Speaker 1 (00:00):
We pon the review.
Speaker 2 (00:06):
What do you want to get out of that?
Speaker 1 (00:08):
It's just another opportunity, uh, you know, just to get
better work my craft, you know, just kind of put
everything together that I've been working.
Speaker 2 (00:15):
On this camp and just you know, go out on
a strong.
Speaker 3 (00:17):
Note channel And looked like that first scrum started after
Nick took you to the ground at least in part.
Were you surprised that you know that that happened and
like we piss you off?
Speaker 1 (00:30):
I guess, I mean it's practice. I'm just going to
leave it at practice. I got no comment on it.
Speaker 3 (00:35):
Thinking like people, not just you, but a lot of
guys still after practice were little, you know, tempers flaring,
and Davis said and maybe he took y'all to the
edge and maybe over the edge with getting y'all fired
up beforehand? Was some of that good? Do you think
some of that edginess was needed?
Speaker 1 (00:54):
I mean, I think you want your team to go
out and practice hard, and I think that the.
Speaker 2 (01:00):
Practice should be harder than the game.
Speaker 1 (01:02):
And if you know players are gonna fly, you know
tempers are gonna fly.
Speaker 2 (01:05):
So it is what it is. You know, Perkins, the
last two days he good player.
Speaker 1 (01:12):
I mean he's you know, just he's brand new to
the team, so he's still figuring everything out. But I
mean he's got a strong arm, smart player, very nice
plait guy.
Speaker 2 (01:21):
As soon as he came into the huddle, he said,
what's up to all of us? So he's a good dude.
Speaker 4 (01:25):
He didn't know whose idea was to for the offense
to run come in the middle of that team portion,
Who where did that idea come from?
Speaker 3 (01:32):
And for what less?
Speaker 2 (01:33):
I don't know. I was just following instructions. What have you?
Speaker 4 (01:38):
How have you improved from a special team standpoint this
year that maybe I mean like from last year to
this year.
Speaker 2 (01:44):
Uh yeah, I mean I think just buying in a
little bit more.
Speaker 1 (01:47):
Coming out of college, you know, you want to be
a receiver, you want to be a starter and all
that stuff. So I think, uh, I didn't take it
as seriously. So then to come into this year, you know,
bigger room. You know, I got to make an impact
in a different way. So really buying this secial teams,
become a better blocker, you know, all around, just just
a better athlete. So that's kind of how I've taken it.
Speaker 4 (02:08):
Is there a guy everybody's talked about like your physical
transformation too. Is there like a guy who kind of
taught you how to eat and prepare like a pro
in that wide receiver room.
Speaker 1 (02:18):
I mean, everyone has given me their own advice and tips,
and I think just the staff here has helped me
a lot to kind of hone in on what works
best for me.
Speaker 2 (02:26):
So no one in particular, Well do.
Speaker 5 (02:27):
You want to You said you want to be a
receiver and all that, but now the special team side
of things. It hard to keep the balance of working
on the receiver part of your craft and the additional
work you're putting in on special teams. I mean that
it seems like they're two entirely different endeavors there.
Speaker 1 (02:43):
Yeah, I mean they're different, but I mean you can
find similarities in between for all of them. So I
think if you want to be great, you know you're
going to find a way to balance them both.
Speaker 2 (02:51):
And that's what I'm trying to do.
Speaker 6 (02:53):
The offensive struggle for the first two preseason games with
the start, even with the starters out, How important is
therefore offense to get a little rhythm going into the
rigdo season.
Speaker 1 (03:04):
Yeah, I mean, I think we're gonna play our brand
of football so you know, we're gonna have Jack out
there and you know, the me and the receivers. So
I mean, we're gonna have to make plays when they
come to us. And it starts with you know, start
running the ball and us catching the football when it
comes to us. So we just got to get that
ball rolling early.
Speaker 3 (03:21):
Feeling health wise, as Dave said, you're a pretty high
favor last week.
Speaker 2 (03:25):
Yeah, feeling good, much better, much better.
Speaker 1 (03:28):
Jalen Brice had a deep touchdown to you today down
the left sideline. You know, we're kind of far away,
promised we couldn't see it.
Speaker 5 (03:34):
Can you just kind of take us through that play
and what we're there?
Speaker 1 (03:37):
Yeah, I was running out the nickel buzzed out, the
corner went over the top, so I was able to
kind of take advantage of that free access space back there,
and Bryce put it on the money.
Speaker 4 (03:48):
His accuracy has been kind of hard to miss this
this summer. How do you think he's improved, maybe from
working with him last year to this year.
Speaker 1 (03:57):
Yeah, I mean I think he just gets better and
better every year. I think it's just it's awesome to
be able to play out there with him and uh,
you know, learn from him and catch footballs from him.
Speaker 5 (04:07):
Oh, you're embracing the pressure of this wide receiver room
because it is loaded and there will be some tough
decisions come.
Speaker 2 (04:14):
Yeah. Yeah.
Speaker 1 (04:15):
I mean I can just control what I can and
what I can control is coming out to practice every
day and work and put good things on film. So
that's that's how I look at I try not to
overthink too many things because that'll just clutter out my
mind and just got to keep the keep the right path.
Speaker 5 (04:30):
Think about the year you got last year and the
contributions you made, and like make okay, I didn't have
a leg up on some of the new faces, but
ordered that not even enter into it.
Speaker 1 (04:40):
I mean, I think I think it's easy to uh
kind of fall into that and be like, you know,
I've kind of proven myself. But I try not to
think about that because it's a new year every year,
and they're you know, everyone in the legal say it.
I mean, they're trying to replace you every single year.
So if I can't, if I don't get any better,
then I'm getting worse. So I'm going to continue to
uh work hard and improve myself again and again and
(05:01):
again and again. And however, many times it takes.
Speaker 3 (05:04):
Do you think your past catching ability and kind of
catching balls at the point, you know, at the peak
really sets you apart in this competition?
Speaker 1 (05:15):
Uh, I mean, I think it's definitely a good attribute
of mine. I think a lot of guys have that skill,
and I think that's why it's so challenging. We've got
a lot of guys that can make a lot of
good plays and have a you know, good ability to
catch the ball, good range, good speed. So I mean
it's just the little things that I'm trying to, you know, Tonto,
you know, be better and you know, show up.
