Speaker 1 (00:08):
Kate Delaney coming up. Five service members rescued after a
military aircraft plunges into contestant waters and Nimit's nightmare, you
might say, plus your thoughts as we hit the mail
bag what happened this week in the NFL. But before
we get to all those things, we start off each
and every show with a rundown. The biggest thing everybody's

(00:37):
talking about is Hurricane Melissa, forecast to become a rare
Cat five. You just heard what I said, Cat five,
and it's supposed to hit landfall in Jamaica. I just
was there in May. This island will not survive this floods,
mud slides. If hits as a Cat five, there is

(01:01):
going to be casualty. Sad to say. I loved my
time there. I loved going up the historic waterfall. The
people were great. I went to Reggae Hill and I
wanted to go to Jamaica my whole life. Finally did it.
And this makes me so so sad, which I would
have been anyway. So Melissa has intensified going into Sunday morning,

(01:24):
it turned into a Cat four hurricane, one hundred and
forty five mile an hour winds. It's so rare to
get a CAT five, but that's what's being predicted, that
it could be a Cat five when it makes landfall
in Jamaica on Tuesday morning. The center of the hurricane
is located about one hundred and twenty five miles south

(01:46):
of Kingston, Jamaica. The storm is moving westward very slowly.
This is the danger. I just went through this myself
last year when we dealt with back to back hurricanes
in the Great State of Florida on the Gulf, and
I saw what damage happened one hundred miles away. So
in Jamaica, they're telling everyone get to shelter. Damaging winds,

(02:09):
heavy rainfall Monday, catastrophic, life threatening flash floods, numerous landslides,
potentially devastating winds arriving Monday night and Tuesday. There are
Americans that are on the island, people vacationing, people love Jamaica,
people that couldn't get on the last flight. From what
I'm told from somebody, I know how many numbers. I

(02:30):
don't know any of that. Cruise ships were rewrapped, of
course all of that, but it's the people that are
there on the islands and those that are very close
to it too, because it's going to impact part of
Haiti for sure. It could hit some of the other
areas Bahamas, some of the Bahamas, some of the islands there,
heavy rainfall several days. I mean, it's going to be

(02:54):
catastrophic unless there's a miracle and somehow it makes another turn,
it makes some kign of a turn. But it does
not look like it. It absolutely looks, absolutely looks like
it's gonna be the epicenter for the worst of the
triple threat of the extreme as I just mentioned, the wind,
the flooding, the storm surge, which I can attest to.

(03:16):
The surge is God awful, boy, God help those people.
Here's what one man was saying, who's scurrying around trying
to bat in the hatches as best as he could,
And I think he echoes the sentiment of the others
that are doing the same thing ourselves.

Speaker 2 (03:33):
Compared we don't know, hoping for the best, that it
don't come.

Speaker 1 (03:37):
See, he said, we're hoping for the best. We don't know.
And that's the thing. You know the warnings, you know
it's coming towards you. But this isn't This isn't like
even being in the United States and saying, Okay, we're
getting in the car, we're going over the bridges, we're
getting out. No, we're talking about people that are on
an island. That's what we're talking about here on an island.
So obviously this is the conversation so many people have

(03:59):
had with me because we know what hurricane damage has done,
we know what it's like, and we saw what happened
last year with Helene and just the things that happened
in North Carolina, etc. So fresh on the minds of
everybody because that was a year ago.

Speaker 3 (04:17):
Right.

Speaker 1 (04:20):
Meanwhile, the government no end in sight to this government
shut down. It's the same old, same old part of
the conversation in the Sunday Swirl, which is the talking
political heads on the tube, and we're not hearing really
anything different. Here's House Minority Leader Hakim Jeffries on, no
way will the Dems agree to continuing resolution.

