Speaker 1 (00:08):
Hey, there, it's Evan
Nathaniel Grimm, and welcome to
Astrology Unbound, and todaywe're going to discuss the
Sun-Saturn conjunction that'shappening on March 12th.
The Sun-Saturn conjunction onlyhappens once every 378 days,
and it does plant a seed and seta new tone for Saturn in our
conscious awareness, so I'mgoing to discuss that today.
(00:28):
Before I do, though, definitelycheck out my Substack
newsletter.
It does give you in-depthinsight also into every new and
full moon, the key retrogrades.
I also provide manifestationguides, intention-setting
rubrics, journal prompts, andyou can also attend the
occasional webinar.
And you also get 30% off everycourse or video on my website by
(00:51):
becoming a paid Substacksubscriber and you can also by
becoming a Substack subscriber, you can join a group of
like-minded people, and in thosewebinars, you can engage with
other subscribers and ask mequestions, and it's definitely
worth your while.
Also, my 2025 horoscopes arestill available on my website.
Definitely check those out, because those will give you an
(01:14):
advanced notice about the impactof every new and full moon on
your sun, moon and rising signthroughout 2025.
So I've already laid out themeanings of each new and full
moon for the entire year aheadthrough those videos.
So I've already laid out themeanings of each new and full
moon for the entire year aheadthrough those videos.
So you can still access thosethrough my website now.
So let's dive into this week'ssubject the Sun-Saturn
conjunction, the Sun-Saturnalignment, and we have a lunar
(01:38):
eclipse this week.
That's a big deal.
However, I'm saving that for mySubstack newsletter, so another
reason to subscribe.
There is a post about thatcoming in the next few days.
But the Sun-Saturn alignment isalso critical to understand
because this again is planting anew seed regarding the planet
Saturn.
And Saturn will now, over thenext 378 days, play a new role
(02:00):
in our conscious awareness andwe will start to work with that
planet's energy differently andfactor it into our long-term
goals differently, factor itinto again, our conscious almost
expression of our identitydifferently.
And this is very criticalbecause Saturn does pertain to
our long-term goals.
(02:20):
Actually, it also pertains to,you know, our responsibilities,
our commitments, but alsohighlights where we face
challenge and delays.
But before I start to break thatdown, understand why we're
talking about the alignment withthe sun.
This is because it is thebeginning of what's called a
(02:41):
synodic cycle for the planetSaturn, and every planet has a
synodic cycle.
Now, when it comes to thesuperior planets, which are the
planets from Mars outward toPluto, meaning the planets that
are beyond Earth's orbit.
These planets follow a specificsequence where they align with
(03:04):
the Sun and that conjunctionmarks the beginning of the
synodic cycle and then thoseplanets oppose the Sun, which
marks the halfway point of thatplanet's retrograde phase.
It's the halfway point of thesynodic cycle.
That opposition can beconceived of as almost a full
(03:25):
moon moment for that planet, where we fully realize the
impact that that planet ishaving in this synodic cycle.
We understand the impact theplanet is having on our
expression.
We get a better sense of how totweak and optimize that
planet's expression through ouridentity and we can make
(03:48):
adjustments thereafter.
But the synodic cycle can bethought of as like a lunation
cycle for a planet.
So the beginning of the synodiccycle is almost like a new moon
.
So when saturn and the sunalign every 378 days, so
basically every year almost, that is again the genesis of a
(04:09):
new expression of that planet, both in the collective and
individually, and with Saturn.
Again, it's critical to studythis and track this, because the
Sun and Saturn in combinationspeaks to how we would like to
express ourselves in a social, societal context.
Saturn and Jupiter are thesocial planets and together
(04:33):
those planets really pertain tothe ways in which we
contextualize our identity in asociety.
In a society, I always thinkabout Jupiter and Saturn as kind
of forming, with Jupiter almostlike the messaging, the culture
, and then Saturn the norms, therules, the regulations and the
(04:56):
boundaries of that society.
I think about Jupiter as thedissemination of a message or
media message or what's on thebillboards in that society.
And then saturn is like theactual, like rules of the road
or whatever, and, and saturn inparticular has to do with you
know, the laws and also, again, the regulations.
