(00:52):
And good Tuesday morningeverybody. Welcome. This is Azeroth
Morning Radio. Greetings man. It's episode four. And here it is.
Warcraft for the rest of usare the nine to fivers. Those of
us who are parents. You have30 minutes to play whatever it is.
But you definitely loveAzeroth. We are your host. My name
(01:12):
is Jibs and I'm joined by thetwo time champion 2023 and 2024 Gnomergan
long jump, my good friend Keshe.
Greetings man. I don't know ifit would work for me to even be able
to enter the gnomeregan longjump competition.
Hey yeah, spoiler. It wouldn'twork. You'd crush the little ankle
(01:35):
biters. Can you imaginewatching gnomes trying to do a long
jump?
Could you imagine me trying todo a long jump against gnomes? Like
I'm out of the competition.Dude, you would. Because I'm 63 and
a gnome is an ankle biter to me.
You soar over the board, landon another gnome, foot in the face.
(02:00):
Sorry about that. My bad.
Oh, sorry everybody. Oh buddy. My goodness. What? Have you been
doing a game this week?
Yeah. Ignoring my main.
How's. How you feeling on weektwo of this?
I actually feel really good.I've had. I've had a good amount
of time to play this week andI have really gotten into Legion
(02:23):
remix a bunch. I'm hitting allthe rewards. I. I haven't been doing
much purchasing of things. I'mjust kind of letting it accumulate,
letting all that bronzeaccumulate. And I checked today and
I had like 520,000 bronzesitting in my bank. And so I finally
started spending today. Ibought all the class mounts and just
(02:49):
started kind of bird doggingsome of the transmogs that I wanted.
There's a bunch of them. Iended up buying that. That spriggan.
I bought that spriggan. It'slike a hundred thousand bronze.
Oh yeah.
And yeah, I ended up buying it.
Nice.
And I was bummed because it'slike, it's like gnome size. It's
super tiny. When you look atit in the, in the little paper doll
(03:10):
thing where you can.
Yeah.
Preview things. Yeah, it looksbig. It looks like it's tall. And
then I summon the thing andit's like, looks like it got hit
by the, by the, Was that TheGnome Reducer 5000?
Oh, the commercial. The GnomeEnlarger 5000. Gnome Enlarger.
Yeah. It, it definitely wasnot enlarged. It got reverse gnome
(03:31):
enlarged. So it's tiny, butstill pretty cool.
Yeah.
So I bought that and then justa bunch of, A bunch of transmogs.
I got the first big piece offel armor. Ooh, the first big set.
Yeah, I finished that up lastnight. And that set is to die for.
It's gorgeous.
That's awesome. Yeah, I'mstarting to see some people. It seems
(03:54):
to be like a slow filter andmaybe people just aren't using it.
I know there's been plenty ofpeople that have hit 80 for quite
some time already, so I'mimagining that they're just not using
it. But you're starting to seemore and more people using that set.
It's beautiful, man.
Yeah. And that's one thingabout Legion Remix is that transmogs
are free, so you can transmogat any time. And there's usually
transmogs all over the placebecause the gear changes out so quickly
(04:17):
in Remix that everybody, forthe most part, unless you're actively
transmogging, like every 10minutes, everybody's walking around
looking like a circus clown, which is all this different mismatched
armor and stuff on.
Yeah.
I got to the point to where Ikind of don't care. Every once in
a while, like when I go backto Dalaran to turn in research quests
(04:40):
and such, I will, I'lltransmog. And then it lasts for 10
minutes because you'realready, you're just picking up gear
finish quest so fast. Yeah, super fast. And especially because
I'm slamming dungeons.
Yeah.
And slamming raids.
Yeah. That's awesome. Yeah,it's a good time. It's, you know,
you have done a better jobholding off playing your, your retail
(05:01):
character than I have, admittedly. I was really feeling
it. I was really missing roleplay. I was really missing just being
on my, my main. I scratched alittle bit of the PvP itch. I, I,
I, I definitely took a daywhere I went back and, and just kind
of did all the things I wantedto do on my retail characters. And
though. And so today actually,as, as of this recording, hopped
(05:24):
back in on Legion and waspushing, pushing more content. But
yeah, yeah, I'm definitelymissing Retail Remix is fun, but
I'm definitely missing myretail character. And I found, Yeah,
I found through Remix that ithas reminded me why I read all the
Quest text. Why I love theLore. Because when you are not doing
(05:48):
that thing and you're justburning through it, you know, to
get whatever you need to getwhile the events going on, transmogs
and all that stuff, not havingthat connection point, it's just
like, I don't know how peopledo it. Like, I feel as though I'm
nowhere near as connected to acharacter. You know what I mean?
