Speaker 1 (00:00):
We Plum for the review.
Speaker 2 (00:06):
What's up, Jimmy, Alex Zettlow of the Charlotte Observer, the
local newspaper here. I hope you're doing well man. Congratulations
as well. I wanted to ask about your return returner experience. Uh,
do you know a lot about the the NFL kick
(00:27):
returning rule that was changed last year? And if so,
what do you think about it?
Speaker 3 (00:33):
I know I know a little some about it. I've
been throughout the process. Coaches were telling me to just
watch film on a studied game more so I could
get a better feel for it.
Speaker 4 (00:43):
I ain't got it all the way figured out yet,
but I like it. It looked pretty easy, so you know,
I love to retire back though. I'm just ready.
Speaker 2 (00:51):
When you say it looks pretty easy. What do you
mean just from that it's pretty simple, Will?
Speaker 3 (00:57):
I won't say it's just simple, but I'm like the
standpoint out of view it. If I get a good
gap that I know I can hit it through, I
know it's a good possibility of seeing them seen.
Speaker 4 (01:09):
What about right?
Speaker 2 (01:14):
Absolutely? And final question for me, Jimmy, what is there
like a part of your game that you think is
perhaps a misconception that you are looking forward to prove, uh,
differently at the at the NFL level, Like, is there
any part of your game that you want to prove
in the NFL.
Speaker 4 (01:35):
Yeah, it's a lot of part of my games that
I want to improve.
Speaker 3 (01:38):
Like, I feel like there's always loom to improve everywhere
in my game, so it's always something to work on.
I don't never want to be satisfied, so and that
could be for everything.
Speaker 2 (01:50):
Yeah, for sure, I misspoke. I didn't mean improve. I
more so meant like, is there a part of your
game that a lot of people are sleeping on that
you want to say, Hey, you know I can actually
do this? Uh.
Speaker 3 (02:05):
I just want to show more versatility, you know, or
what I could be using that thing and how I
can do things.
Speaker 4 (02:12):
But it's just it's just work.
Speaker 3 (02:13):
I'll put on put in and not a shoe, got you, thanks, man, Yes, sir, all.
Speaker 4 (02:21):
Right, we will go to Cassidy followed by Joe Cassidy.
Speaker 5 (02:30):
We can't hear you, Nope, okay, we'll.
Speaker 1 (02:39):
Come back to you.
Speaker 2 (02:40):
Go ahead, Joe, and then.
Speaker 1 (02:41):
I will go with Jeff Jimmy.
Speaker 4 (02:44):
Congrats, man, Yes, sir, appreciate it.
Speaker 1 (02:47):
Man, Yes, sir, I have to ask you what you
thought of your boys, Shador having to sit in to
the fifth round before he got drafted, and what did
you make of him his slide?
Speaker 2 (03:02):
So to speak.
Speaker 4 (03:06):
I knew everything happens for a reason in life, you know.
Speaker 3 (03:09):
I feel like God got a plan for everything, so
I just leave it out to God, you know. That's
how I look at that situation. I you know, and
I feel like he's gonna have a great season ahead
of him.
Speaker 1 (03:21):
No, you you played with him of course the last
year or two. Did did he seem like a fifth
round quarterback to you?
Speaker 2 (03:34):
Nah?
Speaker 4 (03:35):
He didn't. He didn't, But no tweet his own man.
Speaker 1 (03:41):
Hey, following up on on Alex's question, Uh, just did
you in the pre draft process talk to the Panthers
at all about uh, you know, having a chance to
return for them or just those skills making you more valuable?
Speaker 2 (04:00):
Yeah?
Speaker 3 (04:01):
I had talks with them, but you know, I really
don't want to speak on what they talked to me
about and stuff like that, so I'm just ready to
go down work.
Speaker 1 (04:12):
Well, let me rephrase the question. Do you feel like
that that those return skills could you know, make the
difference for you and kind of help set you apart?
Once you get here.
Speaker 3 (04:26):
Yes, sir, yes, sir, I love I love doing return,
so like that's all I love to do. Then I
feel like that's going to help separate me too, because
it's fun back then, Man, it's fun.
Speaker 4 (04:37):
You got to be willing to take ahead to get on.
Speaker 1 (04:40):
So yeah, I guess so, man, Hey, thanks again.
Speaker 4 (04:46):
Yes, sir, I agree to you.