Speaker 4 (04:41):
As Democrats, we've made the case that we are not
going to support a partisan, republican spending bill that continues
to gut the healthcare of the American people in an
environment where the cost of living in this country is
already too high. Donald Trump promised to lower cost on
day one costs having gone down, they're going up. Electricity
bills are through the roof, housing costs are up, inflation

(05:04):
is up, grocery costs are up. And now tens of
millions of people in Georgia and in beyond are facing
the very real possibility that they will be unable to
afford a doctor when they need one. We're talking about
a situation where many people will confront increased healthcare cost
of one thousand to two thousand dollars per month. That's

(05:27):
twelve to twenty four thousand dollars in additional cost per year,
when more than ninety percent of the people who receive
Affordable Care att tax credits make around sixty two thousand
dollars a year. It's unaffordable, it's unsustainable, and it's unconscionable.
That's why we are demanding that our Republican colleagues sit
back down at the table.

Speaker 1 (05:50):
Yeah, that is frightening when you think about one thousand
to two thousand a month. Look, in this country, healthcare
has not been affordable for most people period. That was
part of the problem. Even Republicans were working on that,
Republicans and Democrats, and this is continuing to be the thing.
That is always the theme, I think in my entire lifetime,

(06:10):
certainly since I've been behind this microphone, this has been
the discussion I've had with Republicans, It's been the discussion
I've had with Democrats, and now here we are again
with the same problem and no end in sight. Meanwhile,
the Secretary of the Treasury, Scott Bessant, says the troops
are not going to be paid after November fifteenth if

(06:31):
the shutdown continues, because no money snap feeding the kids
that from the poor families that can afford it, that's out.
As of November first, air traffic controllers are not being paid.
So there was a problem at LAX because there was
a little bit of a call in, so for a

(06:52):
couple of hours in the morning on Sunday couldn't have
any action at LAX, one of the biggest airports. Nobody
could land, but it could take off because you didn't
have air traffic controls two dangerous, two to dangerous. So
Bessett says, it's a global embarrassment what the Democratic senators
are doing keeping the government shut down. He said, I mean,

(07:14):
look at the numbers. It's fifty two to three, fifty
two to three. You know, fifty two Republican senators and
three Democratic senators have crossed the line. So I just
think it's an embarrassment. I think we're going to see
the same thing throughout this entire week. I do not
see the government reopening, not based on any conversations I've had,

(07:35):
not based on anything you and I are all seeing
across the board. Guess what they caught some of the
thiefs from the Louver heighst kind of pink pantherish if
you will, Yes, I mean, how does that happen? They

(08:00):
picked up two of them. Two people were arrested in
connection with the theft of the Crown jewels from the
Louver Museum. So it was just a week ago when
that happened. Good news there. They didn't confirm much more
than that. They're being very tight lipped about it. They
just say that it's two men in their thirties, both
known to police. They were taken into custody. One was

(08:23):
arrested when he was trying to board a plane for Algeria.
How about that? The other one was identified through DNA,
and I guess this one was two forensic experts have
been all over this the suspects could be held in
police custody for up to ninety six hours. You know
it took them less than eight minutes to steal the jewels,

(08:43):
valued at one hundred and two million bucks last Sunday.
Going deeper next.

Speaker 5 (08:51):
Let's see if something costs less but people are happier
with it. That sounds like something to look into, and
that is meta Share. Maybe you've heard switching to me
to share to pay for healthcare can save many families
up to five hundred bucks a month, and that is huge.
But it's also true that people are way more satisfied
after making the switch too. The members satisfaction rate for
meta share is double that of the typical health insurance plan.

Speaker 6 (09:14):
Double.

Speaker 5 (09:15):
Meta share works too. It's been around for thirty years.
Members have shared more than five billion dollars of each
other's bills. People love having telehealth and a huge nationwide
PPO network. So yeah, really, you can save a ton
and like it better. Imagine being happy with how you're
taking care of your healthcare. So if you're self employed
or part of the gig economy, or you just want
to plan you're happy with, you can call right now.

(09:36):
You'll get a price within two minutes, so see what
you can say. This is a very very smart use
of two minutes. Here's the number you need call eight
five five share forty. That's eight five five share forty,
eight five five Share forty.