Yeah, I felt like I was a bitbehind right off the bat because
(06:09):
again, I rolled another druidand I was taking my druid through
the class hall story. And so Istarted in Val' Sharah and I was
just, I was doing that and Iwas reading the quest text and I
just, I started off just like, okay, I want to, I want to see this
story again. And then Irealized that it's, it's not super
(06:32):
feasible if you want to kindof keep up.
Yeah.
So about, about halfwaythrough, I would say I stopped reading
a lot of quest text, especially because, like, you know,
we're, if we're in a channelwith friends or something, it's,
it's, it's so hard. Like, Ihave to just like you, if I'm diving
into lore, which I do prettyfrequently, I turn the music up,
(06:55):
I turn the ambience up. I'mnot in channel and I just concentrate
on the story and just, youknow, living my character's life
in Azeroth. And I completelyrealize how dorky that sounds and
I've accepted this. So. Butthat, I mean, that's at times, that's
how I like to enjoy the game. There's times where I want to just
(07:16):
kind of play by myself andjust cruise. And even like today
I was, I was playing and I gottwo discord calls and I'm like, nope,
not right now. I just, justwanted to play and zone out and just
enjoy my character. So Legionmakes it a little tough to do that.
The Remix does because it'sjust everything is moving so quickly
(07:36):
and I'm just trying to slamdungeons, slam raids and slam quests
and just, you know, move on asquick as I can. Because, I mean,
we only have like 95 daysleft. Yeah, remix.
And you know what? Only andhonestly, Housing is going to be
releasing before Remix is overwith. So you're going to see a sharp
drop off, I imagine at somepoint when Housing releases.
(07:58):
Yeah, I would imagine as soonas people have a couple of characters
in and they've gotten all theTransmog they want. Like, I'm not
going to 100% remix. Becausethere's stuff that I just don't want.
I'll probably just grabeverything I want. I might roll a
second character just todabble and just to. Just to level
one up. But, you know, comethis weekend for us actually be before
(08:21):
the release of our show. There's something coming up that
is very near and dear to myheart every year.
Oh, yeah.
And it starts, you know, theSaturday before the show launches,
which is Hollow's end. And Iam currently staring at the completionism
right now for it. I've gotsome work to do, but I'm really looking
(08:42):
forward to that.
Yeah, me too. And gosh, that's. And you and I are both the
same. Like, we both loveHollow's end and we both love the
Christmas event. Great Father. Was it winter or. I don't. I forget
the exact.
Great father Winter.
Yeah. Yeah. I love it, man. Ilove it, love it, love it. I love
being there on the day whenthey give. When the tree gives all
the gifts and everyone isaround the tree. Oh, I love it, man.
(09:03):
It's funny. Cause I wastelling my wife the story about that
the other day. And thehilarious part is that I could tell
in her face she could. Shecould have given two shits about
the story I was talking about, dude. But I'm telling her a story
about the Abominable Snowmanand how, you know, one of. One of
the reindeer are missing and Idon't even know how we got in. I
(09:26):
think he was just talking about.
You're brave telling her all that.
I know I'm dumb. I think I wasjust excited because the holidays
are here.
Yeah.
And that is my favorite timein my real life. And it's my favorite
time in gaming.
Oh. Yeah.
So.
Oh, hey, by the way, to thoseof you who are subbed for 12 months,
(09:47):
the new mount rewards are out.We got the Astral Arak, aka Space
Bull and the grandiose G Lock, which is a Murloc that's juiced to
the gills. And it's actuallypretty awesome. I didn't realize
how big he was. And I got himout and I was middle of Stormwind
and I'm literally smack dab inthe middle of all the RP with my
(10:07):
character. And he just, youknow, when you summon him, he like,
like steps away from you soyou can jump up on him or something.
And he's just huge. Andthere's our peers all around me and
I'm like, oh, sorry.
Yep. Mergle. Mergle. He'sawesome. I actually Is this a reskin?
I think so.
(10:28):
Of last year?
Yeah.
Because I already have the onefrom last year, which is a little
bit of a bummer, honestly.
Yeah.
Like, if you're. If you'redoing the annual subscription, which
I have for probably threeyears now.
Yeah.
They should change that up.
I mean, I think it. I thinkit'd be cool if they did. Granted,
(10:49):
this is my first year longsubscription I've ever done. Just.
Just this year actuallystarted like last month. And so for
me, like, it was. This is allnew. So, like, I'm. I'm okay with
it, but I totally could seewhy you'd say that. Like, I get it.
