Speaker 1 (00:06):
Guys aren't a lot a lot of contact. Seems to
be a little bit out of here, but like not
a lot as a pass rusher, what are you trying
to get out of these non contact practices?

Speaker 2 (00:15):
I mean, you know, even though it's non contact, you
can pretty much pass rush full speed. So just trying to,
you know, just get back into playing football, you know
what I'm saying. Haven't done it like really full speed
since January playing in my ball game, but just trying
to get techniques, different technique techniques down and learn how
to you know, rush against these elite tackles in the NFL.

Speaker 1 (00:36):
Know that you've you've kind of gotten here. I know
we haven't really talked too much since then, but to
have all those former Gagors players here with you, how
much does that kind of help you get used to
the kind of the like the roster, the meeting room, studying,
just being around Cam and being around the ETM.

Speaker 2 (00:53):
Yeah, Cam, etn M, Michael Tark when the Office of
Tackle he was with us too. But yeah, it does
make it a little bit easier because you know, I
already know those guys, so you know, if Trevor's talking
to a guy that I don't know, or caem is
talking to a guy that I'm not too familiar with
on the team. I I just go in and talk
with them, and now we're all talking at together, you know,
So it really makes it easier to build relationships around
around the building.

Speaker 3 (01:13):
And your NFL draft phone call, you said, ah, and
then you also said I'm gonna break y'all pockets in about.

Speaker 4 (01:21):
Three or four years.

Speaker 1 (01:22):
Yeah, is that what's the mindset behind that?

Speaker 4 (01:26):
Man?

Speaker 2 (01:29):
So, like, I don't know, like I just felt like
like nothing to the Carolina Panthers, but just you know,
I just felt like in j like I was a
first round talent in my opinion, So you know, I
was a little hot that I was sitting you know,
to the third round. So it's just you know, just
proving myself right in the future, you know what I'm saying,
just to come out here and put in the work,
and just to put in the work to show that

(01:49):
I'm worth however much breaking your pockets is.

Speaker 4 (01:53):
You know, what I'm saying is that it does for sure, Luh, definitely.

Speaker 2 (01:57):
You know, I'm I'm even though I was a little
blowed up about it, I'm still grateful at the same
time because you know it's still you know, it gives
me something to work for.

Speaker 3 (02:05):
It's like the defense seemed to have Tuba in their
sights today. Did y'all plan that ahead of time? Was
that a birthday gift?

Speaker 4 (02:12):
Wait toober in what like Tuba like.

Speaker 3 (02:14):
In your sights? Like like going after Tuba?

Speaker 4 (02:16):
Nah?

Speaker 2 (02:17):
We enemies with Tuba every day, Like it's always it's
usually always JC and Cuba. But you know what I'm saying,
Just Tuba is always yapping. You know what I'm saying.
He he a big trash talker.

Speaker 4 (02:27):
So we go. We the defense always goes at it
with him, even though it's not no contact.

Speaker 2 (02:32):
Have you what what did you notice about the difference
of speed from college to to NFL? I have, oh yeah,
one hundred percent. Like as soon as the ball snaps,
everything is developing now. Like in college, I.

Speaker 4 (02:45):
Was able to to play a little slower and read
a little slower.

Speaker 2 (02:48):
But in the like, in these practices thus far, I
feel like you have to just you have to kind
of go without you. You have to know the defense
of enough to go without thinking. Because of how how
fast the game's going.

Speaker 5 (03:01):
This defense has been really struggling to find a consistent
pass route in recent years. That's obviously one of the
reasons why you were brought in. How much do you
kind of embrace that challenge of trying to revitalize the
defensive front trying to.

Speaker 4 (03:11):
Get to the quarterback. I embrace it a lot.

Speaker 2 (03:14):
You know, today, I think we did a good job
of getting after the quarterback, but I embraced.

Speaker 4 (03:17):
It a lot.

Speaker 2 (03:17):
I feel like I'm an elite pass rusher and I
feel like I know what I can I could bring
to this team, and you know, I'm looking forward to
this season to put that on display.

Speaker 5 (03:27):
Would you describe your game as pass rusher? Like what
do you bring to well, what's in your bag?

Speaker 4 (03:30):
I guess quarterback? I would? I would.

Speaker 2 (03:32):
I would describe my game as like it's crazy word sexy,
you know what I'm saying, Like I'm not like when
you when you watch me on film, you're not gonna
see me madling guys.

Speaker 4 (03:42):
But I can do that.

Speaker 2 (03:44):
But you know what I'm saying, it's usually more for neess,
you know what I'm saying, Like footwork, getting guy's hands
off of me.

Speaker 4 (03:49):
Things like that.

Speaker 5 (03:51):
Kind of model of your game after the inspired that
that's sexy. Kind of play.

Speaker 2 (03:54):
Yeah, guys like von Miller and like DeMarcus where people
like that.

Speaker 3 (04:00):
The moniker sexy yourself or was it giving it to you?

Speaker 4 (04:03):
Nah? I just make that up right now?

Speaker 3 (04:06):
Two more uh you uh the kind of On that note,
not every defense caters to like a pass rusher or
standing up past rusher. What does these defense allow you
to do?

Speaker 2 (04:16):
I think this defense, you know, sometimes it's some of
our uh our calls. We have three down D linemen
into two outside linebackers. I think this defense just gives us,
you know, a lot of freedom to to get after
the quarterback. You know a lot of times they'll have
the outside linebackers as like I visited a team in
my uh dirty visits, and it was like the outside

(04:36):
linebackers were more of droppers, Like they played more of
like a box pl box uh linebacker, like a second
level linebacker play. But in this defense, they really give
us freedom and in order and work with the d
tackles in order to get with it get after the quarterback.

Speaker 1 (04:50):
Princeville's the biggest thing you've taken away from coach Chac
as far as teaching position at the next.

Speaker 2 (04:56):
Level really just his consistency and like his will to
get better, like he's trying to get better as a
coach every day, Like he has us, he tells he
has us do stuff during pre practice, post practice. So
just just his his will to get better, in his
consistence