Speaker 1 (04:50):
Sorry Jeff Hawkins from Charlotte Post to congratulations and and
you look slick, dude.
Speaker 4 (04:55):
Appreciate it, man, appreciate it.
Speaker 1 (04:58):
Have you have you ever crossed paths with with t
Mac the first round pick?
Speaker 4 (05:04):
Yeah? I have.
Speaker 2 (05:05):
And what do you know about him? Uh?
Speaker 4 (05:08):
From playing against him?
Speaker 3 (05:09):
You know, every time we played against him, he came
out there and did his thing.
Speaker 2 (05:12):
You know.
Speaker 4 (05:13):
T Mac a good guy. I met him.
Speaker 3 (05:15):
I met him for the first time in person that
the NFL come by. You know, were just on the
elevator vibe and uh, I just met him right though.
And after that, I never knew it was gonna cross
pass again. And and it's a blessing to be playing
with him, man.
Speaker 2 (05:31):
And then brace young.
Speaker 1 (05:34):
But your anticipation of going in and playing with.
Speaker 3 (05:36):
Him, I just want to get to normal, man, you know, build,
build a good connection with him, you know, and just
wouldn't learn from him.
Speaker 2 (05:47):
Hey, thanks to good luck.
Speaker 4 (05:49):
Yes sir, all right, and we will finish with Cassidy.
Speaker 1 (05:55):
Hey, can you hear me now? I just wanted I
wanted to be the last one that was my whole.
I'm Cassidy with the Panthers, Jimmy.
Speaker 2 (06:03):
A lot of scouting reports referred to you as fearless.
What does what does it mean to be a fearless player?
Speaker 4 (06:10):
Uh? That's rule.
Speaker 3 (06:11):
That's like rule number one of playing ball, you know,
Like I feel like ever since growing up, you know,
playing ball, you always just have to be fearless, like
playing ball in the neighborhood, my.
Speaker 4 (06:22):
Friends, we just have to be fearless.
Speaker 3 (06:24):
And like, you can't play football scared, if that's how
I explain it in the easiest way.
Speaker 4 (06:30):
You just can't be.
Speaker 3 (06:31):
Scared out there on the field. And you got to
be able to think under pressure, you know. And football
is a game. It's fun, and you just got to
be fearless while you play it. You got to you
know what's coming with it, you know the consequences that
come with some things behind it. So you just got
to be ready to deal with That's that's how I
still Is.
Speaker 1 (06:51):
There a play or a game that you can think
of specifically where you took a risk and it completely
paid off.
Speaker 3 (07:00):
Oh, I could say it was Cincinnati game, you know,
crossing back across the field, crossing back across the field
like it could be dangerous doing that, you know, the
big guy, that's that's their favorite thing to look for.
Got my size, crossing across the field and running like
it was I caught a bubble and I ran to
(07:21):
the right side, did like a step back and I
just ran to the other side of the field and
I had got a big game off of that. But
that was the risky play too.
Speaker 1 (07:30):
And it's just last thing for me.
Speaker 3 (07:32):
How does one become Dion Sander's favorite son? It feels good,
you know what, man had that bragging right of being
the number one son. But you know, I'm pretty sure
my dad proud of me. You know all the sacrificers
he did for me to get here. And I love
Coach prying to del Man. I love him to death.
Speaker 1 (07:53):
Awesome, congratulations, thank you, yes lord?
Speaker 5 (07:57):
All right, just kidding a little finish off with Mike
k Okay, Hey, Jimmy, I saw you at the Shrine game,
and what was that experience like for you having gone
through what you went through in college and trying to
get kind of a bigger profile.
Speaker 3 (08:13):
Uh, the Shron Bowl was was a great experience. Man,
shout out of Eric Gotico. Man, he helped, He invited
us and gave us the opportunity. You know, and I
just went down to showcase my scale and my talent,
especially having having that season and coming off injuries. Because
the injuries was getting me that season and I never
been hurt that much in my life. You know, that
was kind of tough to deal with. But I but
(08:36):
you know, I just kept my head all high through
the through the through the good and the bad. And
when I got to the shrin Bul, I made a
shower that healthy and I and I came out there
and just did my thing.
Speaker 4 (08:48):
Are you completely ready to go?
Speaker 2 (08:50):
During OTAs and the off season helped us? Yea?
Speaker 4 (08:53):
All ready? Thank you?
Speaker 2 (08:55):
Congratulations with that man appreciated
Speaker 3 (09:00):
Four four