At Hotshot Secret, we share the science behind common diesel problems.
For example, sticktion engine oil can break down under extreme heat,
leaving behind varnish, a carbon based deposit that creates drag
on the engines moving parts. This sticky friction is stiiction.
Symptoms include a rough idol and the loss of fuel
economy and performance. Hotshot Secret stiiction eliminator is formulated to

Speaker 1 (12:14):
All right, we're going deeper on this government shutdown and
what does it mean and what as we continue to
go this direction, how could it all end? And the
answer to that is it's gonna end badly however it ends.
But this is the same song and dance that we've
been hearing for a long time, let's face it, and

(12:38):
now it's worse because so many people are feeling the squeeze. Seriously,
you go shopping. It's like I went shopping today and
you know it was it was chili. It was horrmale
chili and it was almost five bucks a can, like
a small can of chili. I was like, what.

Speaker 3 (12:59):
Uh?

Speaker 1 (13:00):
So we're having everything collide at once, and a government
shut down with no end in sight and people not
getting paychecks is simultaneously affecting so many people in so
many different directions. And the way this thing ends to me,

(13:22):
and what it will probably I'm saying probably will happen,
is that it could be the nuclear option, something that
has been batted around a little bit, because that would
change the numbers. So if you look at this week,
which I still think the government will be shut down

(13:45):
through this week, but the stock market is having this
record setting rally, right, But then you look at the
Federal reserve and interest rate decisions, right, and now we've
got this prolonged government shutdown on top of it. So

(14:06):
what happens on Wednesday with the interest rates is a
big thing. What happens with the government continued shutdown is
a big deal. And will the street, the world's largest
craps table, continue to roll in the direction of gimme, gimme,
gimme where it's on a super high I mean, a

(14:28):
record setting run in October, even with bouts of volatility
from the shutdown to the tariff conversations and what was
going to happen there and the high anxiety over that
that was continuing, right, But know, the markets have pushed

(14:50):
to some pretty high levels. So what does the Fed
decision do? And it has a lot to do with
what happens with credit card interest rates, what happens with mortgages,
all of that. Because the word that keeps coming up
is somebody asked me this in a Friday meeting, did

(15:13):
I think there was going to be a recession? And
the person who said to me just said, hey, listen,
no explanation, just tell me recession or not, you know,
valuing actually my judgment and what I thought looking at
all the economic data, So the markets are moving and

(15:34):
with interest rates, what does that mean over the short term?
And what does it mean if the government stays shuttered,
And that's the wild card in this whole thing, that's
the kicker in all of it. So to me, I
think there is the possibility because of the political uncertainty,

(15:56):
there is the possibility that there could be what they
call the nuclear option. If that happens, then if the
votes jump to the other side, well then there's going
to be a continuing resolution because everything is so susceptible
to these moves in reaction to data, right, And the

(16:19):
longer longer you wait, the worse it gets. The longer
you wait the resumption of the economic data releases, will
you know, even the end of the government shutdown, which
doesn't have any end insight. Unless they do that, it
will kind of trigger some market volatility probably. And then

(16:42):
you have next week the president and Chinese President she
who are scheduled to meet on Thursday on the sidelines
of the Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation Summit. As they're trying
to dial down to tensions, and it looks like that

(17:02):
is happening. So boy, there is so much at stake.
And then you think of so many people who are
teetering in this in this spot where how long can
they continue to go without pay checks? Because I've said

(17:23):
this before, we all know it, you know, geez, people
might feel badly for you, but when you have a mortgage,
do you have a mortgage? Do and you suffer the consequences,
and so does your credit when you don't pay it.
When you have to feed a family, there's your biggest thing.
You have to feed your family. You gotta feed your family, right,
So it just will constantly, it'll just bump against all

(17:46):
of those people again and again and again and again.
I mean, look, we're talking about what twenty seven days
for this government shutdown or we're swinging into the twenty
seventh day on Monday, and the both sides are entrenched
in their spots over the second longest funding lapse in history.