Yeah. And I mean, this, again,is. This is coming from a guy that
had a second account just toget the Buddy Rewards. Because it
(11:11):
was like one of the. It wasone of the. It's one of the coolest
backpacks in the game. I thinkthe thing that you got. It was two
years ago, the buddy pack.Yeah. So I maintained a second subscription
for just for that. And it was100% worth it to get those rewards.
That's when you know you're ano lifer. Like, I've heard all kinds
of comments about the mount, the $99 brontosaurus mount that you
(11:35):
could buy that has the auctionhouse on it. And you know what? I
thought. I've thought aboutthat and I sat on it and I sat on
it for all this time, and nowI'm thinking, I'm like, that sucker
ever comes back, I'm buyingthat mount. Yeah, I want that.
Totally. And it's. It's hardto. It's hard to justify 100 bucks.
I mean, that is 100% a cashgrab. So for a lot of people, as
a principle, sure, it was a.It was. Sure, it was just the principle
(11:57):
of the thing. Like, they knowthat people are going to want this
mount and they know thatthey're going to get some of the
people. So let's just mark itup. And now I see it around town,
I'm just like, oh, I shouldhave mowed more lawns. Side job.
Mowing lawns just to get them out.
Yeah. Yeah. Honestly, I wishthat mount was half the price. But
(12:19):
anyway, that's. That's storyfor another time. But anyway, folks,
welcome again to the show. This week on the episode, we have
the heroes calls returning. We've also got all kinds of other
goodies going on with thenews. And then, of course, Snark
makes its return. But beforewe get there, folks, we're Gonna
have a quick commercial break. We'll be right back.
(12:40):
Have you ever trimmed a treebranch only to have it scream back
at you, hey, that was my arm.At Darnass Tree Service, we know
the difference between a treethat needs pruning and a tree that's
(13:04):
going to punch you for trying. Our certified arborists, trained
in both horticulture anddiplomacy, will carefully inspect
your property for overgrowntrees, corrupted roots, or ancient
beings of a wrathful nature.Uh, boss, I think this oak just blinked
(13:28):
at me. That's why we send onlythe best. Each of our team members
carries the officialDarnassian Tree Whisperer certification,
ensuring clear communicationbetween you and your leafy neighbors.
So whether you need a branchtrimmed, a stump removed, or an angry
(13:49):
treant convinced to move twofeet to the left, call Darnassus
Tree Service. Because notevery tree needs cutting. Some just
need a little respect. Finally, someone gets it.
Hi, my name is Kaross, andwhen I'm not purposefully giving
(14:12):
my healer a hard tag forplaying blood decay, I'm listening
to Azeroth Morning Radio. Allright, everybody, welcome back.
It is time for the Heroes Call.
Heroes Call Friends. This weekwe are doing something a little bit
(14:36):
new. We haven't really talkedtoo, too well. We talked a little
bit about Facebook, but we aregoing to go to basically a question
that there was on a Facebookgroup that we are part of, and this
particular one is just titled. This Facebook group is titled World
of Warcraft. There's about107,000 members in there, so just
a few, but it's a prettypopping place. There's always, you
(14:58):
know, all kinds of posts andstuff happening every single day.
But this one caught my eye,and it was a question from a gentleman
called named Mason Trujillowhere he asked a question about there
being an add on for Legionremix to track purchases like the
one that they had in the Mistsof Pandaria Remix and this. I put
(15:22):
an answer in there for himbecause although, you know, this
person was looking forsomething specific to track purchases,
it reminded me of a couple ofthings. The first one was an add
on called all the Things. AndI. I looked that one up just to get
the description for you guys, because this one is actually very,
(15:44):
very helpful. And thedescription reads, do you find yourself
completing old content just sothat you can literally get everything
for your collections? Say nomore. All the Things will help you
with your endeavor by givingyou the ability to track the completion
for everything. And it tracksthings like achievements, quests,
different appearances, mounts, pets, toys, titles, and Then it's
(16:08):
got. Everything's likeresizable, which is really cool.
It's got an auto mini list foryou so you can have it right there
on your screen. And then itdoesn't mess with Blizzard's API.
So it's. It will. It's gonnasurvive the cut, it looks like. So
anyway, that's all the thingsadd on and we're gonna talk more
about add ons here in a littlewhile, but this one is. Is super
(16:30):
helpful. The other thingMason's question reminded me about
was something that I recentlyLearned about on YouTube and then
actually went and joined it tohave myself another tool just on
a. On a side screen while I'mplaying. And this one, a lot of people
probably know about this, somepeople probably don't know about
(16:52):
this, but it's. It's prettyfantastic. It's called completionism.com
and this is basically atracker for every expansion. I think
it works with, with Classic aswell, but syncs up with your Battle.net
account and it will track allkinds of things for you. And there
(17:17):
is a tab for Legion Remix soyou can basically figure out all
the things that you've done, all the achievements that you. That
you've achieved. And the onethat I'm looking at right now is
the one for Hollow's End. Andagain I was saying like I have a
little bit more work to do butyou know, it tracks like for Hollows
and specifically like tricksand treats for Eastern Kingdom, tricks
(17:38):
and treats for KalimdorOutland, all, you know, all of Azeroth.
