Speaker 1 (00:00):
Welcome back, and can anybody say a Myrtle Beach Myrtle meach.
Gotta love me some Myrtle Beach because that's where we're
going back to Myrtle Beach. I love saying Myrtle Beach.
Growing up in South Carolina my whole life, it's definitely
special to me. Had a lot of good times down
to Myrtle Beach. We call it affectionally dirty Myrtle that

(00:21):
don't take that as a bad thing. It's a fun thing,
and it really is. It's a good time. So we've
talked about the nightlife and the best beaches. We've talked
about how to get there, talked about the beach front
bars and restaurants, which is my favorite, and I just
beat you guys up with that last time. So now

(00:43):
we're going to get into a little more of the
family friendly stuff because Myrtle Beach truly is all about
family and what it has to offer is truly amazing.
So my kid's favorite part of going there. They're probably
too old now, though I bet you they would still
do this in a heartbeat, but it's all about the
water parks and splash zones. So Myrtle Beach's reputation for

(01:07):
sun drenched beaches and thrilling amusement parks extends seamlessly to
its impressive collection of water parks and splash zones. But
there are so many. These aquatic playgrounds offer a welcome
respite from the heat, providing hours of fun for visitors
of all ages. And that's true because I saw my

(01:27):
kids up there, I'm like, you know what, I gotta
do this too. I mean, my back hurt for days,
but man was it fun. And some of those things
are downright fast, from adrebling pumping slide to gentle lazy rivers.
So now I would be born into the Lazier River.
There's a watery adventure waiting for everyone. Understanding the nuances
of each park, however, is crucial to maximizing your enjoyment

(01:50):
and ensuring a safe and memorable experience. So let's get
in the details. Starting with the sheer variety of available
that are available are massive complexes boasting a multitude of attractions,
while others are smaller, more intimate settings ideal for families
with young children. I mean, some of these you don't

(02:11):
want your young kids going on some of these things.
I mean, because it's like mock too with your hair
on fire. It's that fast and it's hard to keep
your head up. And I mean for little kids, little
bitty kids, I know they're going on to do it,
I think twice. One significant factor to consider when choosing
a water park is the age appropriateness of the attractions.

(02:33):
Many parks cleverly segment their offerings, creating areas specifically designed
for toddlers and younger children with shallow pools, small slides,
interactive water features. These designated areas offer a safe and
controlled environment, allowing little ones to enjoy the water without

(02:54):
overwhelming and overwhelming them or placing them in a potential danger.
Parents can rely know when their children are in a
supervised area specifically engineered for their safety and age group.
Look for parks that clearly just you know, make the

(03:17):
zones vary with obvious, right, that's what I want, looking
for obvious with the signage indicating age recommendations and height
restrictions For older children and adults. The thrills escalate exponentially,
and that's true. Many parks feature towering slides with exhilarating twists, turns,

(03:37):
and drops, promising an adrenaline rush. These high octane attractions
cater to thrill seekers, providing a potent dose of excitement.
Descriptions such as free fall, tornado, kamakaze are often used
to tantalize and accurately reflecting the intensity of the experience.

(03:57):
Before embarking on such adventures, it's essential to carefully read
the posted safety guidelines and height weight restrictions. These restrictions
are not arbitrary, they're in place to ensure riders' safety
and prevent accidents. Paying close attention to these details is
crucial for the safety, for your safety, for your kids' safety.

(04:19):
Beyond the thrill rides, many water parks provide gentler options.
Lazy rivers or a popular choice for families, offering a
relaxing float throughout a winding waterway. These typically slower paced
attractions are a perfect way to cool off, enjoy the scenery.
There's some good scenery in Myrtle Beach, and create some

(04:40):
peaceful family time. Floating along the gentle currents is a
relaxing way to spend an afternoon, allowing you to soak
up the sun and enjoy the company of your loved ones.
Inner tubes are usually provided, enhancing comfort and aiding relaxation.
Some lazy rivers even incorporate small rapids or gentle waves

(05:01):
to add a touch of playful excitement without sacrificing the
overall tranquility of the atmosphere. Wavepools represent another popular feature
found in many Myrtle Beach water parks. These artificially created
surf like experiences offer a unique and exciting way to
enjoy the water. Depending on the size and sophistication of

(05:24):
the wavepool, the waves can range from gentle rapids to
significant swells, providing a diverse experience for all skill levels.
These areas often have lifeguards strategically positioned around the perimeter,
constantly monitoring the activities within the wavepool and ensuring the
safety of all participants. But parents, make sure you keep

(05:46):
an eye on to your kids because they are your
responsibility first. Beyond the larger scale attractions, many parks include
additional features designed to enhance the overall experience. These might
include splash paths, interactive water features, and even areas with
smaller slides designed for toddlers and preschool age children. The

(06:07):
inclusion of these supplementary attractions make the water parks more
accommodating for families with children of varying ages. So I
had and I still have. Oldest is eighteen and the
youngest is thirteen. So I mean you got a five
year difference right there. When they were smaller, that was
a big deal. Now they can all pretty much do

(06:28):
the same thing, not that they have any interest in
doing so. Though. Safety is of course paramount at any
water park. Each park has its own set of regulations
and safety procedures, but some common elements are universal. Before
entering any water attraction, always check the posted signs for
height and weight restrictions, as well as other specific instructions.

