Speaker 1 (00:12):
We were all bracing to hear what happened for the
impact for the people of Jamaica. Then on to Cuba,
which is where Melissa is headed. Hey, everybody, I'm Kate
Delaney coming up on this show.
Speaker 2 (00:24):
We will go.
Speaker 1 (00:25):
Into the man cave and we've got the mail bag
and the pre market bell. In this hour, Poyt had
some crazy thoughts on a few things, plus a conversation
with a really cool guy author's corner, Reverend Baranski. What
happened when his daughter was paralyzed at eighteen and what
course did his life take. But first, we always start
(00:48):
off with a rundown here on atn Yeah, so Hurricane
Melissa turned over boats, pushed them ashore into the middle
of streets. There was down the power lines, for sure.
There were trees that were ripped out of the ground, uprooted.
(01:12):
There was metal strewn about. There were hospitals that you
couldn't even go down the street to get out of
the hospital or get to the hospital. It looked different
in the daylight. Who knows what that's going to look like.
But there are seven confirmed deaths and one hundred and
eighty five miles an hour when it came ashore. That's
what happened with Melissa in Jamaica. One of the most
(01:35):
powerful hurricane landfalls on record in the Atlantic basin. So
now headed toward eastern Cuba as a Cat three. So
first it was a four, then it got down to
a three after bringing all of that catastrophe and chaos
to Jamaica. As I said, just really powerful how it
(01:57):
hit and people were but hundreds of thousands are without
power at this point. More than seventy seven percent of
power customers island wide are without electricity. Minister Desmond McKenzie
with the Prime Minister's Office talked about ahead of the
storm and during the storm for people not even now
(02:19):
still not to trapes around in this Jamaica.
Speaker 3 (02:24):
This is not the time to debreathe.
Speaker 1 (02:30):
I mean well said. There were a lot of Americans
and other tourists that were stranded there. Here's what one
American said about trying to get home in the next
couple of days. Pray that we.
Speaker 4 (02:40):
Get home, like at this point at the end of
the prayer, right before you say amen, they I pray
that they all can get a flight home.
Speaker 1 (02:50):
Yeah. So several hospitals, as I said, were impacted by
the storm, including through storm surge which is so deadly,
flooding and structural damage from strong winds. There are you know,
water and pumping stations that need work. They're having problems
with that. The good news is Melissa is out. Melissa
(03:13):
is gone. And if we wanted to rank Melissa as
far as the Atlantic basin, the hurricane ranks in a
three way tie with Hurricane Drian twenty nineteen and the
Labor Day Hurricane nineteen thirty five for the strongest sustained wins.
I mean, it didn't stop at landfall, you know that,
(03:34):
it just kept on coming. And so we'll get a
better sense of it, like I said in Daylight, because
right now it's so dangerous for people to get out
in any of this. They're just trying to respond. Of course,
the country is a disaster area and it's been declared
as such, but it's you know, they don't They know
(03:58):
that three pe people died in Jamaica when they were
preparing for the storm. They know that there was others,
but other than that, it'll be up to what Jamaica's
Disaster Risk Management Council comes up with. They just have
preliminaries and just what they're finding. A lot of people
did get to safety in some big ballrooms in some
of the hotels, and so that was a good thing.
(04:20):
There were people helping people as much as they possibly could.
The President is on an important trip obviously to Asia.
After having a lot of successful talks in Japan. It
is onto a conversation with President she from China. There
(04:40):
is so much on the line with that because of
our incredible economies, the two biggest economies of the US
and China, and all of the back and forth with China,
and the fact that November one there was going to
be massive amount of tariff that was going to be
hit to China and then the trade back and there
(05:01):
is some work ahead of that. Of course, there was
some framework that was laid out. If all goes well,
that gets negotiated and perhaps the President leaves with another
success story from that part of the Asia trips. So
while he's one of the things that happened, as people
(05:21):
keep talking about, there's red hats out there that's say
twenty twenty eight on it. Could the president run again
for a third time according to our constitution? No, And
the Speaker of the House, Mike Johnson did sort of
address that.