(18:07):
The Senate adjourned on Thursday, they didn't come back or
are not coming back till Monday afternoon. So we know
it's going to stretch a little bit into next week.
For sure, We've had this funding bill that's been thrown
up twelve times and it's never passed. I mean, of
course in the twelve times obviously, and you've got people

(18:28):
that are again not being paid, and we're seeing the
shortage of air traffic controllers that are causing flight delays
for Phoenix and San Diego and Los Angeles. In New York,
they've had problems. Remember earlier in the month I told
you about Burbank Airport in LA and they had to

(18:48):
outsource their air traffic control to another San Diego company
for a bunch of hours because it was opening without
any air traffic controllers. So it's just flip a coin
as to what happens. And of course Massachusetts, for example,
is a good place to look at for the snap benefits.

(19:09):
So federal money for food stamps is frozen on November
first because of the government shutdown. That would translate to
anybody that's getting snapped. But one million people in Massachusetts
will have to find food. Wow, one million people. So
you have the United Way, you have different food banks

(19:31):
that will respond and step up, but they can only
go so far too, so they're trying to raise money
to figure out what are we going to do? The House,
by the way, formally canceled the Monday votes of course,
because they're going to be out of session most likely
all of next week unless there's a deal to end
the shutdown and members get like forty eight hours notice

(19:54):
before there's any votes in the House. So you just
have that texts that come suddenly in the middle of
the night. Oh guess what come back to Washington? Yeah,
I mean, you know, And so what do you do
if people that are in these offices who normally would
have received a paycheck on Friday, and they the last

(20:16):
time a lot of them were paid was October tenth,
And if they're an essential worker and they report to
the offices daily during the government shutdown, they're certainly not
having time to go search for another job, and they're
not eligible for unemployment. So the stalemate in Congress going

(20:38):
into these many weeks and not knowing when you're gonna
get paid. Wow, can you imagine the anxiety that you
would feel. Sure, because the employees who are furloughed can
collect unemployment, but employees who are essential and have to
work without pay cannot collect unemployment. So that means you

(21:00):
you still define your way to work. Put gas in
the car, get on the train, whatever it is, put
kids in daycare, and they're not going to take your
kids if you don't pay. And you're talking about six
hundred and seventy thousand federal employees are furloughed, and then
seven hundred and thirty thousand other government employees deemed essential,

(21:20):
like air traffic controllers, Transportation Security Administration officers are again
that group that works without pay. And what is their
whatever their income is. I'm sure it varies obviously, but
the mortgages, the creditors. I mean, I think people are

(21:41):
scrambling and they're asking for leniency, and I don't know.
Maybe there's some companies that would do that, but I
would have to think many of them couldn't do that
either because they've got they've got to be able to
pay their staffs, et cetera. So you can't continue with
an IOU wow. By the way, uh, Chuck Schumer says

(22:04):
Senate Democrats will force votes on the tariffs next week
because remember President Trump announced Thursday night that he would
be cutting off trade talks with Canada due to an
ad campaign by the Province of Ontario that featured a
speech by President Ronald Reagan. In fact, we're talking about
that next. That is part of the Weekly Rewind. Meet

(22:28):
you there, So we're gonna take a look back at

(23:01):
the week that was. And it was a very big week,
a big shocker in the NBA. We'll get to that.
I mean, there was investigations going on, but how far
widespread this gambling has been and it's making other professional
leagues take a look at what's going on because we
live in the world of gambling now legalized sports betting,

(23:23):
and this is what some people would be wagging their
finger about. This is what could happen, and it's what
happened in the NBA with a few people. Let's put
it that way. So it is time for the Weekly Rewind. Canada,

(23:45):
Oh Canada. I had to memorize that song once because
I lost a bet. There was a terrif ad And
I know I told this story, but I'm gonna say
it again because you didn't hear it. I was watching
the Toronto Blue Jays game with the Hubs and I said,
when the terror with Reagan's voice droning about how terrible
tariffs were across these horrible pictures, and it was coming

(24:07):
out of Canada. I said, Oh, I said, this is
I guarantee the President's probably watching this game, and I
think he's gonna flip out about this. And because because
it stopped both of us, we stopped talking. We watched
it for sure. And I'm going to let you hear
that ad and then talk about what happened with the
president and the relationship and where it's going nowhere with

(24:28):
tariffs with Canada.

