Speaker 1 (00:02):
Welcome to a winning
situation, everyone.
The reason why I have my cameraturned off is because I'm so
exhausted that I'm lying down.
The good news is that my C diffis 90% healed and I get to go
(00:32):
see GI in June, which GI isgoing to tell me more about C
diff?
Or they're going to tell me oh,you need a surgery on your
colon.
A colon lost me.
To look at C diff.
I'm like, go ahead, go ahead ifI need one, go ahead and do one
(00:55):
, because I'm at that age anyway.
And the good news about myfever is it's 75% healed.
It's not 100% healed.
I'm a little bit annoyed aboutthat because I thought by now,
(01:19):
if you had surgery in February,it would be healed by June, but
apparently not.
Apparently, my femur decides totake forever to heal and I'm
looking at other surgeries too.
Yes, I said other surgeriesBecause I am looking at
(01:44):
hamstring lengthening as anadult, yikes.
And I'm looking at a secretsurgery which you guys didn't
know that I'm having, and we'llget more into that as soon as I
(02:09):
get set up with the surgeon whocan do it and why I need to have
it done again the third time.
And, yeah, because I want toget rid of a bump in my nose and
I want to not have a deviatedseptum.
(02:32):
Oh yeah, I gave it away.
Yes, I have a deviated septum.
Yes, I'm not getting a cutenose again, not getting a nose
job people, I'm getting adeviated septum fixed and that's
that.
As soon as INT can see me, I'mgetting it done and I am.
(02:58):
That's going to be a recoveryin itself, but I am so used to
recovery that it's not evenfunny and this won't be the last
time I have my deviatedsubstance.
But enough of a house update onme, on me.
(03:20):
Today we're going to talk aboutwhat we like to do outside of
podcasting, as I said, outsideof podcasting.
(03:47):
And, danielle, I can tellyou're looking down at the iPad
and so I'm going to let you,Missy, take it away on the iPad,
because I know you're emptywith that iPad and so I'm going
to let you hit.
She's laughing at me becauseshe knows what I just said and
I'm going.
You hit the go button on theiPad, so go.
My favorite activities to doare singing.
Speaker 2 (04:06):
You hit the go button
on the iPad, so go.
My favorite activities to doare singing, acting,
snowboarding, rock climbing, biking and paddle boarding and,
for my surprise, I am finallygetting to swim in the ocean for
my first time ever in Octoberby going with Max and a
traveling group on a Disneycruise.
Geez, you are, yeah, in.
Speaker 1 (04:25):
October by going with
Max and a traveling group on a
Disney cruise.
Geez, you are.
Yeah, how fun is that Disneycruise?
Fun, fun, fun, fun, fun.
Well, I and I still do.
(04:47):
I just haven't done it in along time because of my hips and
femur and back.
I have a horsey that I go.
And you've probably seen meride horses.
Yes, I like to ride horses, andpeople know this.
(05:09):
And yes, I want to be a crazywoman and ride horses again and
I wish I had access to asnowboard.
I do like snowboarding Danielleknows I do but I don't have
access to a snowboarder.
I gave that up for the Beautyof Arizona.
(05:29):
But I do have access topossibly going home and when I
say home, I mean Aspen home.
I possibly going home inJanuary of the next year We'll
see what happens.
(05:51):
And my surprise to you guysunbeknownst to you guys is I am
I like to do art.
Well, those of you it won't beas much as you guys, but those
of you who have followed me foryears know that I like to do art
(06:16):
and so I'm planning to get backinto that as a hobby, not as a
business.
You guys and I like to inspirepeople, which is no surprise to
you guys, because I like to keeppeople going, and then Yilda's
(06:41):
too.
She likes acting.
And, by the way, publicannouncement, danielle and I are
taking one week off in July, ormaybe maybe the month of July.
(07:04):
In July or maybe maybe themonth of July we haven't
necessarily talked about it, Iknow.
I know I'm 100% positive, it'sone week, but maybe the month of
July we take off, becauseDanielle when she said I like
acting, danielle is a phenomenalactress.
(07:29):
I have seen her act many timesand she is one of the stars in
the Challenge Houseman Play Camp, which I love it dearly.
But the Challenge Aspen PlayCamp and she'll admit this to
(07:50):
you drives her nuts because sheis one of the helpers with the
Challenge Aspen Play Camp due toshe's been doing it for
20-some-odd years that's how wemet originally and so she needs
(08:12):
all the good vibes sent to her.
She also needs a week off fromwork because the Challenge Aspen
Play Camp drives her absolutelyinsane and it's chaotic.
But she loves chaos, she loveshelping with it.
But yeah, danielle can't helpwith the podcast and Danielle
(08:37):
can't help me, so I give a weekoff.
I probably she's laughing at mebecause she's laughing at me
because she knows that I wasabout to say that.
And you just need to tellpeople when the play camp is, so
(09:01):
they don't contact you aboutthe podcast, although they can.
That is the week of July, secondweek of July.
So guess what people?
We'll be back in August becauseDanielle needs a major, major,
(09:22):
major mental health break after.
I mean, we have participantswho are in their 80s to 5 years
old.
I mean, the youngestparticipant is 5 years old and
she's a rock star and she helpsmental kids, but she needs a
(09:46):
major mental health break afterthat and she can't die.
Even though I want to do, shecan't, she can't.
Cp gets a major break.
After that, the second week ofJuly, cp gets a major break.
(10:08):
She doesn't know that she'staking the whole month of July
off the podcast.
And then we have anotherannouncement for you guys.
