Speaker 1 (00:00):
Hey y'all, and welcome. Welcome to All Things Myrtle Beach,
the ultimate visitor's guide to one of the best family
beach destinations in America. If you're planning a trip to
the Grand strand, you've come to the right place. We're
talking sun, sand, and NonStop fund for everyone from kids
to grandparents, whether it's catching a live show, finding the

(00:21):
best seafood spot, riding the sky wheel, or just kicking
back on the beach. And that's what I'm all about.
We've got all the inside tips to make your vacation unforgettable.
We'll cover everything from where to stay, what to do,
how to beat the traffic, and even how to make
the most of your time once you're here, and how
to get home without losing You're so packed with the

(00:45):
cool things for the family to do, I mean amazing.
If there was a beach made for families and kids,
it's Myrtle Beach. Just not on Bike or Week and
I've been on that before. Sometimes even I feel uncomfortable
at Bike or Week and I look like a biker.
So I got a whole section on how to pack

(01:07):
for Myrtle Beach. But you know what, I'm not going
to go into all the details there, I'm gonna tell
you straight up. In the summer, Myrtle Beach is hot
and it's humid, and as soon as you get away
from the beach, the breeze stops. Okay, So on the
beach you're okay because you got that. You get that
onshore breeze you get on the other side of the dunes.

(01:29):
In the hotels, man, it's hot and humid, so dress accordingly.
You know, it's not cool in the mornings. You don't
need to layer up. You need to put on the
tank top, your swimsuit or a pair of shorts and
some flip flops. And if you're going to go walk somewhere,
then you need to put on a comfortable pair of

(01:51):
sneakers and go walk around. That's really all you need. So,
you know, I really kind of wanted to get more
into beaches, beaches, the best beaches, because that's what the
Grand Strand is famous for, is the beaches, and that's
why people go there. So I want to get into

(02:11):
those a little bit. So Myrtle Beach boasts a stunning coastline,
and it's beaches are significant draw for visitors. The significant
draw to be honest with you, The variety ensures that
there's a perfect stretch of sand for everyone, and the
beaches are big too, so there is actually sand for everyone,
even in the peak peak season. Myrtle Beach isn't like

(02:33):
the Jersey Shore. You're not towel to towel. There's just
a lot of people from family seeking calm waters for
building sand castles, to thrill seekers eagers to rise some ways.
The exploration this episode is going to dive into the
unique characteristics of several key beaches, offering insights into accessibility,

(02:58):
accessibility and amenities, and the overall beach experience. Let's start
with Myrtle Beach State Park. A true gym for nature lovers.
This expansive park offers three hundred acres of pristine coal
coastline with a beach known for its tranquil atmosphere and
relatively uncrowded stretches of sand. Unlike some of the more

(03:23):
developed areas, Myrtle Beach State Park maintains a more natural feel.
A lot of people don't even know it's there. It's
definitely worth going to check out. It has the dunes
in maritime forests and providing a backdrop of unspoiled beauty.
The park's accessibility is excellent, with paved walkways, ramps, designated

(03:46):
areas for those with disabilities. Amenities include restrooms, showers, picnic areas,
and even a nature center that offers educational programs and exhibits.
The calm water are ideal for swimming, shelling, and simply
relaxing by the ocean's edge. What else could you want

(04:07):
when you're going to the beach. Right It's a fantastic
spot for bird watching, and I like to birdwatch, with
various species frequenting the coastal habitats. For those seeking a
more secluded beach experience, this is an excellent choice. It
may be the only choice, providing a welcome escape from

(04:31):
the bustling crowds found on some of the other beaches.
While there are fewer immediate commercial establishments, the parks well
maintained facilities and serene setting make it a top contender
for a peaceful beach day. The absence of high rise
hotels also contribute to its quiet, nature focused atmosphere. I

(04:54):
recommend arriving early, especially during peak season, to secure a
prime spot. In contrast, the iconic myrtle beach boardwalk and
promenade offer a vibrant and energetic beach experience, and I
love that too. Man. That's where I grew up, right
there was not literally, but when we went on vacation

(05:17):
when I was young, and even in the high school
in Northern College, that's where we wanted to be there,
or the good beaches up in North Myrtle. This section
of the beach is characterized by its lively atmosphere, the
bustling boardwalk lined with shops, restaurants, and attractions. The sand
here is usually quite packed, especially during summer. Accessibility is excellent,

(05:42):
with wide paved walkways catering to strollers, wheelchairs, and other
mobility devices. The boardwalk offers an array of amenities, from
restroom facilities to readily available food and beverages. I mean,
it's just you know, paying go. So however, the crowds

(06:02):
and constant activity can be overwhelming for some visitors seeking tranquility.
So if you're seeking tranquility, I would suggest going to
the park because this is not going to be your place.
But if you're looking for a place, and this is
just from my experience, it's going to be fun, lively,
happening people everywhere, People diverse people from everywhere. You will

