, somewhere nuanced in between. He is
always there, you know, just just trying to help me out.
(08:50):
And again having having a guy like that and and
who really does it for the right reasons and wants to.
Speaker 3 (08:56):
Help that's that's super rare. So I'm super grateful for that.
Speaker 1 (09:00):
Diferens between you know, the last week and the season
last year, you know what up a point on offense
Dave Canouns is on the other sideline to the last
week of season this year, going out the way y'all
did and one of the highest scoring games you've had.
Speaker 2 (09:10):
Yeah, you know, definitely definitely super grateful just for for
us as a team to finish the way that we did.
That was something that again that that that means something,
that's something that now we have to do the work
to make sure, you know, we capitalize all that, but
it's something to build off of it. It's something just
organizationally that that meant a lot. So you know that
part is that part is huge, and uh then again
(09:32):
we you know, doing our our exit means and all that.
It's it's so different, and it's it's good just feeling
that that building versus again like all right, this was it.
It's the end of the road, you know, restart now,
it's all right, you know, this is where we're building.
This is where we can still get better, So we
can still improve, but this is the vision and we've
already seen part of it come to fruition.
Speaker 3 (09:52):
Now how can we take the next step? How can
we get better?
Speaker 2 (09:55):
And just being at that standpoint and yesterday, I think
is something that really capped that off is definitely definitely
a blessing.
Speaker 4 (10:04):
Game to talking about next season. Just how how excited
are you to.
Speaker 2 (10:09):
Continue to like, yeah, no, I'm I'm I'm super excited.
Speaker 3 (10:14):
You you can feel that in the locker room, which
is huge.
Speaker 2 (10:16):
Again, we're we're we're you know, the the off season
is what it is. You know, obviously we're all going
to take time to decompress and and get away for
a second so that when we come back we can
be at our best. But we're all eager to get
to that point. You know. I think we we all
feel like there's you know, we feel like, you know,
there's so much to get better at and so much
to improvement. But we we believe in each other, you know,
(10:36):
we we we know we're capable of Again, We've had
so many moments where you know, we've looked around and
you know, Coach can Alice talks about it all the
time of just trying to find moments that are that's
us and find our ball and I think we've again
we found it at times and now we just again
just being able to have that.
Speaker 3 (10:54):
Uh.
Speaker 2 (10:54):
Now we have to do the work to make sure
we can make that our standard, make sure we're consistent
in that, and you know, we're excited for that challenge,
gonna take work. It's gonna you know, there's gonna be adversity,
It's it's gonna be you know, they're there are steps
that need to be taken in I'm super grateful just
to be a part of the team that that acknowledges
that and and wants to do that work, wants to
make a step and uh has that competitive uh competitiveness
about that.
Speaker 4 (11:13):
You don't thing will resign or how much you do
you hope that he does.
Speaker 2 (11:17):
Yeah, that one's definitely above my pre grade. But I'm
I a hundred percent hope he's hope he's around again.
We're super close. I love having him around, someone who's
been super helpful. Uh, since I've stepped foot in in
the NFL again, on and off the field. I'm I'm
super grateful that he's been part of the room. I
I I genuinely I s definitely hope he's he he's
(11:37):
still here again. Those definitely aren't my my decisions. Uh,
but uh yeah, I'm I I've I've always loved being
a semn.
Speaker 3 (11:44):
I I hope it it's able to say that way.
Speaker 4 (11:48):
Thought about the time you spent on the sideline, whether
it's something that happened to you or for you as someone.
Speaker 1 (11:54):
Who lived in how do you do?
Speaker 3 (11:56):
Uh?
Speaker 2 (11:56):
I I'm a big believer that everything happens for you,
you know.
Speaker 3 (11:59):
Uh uh especially big picture of stuff.
Speaker 1 (12:02):
Uh.
Speaker 2 (12:02):
I'm a believer that that God, God, you know, handles
all that and God doesn't make mistakes. And you know, uh,
just because something that is difficult, whether you agree with
it or not, or you enjoy it or not, you know,
I I want to do everything I can to make
the choice to to make it beneficial, make it something
I can grow from, and just just leaning and trust
in God. In and you know what it is again,
(12:24):
you know, God does everything for a reason. I'm a
firm believer that, So you know, I don't think there's
anything that I will point at in my life that
I don't I don't think happened for a reason. So
I definitely held onto that, still hold onto that, and
again for all experiences good and bad.
