Speaker 1 (00:00):
Hey everybody, and welcome. Hope everybody's having a great day today.
Today I want to talk about one of my favorite topics.
It's something that my son and I share common in
common and we have good talks and conversations about. It's cars.
So we're going to talk about cars today, and we're

(00:23):
going to explore the incredible evolution of automobiles from their
humble beginnings to the high tech marvels we drive today.
We'll talk about the different types of cars that fit
every lifestyle, from muscle cars that just roar down the
road which are fun to drive even if you can't
get as fast as you want to, and family cars

(00:44):
that keep everyone safe and comfortable. Will also take a
look at vehicles that work behind the scenes to build
our world, like dump trucks and construction equipment, that kind
of thing. So buckle up, turn the ignition and let's
get started the road trip through automotive history, and we

(01:05):
look at the future a little bit so and beyond
history of cars. The story of cars begins in the
late nineteenth century. The first cars were more like motorized
carriages powered by steam engines. In eighteen eighty six, Carl
Benz introduced the Benz patent motor wagon. Widely considered the

(01:29):
first modern automobile. It was powered by a gasoline engine
and set the stage for cars that we know today.
Then came the twentieth century, when Henry Ford revolutionized the
industry with the assembly line. His Model T, introduced in
nineteen oh eight, made cars affordable and accessible to the

(01:50):
average person. As technology progressed, cars became faster, safer, and
more reliable. By the mid twentieth century, cars were were
more than just a mode of transportation. They were a
symbol of freedom, status, and innovation. Today we're in the
age of electric cars, self driving technology, and smart connectivity.

(02:13):
Companies like Tesla and legacy automakers like Ford and GM
are reshaping what cars can do, from helping the environment
to driving themselves. Let's dive into the many types of
cars out there that are designed to meet different needs
in different lifestyles. Muscle cars, of course, I lead with

(02:37):
this one. Think Ford, Mustang, Think Corvette, Camaro does Charger.
Muscle cars are all about power, speed, and iconic design.
These cars rule the streets in the sixties and seventies
and are still popular among car enthusiasts today. Sports cars

(02:57):
for those who crave luxury and speed. Sports cars like
Porsche nine to eleven and the Ferrari for eighty eight
or the Ultimate Thrill Machines. They're designed performance, sleek designs,
roaring engines and being very very fast and stay on
the road. Family cars from mini vans like the Toyota

(03:17):
Siena to SUVs like the Honda CRV. Family cars are
all about comfort, safety and space. Their go to choice
for road trips, carpools and everyday errands. And we've had
our share of minivans with three kids all go in
different directions and their friends and two dogs. We used

(03:39):
every inch of the mini vans that we had, and
when it was time and we didn't need the minivans anymore,
my wife was so ready to get something else. Anyway,
They definitely fit a purpose. Electric cars or evs, you know,
they're definitely transforming the industry, but I don't think that

(04:01):
they're going to be the go to at least no
time soon. I know that for a while there we
were thinking that, you know, the electric cars were going
to be going to be the be the future and
going to be required. Yeah, I don't think that's going
to happen now. So you're going to have a choice
of one. If you want electric car great, if you
want to stay with the gas powered cars, and absolutely

(04:24):
I'm going to go to pick ups like the Ford
F one fifty and the Chevrolet Silverado our favorites for
the ruggedness and versatility, perfect for towing, hauling, or just
making a statement. Luxury cars. If you're looking for premium features,
look no further than brands like Mercedes, BMW Lexus. These
cars are cutting edge technology, plush interiors, and top notch

(04:48):
performance hybrids and plug in hybrids. For those who want
a mix of tradition and electric power, hybrids like the
Toyota Prius or a great middle ground. My sister in
law has a BMW hybrid, which is absolutely amazing. I mean,
I'm never gonna let go of my gas engine unless

(05:09):
it's a diesel, but I do like the mix. You know,
it's not a plug in and we have to worry
about that it charges itself. I just think that's really cool,
really saves on a lot of gas cars that build
our world. So let's shift gears and talk about vehicles
that do more than just get us from point A
to point B. These are the workhorses that build our

(05:31):
cities and keep the world running. Dump trucks. Dump trucks.
Dump trucks are essential for construction projects. They're designed to
transport large quantities of materials like seeing the gravel and debris.
The hydraulic bed that tips to unload the cargo is
an engineering marble. Bulldozers. I always wanted that to be

(05:55):
My nickname was Bulldozer. These powerful machines are to clearing
land and moving heavy materials. Equipped with massive blades, bulldozers
are the backbone to any major construction project. Cement mixers,
or as we say in the South, cement ever seeing

(06:15):
those trucks with a spinning drum, those are cement mixers,
crucial for transporting and mixing concrete on the Goat cranes,
while technically not a car, cranes are vital for lifting
heavy materials high into the air of modern mobile cranes
are essential trucks with powerful lifting capabilities, so you do

(06:37):
drive them a little bit right and then pickup trucks
beyond personal use, pickups like the Ram fifteen hundred and
the Ford F two fifty, or work site staples. The
combination of strength and practicality makes them indispensable for contractors
and waivers. Interesting facts about cars. Here's some things that

(06:59):
are pretty neat. Did you know the first speeding ticket
was issued in nineteen oh four. The driver was going
twelve miles per hour. I can run a good bit
faster than that. That's crazy. I mean, what were they
scared of? Man? That's crazy. The world's best selling car

(07:21):
is a Toyota Corolla, with over fifty million units sold
worldwide since his debut in nineteen sixty six. Electric cars
aren't as new as you think. The first electric vehicle
was developed in the eighteen thirties, but gasoline engines eventually

(07:43):
overtook them in popularity. Formula one race cars can accelerate
from zero to sixty miles per hour and under two seconds,
a testament to the pinnacle of automotive engineering and some
good tires. Cars are becoming safer every year. Vehicles come
with advanced driver assistance systems like automatic emergency braking and

(08:05):
lane keeping assists future of cars, and this is interesting
Autonomous vehicles. Self driving cars are no longer a thing
of science fiction. Companies like Waimo and Tesla are testing
autonomous technology that could one day eliminate the need for
human drivers. That's cool and scary. We talked about the

(08:31):
electrification of cars. Flying cars, Yes, you heard that right.
Companies like air Car and Terra Terra Fujia. Terrafujia are
working on vehicles that can switch between driving on roads
and flying in the sky. That's pretty cool. Connected cars.

(08:53):
Imagine your car communicating with traffic, lights and other vehicles
and even your homes. Mark cars will integrate seamless into
our digital lives. Will definitely be tracked more that way,
won't we. So that's about you know what I got
for the history of cars. You know, we've explored many

(09:15):
types of vehicles and even looked at how cars help
us build our world. The journey of cars is one
of innovation, excitement, and endless possibilities. Whether you're a gear head,
a casual driver, or just someone who appreciates the beauty
of engineering, there's no denying that cars have shaped the

(09:35):
way we live, work and play. So, if you liked
what we had to say today, if you share this
with some friends, and maybe you guys should get interested
in some cars and go some car shows and things
like that. Now we're going to continue this series, and
we're going to get into some individual cars. So the

(09:57):
next one, we're going to talk about the Chevy Corvette
history and to me, it is one of the most
iconic American cars and I've had one, so I want
to share my experiences with the Corvette and I will
also take a look at the history. All Right, guys,
that's it for me today. I hope you guys have
a great day. We'll talk to you next time. God

(10:17):
bless