(06:26):
see it here on the boardwalk. So this section is
ideal for those enjoying a more lively atmosphere, with plenty
of entertainment options within walking distance, including watching other people.
The direct access to the pier provides excellent opportunities for fishing,

(06:47):
viewing the ocean, and enjoying the lively ambiance of the boardwalk.
The beach itself can get crowded, especially during the weekend
and holidays. This is not a location for a peaceful solitude,
but rather an immersion in the vibrant energy of Myrtle Beach.
This is what Myrtle Bee is all about. For the
most part, I highly recommend visiting this area in the

(07:09):
early morning or late evening to avoid the biggest crowds.
Heading south, we find Cherry Growth offering a more laid
back alternative to the central areas, while still boasting excellent
amenities and accessibility. Cherry Grove a Beach provides a more

(07:29):
relaxed five. The wide expanse of sand provides ample space
for spreading out and enjoying the sun. The area is
popular with families due to its calmer waters. The beach
offers easy access to various restaurants and shops, offering a
convenient blend of relaxation and access to amenities. Parking can

(07:52):
be a bit of a challenge, particularly during peak season,
so arriving early or utilizing public transportation is high recommended
one can find calmer waters for swimming. In comparison to
certain parts of the main Myrtle Beach strip still offers
the quintessential Myrtle Beach experience, but in the more relaxed

(08:12):
and less crowded atmosphere. The absence of some of the
high rise hotels closer to the pier contributes to the
more laid back atmosphere. There's still plenty of hotels right there, though,
believe me. Further south, like Surfside Beach, it's a charming
coastal community known for its family friendly environment and more
relaxed atmosphere. Seraciz is awesome. This is a great choice

(08:36):
for those who prefer a less congested beach. The sand
is typically soft and fine, ideal for building sand castles
and strolling along the shore. The town itself is less
commercial and has more central areas, so it maintains a
more quiet and peaceful character. This makes it better choice

(09:00):
for families who want a relaxing beach vacation free from
the hustle and bustle of Myrtle Beach's main attractions. The
calm waters make it suitable for children, and ample beach
space allows for spreading out and enjoying it more intimate settings.
The amenities are plentiful enough de cater to most needs,

(09:22):
but the overall feel is less commercial and more residential,
creating a relaxing and wealthy and ask. There's plenty, plenty
of restaurants. There's plenty of stores. There's plenty of everything
you need, little beach stores and stuff like that. Surf shops.
They're all right there. There's everything you need. It's just
a little more laid back. Finally, let's consider the quieter

(09:43):
stretches of beach north of the main city area. These
are often a more secluded experience, the less commercial development
and more natural feel. This may be less accessible by
public transportation, requiring a car. The amenities available in these
northern sections are more limited, but they provide a haven

(10:05):
for those seeking peace and quiet. The lack of immediate
commercial establishments contribute to the serene atmosphere, making These spots
ideal for those who wish to escape the hustle and
bustle of the more crowded areas. Expect to find a
significant significantly fewer crowds, making this area perfect for those

(10:25):
who appreciate a quiet and tranquil beach experience. This can
be a unique experience and is highly recommended for visitors
seeking to break from the lively and somewhat overwhelming atmosphere
of the central Myrtle Beach areas. These northern stretches offer
a different kind of beauty, one that is emphasizes nature

(10:47):
and solitude. In summary, Myrtle Beach is diverse. Beaches cater
to a wide range of preferences and activities. Whether you
crave the vibrant energy of the boardwalk, the tranquill the
train equility of Myrtle Beach State Park, the family atmosphere
of surfside Beach, or the secluded charm of the northern beaches,

(11:07):
you're sure to find the perfect stretch of sand to
create unforgettable memories. Each beach offers its own unique ambiance, amenities,
and the level of accessibilities, ensuring that there's a perfect
coastal experience for every type of traveler. Choosing the right
beach will significantly enhance the overall experience of your Myrtle

(11:28):
Beach vacation. Careful consideration of your preferences, needs, and priorities
such as proximity to amenities, crowd level, water, calmness, and
overall atmosphere will ensure you make the most out of
your beach days in Myrtle Beach. Remember to check the
weather forecast before you go and pack accordingly, like I've

(11:48):
touched on earlier. Most importantly, enjoy the beauty and tranquility
of the Atlantic coastline. Remember to always practice beach safety,
respecting the environment, and adhere to all posted regulations. So
happy beach combing, happy beach going, happy surfing surfing, happy
sand castle making, happy relaxing. Just go and enjoy it.

(12:11):
Figure out which best for you, which beach, and just
go get it done. That's what it's all about. So
you guys, enjoy your Myrtle Beach trip. I got more
for you next time. Until then, God bless