Speaker 3 (12:39):
Uh.
Speaker 2 (12:39):
Whether I understand it now, I've never understood it. Uh,
I I don't get it till later, whatever it may be.
I'm I'm I'm always grateful for whatever you know, God
has planned for my life.
Speaker 3 (12:48):
Right week to week.
Speaker 4 (12:51):
People would dig canalys you know, business pressure on the
franchise quarterback here and you would always go, you know,
it's a week.
Speaker 1 (12:58):
The week thing.
Speaker 4 (12:59):
But now that that's that attitude used to change, howard rewarding?
Speaker 1 (13:03):
Is that for you that you kind of held back
and and kind of group showing this organization that you can.
Speaker 3 (13:08):
Be franchise school that.
Speaker 2 (13:10):
Yeah, No, I'm I'm super super grateful, you know, just
just super grateful for that. You know, always just wanted
to instill belief in the team again as a leader,
just learning in this lead just the power of of
what that brings, power belief power of wanting to to
to play for something, to be able to rally people.
That was again definitely a learning process and anything that
(13:33):
I can do and and you know, just building that
and instilling that is definitely something I take take pride
in again just for us and our growth and our development.
So I'm grateful for that. I'm gonna continue to keep working,
continue to to wanna uh keep improving, keep uh perfecting
my craft. But I'm I'm grateful to be doing it.
I adhere with the people that are here.
Speaker 4 (13:54):
In terms of expanding on that, Coach Canalis for sure,
and Coach Hies and Loans had to make some tough decisions.
Speaker 1 (13:59):
What did he mean you personally this year and you've
taken this year as.
Speaker 3 (14:03):
Your head coach. Yeah.
Speaker 2 (14:04):
I I've always respected so much to consistency that he's
had on a day to day basis. Coach Canalys has
come in every single day and has been the exact
same person through those ups and downs. And that's not
easy to do, especially in his position, having to, you know,
hear so many things, having to account for so much,
having to make so many decisions, having to be held
responsible at such a high level, and regardless of what's
(14:25):
been going again, good or bad, He's come in every
single day and been himself. He's been authentic, he's been uh,
you know, he's been who he is. He's been consistent.
And you know, I respect that a lot personally, but
also as a leader of you know, this organization. Him
being able to show up in front of the team
every day and have the exact same mindset, speak the
same way. That sets the tone for us as a team, knowing,
(14:46):
no matter good bad, you know, coaches here, ready to
work and it's gonna be the same guy. And you know,
you look in the mirror and you say, all right,
well he's here in front of the team on that
first team meeting on Monday or Wednesday whenever, and.
Speaker 3 (14:59):
He's saying, you know, it's let's get back to work.
It's all right, Well that's what we need to be doing.
Speaker 2 (15:04):
So you know that that's something that personally and as
a team has been huge.
Speaker 3 (15:08):
And I have a ton of respect for it.
Speaker 2 (15:09):
In that building.
Speaker 4 (15:10):
I mean, you know, thinking so many of those guys
up front are going to be back next year. How
much farther ahead does that push you.
Speaker 3 (15:19):
In the next year?
Speaker 2 (15:20):
No, that that's huge everyone up front. I mean just
I'm so so grateful to to be able to to
play with those guys, guys that work so hard, have
been balling all year, you know, just just seeing again
seeing the work they put in, the the the culture
they've they've continued to grow and building that that room
and you know, knowing that you know again a lot
(15:42):
of that is coming back.
Speaker 3 (15:42):
And I don't so I don't.
Speaker 2 (15:44):
I'm not like up on all the GM stuff, so
I don't know like all the like specifics of it sucks,
this business part of like everyone moving, but like knowing,
like you said, those main piece of all that is
going to be back for me, Like that's that's huge again,
just just having that that trust, knowing you know what
that's gonna be.
Speaker 3 (16:01):
Like, I definitely don't don't take that for granted. It's amazing.
Speaker 1 (16:06):
Time said, did was yesterday the most fun that you've
had on the as a Carolina Panther?
Speaker 3 (16:12):
Uh?
Speaker 2 (16:13):
I don't know, Uh I yeah, I don't know. I
feel like I've I've had fun. Yesterday was up there,
like we won, so that was like it evens it
out with the other wins.
Speaker 3 (16:23):
I guess.
