A new name signals a new season—and we’re opening the door on a deeply personal journey. I’m heading into a hip replacement with cerebral palsy on January 12, and I’m inviting you to see the real process: the planning, the pain, the awkward logistics, and the small wins that make recovery possible. No gloss, no vague updates—just clear, candid storytelling that follows the road from hospital to rehab and back to daily life.

We talk through why the rebrand matters and how it connects to a bigger mission: disability awareness that lives in the details. I share where to follow along—YouTube at she13win and short daily clips on TikTok and Shorts—plus the nuts and bolts of filming in medical settings, working around Wi‑Fi limits, and pacing updates around energy. You’ll hear how a birthday became a milestone that links the original injury to a future of full weight on both legs, why chosen family shaped my rehab choice, and how honest community turns isolation into momentum.

This conversation doesn’t hide the tough parts. Daily pain is part of the reality, and so are the unglamorous side quests, like dealing with a yeast infection while prepping for surgery. We get practical about timelines, school decisions, and what stable Wi‑Fi really means when connecting with listeners becomes a form of support. And because hope needs light, we set up a softer, joyful turn next week with a Disney cruise chat to balance the grind of rehab.

If you care about recovery stories, disability advocacy, and the truth behind orthopedic surgery, you’ll feel at home here. Subscribe, share this episode with someone facing rehab, and leave a review with the one question you want answered during the post‑op journey. Your questions will shape what we film and what we explain next.

SPEAKER_00 (00:00):
Welcome to a different shaped haunt, you
guys.
Yes, formerly a winning haunt.
Yes, I changed the name of thepodcast and it will s be stuck
with you guys for the rest ofthe time of the podcast.
But we'll get to why in aminute.

(00:23):
But first of all, I would liketo say they scheduled my new um
hip in January.
January 12th will be the godate.
So I will be producing contentfrom rehab.

(00:46):
Um I will be producing now.
I can't necessarily show you umwell maybe I can.
Maybe I'll get specialpermission of me doing physical
therapy so you can see uh hipreplacement with cerebral palsy,

(01:07):
but I will be recording TikToksand I will be making shots on my
new YouTube channel, which isshe the number 13 win.
And it's youtube.com slashshe13win.

(01:32):
And that's gonna be my you newYouTube channel for um
disability awareness, not inconjunction with this podcast,
it's gonna be more disabilityawareness, and I'm going to have
you guys walk through thisjourney of a hip replacement

(01:54):
with me, but it's gonna be memore me um recording by myself
because I don't think that I canrecord in the inpatient gym.
I will see if I can one day, maybe my second to last, maybe

(02:18):
my last day of play I can.
And so, but you're going to atleast heal the good, the bad,
and the ugly of the hipreplacement at age um 37.
I it was interesting because Iwas talking to someone and I

(02:42):
said, well, it's going to befull circle because by the time
my birthday hits, I'll be ableto put full weight on both my
legs.
And when the injury actuallyhappened, the initial injury
actually happened on mybirthday, and so yeah.

(03:12):
Right now I'm also dealing withlovely yeast infection, which is
always fun.
It's fun being a woman, and theyeast infection has nothing to
do with cerepals, it's just awoman's thing that I'm also

(03:36):
dealing with a yeast infection, which is lovely, and so between
that and the broken hip, andyeah, I'm trying to get into
school, as I said, but that's alittle bit longer than I
thought, and it's taking thatprocess, it's taking a little

(04:02):
bit longer, but once I get intoschool, that will keep me busy
is well, but I'm debatingwhether I should um start after
my hip replacement because theWi-Fi uh is not gonna be very

(04:23):
good in the hospital.
And it's actually bad rehab.
Um I didn't I just found outbecause the when I was up there
originally in 2024, I see thisis a rehab, Pima on the health

(04:50):
Pima rehab is a original rehabthat I got sent to um for my
back.
So I had my back done in Aprilof 2024.
Well, this is a rehab that theysent me to.

(05:16):
Um this was their choice doc.
Actually, it was my choice, butthis is where they sent me, they
gave me a list of rehabs, and mychurch family was up there.

(05:39):
And when I say my church family, these people are not related um
to me by blood, they're just mychosen family, just like Danny
Ellis, even though she's my bestfriend, she's more like the
sister I never had.
And so my chosen family was upthere visiting me um when the

(06:08):
list came in to pick for me togo to rehab because I said from
the get-go I was going to rehabfor the second round of my back
and I um I decided to go wheremy church family recommended

(06:41):
because they had a lot ofparishioners up there, they knew
that space fairly, fairly well, and so I decided to um sold a
little lead and I went up therefor my knee, and so now I'm up

(07:05):
to the elf of my hip, but theyhave stable Wi-Fi, so I'll be
able to record up on there, sothat should be good, but the go
date is um January 12th, and Iwill be out for a good six weeks

(07:34):
becoming um slash in rehab slashphysical therapy.
So you guys won't see me for youwill see me on and off, you will
see me in rehab, but you won'tsee me at the initial recovery

(07:57):
um in the hospital.
And yes, I'm in pain everysingle day.
I'm up in pain as I record this,so yeah, that's been fun, and so
this has put me through mypaces.

(08:18):
It's also giving me a newperspective on life.
So with that, I'm gonna letDaniel leave us out, and we're
going to catch you guys nextweek.
Next week it's gonna be theDisney interview because life is
life in for Daniel right now,and yeah, life is lifing for me,

(08:45):
and life is life in foreveryone.
So next week is gonna be a lightpositive interview with Daniel
talking about her Disney cruise.

(09:09):
Thank you for following us.
