What Is a Good CTR for Facebook Ads?
Click-Through Rate (CTR) measures the percentage of people who click your ad after seeing it, calculated as (Clicks ÷ Impressions) × 100. On Facebook, CTR is a key indicator of ad relevance, creative quality, and targeting accuracy.
Industry data shows the average CTR for Facebook ads is around 0.90% – 1.10%, with medians close to 1.80%. Ecommerce often achieves 1.15%, while Food & Drink sits near 0.88%. Interactive ads can reach 1.25%–1.33%, and video ads typically start at 0.50%. Generally, a “good” CTR is one that meets or exceeds your industry’s benchmark—often between 0.5% and 5% depending on format, audience, and offer appeal.
Why does CTR matter? A higher CTR signals that your ad is resonating with your audience and driving engagement. It can also improve your ad relevance score, potentially lowering your CPC. However, CTR alone doesn’t guarantee conversions—it simply reflects initial interest. You must also track conversion rate (CVR) to assess the full impact.
How to improve Facebook ads CTR:
Narrow your targeting to reach the most relevant audience.
Run retargeting campaigns for warmer, more familiar prospects.
Use scroll-stopping visuals like branded images or short videos.
Write persuasive ad copy with strong calls-to-action.
A/B test everything—headlines, visuals, and offers.
Study high-performing ads for inspiration and trends.
To check your CTR, go to Facebook Ads Manager → Ads tab → set your time frame → Columns → “Performance and Clicks” → find the CTR (All) column. Compare results to industry benchmarks to determine if you’re above or below average.