We'll get to that announcementlater, but Danielle and I have
decided something finally tosave our sanity.
(10:29):
To save our sanity, basically,we'll get to that announcement
later, but no podcast in July.
You guys get to listen to oldepisodes Because, yes, yes, july
you guys get to listen to allthe episodes because, yes,
really did you just say thankyou.
You didn't know I was going todo that, but yeah, well, that
(10:56):
was my surprise, I didn't wantto tell you via text, but
because she needs a major mentalhealth break.
And they have fun that week, but you need a major, major
mental health break after that, because not only do we deal with
(11:19):
cerebral palsy, we deal withnonverbal, we deal with autism,
we deal with things that CPdoesn't want to deal with, but
because Danielle's the rock starthat she is, um, danny will
(11:48):
work too after that, but, um,because Danielle is a rock star
that she is, they kind of makeher and they made me at one
point the co-directors, becausewe could handle it and we had
(12:10):
done it before, but Danny Elmoreand me, but all in all, cp
needs a chill pill after that.
Cp just needs a chill pillafter that.
Cp just needs a chill pillafter that, because CP freaks
out.
If you let it, if you let theCP freak out, it will freak out.
(12:34):
Trust me, it's freaked out onme three times since I've been
down there Once after backsurgery, once while well C diff.
It flicked out many times, andthen once after my knee surgery,
(12:55):
it had a mini flick out, kneesurgery, had him in a freak out,
and so CP and Danielle and Idon't know the word self-care,
danielle and I know the word hitthe ground running, but we
don't know the word self-care.
(13:15):
So that's why I say the monthof July podcasts go bye, bye.
And then the month of Augustpodcasts back, and then the
month of July podcasts gobye-bye, and then the month of
August podcasts back, and thenthe month of September it will
just be Danielle and I doing it,because it's to save our sanity
(13:40):
.
It's to save our sanity.
It's to save our sanity.
And I have a couple projectsgoing on behind the scenes.
That one I'm going back toschool again to be a pre, to get
my degree finally, finally, finally, A totally different
(14:00):
degree, although I do have aplan.
If that school doesn't acceptme and although I'm working on
the paperwork, but if they don'taccept me, I'll go for my dream
career, which is journalism.
But somehow I'm power-pull, amin this direction of helping
(14:26):
others.
So we're trying that first.
But I want to help others, buthelping others is a lifelong
calling.
But if that program at LibertyUniversity, the program I'm
(14:46):
trying to get into, is disabledministry, believe it or not, and
I'm trying to get more involvedwith the Episcopal Church,
believe it or not, and so I amtrying to get into that program.
If not, I have a backup planput in place if that program
(15:10):
doesn't accept me, and so we'llsee what happens.
I have to organize thepaperwork, get a couple more
transcripts sent over by Augustand then we'll be good to go.
But other than that, that's myprojects behind the scenes.
(15:31):
So, basically, the transcriptsPodcast is going to not be put
on hold but it's going to take aturn for the better, because
chasing people is hard on CP andI don't want CP to flick out on
(15:54):
both ends.
My CP has flicked out enoughand my CP has flicked out enough
, and then the CP will flick outif I let it, and stress flicks
out CP, so yeah the tone.
(16:15):
And when the body gets stressedout, cp goes yes, I don't want
to work anymore, so yeah.
So that's why I'm giving theother months of July off,
because I knew that theChallenge, aspen Play Camp was
coming up and I knew that howshe's so involved with that and
(16:40):
I didn't want CP to freak out.
I wanted CP to be nice and calmand I knew that you were going
back to work-y, which work-y'sfun too.
But, as I said, I didn't want CPto necessarily freak out.
(17:01):
So that's why I'm giving Dannythe month of July off.
And that was surprise to her.
She didn't even know it and Iyeah, which she's very, very
grateful for, because she's likeI could tell by her text
message.
She's like how in the world amI going to do all this?
(17:23):
How in the world?
She's like go on and go, but atthe time sometimes I don't want
her to fall over.
When she falls over because ofCP, it's like yeah, yeah, and I
(17:46):
mean physically and mentally,fall overdue.
And it's like, hello, cp needsto take a chill pill, especially
after that chaotic week in July.
And so that's why I but we'regoing to have fun this summer,
I'm going to get completelyhealed, and then we'll see what
(18:11):
ends up happening and I'll keepyou guys updated on my health
and thank you for love andsupport on my health and a huge
shout out to pod match forsending me all the new listeners
and thank you for doing that.
(18:34):
And then I'll be back onPodMatch and then it will be all
good to go and we'll still havethe podcast, but the podcast
will be taking a different turnin September because I'll still
do the occasional interviews, but it will basically be
(18:58):
Danielle and I doing it, but thepodcast will basically be
Danielle and I doing it, but thepodcast will still be available
and will still be up androlling, and let me know.
Let me know if you guys haveany questions.
You can reach out to me, and sowe'll be that.
(19:21):
That's the summer plans andthat's what we like to do
outside of podcasting, and yeah, and then I'll.
I guess I'm taking another weekoff when Danny Hill goes on
vacation for the first time everto go swim in the ocean on a
(19:41):
Disney cruise, and so thatsounds fun.
I wish I could go with you, butI can't.
I'm stuck here, healing, healing my body.
Next year, next year, we need toplan something, and so I'm
going to let you guys go.

to at any time and, yeah, we'regoing to let you guys go.
It's feasible to listen to atany time.
We're going to let you guys goand have a great day and we'll
see you next week.
In the meantime, I'll berecording episodes with Danielle
(21:14):