Speaker 5 (05:34):
I spoke with the President about an hour ago. It's
late in the evening in Japan. He's working around the
clock serving the American people. He doesn't stop talk about
someone who works around the clock. And as Chairman Fluger
mentioned a moment ago, and as we've reiterated in here
so many times, you're looking at the split screen because
under President Trump, the Republican Party has delivered. I mean,
(05:55):
you're talking about reducing taxes, reducing regulations, cutting fraud wasat
and abuse, ended the border crisis, ending the crime crisis,
resolving conflicts wars around the globe, and working on these
amazing trade agreements. It's been a great run. But I
think the President knows, and he and I've talked about
the constrictions of the Constitution as much as so many
(06:18):
American people lament that the Trump twenty twenty eight cap
is one of the most popular that's ever been produced,
and he has a good time with that, trolling the Democrats,
whose hair is on fire about the very prospect. But
I do believe that we've got three extraordinary years ahead
of us, and the two years the Trump administration are
going to be an incredible thing, and I don't see
(06:41):
a way to amend the Constitution because it takes about
ten years to do that, as you all know.
Speaker 1 (06:47):
All right, So, I mean that's the answer you would expect, right,
there's no in our constitution. He said it best. Johnson
did that. You can't do that. And I think part
of this is tongue in cheek with him because people
are handing him hats. That's twenty eight and that keeps
coming up. People ask the president that question. Meanwhile, there
is nothing that is happening with the government except for that.
(07:10):
It's shut down day twenty nine. Government shutdown the thirteenth time.
The Republican backfunding bill failed fifty four to forty five,
same old thing, short of the sixty votes needed. And
now you have twenty five states in the District of
Columbia that filed suit against the Trump administration over the
plans to with old food Aid under what we call SNAP,
(07:34):
which is the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program. Forty two million
Americans won't get that. It runs out on Saturday, November first.
Air traffic controllers they got their first paycheck that said
zero on it. I mean, that's what they did. They
got a at paychecks that said zero nice. So the
stressful job that leads to all the shortages. The call
(07:56):
ins are getting much more fast and furious. Federal workers
are supposed to get back pay when the shutdown ends,
but you have the situation where people are depending on
that check and they don't have it. So, like I said,
more people are calling in sick and it's disastrous when
it comes to what's happening of course in the skies,
(08:18):
so no end in sight. Nobody seems to have any
idea what's going to happen, including me, is when I
call and talk to my buddies, nobody has a great
explanation for where are we headed? Is there a break
in this, is there a compromise? Is there anything that's
going to happen? And the answer is no, solidly no.
Coming up next, I'm gonna give you a yes, we're
(08:38):
gonna head to the man Cave. The Blue Jays after
an incredible eighteen inning loss to the Dodgers, turned it
around in Game four and even that series we got
the deeds on that and other things as well.
Speaker 6 (08:52):
Did you know that healthy arteries make a gas?
Speaker 7 (08:56):
Yes?
Speaker 6 (08:57):
Actually three known gas is doctor Mitch, and nitric oxide
is a gas that's readily made all day long to
keep our arteries open by relaxing the blood vessel walls.
By doing this, our circulation is increased, bringing blood, oxygen,
and nutrients to every part of your body. Both age
(09:21):
and poor diet can lead to a loss of this
precious gas, and in turn, blood pressure can go up,
energy can go down, and you can get tingling in
your hands and feet. Well, our product, Ultimate nitric Oxide,
can easily help fix this lack of nitric oxide. Go

Speaker 5 (12:04):
I'm going to the man Cave, going to the marri Caave,
going to the marri Cave.
Speaker 7 (12:14):
I'm going to.
Speaker 8 (12:16):
Andy.
Speaker 1 (12:17):
We are, yes, indeed, in the man Cave. And oh
what a different seventeen hours makes because we were talking
about the World Series yesterday, we're actually the day before that,
and the fact that it was won for the Ages
where it goes eighteen innings, six hours, thirty nine minutes
(12:43):
and the Dodgers ultimately beat the Blue Jays. This way,
Freeman suns a fly out of souter Field.
Speaker 7 (12:52):
Our show's going back before the Constructs.
Speaker 2 (12:59):
That's all.
Speaker 4 (13:01):
With the Last.
Speaker 5 (13:02):
World A game three.
Speaker 1 (13:04):
Classic, Yeah, Game three classic, indeed. I mean, Shohei Otani
has just blown the cover off of everything in a way.
The two way player unbelievable. Pitched in this next game
and actually pitched pretty well, but not good enough. I
(13:28):
can't I can't even think that the guy wasn't gassed.
It was so crazy. After the eighteen innings. But it
was pretty thrilling to watch that and to see what happens.