(06:51):
Lifeguards are strategically positioned, so just being aware of your
surroundings and following all safety instructions is essential for safe
and enjoyable time. The water park experience extends beyond just
the rides. Many parks offer amendency such as food and
beverage concessions, providing a convenient way to refuel during your visit.

(07:13):
Sun loungers and shade areas are typically available for those
needing a break from the sun, allowing you to rest
and recover from returning to the water. Readventures and give
your neck and your back and everything a little break.
Lockers are also often provided, which is important allowing you

(07:35):
to securely store your valuables while you enjoy the attractions.
Consider bringing waterproof bags or cases to protect your phones, cameras,
and other sensitive electronic items from the accidental water damage.
Sunscreen is an absolute must and it makes you go
faster regardless of cloud cover. Apply and liberally and reapply

(07:56):
frequently throughout the day. Just reminded me right of how
many times did you hear your parents say when it
was a cloudy day outside, especially at the beach of
the pool. This is when you get the worst sunburn.
You get more sunburn in a day like this than
just a full on sunny day And whatever, mom and dad.

(08:16):
Sunscreen is an absolute must, so just remember, apply liberally
and reapply frequently throughout the day. Your kids should be
walking around with a white face. You know they hated that,
but pan at least you knew they weren't going to
get a major sunburn. Choosing the right water part for
your family depends on several factors. Obviously, consider the ages

(08:40):
the interests of your children, as well as your own
preferences for thrill levels. Some parks cater specifically to younger
children are for you a gentler and much more relaxed experience,
while others specialize in high intensity thrills for older children
and adults. Researching each park attraction and amenities beforehand will
help you you make any informed decisions and ensure everyone

(09:04):
is in your group is memorable, has a miserable experience
memorable experience. Looking at photos and videos online, reading reviews
from other visitors, and checking the park's official website for
details about opening hours, ticket prices, and any special events.
Highly recommended steps and your planning. I know that sounds basic,

(09:26):
but some people don't think about it and they just
show up beyond the specific attractions and overall ambition, And
actually that's kind of the fun part, getting your kids involved.
You know, hey, look at this Look at this slide.
Would you like to go down this slot? Get them
interested before you even get there. Beyond the specific attractions,
the overall ambience of a water park contributes significantly to

(09:46):
the overall enjoyment. Some parks offer a lively and energetic
atmosphere with music entertainment, while others prioritize a more relaxed,
family friendly environment. Understanding the different atmospheres and choosing one
that all lines with your group's preferences is essential for
a positive experience. Once you've chosen a water park and

(10:09):
have your tickets ready, remember to arrive early to secure
a good parking spot and minimize the time spent waiting
in lines. Utilize the park's amenities to your advantage, take breaks,
stay hydrated, and enjoy the atmosphere. Let's think, get there
right when they open up, man, and you you will
get your rides in like now done. I mean, if
you show up at right after lunch or eleven am,

(10:32):
you're gonna be waiting line. So get their first thing
and get your rides in. Go back to the beach
or something. Remember, the water park experience is meant to
be fun, exciting, and relaxing. By taking these small steps
and planning ahead, you will undoubtedly contribute to creating a
truly enjoyable and memorable experience for your family. The sun,

(10:54):
the water, the laughter. Wait at Myrtle Beach, Baby, Myrtle Beach,
captivating playgrounds, So dive in and make a real splash.
So I mean I do like Myrtle Beach, Man, I
really do the water parks. Every time I took my
kids to the water parks. They absolutely loved it. I mean,
from the youngest to the oldest, we always had a

(11:16):
good time. And these places are big. You know, this
isn't your small town little you know, two slides and
a pool. I mean, this is a real deal. So,
you know, take a look at what's what's out there online,
make your choice, go have a good time. Get your
kids involved in the choosing process, and I guarantee you
they'll be so excited when they get there. They're just

(11:37):
going to have a really good time. So enjoy Myrtle Beach,
have a good time, be careful out there. And now
that the weather's getting so nice and warm, you know what,
Myrtle Beach is a great place for spring break. I'm
not talking about crazy college spring break. I'm talking about
spring break with your family. Because it being in March
right now, high school, public school, private school, those breaks

(12:00):
are coming up. It's a great time to go to
Myrtle Beach. The weather's getting nice, the beach is great,
it won't be crowded. So my advice to you is
go ahead and book that trip to Myrtle Beach because
you're gonna love it. Your kids are gonna love it.
There's so much things to do, and like I said,
it's just not crowded right now. So don't wait until May, June, July, whatever,

(12:21):
go ahead and get there now, get there March or April,
and absolutely gonna love it. It's gonna be. That's the
best advice I've given you yet, So go ahead and
make that happen. I don't care how you get there, trains, cars,
you know, planes, just get there. Just get there. So anyway,
