Let your body soften, your mind quiet, and your spirit rest in

(01:11):
His presence. Reflect.
Consider God's faithfulness today.
Where did you see His goodness? What small moments of grace can

(01:33):
you hold on to as you rest? Ask.
Whisper a prayer to God, whetherfor peace, comfort, or simply
the ability to let go and trust Him as you sleep.

(02:01):
Yield now, surrender, release control.
Know that you are held, loved and watched over by the One who
never sleeps. Father, comfort us now as we

(02:31):
drift into sleep. Calm our hearts, our minds, our
bodies, and our spirits as we meditate on Your Word tonight.
Give us deep rest so we can wakeup tomorrow.

Let's now rest in His word together as we journey through
Psalms. Psalms 86A Davidic Prayer Listen

(03:28):
Lord, and answer me, for I am poor and needy.
Protect my life, for I am faithful.
You are my God. Save your servant who trusts in
you. Be gracious to me Lord, for I
call to you all day long. Bring joy to your servant's

(03:49):
life, because I turn to you, Lord, for you, Lord, our kind
and ready to forgive. Rich and faithful love to all
who call on you. Lord, hear my prayer.
Listen to my plea for mercy. I call on you in the day of my

(04:12):
distress, for you will answer me.
Lord, there is no one like you among the gods, and there are no
works like yours. All the nations you have made
will come and bow down before you, Lord, and we'll honor your
name, for you are great and perform wonders, You alone our

(04:37):
God. Teach me your way, Yahweh, and I
will live by your truth. Give me an undivided mind to
fear your name. I will praise you with all my
heart, Lord my God, and will honor your name forever, for

(04:58):
your faithful love for me is great and you will deliver my
life from the depths of Sheol God.
Arrogant people have attacked me, A gang of ruthless men seeks
my life. They have no regard for you.
But you, Lord, are a compassionate and gracious God.

(05:22):
Slow to anger, and rich and faithful love and truth.
Turn to me and be gracious to me.
Give Your strength to Your servant.
Save the son of Your female servant.
Show me a sign of Your goodness. My enemies will see and be put
to shame because you, Lord, havehelped and comforted me.

(05:58):
Psalms 87. His foundation is on the holy
mountains. The Lord loves the gates of Zion
more than all the dwellings of Jacob.
Glorious things are said about you.
City of God say law. I will mention those who know

(06:19):
me. Rahab.
Babylon. Philistia Tire and Kush, each
one was born there and it will be said of Zion, this one and
that one were born in her. The Most High himself will
establish her when he registers the peoples the Lord will

(06:43):
record. This one was born there say.
Law singers and dancers alike will say, My whole source of joy
is in you. Psalms 88 A Psalm of the Sons of

(07:09):
Korah for the choir director. Lord God of my salvation, I cry
out before you day and night. May my prayer reach your
presence. Listen to my cry, for I have had
enough troubles and my life is near Sheol.

(07:33):
I am counted among those going down to the pit.
I am like a man without strength, abandoned among the
dead. I am like the slain lying in the
grave, whom you no longer remember and who are cut off
from your care. You have put me in the lowest

(07:54):
part of the pit, in the darkest places in the depths.
Your wrath weighs heavily on me.You have overwhelmed me with all
your waves. Say, Lord, you have distanced my
friends from me. You have made me repulsive to

(08:14):
them. I am shut in and cannot go out.
My eyes are worn out from crying.
Lord, I cry out to you all day long.
I spread out my hands to you. Do you work wonders for the
dead? Do departed spirits rise up to

(08:36):
praise you? Say, Long will your faithful
love be declared in the grave, Your faithfulness in Abaddon.
Will your wonders be known in the darkness, or your
righteousness in the land of oblivion.

(08:56):
But I call to you for help, Lord, in the morning my prayer
meets you. Lord, why do you reject me?
Why do you hide your face from me?
For my youth I have been afflicted in near death.
I suffer your horrors. I am desperate.

