Speaker 1 (00:08):
Hey, there, it's Evan
Nathaniel Grimm, and welcome to
the latest episode of AstrologyUnbound, and today I'm going to
talk about the end of Mercuryretrograde and, very soon, venus
retrograde.
That's right, these retrogradesare finally ending and it's
actually really bringing us tothe end of a four-month stint of
(00:28):
retrogrades among the personalplanets.
So we have a lot of reasons tocelebrate, but also a lot of
reasons to continue to exercisecaution.
So, before I start, be sure tosubscribe to my Substack
newsletter.
This is where I post mymanifestation guides, intention
setting rituals.
I also provide recordedmanifestation and release
(00:51):
rituals.
In particular, a release ritualI did last March will
definitely be relevant again onthis upcoming Libra full moon on
April 12th, so definitely checkthat out.
Also, I offer predictions on mysub stack.
Many of my world predictionshave come true.
(01:12):
So, especially at a time rightnow where there's a lot of
tumultuousness, you want to keeptrack of what's going on and
what's coming.
Also, there is still time todownload my 2025 horoscopes and
that's because you know there'sstill nine months left in the
year and if you'd like to keeptrack of you know the new and
full moons coming up throughoutthis year and to get a really
(01:35):
in-depth look at the rest of2025 so that you can plan ahead.
Download those videos now.
Okay, so pretty much I thinkeveryone who's listening to this
right now is now living in apost-Mercury retrograde world.
So Mercury will station directon April 7th at 4.07 am Pacific
time.
This is, you know, at the veryend of a three-week retrograde
(01:57):
that started March 14th, andVenus will follow suit on April
12th.
So by the end of this week, wewill no longer have any personal
planets retrograde.
This is the first time, essentially since late November,
that this phenomenon ishappening again.
So Mercury stationed retrogradein the previous cycle on
(02:19):
November 25th of 2024.
And then, shortly after that, mars went retrograde and it was
retrograde for a really longtime, about 80 days and then
Venus went retrograde a weeklater.
So there was a little pocket oftime where, at the end of
February, where no planets wereretrograde, but that was very
brief and if you include thepre-shadow phase of Venus, it
was very much.
You know, still in the thick ofthe retrogrades.
(02:41):
We're finally coming to aconclusion of this again
four-plus month period of one ofthe personal planets
retrograding, and we're going tostart off with Mercury.
Mercury now is direct as of thetime you're listening to this,
most likely so, with Mercurydirect in Pisces, you can have
more clarity on what you'd liketo do creatively, what you'd
(03:04):
like to do with your spiritualpractices, what you'd like to do
creatively, what you'd like todo with your spiritual practices
, how you'd like to incorporateyour spiritual practices into
your daily life.
You might have, I mean, asharper cognition generally,
also an ability to you know, understand the sequence and
processes behind things and tofinalize those contracts, make
those big decisions.
Venus does continue toretrograde, though, through
(03:27):
April 12th.
So I would be cautious stillabout contracts, because you
know Venus has a lot to do withnegotiations and you know
interpersonal relations andmoney, and so, with Venus
retrograde until the 12th, it'slike Mercury direct does allow
you to read the fine print, navigate more convoluted
(03:48):
documents and the nuances of asituation, but Venus being
retrograde is still a time toreflect on the types of people
you maybe want to go intobusiness with in the first place
or the types of people you wantto date or be in a relationship
with or friends with.
So that is just the rub, Iwould say, and the slight
cautionary tale.
Also, mercury is direct now onthe North Node and Saturn, and
(04:13):
Saturn is about the long term.
It moves slow and steady.
So Mercury conjunct Saturn overthe next week still is a chance
for you to take things slow andso make a few big decisions
maybe, or focus in on a fewprocesses or work streams.
Don't try to do everything andfor some of you, feel free to
(04:37):
take an extra week to meditateor ruminate on something.
And because Venus retrograde iscontinuing, like I said, you
might not know yet who you wantto actually interface with to,
let's say, sign a contract, signa deal or enter a relationship
with or whatever.
Mercury retrograde or sorry, mercury direct in Pisces might
(04:58):
also conjunct Saturn, lead someof you to actually start talking
to someone again or, in thereverse case, to close off
communication with someone.
Some of you might decide I wantto take a break from this
person, officially or no, I wantto open up a conversation with
them again, on the grounds thatwe're finally going to settle
(05:20):
something that's been, you know, gnawing away at us for a long
time.
And also, with Pisces, dealingwith deception, delusion,
illusion and in some cases therecould be lies that are exposed.
People may have to come cleanto you about something.
And in Pisces dealing withaddiction some people might come
(05:41):
clean about an addiction theyhave or in some cases, people
who maybe were able to suppressthat or stave off that addictive
behavior end up.