(05:20):
But in many ways it kind ofpertains to like what goes on
our name tag, so to speak.
So anytime you go to like aconference or a function and
you're asked to kind of put onyour name tag, like what you do
for a living quote unquote.
That's very Saturnian.
It's about how we defineourselves socially.
So, are you so-and-so's spouse?
(05:40):
Are you working atsuch-and-such company spouse?
Are you working at such andsuch company?
Are you, you know, working?
Are you striving to become thebest musician or whatever?
Do you belong to thismembership club?
Saturn definitely confers sometype of status, but for this
(06:01):
episode I want to focus onSaturn, I think, in the most
intuitive way, which is reallywell.
With Saturn, it's really aboutcommitting.
It's about committing tosomething consistently and for
the long term, so that we canstabilize around that thing.
So again, so that we canachieve something that maybe
(06:27):
defines us in the eyes of othersand not in a bad way.
But as we sort of strive forthat peak or that success or
that achievement, we do face alot of pressure, either from the
outside, or we face delays.
And Saturn is also a realitycheck.
Think about Saturn as theplanet that comes around every
27 to 29 years to basically handdown this reality check.
(06:51):
And it is the lord of time, lord of karma.
Saturn returns our realitychecks.
They can be forks in the roadwhere we have to commit to
something in a sort of a binarysense.
Do we get married to thisperson or not, do we take this
job or not, do we move acrossthe country or not?
So the Sun-Saturn alignmentevery year, every 378 days, is
(07:14):
an opportunity to express theenergy of Saturn, though which
is so complex in a different way, and to become aware of a new
aspect, almost, of that planet, individually, I mean because we
already know all the meanings ofsaturn.
Like an astrologer can lay outthe 30, 40, 50, however many
(07:36):
keywords we could apply tosaturn, right, and there are
many, but we can like lay thoseall out.
However an individual level, that planet will reveal itself
to us in myriad ways each time, and in this case it's aligning
in the sign of Pisces.
So track where you have Piscesin your chart, what house is it
in.
Definitely is a whole signhouse system for that, by the
(07:59):
way, and so if you're a Cancerrising, it's in your ninth house
, if you're a Gemini rising,it's in your tenth house, and so
on, and so I'm going to explainagain what this means and then
how you can actually use it toyour advantage.
So, with the Sun-Saturnalignment, you are setting a new
(08:19):
tone, setting a new courseregarding your long-term goals,
regarding your commitments, andin the sign of Pisces, you are
establishing some kind of well, some kind of plan that doesn't
have to initiate overnight, butyou are conceiving of a new way
(08:42):
to stabilize the Pisces area ofyour birth chart.
Again, and with Saturn in Pisces, it is sort of ironic, because
Saturn craves stability, order, hierarchy, structure, and it
does remind us that we only haveso much time to accomplish our
(09:05):
objectives and we have to applya certain diligence and focus
towards something.
But in Pisces, pisces is daringSaturn to play a different game
.
Pisces is daring Saturn to keepits options open, to be open to
(09:25):
energy outside of it.
It's asking us to surrender tosomething, to sacrifice.
Well, actually, saturn is a lotabout sacrifice, but more so to
apply some amount of faith tosomething and to not be so
caught up in again the rules ofhow things are supposed to be,
but also to believe that maybethere is something limitless or
(09:48):
something inexplicable about ourreality, whereas Saturn really
shows us the line in the sand, shows us the limitations and
again it can even show us ourkarma in a kind of a brutal way.
You know, the Saturn return canoften, for example, be this
really harsh reality check, where the veneer is ripped off
(10:08):
and people realize theconsequences of their actions.
Or Saturn can be this urgencyto achieve the long-term thing,
such that we delay gratification, we sacrifice pleasures in
order to ensure that we're onthe right path.
It's that energy of not goingto the party so that we can
(10:32):
finish the newsletter orwhatever, which I've experienced
many times.
But with the Sun-Saturnalignment in Pisces, we are
birthing a new vision, a newlong-term vision that is Piscean
, and with the North Node inPisces, neptune in Pisces and an
(11:01):
eclipse in Virgo coming up thisweek, we are ideally some kind
of concrete plan that, nevertheless, is in the ballpark
of something that is incrediblyprofound or divine, ineluctable
, inexplicable, abstract,visionary, creative, right.
