Trista (00:00):
Hey everybody.
Welcome to Ask a Coach.
This is episode three and I'm soexcited to share this one with you.
This is by Coach Rashmi Pawar,And she is a PCOS mindset coach.
She's empowering PCOS women to livesymptom free through mindset coaching,
and she has a really interesting storyabout some of the skills that she had

(00:24):
to learn when she became a new coach, and definitely some of the cultural
differences that she experienced as anIndian learning from an American coach.
So listen in.
I think you'll find it really interesting.

Rashmi (00:39):
So when I was going through training, I got this a lot as a
feedback to be conversational.
Now I'm an Indian basedin India based in UAE.
Who got influenced by Brookeand all her American coaches.
So for Americans, it's veryeasy to be conversational.
This is a belief I had.

(01:00):
But then I thought thatmaybe this is not a belief.
Maybe I do know of Indians whoare also conversational, but in my
reality, I did not see many Indians.
In spite of me livinginternationally, I did not see many
Indians who were conversational.
So I had to learn howto be conversational.
It was not easy.

(01:20):
It meant for me to completelytransition into someone who is
conversational, who cares aboutspeaking to other humans, to strangers.
So I started practicing that like peopleI saw in the lift, at the barista, I
learned the skill of saying hi to peoplewho were, like physically saying hi, who

(01:41):
were like in a meters or a feet distanceaway, or, say hi to them, or smile at
them if they're a bit further away.
So, this skill I had to learn.
I didn't have this skill.
And as a coach, it's important for us tobe conversational because the questions
that we ask our clients, they need tobe presented as part of a conversation

(02:05):
instead of following a script.
So I hope, this is usefulfor your new coaches.
this was really big for me.