Speaker 3 (24:31):
HI tariffs inevitably leave to retaliation by foreign countries and
the triggering of fierce trade wards. Then the worst happens.
Marcut shrink and collapse, business as and industry shut down
and millions of people lose their jobs.

Speaker 1 (24:48):
All right, So because of that ad, the President went
on to truth Social and said it was outrageous the
way that was manipulated, and that he this came out
of Ontario, and that he was going to hike tariffs
on Canada in response to the anti tariff ad and

(25:10):
that's exactly what he did. In fact, on Saturday he
announced he's raising them by another ten percent because of
the Ontario AD. So, so you know those ads and
behind them. Doug Ford, the premiere in Ontario, was furious

(25:31):
about the tariffs, says it's ridiculous what's happening with the
United States, and that it's the tariff thing in general
is not a win for the people of Canada. Here's
what he said.

Speaker 2 (25:42):
The only people that win and a tariff for are
the people around the world that don't necessarily see eyed
eye with us and with the United States.

Speaker 1 (25:54):
See there you go. So the President had threatened to
cut off trade talks altogether with Canada on Thursday over
the AD because it misrepresented Reagan's comments and was being
used to influence the US Supreme Court ahead of a
hearing on the administration's tariffs next month. And then in response,
you just heard the premiere Doug Ford, you know, talking

(26:15):
about it there and what the deal was with tariffs.
But now over the weekend he did acquiesce and he
said he would call off the campaign effective on Monday.
But guess what. The AD still ran Friday night during
the first game of the World Series, which is exactly
what the President said in his Saturday posts saying the

(26:36):
AD was to be taken down immediately. But then the
AD ran again on Saturday night in Game two of
the World Series that was in Toronto. So that's when
the President then said, Okay, here's an additional ten percent
tariff on Canada. This is our punitive measure in response

(27:00):
to this ad campaign because of the misrepresentation of the
facts and hostile act. I'm increasing the tariff on Canada
by that amount, over and above what they're paying. Now. Wow,
I bet Doug Ford got a little bit of pressure
to take everything down. I mean, US tariffs on Canada

(27:23):
currently are thirty five percent, energy products ten percent, but
goods that comply with the US Mexico Canada Trade Agreement
are carved out of the duties, meaning about eighty five
percent of Canadian exports to the US come in tariff free.
So tariff free people. So Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney

(27:44):
has removed most of the retaliatory tariffs that his predecessor,
Justin Trudeau had imposed. So where does this stand now?
The US is Canada's largest trading partner in Canada? Is
this second largest for the US. You've got bilateral trade

(28:04):
and goods reaching seven hundred and sixty two billion in
twenty twenty four. Now, what's not included in the USMCA
trade deal. It's like some agriculture, some energy goods for sure.

Speaker 10 (28:23):
Wow.

Speaker 1 (28:24):
Wow. Wow, Wow, what's in an ad What can an
ad to? I think Doug Ford is caught in a
really bad position in Canada because if it's that's gonna
jack up people who are gonna have more problems with that.
All right, speaking of being jacked up, I think it's

(28:47):
crazy to think with some of these people in the
NBA who were superstars in this NBA gambling scandal, it's
crazy to think and maybe maybe not crazy if you
think people have gambling problems. But how does Chauncey Billups,

(29:09):
who is the coach of Portland, get into the middle
of this and tanking a game or a couple of games.
How does Terry Rogier, who's playing for a couple of
different teams, how does he find himself in the middle
of this by tipping off people and telling them what
he was going to do to get out of a
game so that they should bet a certain way on

(29:32):
him on the over or the under right. So the
NBA is in the middle of a significant gambling scandal
that involves illegal sports betting and also, by the way,
rigged poker games because some of the NBA superstars were
what they call fish to pull in the other players
that were moneyed people in these games, these under the

(29:57):
table games where they were being completely ripped off by
the mob. I mean by the mob mob by like
the Gambinos, the Luks family, the Banano family. Wow, here
is this is all part of the rewind. This is
Jessica Tish, New York City Police Commission on the Gaming Crackdown,

(30:18):
an investigation.