(09:18):
Your wrath sweeps over me. Your terrors destroy me.
They surround me like water all day long.
They close in on me from every side.
You have distanced loved one andneighbor from me.
Darkness is my only friend. Psalms 89 I will sing about the

(09:53):
Lord's faithful love forever. I will proclaim your
faithfulness to all generations with my mouth, for I will
declare faithful love is built up forever.
You establish your faithfulness in the heavens.
The Lord said, I have made a covenant with my chosen 1.

(10:15):
I have sworn an oath to David myservant.
I will establish your offspring forever, and I will build up
your throne for all generations.Say law, Lord, the heavens,
praise your wonders, your faithfulness also in the
assembly of the holy ones. For who in the skies can compare

(10:39):
with the Lord? Who among the heavenly beings is
like the Lord God is greatly feared in the counsel of the
holy ones, more awe inspiring than all who surround him?
Lord God of hosts, who is stronglike you.

(11:00):
Lord, your faithfulness surrounds you.
You rule the raging sea, when its waves surge, you steal them.
You crushed Rahab like one who is slain.
You scattered your enemies with your powerful arm.
The heavens are yours. The earth is also yours, The

(11:24):
world and everything in it. You founded them North and
South. You created them.
Tabor and Herman shout for joy at your name.
You have a mighty arm. Your hand is powerful.
Your right hand is lifted high righteousness and justice for

(11:47):
the foundation of your throne. Faithful love and truth go
before you. Happy are the people who know
the joyful shout Yahweh. They walk in the light of Your
presence. They rejoice in Your name all
day long, and they are exalted by your righteousness, for you

(12:12):
are their magnificent strength. For your favor our horn is
exalted. By your favor your horn is
exalted. Surely our shield belongs to the
Lord. Our King is the Holy One of
Israel. You once spoke in a vision to

(12:33):
your loyal ones and said, I havegranted help to a warrior.
I have exalted 1 chosen from thepeople.
I have found David my servant. I've anointed him with my sacred
oil. My hand will always be with him,
and my arm will strengthen him. The enemy will not afflict him.

(12:58):
No wicked man will oppress him. I will crush his foes before him
and strike those who hate him. My faithfulness and love will be
with Him, and through my name His horn will be exalted.
I will extend his power to the sea and His right hand to the

(13:18):
rivers. He will call to me.
You are my Father, my God, the rock of my salvation.
I will also make Him my first born, the greatest of the kings
of the earth. I will always preserve my
faithful love for Him. My covenant with Him will

(13:40):
endure. I will establish His line
forever, His throne as long as heaven lasts.
If His sons forsake my instruction and do not live by
my ordinances, if they dishonor my statutes and do not keep my
commands, then I will call the rebellion to account with the

(14:01):
rod their sin with blows. But I will not withdraw my
faithful love from him or betraymy faithfulness.
I will not violate my covenant or change what my lips have said
once and for all. I have sworn an oath by my
holiness. I will not lie to David.

(14:26):
His offspring will continue forever.
His throne, like the sun before me, like the moon established
forever a faithful witness in the sky, Say law.
But you have spurned and rejected him.
You have become enraged with your anointed.

(14:47):
You have repudiated the covenantwith your servant.
You have completely dishonored His crown.
You have broken down all His walls.
You have reduced his fortified cities to ruins.
All who pass by plunder him. He has become an object of
ridicule to his neighbors, who have lifted high the right hand

(15:11):
of his foes. You have made all his enemies
rejoice. You have also turned back his
sharp sword, and have not let him stand in battle.
You have made his splendor cease, and have overturned his
throne. You have shortened the days of
his youth. You have covered him with shame.

(15:34):
Say law. How long, Lord, will you hide
yourself forever? Will your anger keep burning
like fire? Remember how short my life is?
Have you created everyone for nothing?
What man can live and never see death?

(15:57):
Who can save himself from the power of Sheol, say law?
Lord, where are the former acts of your faithful love that you
swore to David in your faithfulness?
Remember, Lord, the ridicule against your servants.
In my heart I carry abuse from all the peoples.

(16:21):
How your enemies have ridiculed Lord.
How they have ridiculed every step of your anointed.
May the Lord be praised forever.Amen and Amen.

(16:46):
As we bring book three of the Psalms to a close, let's pause
and reflect on the journey we'vetaken together.
We step into a season of wrestling where the people of
God ask hard questions and stillhold on to hope.