And along the way to that, weare currently in the balsamic as
(11:25):
I'm recording this balsamicphase of Saturn, where we're
closing out the previouscyanotic cycle that kicked off
February 28th of last year, which, by the way, featured a
Mercury-Saturn-Sun conjunction,essentially.
So think back to February 28thof last year.
What sort of goals and visionswere you trying to establish
(11:46):
then, or what sort of sombernessor heaviness or depression was
setting in at that time?
The reason I'm going that routeis because we're talking about
the sign of Pisces, and not onlydoes Saturn have this kind of
heavy tone to it because it hasthe ring around it, it has a lot
to do with boundaries.
But in the sign of Pisces we'retalking about energetic health,
(12:06):
mental health, spirituality,mindfulness.
We're talking about addiction,we're talking about toxicity,
we're talking about the immunesystem.
We're talking about sleep anddreams and past lives, and it
goes on and on.
We're talking about endings andletting go and healing.
So the Sun-Saturn alignment inPisces, specifically for some
(12:31):
people and for many people, canbe not an initiation immediately
.
It can be a time of hibernation, of being a hermit you know
being a hermit.
It can be a time where we gointo a cocoon and we meditate
and we simply exist, we simplybe and we simply stand inside of
(12:52):
this just energetic space wherewe quiet the mind, especially
with the South Node in Virgo.
We quiet the thoughts, especially the critical thoughts
in Virgo, and we just finallygive ourselves time and space to
just accept energy, to welcomeit and let it flow through us so
(13:15):
that we can hopefully in theensuing days, start to arrive at
a new way to master the energyof Pisces and the house of our
chart that is ruled by Pisces.
So again, definitely refer toyour chart throughout this
podcast.
Make sure that you use a wholesign system.
Do not use Placidus.
Placidus does not work.
(13:37):
At the far northern latitudes, for example.
I mean, if I see a client fromlike Scandinavia or Estonia, the
house system does not make anysense.
Placidus is again not going tobe accurate, and this is
something I've proven throughdoing global forecasts and
(13:59):
horoscopes, but also doingreadings for clients.
You definitely want to usewhole sign houses.
Simple explanation would bethat Leo is the seventh sign
after Aquarius.
Therefore, leo takes theseventh house, whether it's
through derived houses or in anactual birth chart, with someone
having an Aquarius rising.
(14:19):
So the whole concept of derivedhouses depends on a whole sign
system, by the way, and again, Iuse derived houses to make
horoscopes and global forecastsfor, like your sun sign and your
moon sign, anyways.
So the sun-saturn conjunction ishappening March 12th at 3.28 am
(14:43):
Pacific time, and during thatalignment with the sun, we are
highlighting the energy ofSaturn in Pisces, which is again
kind of in a give and take withPisces.
We are, you could argue, applying a realism to the
visionary sort of creativity anddivinity of Pisces, but we are
(15:08):
also being asked to apply thatrealism again to something that
demands some degree of faith andtrust in an energy outside of
us.
So you know the sun is, youknow, light, right, it's a, is a
bringer.
Well, it's a provider of light.
Right, the sun, when it's inthe sky, helps you think more
(15:32):
clearly, see more clearly.
You can literally see moreeasily, and I always use this
example, like if you take anexam at 2 pm or 2 am, most
people would score higher at the2 pm exam because the sun is
out right, like that isilluminating, it's enlightening,
it is providing thatrationality.
So the sun's going to highlightsomething and it's going to
(15:54):
highlight Saturn here.
And you can think about thislike almost like Kazemi, you
know, when Mercury and the sunline up and there's a Kazemi,
mercury-kazemi, it enhances ourcognition.
Briefly, especially if it's aninferior conjunction during a
retrograde, that is a point ofclarity.
But in the case of a Saturn-Sunconjunction, it is specifically
(16:18):
clarity around Saturnian themes.
So for you this week it couldbe an illumination of your
limits or your delays or yourchallenges.
It could be an illumination ofyour fears, your worries, which
can be Saturn, your sources ofself-consciousness.