And if I were if there had been a break
in between, I would have told you statistically, there's a
seventy one percent chance that once a team goes ahead
two games to one, they go on to win the
(13:48):
World Series. But don't tell that to the Toronto Blue Jays,
because the Toronto Blue Jays came back after that, again thrilling.
Freddy Freeman win. He was the one that smacked the
ball out again. You heard that amazing call. But Vladimir Guerrero,
Junior Homeward and Shane Bieber on the mound big time
(14:11):
was so solid and Toronto won six', two so they
even the series at two games a. Piece this has
been really fun to, watch even if it's not your,
team but if you're a baseball, fan it has been
a fun series to watch because of what's gone on
(14:31):
and how it's gone back and, forth and every single
time you tune in you see something. Different So Dodger
stadium was like an earthquake was going through with that.
Game that third, Game game, three it was just, incredible
and then all the drama of that then you go
Into game four and it turns out so so differently,
(14:55):
Right and part of that was the incredible Of vladimir
that two run homer that he hit off THAT i
mentioned off of show Hey otani in the third, inning
and THEN i mentioned the Pitcher bieber with the four
hit ball into the Six so, anyway they're back on.
Track and now we look forward to the series continuing
(15:20):
and catching our breath for two seconds and probably the
same THING i would say for the for the players
because they haven't had time to catch their, breath, Right
so they don't get that much time to catch their breath,
though because now you go Into game, five and of
course this one is At Dodgers, stadium and we'll see
(15:43):
who breaks that. Open will it be The jay's or The.
Dodgers but one thing's for, sure no matter what, happens
the series is definitely going back now guaranteed To. Toronto
that'll Be game six On friday night On. Halloween i'll be,
watching maybe you will be, too all. Right and in between,
(16:05):
that of, course we have the all IMPORTANT nfl and
we did in our first hour our nail the score,
game and that is The Buffalo bills hosting The. Chiefs
it was interesting to catch some of What Andy reid
had to. SAY i, mean also speaking of catching your
breath on That monday night, game and the fact that
there was a little history made By Travis kelsey and
(16:27):
he's asked about. That the fact that now with touchdowns
he is tied With Priest holmes for the most In
chiefs history and he'll end up setting that record and
who knows what the record will, be well passed eighty,
three which was what the number. Was and here's What Andy,
reid his, coach said about what you get With Travis.
Speaker 9 (16:46):
Kelcey for him to be able to do what he's
done over this amount of time is. Great and it's
still as you guys, know you come out to, practice
you see that. Energy he's got energy every day and
he's he's not the youngest, guy so he just goes and.
Goes he.
Speaker 1 (17:06):
Does he just goes and, goes and you, know there's
supposedly heading into this. YEAR i guess he didn't officially say,
this but there was a lot of conversation about is
he coming, Back he's not going, back and then he
comes back and that this would be his last, year
but will it really be his last. Year does he
come back next? Year let's see what The chiefs, do
because they're on a hot. Roll even though they were
(17:29):
held to seven points in that win over The commanders On,
monday they came back and just killed them in the
end in the second half of the. Game there's still some,
magic definite magic with The, chiefs all, right magic in The.
Hardwoods very early into this, season the seventy Six ers
on the road against The wizards pulled it out once.
(17:50):
Again they're four and, zero one thirty, nine one thirty
four the final score. There The sixers had a rally
to do that in Overtime Tyrese maxi with the thirty
nine points and ten, assists so they stormed back With
joel Em bed on the bench and, uh you, know
(18:12):
And bead had scored twenty five, points but with the
seventy Six ers managing his, minutes he, was LIKE i,
said on on the. Bench so they rallied back and
pulled that one out in o T not thrilling for
The wizard, fans but for The sixers, fans pretty. Thrilling
(18:32):
The Miami heat now three in, One. Wow talk about
pouring it. On they did that to The, hornets you know.
What the final score was one forty four to one.
SEVENTEEN i don't, know is there a point where you,
think oh, man it's a school, NIGHT i gotta get,
home or just sit there and just watch them pour it.