Speaker 11 (30:20):
The first case, Operation Nothing but Bet, exposed a gambling
ring built around professional basketball where players and associates allegedly
used inside information to manipulate manipulate prop bets on major
sports betting platforms. They placed wagers on unders on players
to score less, rebound less, assist less, using information that

(30:45):
was not yet public. In some instances, players altered their
performance or took themselves out of games to make sure
that those bets paid out.

Speaker 1 (30:56):
Yeah, so you think of Miami Heat guard Terry roo
who was at the time where one of them they
cracked down on and was playing for another team. So
Rogier is accused of providing insider information about his game participation,
exiting a game early to benefit from, like I said,
prop bets by his associates. The investigation showed that he

(31:16):
and other players had significant bets on games involving the
Hornets and other teams for Chauncey Billups. He's implicated in
a separate investigation involving rigged poker games linked to organized
crime that I mentioned those big families. The FBI alleges
that he and Damon Jones participated in these high state

(31:37):
games where technology was used to cheat players. They had
rigged shuffling machines and devices that could read the cards,
so they knew what they had. Wow. So then the
problem becomes the integrity of the league, and that's the
things that are being questioned. And it comes after the

(31:58):
NBA had embraced for betting following a twenty eighteen Supreme
Court ruling that allowed its legalization. So the league has
benefited from sponsorships related to sports betting a ton of it.
That makes it really damning even more damning. Following the arrest,
both Billips and Rogier were placed on indefinite leave by

(32:20):
the NBA. The league is facing a lot of scrutiny
over its gambling policies and the potential for future implications
with this investigation of course continuing. Wow, And of course
there were other people. There are other people named in
this and it was a really huge story obviously coming

(32:40):
out of last week, and still one of the biggest
stories is what I talked about in the beginning of
the hour. This is part of what was talked about
throughout the weekend, is the government shutdown and the implications
of more people not being paid still and air traffic

(33:01):
control towers not being staffed, and all of the dominoes
that are starting to fall. Here's what the president and
every week and every other day he has a comment
on it. But here's what he said at the tail
end of last week.

Speaker 3 (33:16):
We will not be extorted on this crazy plot of this.

Speaker 12 (33:20):
They've never done this before, nobody has. You always vote
for an extension.

Speaker 3 (33:25):
Chuck Schumer and the Senate Democrats need to vote for
the clean bipartisan cr and reopen our Government's got to
be reopened right now.

Speaker 1 (33:35):
Yeah, it's not being reopened and it won't be reubined
on Monday, that's for sure. Tuesday, Nope, who knows what
happens Wednesday. I think Wednesday's an interesting day, hump day.
Could there be something that shifts. Maybe it still feels
like the whole week to be But you know, I
can only read the tea leaves so far, and I

(33:57):
can only talk to aids and people I know where
they don't know either. I mean, that's kind of what
it is. What's gonna happen that's different is something And

Did you know that healthy arteries make a gas? Yes,
actually three known gas is hi, I'm doctor Mitch, and
nitric oxide is a gas that's readily made all day
long to keep our arteries open by relaxing the black
vessel walls. By doing this, our circulation is increased, bringing blood, oxygen,

(35:06):
and nutrients to every part of your body. Both age
and poor diet can lead to a loss of this
precious gas, and in turn, blood pressure can go up,
energy can go down, and you can get tingling in
your hands and feet well. Our product Ultimate nitric Oxide
can easily help fix this lack of nitric oxide. Go

Speaker 12 (38:01):
You have mailed mistress.

Speaker 6 (38:02):
Let's dig in.

Speaker 10 (38:03):
The mail bag.