(16:41):
It could highlight your need toisolate for a bit and meditate.
It could highlight your need toattend to any mental health
challenges.
It could call you to restoreyour faith in something
spiritual.
So for some people it's actuallya very heavy time because it
(17:03):
can really, with the Sun andSaturn and Pisces, highlight
even health challenges depletion, exhaustion, weakness.
I mean just in terms ofweakness, in terms of just
feeling weak and feeling likewe're down, and so for some
people, it is that reality checkthat they have to take a break,
they have to just take timeaway from the daily grind.
(17:25):
For others, it's an opportunityto map out some kind of plan of
action for accomplishingsomething that, again, is
creative or spiritual orvisionary, or almost like a
dream.
So you're making that dream areality, starting then.
(17:49):
But Saturn is about the longterm.
So it's like what do you haveto do to reach those things long
term, or at least even just toreach it over the next 378 days
until the next synodic cycle, and the next cycle is going to
happen when Saturn is in Aries.
So if I go to the next one, march 25th of 2026, we have
(18:14):
Saturn in the sun at fourdegrees of Aries, and that's
going to take on a completelydifferent tone right before this
massive Aries stellium in April2026, which is like the most
warlike stellium I've ever seen, and that will have a lot more
to do with like theglorification of, you know,
(18:36):
being a hero in some kind ofconflict or war, and I think
that there will be.
There will just be like eventsin 2026 that you know
potentially short sort of showpeople the reality of like again
a plan towards achieving thatgoal.
(18:58):
That dream that is very Pisceanor in Pisces.
It could also be somethingthat's more so healing, or it's
humanitarian, it's selfless, andSaturn might show you the work
(19:19):
that needs to be done so thatyou can serve others and
sacrifice something to helpsomeone else, to heal someone
else, to save someone else.
But for some of you, if you'vebeen swimming in the Neptunian
aspects of Pisces for too long, since 2011 when that planet
entered Pisces, this might helpground you actually and provide
(19:52):
you with a good template forevaluating a situation and
determining if it is too good tobe true.
And it could be that guardrailreminding you not to idealize
someone or something too heavily, to not get too carried away
with these delusions of grandeur, to again merge the dream with
the plan and that just dependson where you're at, depends on
(20:16):
the exact components of yourbirth chart.
So the answer is it could beeither or Some of you, it's
going to ground you, provide youwith the reality check to put
you back on track.
For others, it's a time whereyou know, you realize that you
(20:39):
do have to dream a little bitbigger.
Have to dream a little bitbigger because maybe, with the
South Node and Virgo, you'vebeen too caught up in the
useless details or you'veallowed perfectionism to get in
the way, and part of thiseclipse, which is very close to
this Kazemi of Saturn and theSun, it's actually happening
about a day after you know thatalignment of Saturn and the Sun
(21:13):
with the eclipse.
You know we can't leave thatout of the equation today.
Perfectionism, any kind of likeneurotically high standards
that impede action, and so weare ideally doing something very
(21:33):
nuanced here, where we'retaking time to quiet the mind,
to re-enter the garden, so tospeak, the garden before we bit
from the apple, from the tree ofknowledge, before we started
thinking so much Like there is asense in which thinking is the
(21:54):
enemy.
There is a sense in which thehyper-analysis of everything is
deleterious to our or evenparalyzing us, and most of the
time when we have to make animportant decision, there are
equal sets of pros and cons, andso analysis eventually fails.
(22:15):
So oftentimes, when we make themost important decisions in our
life, we actually have tomeditate on it.
We have to have this experienceof gnosis or experiential
knowledge, not necessarilyknowledge that was gathered from
, you know again, books orsources of information.
We just return to the gardenprecognition in a way or
(22:40):
whatever, however you want tocast it, but like we return to
this place where we justexperience the energy that is
everywhere, the pervasive energy, the infinite, the inexplicable
again, the ineluctable, themystifying.
We just have a directexperience with it, we directly
(23:04):
know it and we arrive at theanswer.
And maybe we take thissun-saturn conjunction to
meditate and then, after wearrive at that decision through
the meditation, then we can goout there and lay out the plan.