In jock Has junior scored twenty eight, points and that
(18:59):
really lit the fuse for The, heat you, know and
they just again ran away with it all the way
through pretty. Much so now The heat Visits San antonio
to start a four game road trip for The. Hornets
they Host orlando On. Thursday you, know here's the, Thing
LIKE i, said it's so early in the, season but
(19:21):
just like the seventy six, ers The thunder don't have
a loss. Yet they beat The kings one, seven one oh,
one and this was In Oklahoma. City they have such,
great such a great fan base. Too it's pretty loud
if you go to see a game. There i've Seen
i've seen a couple of games, there and right from
(19:42):
the very beginning it seemed like. That so The thunder
had won At dallas On monday, night they were shorthanded
On tuesday. Night the number two score was out with
lower back soren As, Chet holmgren and they were missing
some other key, elements but they still were able to
pull it all all. OUT i, mean that's you know
what They it's what they. Do Oklahoma city took a
(20:06):
seventy one seventy lead in the third quarter on free
throws and then that's when they started to really pour it.
In so Now Oklahoma city hosts The wizards On thursday.
Night sacramento visits The bulls On wednesday. Night so just
some loose. Games The bucks are three and. One they
(20:27):
beat The knicks at home that one one twenty, one
won eleven at the at the, buzzer and if we
were to look at the, game you know you're talking
about you're talking About Ryan, rollins who poured in a
career high twenty five points And New York's Jalen brunson
(20:50):
had thirty six. Points but he heard himself midway through
the fourth. Quarter he somehow injured his leg while he
was scrambling for a loose. Ball he was on the,
floor but he was moving when he got, up very,
gingerly very. Carefully so that's never. GOOD i, mean he
sat on the floor for a bit and stayed in
the game even after a time. Out but, yeah they
(21:13):
couldn't stop the. Momentum The knicks couldn't stop the momentum
of The, bucks who were coming off of a loss At.
Cleveland bucks Coach Doc rivers said before the game That
Kevin Porter junior has a spring left, ankle was going
to be out a bit and too early to tell
when he would. Return The bucks host The Golden State
warriors On. Thursday The knicks are at The Chicago bulls
(21:35):
On Fry. Day AND i can't wait till we get
deeper Into this is a great time of the, year
right because we have college football where we're talking about
the twelve teams that'll go to the college Football, playoffs
and of course we're now midway into almost midway into
(21:56):
THE nfl, season and then we have the starts of
THE nba and also THE, nhl and then everything else
that that you have in. Between so it's it's a,
lot but this is the this is the time of
year that is the best to be a sports. FAN
i mean you almost have to pull Your it's like
you had to pull yourself away from. It, Okay i'm
(22:18):
not gonna watch another. Game i'm not gonna do. It
i'm not gonna watch another. GAME i why, Not Maybe
i'll watch another. Game so coming up, next your thoughts
as we head to the mail, bag and of course
the pre market. Fell the market is, hot, hot, Hot
but what's gonna happen with those interest? Rates will know.
Tomorrow meet you on the flip.
Speaker 7 (23:01):
You have mailed, twice gig in the mailbag once.
Speaker 1 (23:06):
Again here we are in the mail. Bag thank you
everybody who sent me their thoughts and all kinds of.
Things let's go to our first. One this Is raymond
who is listening to us In Salt Lake CITY Ksl
radio one oh two point SEVEN. Fm Kate, Delaney i'm
enjoying your. Show i've been enjoying it for the past
(23:26):
six or seven. MONTHS i like THAT i feel Like
i'm up to date WHEN i, listen just right the
start of the show and then throughout some of the
really funny things that you uh that you talk. About
But i'm not here to praise. You i'm here to
say thank goodness That Speaker johnson said no to that
path for a Third trump. TERM i, mean, LISTEN i
(23:47):
voted For Donald trump, twice So i'm not against him being,
president BUT i don't think he should be breaking The,
constitution And johnson is. Right if you try to reconstruct
a piece of The constitution and manipulate, it it won't.
Work it would take probably ten years to do, it
(24:07):
and that would be in the form of amending, IT i,
suppose not breaking. It but to have that, happen you'd
have to have two thirds of The house three fourths
of The states would have to approve. It so there
is no path, forward which if You're Donald, trump especially
as he's getting up there in, AGE i would think
he would want to just play golf and enjoy whatever
(24:28):
the fruits of his labor, are so for goodness, Sake
but then what do we have coming down the? Path
that is the big question. Mark all, Right, raymond thank
you so much for. That, yep you nailed. It that's
exactly What johnson, said and he's, right you. Couldn't there's
no way that you could do that with The. Constitution you.