I don't know, it's kind of adelicate subject but you know,
some people might admit that youknow they've relapsed or that
they have struggled again with, you know, an addiction.
(06:02):
And in other cases I thinkabout Pisces as actually dealing
a lot with like mental health, and in a lot of ways that's
because Pisces is so diffuseenergetically and open to other
people's feelings, and so Piscespeople with a lot of Pisces
placements can be almostsubjected to the emotions of
others and the energy of others, and so they can become and take
(06:24):
on almost the persona or theemotions of other people and
mirror those energies and thatcan lead to, you know, a range
of different mental healthafflictions.
But with the retrograde or withthe direct motion conjunct
Saturn, some people might beresolving as of now to finally
tackle a mental health issuethey've had or to tackle an
(06:46):
addiction they've had, or tofind a different way to achieve
either mental or spiritualwell-being.
So it can be very productivebut it sometimes will require
you to kind of openly admitsomething to yourself like, oh,
I need to face this or I need tofinally deal with this, or you
(07:08):
know, this is more serious thanI expected and you know the
South Node is in Virgo, withMercury dispositing that South
Node.
So I do think a lot of peopleare coming to terms with, maybe,
some health choices.
They've made health decisions, they have to recalibrate and
Mercury is trining Mars rightnow.
So a lot of people might alsocome out of the gates of this
(07:29):
retrograde with a really clearplan of action and you might
again move really quickly onsomething and decide that you
want to finish writing the bookafter all, or you want to seek
out this new job offer orwhatever.
And I think, with Mercuryconjunct the North Node, ideally
(07:55):
you know right now what youneed to be focused on, what you
need to be working on, and theconjunction of Saturn is showing
you what you need to be focusedon in the long term.
So Saturn delays gratificationin the immediate term to really
preserve our interest long termand help us achieve the best
(08:15):
possible outcome in the long run.
Because, as human beings who aretrying to survive, we mostly
think about how to minimizeshort-term pain and maximize
short-term pleasure, right Like.
That's how most mammals operate.
We obviously have the cognition, as opposed to most mammals, to
consider our long-terminterests, you know, to envision
(08:37):
a future at all.
I mean, you know, most animalsare living in that sort of
day-to-day sort ofminute-by-minute sort of need,
primal need.
But human beings obviously canexercise long-term judgment and
obviously animals can thinklong-term in certain ways when
they're like migrating todifferent parts of the world in
(08:59):
anticipation of certain seasons, certain seasons, but I'm just
saying like, human beings areable to withhold pleasure.
And you know, for the sake ofsuccess over time, and you know,
when Venus and Saturn and theNorth Node were last aligned in
2013, september 2013, I actuallyquit a job that I'd started
(09:20):
very like recently.
Before that, I quit a job afterlike three weeks and moved
across the country for the sakeof the fact that all my friends
had moved to New York andwhatnot.
So, anyways, it was reallypainful to leave the job that I
had in LA at the time.
But by giving that job up, Iknew that I was taking a
(09:44):
short-term hit to not having asalary for a few weeks, or even
a month or so or whatever it was, but I knew I would eventually
find a job in New York and thejob that I found in New York was
at a lower salary.
So I did sacrifice all thatprep work I had done before to
get that job right out ofcollege.
But I knew that if I got myfoot in the door in New York,
where all my friends were, Iwould sort of build a better
(10:08):
life, and I do believe that itwas the right choice, even
though I eventually moved to LAanyways.
Seven years later I was in NewYork for seven years, so I think
it molded me into the man I amtoday.
Could be that you decide toleave a certain employment
prospect behind so that youpursue your entrepreneurial path
(10:30):
.
Or maybe you break up withsomebody and accept the fact
that you're going to be alonefor a bit, but it's going to
teach you a lot about yourselfand you'll find someone better
eventually.
Maybe other people will end upsigning a contract that is
really robust and stable andlong-term.
Maybe some people willreinforce their vows and their
(10:51):
commitments to a partner, because I'm not saying that this
is breakup season.
It's not like everybody'sbreaking up.
It's just that everyone ishaving to make these Saturnian
long-term commitments.
So if you meditate on it andyou visualize the partner you
currently have, and if you can'tsee yourself with them seven
years from now or five yearsfrom now, then you probably will
end the relationship.
But if you've been struggling alot with your partner and going
(11:15):
up and down, but you can seethe vision, you still see the
vision and why you're with them, then I think you'll still hold
on to that and maintain thatconviction and you'll come out
of April really feelingconfident in the stability of
that connection.
And I say the end of April notbecause the retrogrades are
secretly continuing until theend of April, but because Venus
(11:37):
and Saturn are going to bealigned throughout this month.
Because even though Venusretrograde ends in five days
from now, it's going to stayright there with Saturn, because
when it stations it slows down.