(17:08):
Book 3 opens with tension. In Psalm 73, Asaph confesses my
feet had almost slipped, for I envied the arrogant when I saw
the prosperity of the wicked. Psalm 73 two through 3.
Have you ever wondered why life feels harder when you're trying

(17:32):
to live faithfully? Book 3 does not ignore that
ache. It brings it into the presence
of God. But the turning point comes when
a staff enters the sanctuary. Then I understood their final
destiny. Whom have I in heaven?
But you? And earth has nothing I desire

(17:54):
besides you. Psalm 7317 and 25.
Even in confusion, God is still the portion that satisfies.
We continue through cries for justice and questions about
suffering. Psalm 77 wonders, has his

(18:18):
unfailing love vanished forever?Has God forgotten to be
merciful? But even there the psalmist
remembers. I will remember the deeds of the
Lord. I will meditate on all your
works. Psalm 77, eight through 12.

(18:39):
When faith fills, weak memory becomes worship.
In Psalm 80, we hear the voice of a people longing to be
restored. Restore us, O God, make your
face shine on us, that we might be saved.
Psalm 80, verse 3. This cry repeats like a refrain,

(19:05):
a soul that refuses to give up. And then comes Psalm 88, the
darkest Psalm. No resolution, no happy ending.
Justice. Darkness is my closest friend.
Psalm 88, verse 18 even that hasa place in worship.

(19:31):
Even silence and sorrow are sacred before the Lord.
But Book 3 closes not in despair, but with a declaration.
In Psalm 89, the psalmist recalls the promises to David
and says, I will sing of the Lord's great love forever with

(19:55):
my mouth. I will make your faithfulness
known through all generations. Psalm 89 verse one.
Yes, there is pain, yes there ismystery, but there is also
covenant love that will never bebroken.

(20:16):
Book 3 of the Psalms reminds us that faith is not always tidy.
It includes struggle, doubt, grief, but it also includes
trust that keeps showing up evenin the dark.
So rest tonight knowing this Godwelcomes your questions.

(20:42):
He holds your heart and His loveendures forever.

(21:04):
Book 4, Psalms 90 A prayer of Moses, the man of God.
Lord, you have been our refuge in every generation, before the
mountains were born, before you gave birth to the earth and the

(21:26):
world. From eternity to eternity, you
are God. You return mankind to the dust,
saying return descendants of Adam.
For in your sight 1000 years arelike yesterday that passes by

(21:48):
like a few hours of the night. You end their lives, they sleep.
They are like grass that grows in the morning.
In the morning it sprouts and grows, by evening it Withers and
dries up. For we are consumed by your
anger. We are terrified by your wrath.

(22:12):
You have set our unjust ways before you, our secret sins in
the light of your presence. For all our days ebb away under
your wrath. We end our years like a sigh.
Our lives last 70 years or if weare strong, 80 years.

(22:37):
Even the best of them are struggle and sorrow.
Indeed, they pass quickly and wefly away.
Who understands the power of your anger?
Your wrath matches the fear thatis due you.
Teach us to number our days carefully so that we may develop

(23:01):
wisdom in our hearts. Lord, how long turn and have
compassion on your servants. Satisfy us in the morning with
Your fateful love so that we mayshout with joy and be glad all
our days. Make us rejoice for as many days

(23:21):
as You have humbled us, for as many years as we have seen
adversity. Let your work be seen by your
servants, and your splendor by their children.
Let the favor of the Lord our God be on us.
Establish us for the work of ourhands.