Couldn't BUT i think this all started because you, know
(24:50):
the twenty Second, amendment of course is no person should
be elected to the highest office more than. Twice but
also he's been asked about this a couple of, times
and there's t shirts and. Things that's twenty twenty eight on,
It SO i think he was kind of actually having
fun with. It that's my. TAKE i think it's it
was just one of those. Things all, Right let's go
to HOW i think we have a like two different
(25:12):
Hous there's one In mississippi and this is how who
is listening on KLS low information station that would be
In Saint Lewis. KATE i don't know if you saw
this or. Not it's just crazy in the. Air it's
not even about air traffic controllers alone. Anymore it's about the,
(25:33):
people and maybe it always has, been the people that
are randomly near. YOU i was just listening to a
story about a lift tons of flight that had to
turn back because a passenger attacked another one with a metal. Fork.
WOW i wonder if that guy even saw it. COMING
i can't believe nobody has any video of. IT i
haven't seen any video, anywhere BUT i guess that dude
(25:56):
is getting charged with, assault and you would have to
think he would maybe face a decade or so in. Prison,
yeah you, know it's really weird about. That the whole
unruly passenger, thing it actually has kind of fallen. Off
they keep statistics of, course but it still, happens and
during PRE covid they twice as. Much there was, More
(26:18):
there was more going. On and this, was by the,
way two. Teenagers there was a. PASSENGER a passenger stabbed
two teenagers with a metal fork during that flight that
was over the weekend On, saturday From chicago To, Frankfurt,
germany and they of course had to turn back to THE.
Us that's the other part of that. Story so it
(26:39):
was some twenty eight year old, guy An indian, national
who attacked the seventeen year old passengers after the meal.
Service so who knows what was going on? THERE i,
mean but, regardless it's weird because The Transportation Security administration
allows forks and carry on bags on commercial, flights but
utensils with a sharp edge or pointed tip that could
(27:01):
be used as a stabbing tool are. Confiscated that was
such a big deal after nine to, ELEVEN i remember. That,
WOW i, mean whatever. Happened you can't you just don't
stab people on a. Plane that is called unbalanced. People
let's go to another. One how about this one From
keith who was listening to us On wogo radio and
(27:27):
Chip Awall falls In, wisconsin and he Says. KATE i
heard that little clip you played during your Man cave
segment Of Jordan love And Aaron rodgers meeting each other
midfield After rogers and The steelers lost to My, packers
(27:48):
and they had apparently a nice greeting with each, other
which makes. Sense there was no animosity between, them and if,
ANYTHING i Think love benefited from being tutored By Aaron.
Rodgers as much as we can say some things we
don't like About, rogers there were many upsides to, him
obviously if you look at the way he still throws the,
football and also the fact THAT i think there was
(28:10):
kind of some bad blood between him And Brett farv
because he wanted to get in. There and in this,
CASE i don't think there was that kind of a
relationship With Jordan love at, all which is a good.
Thing it is a good. THING i would say the
very same. Thing all, right let let's go now To
(28:32):
mary who's listening to us In New ORLEANS wgso nine
NINETY a m longtime. Affiliate we love Some New. Orleans
this is a great time of year For New. ORLEANS
i think of Am, rice you, know all the vampire
books that she wrote and how she was such a
staple In New orleans back in the. Day and so
(28:56):
the question is do you like horror genre and do
you take ghost tours or do any of that kind of,
stuff because we have a whole bunch of them down
here In New. Orleans if you come, DOWN i know
people who run, Them, kate we could get you on.
Them DO i do ghost? TOURS i you, know horror
(29:18):
is weird for. ME i don't like slasher. MOVIES i
like suspenseful movies right and old classics Like what's The
matter With helen or something like one of. THOSE i would,
watch but just pure. Slasher. NO i do like the screen,
franchise the early. Versions it seems like the earlier versions
of everything when they get into the, okay it's part,
(29:40):
seven it's not as good for. Me Like, halloween the
very First. HALLOWEEN i was way too young to see
it and it was very scary to. Me and then
it turns out it was Big John, carpenter the horror,
writer grew up a town over from WHERE i grew.
Up hadn't Feel New, jersey and it starts off hadn't filled, Either, Ohio.
Illinois can't. REMEMBER i think It's. Illinois but, anyway that was.
(30:04):
Scary but that was that whole suspense thing where to pop.