So don't expect to have all ofyour relationship questions
necessarily resolved in fivedays, however, some of you will.
Some of you will have itresolved and you will know, hey,
(12:00):
this is who I'm meant to bewith and you know we're're gonna
make it work.
But, like throughout the month, you're just like working out
the kinks.
So, but thank God, mercuryretrograde is done, at least the
conversations you have withpeople are more forward looking.
Generally, again, cognition hasreturned to a state of coherence
(12:24):
.
But the retrogrades are notjust all negative.
I mean Mercury retrograde is atime to bring yourself back to
center relative to that Mercurytransit.
So Mercury direct in Pisces cansometimes get lost in the sauce
, in the fog in the you know itcan get disoriented, honestly,
(12:45):
can lose sight of the details.
But Mercury retrograde inPisces is actually forcing us to
think about how maybe sometimeswe deceive ourselves or we
gloss over certain details.
And so now that Mercury isdirect, especially conjunct
Saturn, you can be verydiscerning and very conjunct
(13:08):
Saturn.
You can be very discerning andvery you can be a critical
thinker, right and like in abigger way, because you've
re-centered yourself and saidand you've or you found the
balance between this Pisceanimaginative sort of energy and
then Saturn's practical,no-nonsense energy.
So maybe you combine theseenergies to be really serious
about a creative project orsomething or a creative contract
(13:30):
, a business contract in acreative context.
So praise the fact that thenorth node is right there
Because, again, whatever you'regiving up or whatever
relationship you're giving up,whatever contraction you're
experiencing or retraction whereyou're retracing your steps or
pulling back or lettingsomething go, closing something
(13:52):
off.
I think it's all you know.
Again, it's all for the better,it's helping you evolve right
With the North Node.
And you know, subscribe to mysub stack, by the way, to watch
a live show that I just did, which I do every Sunday night,
where I actually talked aboutthe Venus-Saturn cycle through
the lens of the previous GreatRecession we had in 2007, 2008,
(14:14):
2009.
And you'll definitely want tolook at that, because I talk
about markets a little bit, orat least the economy generally,
and I look at the transits ofVenus and Saturn and the nodes
over time to kind of walkthrough like where I think the
markets are going.
So definitely become a paidsubscriber to follow the
economic side of astrology orthe astrology of, or the
(14:38):
astrological side of the economy.
And I also want to highlightthe fact that you know, during
this, you know the end of theseretrogrades.
We kind of reached this climaxwith the Libra full moon on
April 12th.
You know that full moon onSaturday is very cathartic.
Obviously it's a full moon, soit's cathartic, but it is very
(15:00):
conclusive, I think again, anddefinitive with regards to
connections, relationships, yourfinancial situation, maybe even
the economy, and you will see, with the full moon being so
illuminative, you willunderstand how you're feeling,
you will really know what you're, you'll have full access to
your feelings and, with Venusruling Libra and being at the
(15:23):
end of its retrograde, conjunctSaturn in the North Node, I
think that everyone has thecapacity at that time to fuse
together their own rational, sensible side with Saturn and
their intuitive side with theMoon, so you can have access to
your feelings, incorporate thatinto your decision-making, but
(15:47):
still use Saturn as a vehiclevehicle conjunct Venus there to
exercise really long-termjudgment and make a decision
saying hey, this is how I feel, you know, this is how I'm
feeling about my partner, butthis is also, you know, the
(16:07):
reality of our long-termprospects, meaning I feel so
much love for them and I alsoreally hate them sometimes.
But we both align on some keythings and we're willing to do
the work to build this andsustain this.
So that's really the key rightnow is again don't operate on a
(16:29):
short-term basis.
Think about the concepts ofLibra here Loyalty, trust,
cooperation, balance, mutualexchange, trade I mean with the
tariffs and everything but youhave to reach some kind of peace
accord with somebody in yourlife, probably.
Or you have to reach some kindof peace accord with somebody in
your life, probably, or youhave to reach some kind of
agreement with a professionalpartner, because you can't be
(16:53):
with everyone, you can't be incontract with everyone, you
can't, you know, be employedeverywhere, you can't pursue
every financial opportunity and,if you're an entrepreneur, you
can't try to have infinite workstreams.
Right now is the time when youreally want to tighten your
(17:13):
inner circle, solidify it,prioritize people and decide
which relationships are worthnurturing for many, many years
from now.
And I would argue that, again, you shouldn't meditate on this.
Just sit in stillness forhowever long and just visualize
(17:33):
either your ideal partner, ifyou're single right now, or the
partner you have now, and justvisualize your lives together.
Do you envision yourselvestogether at 40, 50, 60, 70, and
so on?
Is it something that can last?