Speaker 2 (16:24):
But yeah, like I know like genuinely, Like for me,
like the the most happy I feel is like in
the locker room after all win and like it doesn't
matter how it looked, It doesn't matter how it came,
Like it doesn't matter like the stat line or whatever
behind it, Like we have more points to other team
in the end. Like that's when I'm at the happiest,
Like you know, we that's what we you know, that's.
Speaker 3 (16:46):
What we work so hard for. That's we all and
being able.
Speaker 2 (16:49):
To be in the locker room with however many guys
are in there and you see them put their whole.
They're they're all in that week and they've been putting
their all in that whole year. Everyone happy, everyone's celebrating,
you know, everyone's smile. That's like the most happiness I've had.
And yeah, we definitely got to experience that yesterday, which
is which is.
Speaker 1 (17:06):
A blessings on the road as a as a player.
Speaker 2 (17:11):
First win on the road, I mean, low key, like
I guess I did realize that and I was like, dang,
first win on the road, like took a second, but like,
uh yeah, it was cool. I guess I appreciate it, Like,
you know, got one off the board.
Speaker 3 (17:24):
I guess so Ki info you get.
Speaker 1 (17:27):
The Saints and Falcons and just kind of the history
of the rivalry between them and this franchise.
Speaker 3 (17:33):
No, I think it's it.
Speaker 2 (17:34):
It's it's just it's cool, honestly, like playing the same
team multiple times, like again different from like college and
before that, Like you know, now there's teams I played
like four times in two years.
Speaker 3 (17:45):
Uh you know you're playing same team alt.
Speaker 2 (17:47):
So I think it's just it's cool, especially those those
second games where it's like, you know it, it turns
into chests because you you already played each other and
you see what worked and what doesn't work. But then
they know what worked and what doesn't work, so like
you you're playing that little cap mount Us game. So
I think the visional games, it's like, it's it's a cool. Yeah,
it's it's just a cool experience to be able to
(18:07):
have those those type of those type of matchups you
get familiar with the guys. So yeah, it's uh, yeah,
it's been.
Speaker 3 (18:15):
It's been great.
Speaker 1 (18:17):
Warship is so important, especially when he would play caller
and they've made the decision after two weeks to to sit.
Speaker 2 (18:25):
You for a while.
Speaker 3 (18:25):
How is your relationship right now.
Speaker 4 (18:27):
And how is it, how's it growing in.
Speaker 3 (18:28):
Your first year together? Yeah, no, it's it's great. Again,
I I I trust him.
Speaker 2 (18:32):
I'm super grateful for uh, just for him again, what
he means, uh, for a team, what he means for
the room, what he's what he's meant for me, uh,
my development. You know again, he's he's always in the
room with us and uh, you know, just through talking
through a bunch of things. So being able to pick
his brain has been uh has been great. It's been
super influential for me just being able to learn. And
(18:53):
again I have a lot of respect frohim personally. Again,
just the consistency that he brings him, being able to
be himself no matter what. And you know, he's you know,
his name's up there a lot when things go well
and when things go bad, like you know, that's you
know a lot of times who you know that who
has to answer for everything as talking you know, I kind.
Speaker 3 (19:11):
Of relate to that. So I have a lot of
respect for how we handle that. And again just I'm
great for having around. Yeah.
Speaker 2 (19:20):
Uh, and we're always in the same room. So it's
a good relationship. So I'm I'm I'm super excited to
continue building with with him in the future.
Speaker 4 (19:31):
What do you want fans to know about this team
as it stands today and what should they expect.
Speaker 1 (19:35):
You guys are back.
Speaker 2 (19:36):
Yeah, just the resilience that this team had, you know, again,
ups and downs. We no matter what we were fighting,
We're always looking to finish. We're always looking, you know,
to to want to be there, to play harder. And
again there's stuff that you know, maybe didn't always go perfect,
but you know there this is a team that that
didn't quit that again, was was always super resilient and
(19:58):
that's something that we probably ourselves in again. Moving forward,
we have tons of work to do, you know, the
off season. We have to get bears, a lot of
stuff for us to prove on. But it's a group
that wants to do that, that that's excited to grow,
excited to you know, to get better and to continue
to keep building. So and thank you guys, Appreciate all
the fans for all the support.
Speaker 3 (20:19):
We're super grateful. End of the year. Appreciate you guys too.
Speaker 2 (20:22):
I guess now that we're here, thank you guys for