Out you don't know what's gonna, happen and what's gonna
happen With, jason where he's gonna show. UP i think It's, jason, Right,
no It's. Michael. Michael you don't know Where. Michael i'm
mixing all my bad guys Up. Michael you don't Where
michael's going to show. Up So i'd be kind of
more old. School and my, nephew who's like twenty, three
(30:28):
he's old school. Too he wants to always see those
kinds of. Movies even The hitchcock MOVIES i think are
PRETTY i think are pretty. Interesting and again those movies
are more suspense and using other techniques than pure. Slashers
like even The birds to me was creepy BECAUSE i
(30:51):
mean it's like almost. Believable. Right have you ever had
a had a bird rather dive bomb? You MAYBE i
have in my old. Neighborhood that. HAPPENED i was walking
my Beloved mahalow at the. Time now we have, guinness
and that happened to. Us, boy it's and this bird
not leave us, alone follow us down the. Street we
just started running AND i DIDN'T i don't even. REMEMBER
(31:11):
i don't know if it was a, CROW i don't
remember what bird it. WAS i have to ask the.
Hubs but it was, really, really really really. Creepy there's
no question about. That all. Right speaking of, creepy we
have one of. Those this one is From this one
is From joseph who is listening to us In. California

get a hold of somebody and who knows what happens after.

a video on it and they're just sitting. There they're
just sitting there after the. Crash they're just sitting, there you,
(32:38):

anyway and they're. Aggressive apparently they. Were they were From
tulane and they escaped in This mississippi. Crash but they
had to be, euthanized they had to be destroyed because
of what they were. Carrying oh and then they're saying
they weren't. Infected there was initial reports that they, were
and they were saying they. Weren't, anyway it's not. Good

Owe so we're speaking With Reverend Pat baranski and again
the name of the book Is The simplicity Of. Faith
part One, Detroit, Michigan michigan To watertown And Reverend you
AND i talked about this off the. Air we talked
about your growing up and the lessons you learned from your.
Father tell us.
Speaker 10 (38:18):
About, That, yeah he, Said, Uh i'm going to have
sessions with you On, saturdays and, uh if you want
a good, life you listen to WHAT i tell you
and uh find out what people, need SO i, did
AND i ended up having my own. BUSINESS i sold,
(38:42):
BAIT i caught bait AND i sold, it AND i
cut lawns AND i picked up pears and WHATEVER i
could help neighbors with and they'd pay me and tell
me to come. Back AND, uh SO i did, that
and uh saved money and used it. Wisely AND i
(39:07):
wasn't like the other people that were so prejudiced that
would stop me from coming BECAUSE i didn't happen to Be.
German and so the people on the next block were
Uh british And. European AND i got along good with,
(39:30):
him AND i found out things in the community THAT
i could do to help, people and they liked the
WAY i did, it and they'd pay.
Speaker 1 (39:44):
Me and your dad had a nickname for, you he called.
Him he called you my little, entrepreneur didn't? He, Yep,
OH i love, that just because He that's exactly what
he instilled in. You and then the fact that also
you could deal with so many, people which makes sense
when we talk about your, Book The simplicity Of, Faith part, One,
(40:06):
Detroit michigan To watertown is how did that journey start for?
You the rev becoming a reverend.
Speaker 10 (40:17):
WELL i WHEN i was in high, school for what
about three, semesters this girl ended up sitting in front
of me because they would set the kids up alphabetically
or something like. That and she had beautiful, hair and
she was always inviting me to. Church AND i THINK
(40:40):
i mentioned it in the. Book but, anyway the church
THAT i came, To christ said back, then you could
put your side as close as you could get it
to the, road and they'd put it on both. Sides
see it twice a. DAY i saw it six. Times
(41:03):
there's one mediator Between god and, man the Man Christ.
Jesus SO i told my wife about. IT i, Said
i'm going to check this church. Out SO i. Went
after seeing that for a, WEEK i went to the
church and he gave an altar call to come and Accept.
(41:24):
CHRIST i stood, up AND i looked across the aisle
and there was this girl that kept telling me WHEN
i was in high. School she was praying for. Me
SO i put my coat up so she couldn't see
my face AS i walked forward to Accept. Christ AND i.
DID i came back AND i told my father and he,
(41:50):
says that's a good. Thing and my mother got hostile
and blamed it on my. Wife my wife was on
the landing stairway carrying one of the, kids and she
took her shoe off and was going to hit my,
wife AND i grabbed her arm so she couldn't Hit.