(23:42):
Establish the work of our hands.Psalms 91 The one who lives
under the protection of the MostHigh dwells in the shadow of the

(24:05):
Almighty. I will say to the Lord my refuge
and my fortress, my God, in whomI trust.
He himself will deliver you fromthe Hunter's net, from the
destructive plague. He will cover you with his
feathers. You will take refuge under his

(24:27):
wings. His faithfulness will be a
protective shield. You will not fear the terror of
the night, the arrow that flies by day, the plague that stalks
in darkness, or the pestilence that ravages at noon.
Though 1000 fall at your side and 10,000 at your right hand,

(24:50):
the pestilence will not reach you.
You will only see it with your eyes and witness the punishment
of the wicked, because you have made the Lord my refuge, the
Most High, your dwelling place. No harm will come to you, no
plague will come near your tent,For He will give His angels

(25:12):
orders concerning you, to protect you in all your ways.
They will support you with theirhands, so you will not strike
your foot against a stone. You will tread on the lion in
the cobra. You will trample the young lion
and the serpent. Because he's lovingly devoted to

(25:37):
me, I will deliver him. I will protect him because he
knows my name. When he calls out to me, I will
answer him. I will be with him in trouble.
I will rescue him and give him honor.
I will satisfy him with a long life and show him my salvation.

(26:10):
Psalms 92. It is good to praise Yahweh, to
sing praise to Your name Most High, to declare Your faithful
love in the morning and Your faithfulness at night with A10
strained harp and the music of aliar.

(26:30):
For You have made me rejoice, Lord, by what you have done.
I will shout for joy, because the works of your hands, how
magnificent are your works, Lord, how profound your
thoughts. A stupid person does not know, a
fool does not understand this. Though the wicked sprout like

(26:54):
grass, and all evil doers flourish.
They will be eternally destroyed.
But you, Lord, are exalted forever.
For indeed, Lord, your enemies, indeed your enemies will perish.
All evil doers will be scattered.

(27:15):
You have lifted up my horn like that of a wild ox.
I have been anointed with oil. My eyes look down on my enemies,
my ears hear evil doers when they attack me.
The righteous thrive like a palmtree and grow like a cedar tree

(27:35):
in Lebanon. Planted in the House of the
Lord. They thrive in the courts of our
God. They will still bear fruit in
old age, healthy and green to declare the Lord is just.
He is my rock and there is no unrighteousness in Him.

(28:05):
Psalms 93 The Lord reigns. He is robed in majesty.
The Lord is robed, enveloped in strength.
The world is firmly established and cannot be shaken.
Your throne has been establishedfrom the beginning.

(28:27):
You are from eternity. The floods have lifted up, Lord.
The floods have lifted up their voice.
The floods lifted up their pounding waves.
Greater than the roar of many waters, the mighty Breakers of
the sea. The Lord on high is majestic.
Lord, your testimonies are completely reliable.

(28:51):
Holiness is the beauty of your house for all the days to come.
Psalms 94 Lord, God of vengeance, God of vengeance,

(29:12):
appear. Rise up, judge of the earth,
repay the proud what they deserve.
Lord, how long will the wicked? How long will the wicked gloat?
They pour out arrogant words. All the evil doers boast.

(29:32):
Lord, they crush your people, they afflict your heritage.
They kill the widow and the foreigner and murder the
fatherless. They say the Lord doesn't see
it. The God of Jacob doesn't pay
attention. Pay attention, you stupid
people, fools. When will you be wise?

(29:57):
Can the one who shaped the ear not hear, the one who formed the
eye not see? The one who instructs nations,
the one who teaches man knowledge, does he not
discipline? The Lord knows man's thoughts.
They are meaningless. Lord, happy is the man you

(30:18):
discipline and teach from your law to give him relief from
troubled times. Until a pit is dug for the
wicked, the Lord will not forsake his people or abandoned
his heritage. For justice will again be
righteous, and all the upright and hard will follow it.

(30:40):
Who stands up for me against thewicked?
Who takes a stand for me againstthe evil doers?
If the Lord had not been my helper, I would soon rest in the
silence of death. If I say my foot is slipping,
your faithful love will support me.
Lord, when I am filled with cares, your comfort brings me

(31:04):
joy. Can a corrupt throne, one that
creates trouble by law, become your ally?
They band together against the life of the righteous and
condemn the innocent to death. But the Lord is my refuge.
My God is the rock of my protection.