Because, yeah, saturn andPisces is really teaching us
that, even though there issomeone out there for us who can
(17:54):
fulfill many of our needs andthey can, in some ways, be even
better than we expected there isno such thing as like a perfect
partner, a perfect person.
Everyone requires everyrelationship, requires time,
investment, energy, investmentand so on.
And so that's really the lesson.
And you know there's going tobe points in your business
(18:17):
relationship and your friendshipand your romantic partnership
when it's not fun at all and itis just work and people are
asking you to do something, they're asking you to take on a
responsibility and you just haveto decide am I willing to do
(18:38):
that grunt work to get some kindof payoff in the end?
If I help that person out rightnow, if I'm there for them
emotionally, is that fulfillingin of itself, hopefully, but
even so it's like okay, well, ifI'm there for them now, I build
(18:59):
a bond and I build a sense oftrust because they know that
they can depend on me for thatemotional support and maybe
they'll be there for me in thefuture.
And obviously, politically, geopolitically, this does raise
a lot of alarm bells about theeconomy.
Venus, retrograde conjunctSaturn is not a common thing,
especially with the nodes.
But again, subscribe to theSubstack to watch that video and
(19:22):
become a paid subscriber.
But I didn't want to touch onthat in the podcast today.
Mostly, I want to keep that inmy inner circle of Substack
subscribers because I don'treally want to raise any kind of
alarm bells unnecessarily witha public post of any kind, at
least not in the way that Ibrought it up on that show,
because I really wanted to goin-depth on that one.
(19:44):
But yeah, so to summarize, april 7th hopefully you're
already listening to this posteither on April 7th or right
after April 7th, mercury'sdirect.
Definitely expect to have aclear focus right now, a
(20:08):
coherence to your conversations.
I'm meeting with my accountantliterally tomorrow, as Mercury
is direct.
So I have confidence that wecan navigate all the documents
involved in that because Mercuryis direct.
Like I wasn't going to meetwith my accountant during
retrograde.
Mercury retrograde, but Venuscontinues to retrograde, so like
until the 12th.
(20:28):
So if your cognition is sharperespecially if you're a Gemini,
virgo, aries, pisces, becauseyou were the most affected by
the retrogrades even if you're aGemini, virgo, aries, pisces,
because you were the mostaffected by the retrogrades Even
if your cognition is sharperright now, you may still be
reflecting on the relationships, like I said, the values, your
finances, how you want to bespending money that's okay and
also with Saturn there.
(20:49):
Don't give into pessimism orover-cautiousness, because
Saturn just does that.
It creates a bit of a bias.
Now it's a good time to thinkseriously about the long haul,
the long term, like I said.
But don't be so pessimisticthat you're avoiding contact
with people.
Take the time to reach out tosomeone.
We all deserve connection, weall deserve relationships, and
(21:11):
sometimes Venus-Saturn aspectswill uh want to be loners and
lone wolves, and that's okay.
I mean, I have Saturn in theseventh, but you know that's
just how Saturn, venus or Saturnin the seventh house operates,
like it's a little bit moredistant and uh, you know Saturn,
saturn and Venus there is justmaking us all a little bit more,
I think, discouraged from uhseeking connection in a way or
(21:36):
intimacy.
But yeah, but it's somethingyou can overcome.
It's something you can overcomeright now with Saturn and Venus
there, meaning you have thepower to channel these transits
in the best way.
With Saturn, it's about justprioritizing again the people in
your life, getting reallyhonest with them, being serious
(21:57):
with them and laying out yourlong-term vision, your long-term
values and seeing if you guysare synchronized or not.
If not, maybe it's time to moveon and trust that that was the
right decision with the NorthNode.
And if you decide to continue, then great.
You can continue for a longtime with that Venus-Saturn
conjunction and then you knownext week's podcast.
(22:20):
I'm going to talk about theMars-Pluto opposition that
follows, which is really intenseand conflict-prone, but the
Mars-Pluto opposition, I think, can still be really powerful.
Obviously it's just really keyto avoid, you know, hatred,
resentment and bitterness duringthat opposition.
But again, praise the end ofMercury retrograde.
Look forward to that Libra fullmoon, april 12th, as a time of
(22:45):
restoration of balance, trustand fairness and mutuality in a
relationship, or breaking upfrom someone who doesn't meet
you halfway or they don'tcompromise with you ever.
You're going to haverelationships that are really,
again, they know, long-termcompanionship Like these can be
(23:08):
your long-term companions, orthis can be your long-term
companion coming out of thisfull moon on the 12th.
So I'll have a sub-sack postabout the full moon, obviously,
so you'll have to keep track ofthat as well.
(23:29):
But thank you for listening tothis podcast.
I'm Evan Nathaniel Grimm.
This is Astrology Unbound andI'll see you on the next episode
, take care.
