Hi everyone! Hope you all have had a lovely, lovely week. Just a preface to this week's episode, this was FULLY intended to be an F4F episode, but I realized once I had finished recording that there really wasn't any specific F4F references and that this technically was an F4A episode. So, I'm still releasing this on my F4F channel but I just wanted to acknowledge and apologize that this isn't a true F4F episode. I will make it up to you I promise!

Today's episode starts with the dreaded bike crash... something us road bikers constantly fear but must go through every once in awhile. You're driving down a back road when you come across a biker who has trashed their beautiful bike. Turns out, it's your bully and she's in some definite need of assistance. She denies your offer to help over and over again until, finally, she breaks and lets you help. You give her a ride home and, to your surprise, discover that she's kind of a baby about medical stuff. Not only that, but she REALLY likes to cuddle...

Cardiac Cowboys

Cardiac Cowboys

The heart was always off-limits to surgeons. Cutting into it spelled instant death for the patient. That is, until a ragtag group of doctors scattered across the Midwest and Texas decided to throw out the rule book. Working in makeshift laboratories and home garages, using medical devices made from scavenged machine parts and beer tubes, these men and women invented the field of open heart surgery. Odds are, someone you know is alive because of them. So why has history left them behind? Presented by Chris Pine, CARDIAC COWBOYS tells the gripping true story behind the birth of heart surgery, and the young, Greatest Generation doctors who made it happen. For years, they competed and feuded, racing to be the first, the best, and the most prolific. Some appeared on the cover of Time Magazine, operated on kings and advised presidents. Others ended up disgraced, penniless, and convicted of felonies. Together, they ignited a revolution in medicine, and changed the world.
