Speaker 1 (00:00):
Well, I'm sure been involved in a uh a lot
of joint practice. Is there some Is that the first
one where there wasn't like a major brawl?
Speaker 2 (00:16):
Uh? Yeah, I'd say the ones that I've been a
part of, Yeah, this has probably been one of the
first ones. So, you know, I think it was good,
you know, mutual respect between both teams and you know
we'd played them between the whistles and uh, you know
we're cool after the word, So it was pretty smooth.
Speaker 3 (00:31):
How how did the defense do today?
Speaker 2 (00:33):
Just generally, man, just a lot of energy flying around,
making plays and just having fun, you know, going against
somebody new, somebody you know, not going against the same
offense we've been going against every day and training camp
in Ota, so it was fun.
Speaker 4 (00:46):
How do you how do you compare and contrast shit
important to the joint practice versus actually getting live reps
in a preseason game, Like is do you prefer.
Speaker 2 (00:55):
One or the other?
Speaker 3 (00:56):
No?
Speaker 2 (00:56):
I mean, I think anytime you can go against somebody else,
you know, it's it's always good quality reps. You know,
like I said before, you're not going against you know,
our offense, so we're seeing you know, different stuff, different
schemes and and stuff like that.
Speaker 3 (01:08):
So I think it's all quality reps. It seems like
there were a lot of tvus out there for you guys.
Do you think that kind of like won.
Speaker 2 (01:15):
The day of You know, I think we just had
a lot of energy, like I said before, and we've
everybody fed off of it, h making plays and you know,
just excited to be out there like I said, and
just having fun, you know, like we should be.
Speaker 1 (01:27):
So your reaction when we're started coming through about.
Speaker 2 (01:31):
Jc's accident this, uh, you know, hoping everything was good,
h making sure he was alright. You know, we heard
that he was good, and then you know he just
had a a minor little thing. So everybody's good and
and you know that was the the main thing, so
dance to talk to. Yeah, he's in good spirits, so
you know it was out there watching us, watching the
guy supporting us so in good spirits as uh everybody else's.
Speaker 1 (01:54):
So then you've kind of gave us the plan for
the offense tomorrow, has it?
Speaker 3 (01:57):
Has he told you how long you guys expected to
be Nah?
Speaker 2 (02:00):
Uh he I I haven't heard anything yet, but I'm
sure you know, whatever they want us to do, we'll
we'll be ready to do it.
Speaker 1 (02:06):
So rave on how hard is it for a run
deep things to kind of come together when you're practicing
it gets your own guys a lot of times? And
is today a good a better barometer of that?
Speaker 3 (02:16):
Uh?
Speaker 2 (02:16):
I think, you know, just having that mentality of really,
like you said, to stop in the run, being physical upfront,
you know, M making the tackles that we need to make.
And I think you know, I mean going against our
guys or somebody else. We always will have to have
that mentality to to stop the run, you know, to
to get things done the way we need to do it,
whether it's us or somebody else.
Speaker 1 (02:36):
So wh Schadeorge Sanders starting the game on Friday night?
Speaker 4 (02:40):
You know how kind of exciting might that be?
Speaker 1 (02:43):
And what do you expect to uh see from short
and what do you guys expect to show you?
Speaker 2 (02:49):
I think it'll be fun, you know, I don't think
you know we're looking at it as you know, just
you know, playing against your door and it'll be super exciting.
I think anybody, any quarterback, would be the same way.
We treat them the same way. But I don't know
what we'll expect. You know, we'll see when we get there,
and you know, I don't wanna put too many things
on the table that what we're gonna do, but we'll see,
we're gonna have fun and it'll be exciting games.
Speaker 4 (03:09):
So approach these a preseason games. What is uh obviously
end result waitning that sort of thing. But for first
teamers that are gonna get limited reps, are you looking
at for yourself at a performance level? Are you looking
at just fundamentals execution? I mean, yeah, obviously make the play,
(03:30):
but are you trying to fight? Is that what you're
focusing on?
Speaker 2 (03:33):
Yeah, fundamental speed of the game, communication, making sure it's
all on point, you know, just kind of brushing the
dust off of you know, we ain't been in the
game for you know, for some months now, so you know,
kind of just like you said, communication, just you know,
getting lined up right, you know, making the players you're
supposed to make and doing your job.
Speaker 3 (03:52):
So that's the main thing.
Speaker 1 (03:54):
Yeah, right, What do you make of what uh Lton's
been able to do just coming into rookie you know,
making a statement early on and then you know, seems
like there's been brave reviews about him in general.
Speaker 2 (04:02):
Yeah, man, big time do big time player. I'm excited
to see what he can do in the preseason and
the season to come. But just always comes to work
with a lot of energy, a lot of passion, super athletic,
you know, physical, great ball skills and then can communicate.
So he has all the things you know in his
repertoire to to be a very good player.
Speaker 4 (04:21):
So can you you see forty year old Joe Flacco
out there? I mean, does he look like East East
forty when when you.
Speaker 3 (04:27):
Going against him? Nah?
Speaker 4 (04:29):
Man?
Speaker 2 (04:29):
You know season vet's so you know, just a great
you know w uh com you know, to compete against him,
you know, show us things he you know a lot
of other people don't, you know, show us that are
have been in the game as long as he has.
So it's fun to go against him and you know,
kind of pick his brand.
Speaker 4 (04:45):
So train, What can you and shaw f fuild together bring.
Speaker 3 (04:49):
To this deepis has that say it almos something?
Speaker 4 (04:50):
What can you and shawl to build together bring.
Speaker 3 (04:52):
To the shaw Yeah? Uh man?
Speaker 2 (04:55):
Just like I said with Lathan Man, just energy, leadership,
communication and j being able to you know, play the
play the way you know we're supposed to play, fast,
physical effort.
Speaker 3 (05:06):
So that's what you can expect of us to us too.
Speaker 2 (05:08):
So apologize if you can ask this already, But how
would you assess the defensive performance today? Like I said, energy,
That's what I felt all day. That was kind of
our big motto was coming out to practice with a
lot of energy and everybody would match that. And that's
what we did. We made play as when we were
supposed to, and uh we fed off each other.
Speaker 4 (05:27):
So is it one thing since your arrival that's kind
of surprised you about Carolina?
Speaker 3 (05:32):
The humidity? That's that's probably about it?
Speaker 2 (05:38):
No, man, I mean, you know, you know, football is football.
You know, the S scheme is the scheme. You learn
it when you get in here.
Speaker 3 (05:46):
You know.
Speaker 2 (05:46):
Ever, you know some things are a little different technique wise,
but you know, I for the most part I've seen
you know, most of you know how the defense is
supposed to be played.
Speaker 3 (05:55):
So I just said that
Speaker 2 (06:00):
Four four