Speaker 1 (38:06):
All right, let's dig in that mail bag. This one
is from Todd Listening to us in Brownwood, Texas, So
that would have to be k x Y L one
two point three FM. I love that Pete calls you
each and every week. I'm kind of jealous. I don't know, Pete.

(38:29):
Brownwood is kind of a big, small little place, Kate,
But I promise I will call in or at least
send you an email. I'm usually working when you do
nail the score. But how about those lame Cowboys losing
to the Denver Broncos. Once again, it's the defense that

(38:49):
does not pick things up, and of course the Cowboys
not scoring a couple times in the red zone did
not help the situation either. But what do you think
the fate of the Cowboys is the rest of the season.
Jerry Jones seems to think they are just one player
off on the defense. You mean the one he traded
Mike Apartment, Well, didn't trade the one he let go

(39:11):
Micah Parsons. I think that they're not gonna finish in
the playoffs.

Speaker 3 (39:18):
No.

Speaker 1 (39:20):
Three four one, three four and one right now, And
then you think of the other games that they're playing
on I look at the rest of their schedule and
it does seem like the offense has done some things
right lately, though. Dak Prescott had a couple of interceptions
during the day against Denver at you know, on the road.
But they have the worst defense in the league. So

(39:44):
you know, you kind of answered the question, But how
do you defense wins championships? You gotta have a defense rolling, too,
and the defense is not rolling. So the Cowboys don't
have an easier schedule that's not changing, and like they've
got so next, they've got the Cardinals at home. I
think win the Cardinals. I think they beat the Raiders,

(40:05):
so that's hey, they pick up two there. But then
they have the Eagles, the Chiefs, the Lions, the Vikings,
the Chargers, who knows what the Commanders. I think that's
a coin flip too. But yeah, they're not going to
the playoffs. That's what I feel pretty confident in saying that.
I hate to burst your ball if you were thinking
that maybe there'd be some kind of miracle. Anything can
happen on any given Sunday, though of course we do

(40:27):
know that it's funny. I got another question about football,
and this one is from Max listening to us WOGO radio.
Chippewall Falls that would be in Wisconsin, He's my fantasy player,
my favorite one, and plus I love my Packers. How

(40:50):
about Tucker Kraft Kate Delaney, he certainly helped get it
done against the Steelers and the pack My pack picks
up their fifth. I'm liking what I'm seeing. You should
like what you're seeing. It was such a low scoring
game in the beginning of it, wasn't it? And it
was tit for tat and boring. And you're right, Tucker Craft,

(41:10):
what did he have? Two touchdowns? The one the second
one he had for twenty four yards was sweet. But yeah,
I would feel good about that that win, for sure.
You know, it's tough to play in Steeler Country. They're
so loud you can't even hear yourself. I've been in
that stadium a couple times and I can't even hear

(41:31):
the person next to me. So it was loud. Yeah, Packers,
great win for them, absolutely, But then again, it's the
same thing. You got to look down the barrel of
the rest of what is coming up for the Packers.
What is that? You know, what is their schedule the
rest of the the rest of the way. But Jordan

(41:52):
Love passed for three and sixty yards three touchdowns, he
outdueled his former mentor. You might say that was a
big win for the Packers on Sunday night. And they've
had how many wins in a row? Three wins in
a row. And now they've got a couple of home games.
They got the Panthers and the Eagles will be challenging.

(42:15):
Then they have a Patsy in the Giants, and then
they've got the Vikings, which I think they beat the Vikings.
And I don't know they they're gonna finish strong, that
they're gonna finish strong. Although you didn't ask me for predictions.
You were just telling me about the players. All right,
let's go to something else. Let's go to Terry. Who's
listening to us in Connecticut. WGC fourteen ninety am must

(42:36):
be that station. Wow, I cannot believe what I'm seeing
when I keep hearing about Kate. What's gonna hit Jamaica.
I don't know if people realize this or not for
people who haven't been there, but it is a great,
great Western carib being place to visit, and I fear

(43:00):
that none of us will be able to visit anytime
soon after the after this hurricane smashes into it. I
worry more about the people though, frankly, than tourism. But
they make their livelihood on tourism and this just could
flatten that island completely. If you're talking about this Cat five,