Or maybe we just decide to gooff of intuition.
(23:24):
At that point, and I think thehonest answer is for most people
it will be a mixture ofseparating the wheat from the
chaff and realizing there arecertain things in our life that
we've been delusional about.
There are other things in ourlife that we haven't been
dreaming big enough about.
So you just have to apply areally good sort of thermometer
(23:49):
or take the temperature of allthese things.
Just get an accurate read onthe state of your dreams or your
life and what is inspiring toyou at this point?
What's inspiring you?
Because the more that somethinginspires you, the more
(24:10):
effortless it will be.
I mean to attain and to workthrough it'll feel effortless,
and the more uninspiringsomething is, the more depleting
it will be.
The more inspiring something is, the more energizing it will be
.
So, even though the Sun-Saturnconjunction itself is a time to
get really serious, actually, either about the dream or about
grounding ourselves from thedelusion, in either case we
(24:35):
should be able to come out ofthis with a high degree of
inspiration.
So every sign, of course, willbe affected differently, and you
again want to look up the housewhere you have Pisces and then
look up the meaning of thathouse.
But what I would do is, youknow, on March 12th, just set
(25:02):
some time aside to not think, like literally, just don't think
for a bit.
On March 12th, allow energy tocourse through you.
Don't try to chase aftersomething, don't try to attach
to anything.
Practice a healthy detachmentfrom thoughts, from thinking,
(25:26):
see what emerges and revealsitself to you, just kind of put
that in your back pocket ordecide to map out a plan and
then the very next day in theevening, march 13th into 14th,
we have the lunar eclipse invirgo which is going to ask you
to suspend and let go of certainyou know, either neurotic
tendencies or over analysis orrepetitive cycles, to let go of
(25:52):
work that's not inspiring, tolet go of patterns that have
kept us in the same loop for along time vis-a-vis our daily
habits, to make adjustments toour health practices, fitness
practices and so on.
Health practices, fitnesspractices and so on.
(26:13):
And you know, let that go, letthat be a purge that helps you
progress towards these Pisceandreams.
I also do think, though, formany of you it will be a time to
reflect on health, though Ithink for many people this is
about deciphering and decoding.
Maybe just a health issue thatyou've maybe had for a long time
(26:37):
, that's been hard to explain ordiagnose.
Maybe you just arrive at somerevelation about that, or you
suddenly realize that you haveto organize your day differently
to master your health.
So for some of you, you'reshuffling around your schedule
as well to support that goodhealth.
I also think, in the collective, we might find out some kind of
(26:58):
somber news about either areligious figure or executive,
or a leader or prime minister orpresident.
We also might experience somenews about Piscean storms, but
that might also happen duringthe sun.
Neptune Kazemi a couple dayslater.
(27:20):
We also might discover somewater quality related things,
air quality related things, pollution, toxins, gas and
oil-related things.
There could be some kind ofbottleneck in a maritime context
shipping delays, something withseaports, complications at
(27:40):
seaports.
We also could discoversomething about a healthcare
executive and there could besome kind of medical malpractice
or medical study in the news.
I think actually that hasalready kind of been underway
with the RFK Jr announcementabout a study that's going to or
there's going to be some kindof research or study
(28:01):
commissioned about whether ornot there's a link between
vaccines and autism, and I thinkthat does fit the between
vaccines and autism and I thinkthat does fit the energy of that
.
You know, lunar eclipse invirgo, and I kind of talked
about that in my youtube videopredicting march, but anyways,
there's a whole range of themeslike this that the collective
could be experiencing.
(28:22):
But I I actually do think therewill be some heavy news about
the health of either a celebrityor a religious leader or a
president or executive.
And you know again, evensomebody you know will get back
(28:42):
to you about a health concern, not necessarily a concern about
you, but someone might just tellyou like, oh hey, I have to
deal with this thing now Becausewith Saturn, we're dealing with
chronic conditions in Pisces.
Saturn and Pisces, with the Sunthere can sometimes highlight
chronic health issues orlong-term health issues that
have to be dealt with.
(29:03):
So for some people, the realitycheck is to take a different
approach to health and for someit's about mental health and
some people might just take aweek off or a day off or a month
off and tend to that.