(31:25):
He will pay them back for their sins and destroy them for their
evil. The Lord our God will destroy
them. Psalms 95 Come, let us shout

(31:47):
joyfully to the Lord, shout triumphantly to the rock of our
salvation. Let us enter His presence with
Thanksgiving. Let us shout triumphantly to Him
in song. For the Lord is a great God, a
great King above all gods. The depths of the earth are in

(32:07):
His hand, and the mountain peaksare His.
The sea is his. He made it.
His hands form the dry land. Come, let us worship and bow
down. Let us kneel before the Lord our
Maker, for He is our God, and weare the people of His pasture,

(32:29):
the sheep under His care. Today, if you hear His voice, do
not harden your hearts as at Meribah, as on that day at Massa
in the wilderness, where your Father's tested me.
They tried me though. They had seen what I did for 40

(32:50):
years. I was disgusted with that
generation, I said. They are a people whose hearts
go astray. They do not know my ways.
So I swore in my anger they willnot enter my rest.

(33:17):
Psalms 96 Sing a new song to theLord, sing to the Lord, sing to
the Lord all the earth, sing to Yahweh, praise His name,
proclaim His salvation from day-to-day, declare His glory
among the nations, His wonderfulworks among all peoples and is

(33:41):
highly praised. He is feared above all gods, for
all the gods of the peoples are idols.
But the Lord has made the heavens.
Splendor and majesty are before Him.
Strength and beauty are in His sanctuary.
Ascribe to the Lord you, families of the peoples.

(34:03):
Ascribe to the Lord glory and strength.
Ascribe to Yahweh the glory of His name.
Bring an offering and enter His courts.
Worship the Lord in the splendorof His Holiness.
Tremble before him all the earth.
Say among the nations the Lord reigns.

(34:27):
The world is firmly established. He cannot be shaken.
He judges the peoples fairly. Let the heavens be glad, and the
earth rejoice. Let the sea and all that fills
it resound of the fields, and everything in them exalt.
Then all the trees of the forestwill shout for joy before the

(34:50):
Lord, for He is coming, for He is coming to judge the earth.
He will judge the world with righteousness, and the peoples
with his faithfulness. Psalms 97.

(35:14):
The Lord reigns. Let the earth rejoice.
Let the many coasts and islands be glad.
Clouds and thick darkness surround him.
Righteousness and justice are the foundation of his throne.
Fire goes before him and burns up his foes on every side.

(35:36):
His lightning lights of the world, the earth, seas and
trembles, the mountains melt like wax.
And at the presence of the Lord,at the presence of the Lord, all
the earth, the heavens proclaim His righteousness.
All the people see His glory. All who serve carved images,

(36:00):
those who boast in idols, will be put to shame.
All the gods must worship Him. Zion hears and is glad, and the
towns of Judah rejoice because of your judgments, Lord.
For you, Lord, are the Most Highover all the earth.
You are exalted above all the gods.

(36:23):
You who love the Lord hate evil and protects the lives of His
godly ones. He rescues them from the power
of the wicked. Light dawns from the righteous.
Gladness for the upright and heart.
Be glad in Yahweh, you righteousones, and praise His holy name.

(36:54):
Psalms 98 Sing a new song to theLord, for He has performed
wonders. His right hand and holy arm have
won him victory. The Lord has made His victory
known. He has revealed His
righteousness in the sight of the nations.
He has remembered His love and faithfulness to the House of

(37:17):
Israel. All the ends of the earth have
seen our God's victory. Shout to the Lord all the earth.
Be jubilant, shout for joy and see.
Sing to the Lord with a liar, with a liar and melodious song,
with trumpets in the blast of the ram's horn.

(37:37):
Shout triumphantly in the presence of the Lord our King.
Let the sea and all that fills it, the world and those who live
in it resound. Let the rivers clap their hands.
Let the mountains shout togetherfor joy before the Lord, for He
is coming to judge the earth. He will judge the world

(38:00):
righteously and the peoples fairly.
And now we pray a prayer from John Bailey, the 20th century
Scottish theologian. Oh Lord, you are from

(38:27):
everlasting to everlasting. I turn my thoughts to you as the
hours of darkness and of sleep begin.
O Son of my soul, I rejoice to know that all night I shall be
under the watchful eye of the One who dwells in eternal light.

(38:49):
Into your care, Father, I now entrust my body and soul.

(39:58):