(43:22):
the amount of flooding and mud slides and you know
everything that's going to get thrown at it, it's monstrous.
As somebody who has dealt with hurricanes in my life,
I've never been through five and I've never been through
a four. But I've been through some pretty intense ones
and close to a four. So it's it is dicey

(43:43):
unless there is some kind of a miracle turn somewhere.
But it doesn't look that way. It's doing that slow
dance that makes it that much worse. Yeah, that's the problem.
You didn't want it to slow down. So you know
they were telling everybody seeks shelter, get higher ground. You know,
I mean the center of the hurricane. I already said
this is about one hundred and twenty five miles south

(44:05):
of Kingston, Jamaica. So this is not Yeah, this is
not good. No, not at all. And because I've gone
through it and I didn't go through A five, I
thought there was a chance I could go through a
five and even a four. And I was freaked about
the whole thing, the back to back. It was outrageous,

(44:26):
the things that happened people around me with all the
destruction still not built up. And so I know from
that point of view, but wow, I mean, just looking
at it just I mean, I think the way it
looks now with its slow movement and the band, it
is a five. I mean it is a five. I

(44:47):
hope not, but it's by the time it gets to
like when it goes over Guantanamo, if it stays on
that projected path, it'll be like a two on the
on the scale. But you know what that means. I
mean this surge because you're gonna get everything. You're gonna
get the surge, you can get, the wind, You're gonna
get all of it, the flooding, the mud slides, all

(45:08):
of it, all of it, all of it. Let's move
to another one. Let's get another one in here real quick.
Dave listening to us, and I love this place. Do
Saint Louis, Missouri on k l I S the Low
Information Station, Kate Delaty. There's so many things that I
want to talk about, but I guess I just have
to pick one, and the one that I pick is

(45:33):
you have to admit, of all the things that are happening,
the thing that I enjoy seeing the best, because I
do think they're stopping drug runners is all these boats
that have been blown to bits and just keeping the
cartels trash away from our shores. Because as you know,

(45:53):
as you covered ice in the past, and you've been
on drug raids before, there is always another scam, another
way to get drugs to our shores. So anytime that
they can be stopped, I think is a very very
good thing. We don't need more people that die from

(46:13):
fentanyl overdoses or whatever else they're serving up. I totally
agree with you. Yeah, I'm not going to disagree with that. Yeah, anything,
because there's always trickery. And you're right, you've been paying attention.
I've been there, I've seen the tunnels. I've been on
a couple of rage. You're right, it's crazy. It's crazy

(46:35):
the way when you think you have it nailed down,
something different, complete, something completely different happens. There's another way
to do it right. And frankly, I'm kind of surprised
about the boats because the boat thing was sort of
that sort of stopped a little bit, but yeah, all right,
let's go. Thanks for all the emails. Let's go to
the pre market bell.

Speaker 6 (46:58):
Good news.

Speaker 1 (46:58):
Stock futures are that's flymbing ahead of big tech earnings,
so that's what the week's about. And also the expected
FED rate cut on Wednesday. That's a very big, big day.
So Dow futures up point sixty percent, SMP futures up
point seventy six percent, Nasdaq futures up point ninety nine percent.

(47:21):
Oil is up higher than it was last week when
we spoke sixty one dollars sixty four cents right now.
Like I said, there's no doubt when you look at
the things that we're watching this week. Earnings for sure,
the deal with China is a very very big deal.

(47:41):
So that's a good thing. And there are other things
that are happening over the horizon. I mean, China's industrial
profits searched over twenty one percent in September. That's our
biggest jump in two years. This meeting of President Trump
and President she that's a huge. So I'm looking for

(48:01):
a really solid solid start end to October and start
to November. We will see. Thanks all of you for listening.
To this hour of the show, and Daniel Knzerski for
his excellent work on the technicals, as always one of
the Minnesota Two. Keep it tight, keep it real, and

(48:22):
for goodness sake, make it count. My friends,