Ruby and my dad looked at my mother and, said
(42:13):
you had that. Coming.
Speaker 1 (42:16):
Yeah. Yeah and for your family, too for the, background
so people, KNOW i mean in your, household your mom
Was catholic and your father Was, jewish, right, yeah.
Speaker 10 (42:26):
Yeah and on the day that the priest was going
to confirm, me my father grabbed his arm and that
didn't go well with my. Mother but you, know that's
just the way it. WAS i was just a kid
being there in the middle of their. Squabble, again, no,
(42:48):
no we got.
Speaker 1 (42:49):
You and so, again the, reverend it's so interesting to
hear how that all. Happened and what's interesting is some
of what happened in the journey along the, way like
your relationship with The Green Bay. Packers tell us about.
Speaker 10 (43:02):
That oh, well that was AFTER i had come To
christ and we moved To wisconsin and we lived on
a farm there BECAUSE i stood for my, faith and
there was only one hundred and thirty eight people in
(43:24):
that little town and they were All, catholics so they
were kind of gostile towards. Me AND i was a packer,
fan AND i went to work at the. Canry and
WHEN i was working at the, CANRY i met some
of The Green bay packers and they invited me to
(43:46):
their prayer. Meeting and SO i went from the canry
down to the, college right, yeah, yeah, yeah AND i
went To Central. Seminary No, Maranatha yeah, YEAH i went
To Maranatha church and then after THAT i went To Central. Seminary.
Speaker 1 (44:11):
Wow so it has been an interesting life and how
you were called and you knew and did you find
your way and just you, know get better and relate
to people as you went, along no matter where it
was that.
Speaker 10 (44:26):
You lived pretty. Much yeah, yeah because well tell her
about your, navy your.
Speaker 1 (44:35):
Duty.
Speaker 10 (44:36):
Okay, well WHEN i tried to join The, navy AND
i fell asleep and didn't pass the, test so they
told me to, uh, well, UH i don't, know you
can come back try. Again so WHAT i did IS
I i joined The Guard Army National, guard AND i
(44:58):
got sent To Fort, Knox, kentucky and they were Filming
goldfinger WHEN i was, there AND i came back and let's,
SEE i had joined The, navy AND i passed the
(45:18):
test that, time AND i had two weeks of terminology,
trading learning the difference Between armory And, navy and then
six weeks of mail, handling and somewhere along the line
WHEN i came, BACK i went to the place WHERE
(45:39):
i used To there was a dance hall on one
end and a pool haul the. OTHER i used to
go there to shoot pool little, town AND i went
in there AND i saw this young lady that was
sweeping the floor AND i. Sat SO i went over
there AND i asked her if she wanted to dance with.
(46:06):
Me she put her broom down AND i went over
and put a diamond a jukebox AND i hit an
old popular. Song then going to the, chapel and that's
WHERE i met my.
Speaker 1 (46:20):
Wife, OH i love that. Story that's how you Met. Ruby,
wow that's a great. Story when people read your, Book
The simplicity Of, Faith part One, Detroit michigan To, watertown
what do you hope they take.
Speaker 10 (46:34):
Away The simplicity Of, faith which is what all the
writing was about coming To christ and how it changed my,
life WHERE i became closer to my father and my
mother became hostile AND i grew spiritually and together and
(47:01):
we prayed things through and everything we did so we
do the right thing at the right time and the right.
WAY i like.
Speaker 1 (47:09):
That, yeah, wow that's a perfect place to end. This Reverend,
baranski get this. Book it is powerful and this, STORY
i mean the, simplicity the lines through it and just
what we talked about. There you'll get that real glimpse
of it for, Sure, reverend thanks for coming. On, Okay,

(47:31):
where it led him as. Incredible he's got the first book,
too you can get That The simplicity Of Faith part One,
Detroit michigan To, Watertown. Wisconsin this story will just make
you tear. Up but where it ended up. Incredible their
Daughter michelle Nicknamed, nicky paralyzed at eighteen years. Old it
was just a year and a half ago she. Died
what do we feel for The. Baranskis but this book was.
(47:53):
Powerful it led to them starting a company. Independence plus
they helped so many. People they have one hundred employees
at it In, minnesota all over the, place and what a.
Gem as they told, me their son in Law david
was through everything and just absolutely loved their, Daughter. Mickey
But mickey was one of the reasons where they ended
(48:17):
up where they ended up in the simplicity of. Faith