Or some people maybe have beenworking super hard through a
(29:25):
health issue and they finallyjust take a day to recover
finally, or take a little bitmore time to recover.
The South Node in Virgo istelling us to get out of
repetitive habits that have beencorrosive to our health.
And you know, Pisces, I think, and Cancers and Libras probably
(29:48):
need the most love right now,and maybe even Virgos.
But like Libras, you've beenreally trying to deal with a lot
of master health issues rightnow.
A lot of Libras have been goingthrough it.
I mean that actress Michelle, what's her name?
You know that actress Michelle, what's her name?
(30:09):
Michelle Trachtenberg, I thinkis her name right.
I'm totally blanking right now,but I think it's Michelle.
Yeah, michelle Trachtenberg, you know she was a Libra.
She passed away recently and Iwas talking on a TikTok live
(30:30):
recently today.
You know that Libras I feel likeyou know, not to scare people,
but like I know, I feel like Imean I know more Libras who have
passed away in the past year, since Saturn's been in Pisces
than any other zodiac sign.
And then people on my TikToklive show were like, yeah, I
know people.
I just like someone was like.
People on my TikTok live showwere like, yeah, I know people.
(30:50):
Someone was like I know Libraswho have passed away as well.
And that's not to say that anyLibra listening to this should
be worried.
But Saturn is in a 6,000 aspectto Libra sun and moon and in
the 6,000 for Libra rising.
That is a lot about masteringhealth.
I had Saturn in my 6,000 in2015, 16, 17.
Obviously, I didn't pass away, but it was a reality check for
(31:16):
me with my health.
I had to address lingeringfatigue and it turned out to be
low vitamin D and just a lack ofexercise.
But during those times Idoubled down on new routines
that promoted better health andever since then I have been
healthier.
Like that was a low point forme.
You know, pisces right now alsomight be dealing with some
(31:36):
strange health issues, but andjust fatigue.
So, pisces, you also want touse this alignment with the sun
to either get clarity on yourexhaustion or to just take time
to relax and reassess your goals.
Cancer is you've still haveMars in your first house or in
your sign, so you've been reallystressed.
(31:57):
So you also definitely want totake some time to recuperate.
And Virgos, I mean you have theeclipse in your first house, so
emotions are running high, butyou want to let those emotions
out, to really experience thatcathartic release.
Anyways, that's all I'm going toaddress for today, a quick
(32:17):
episode, but definitelysubscribe to the Substack.
Get the insights about theeclipse coming up through the
newsletter I'll be posting thatnewsletter in the next day.
Or two Clips coming up throughthe newsletter I'll be posting
that newsletter in the next dayor two.
Get the 2025 horoscopes to getan advanced notice about every
new and full moon this year.
And, by the way, you're goingto hear it here first I am going
(32:39):
to be launching an astrologycourse very soon about planetary
retrogrades no-transcript, thisis going to be hours of content
(33:08):
just about retrogrades, so it'sactually going to be the most
in-depth I've gone on any topic.
I've never talked about asingular topic for multiple
hours like that.
So very excited to start thisnew era of courses and, as
always, definitely subscribe tothe podcast, give it a rating,
(33:32):
give it a review, feel free topost about it.
I do appreciate your support.
I know I took last week off.
That's because I went to anOscars after party, so it was
just one of those, one of thoseLA things, I guess.
But I usually record these onSundays on the night before I
post, so in that case I ran outof time.
(33:54):
Last weekend was super busy, but I am still here.
I promise I'm going to continueto publish these episodes and
I'm going to explore a lot ofinteresting topics in the coming
weeks that I don't usuallyaddress in my content.
So I am going to add a differentflavor to the podcast because I
know sometimes these episodeskind of brush up against my
(34:19):
other channels like very closely, and some of you might
sometimes wonder how much of anadvantage you get from the
podcast.
I think you still get a hugeadvantage, even when I'm
doubling down on the same topicyou would see me cover on other
channels.
But I am going to startexploring more fringe topics
that are, I think, in some wayseven more interesting, because I
(34:42):
have a forum here to actuallyaddress things in long form, and
the videos I post usually arevery short, so I can't get into
the nuance.