And then it's got pet stufffor the event and basically all the
achievements like it's allthere, all the quests or the event
are all there. And it givesyou a big red X or a green check
mark if you've finished thosethings on your character. So anyway,
(18:01):
just wanted to throw that outthere for the Heroes call board.
On this one there was a lot ofpeople that had some really good
answers in there for, forMason. And again it's. It's all part
of what the Heroes call boardis for us. And that's just highlighting
what the community's doing outthere and you know, questions like
this, cool things that they'redoing and little tips and tricks
so we can help you be a better player.
(18:23):
It's such a cool website. Likebefore the show I was sitting here
just looking througheverything for Hallow's End and lo
and behold, there's the onething I've been looking for all year.
I kid you not all year. Andthat is the prowlers. Faded headgear,
the black head piece and theshoulders. I didn't realize that
was a part of Hollow's End.
Ooh, I found it.
(18:43):
Yeah. Yeah. So I am going tobe jumping in that. I'm definitely
hooking my account. It's stufflike this that makes me appreciate
the. Wow. The Warcraftcommunity. And like, when you create
within the Warcraft community, you have so many tools at your disposal
that have been created fromthe community itself, whether it's
websites or guilds or, youknow, something else. Spreadsheet
(19:06):
after spreadsheet, you know, depending on what you're in. You
know, a lot of role playershave menus that they make for their
thing. Like, you have so manyfun things that you can do. And it's
all within, you know, aroundthe world. We all love. And that's
Azeroth, man. And just like, gosh, I. I love. I love people.
Yeah. And I mean, it's a hugecommunity. Right. So there's always
somebody out there that. Thathas the technical knowledge to put
(19:30):
tools and stuff like this in.There's people that are. That do
spreadsheets and there'speople that take it a step further
and they'll do databases andstuff like this for you. I mean,
look at. Look at how, like, wowhead started. Yeah, right.
Yeah.
One last thing I want to hit.If Hollow's End is your thing, one
more little add on that I'mgoing to talk about here is called
(19:50):
Candy Buckets. And CandyBuckets is available on Curse Forge.
And basically it will tell youit's just an easy way to track the
candy buckets that are acrossthe world. But it also works for
the Lunar Festival andMidsummer Fire Festival as well.
So anyway, Candy Buckets do it.
(20:11):
I forgot all about that addon. Oh, man, I gotta reinstall that.
Do you have it installed already?
I keep it all year.
Do you? That's awesome.
Yeah. Yeah. Just to remind methat at any one time throughout the
year, Hollow's End is always coming.
Guess what? Add on. I got ridof the. Rid of this past week.
Dbm.
(20:31):
I got rid of dbm. I'mpreparing myself.
Yeah, it's. We're gonna talkabout it, but it's gonna get interesting.
I just want to say this realquick. I did one dungeon without
it. It was really quiet andpeaceful. I didn't have things yelling
at me or anything. I'm justlike, oh, okay, all right.
(20:52):
That's gtfo. You think thatsomeone's launching A nuclear strike
on you?
Yeah. Oh, yeah, absolutely.
I'm staying in the wrong spot.Damn. No wonder my feet are all tingly.
Oh gosh, that's right. Soanyway, yeah, folks, again you can
always email us or tweet at usor not tweet at us, hit us up on
Facebook or something elseentirely. If you see something that's
(21:13):
awesome that's going on,maybe, you know, there's something
that's upcoming within thecommunity itself, something we can
highlight here on the show. Weabsolutely will. So that said, it's
time for the news. Breaking news.
Breaking news. Brought toyou's from the Goblin News Network.
(21:34):
So the news this week. Now onething I was really hoping that we'd
have, but we didn't have atthe time of the recording, basically
because when we had to recordthis week was that we don't have
an updated Hollows end articlefrom. From Warcraft. However, we've
already kind of talked aboutHallows End all the way up to this.
But you know, like it's justone of those special events that
(21:55):
comes to Azeroth and you know, that's probably like a whole nother
discussion for another day.Like the importance of events and
the impact of events within anmmo. You know, being that we've experienced
so many different ones. Likethe one from Guild Wars 2, their
Halloween version. That wascrazy. You know, there's also stuff
in. I think it's. SWTOR hasstuff as well. Eso definitely does,
(22:15):
but you know, like, anyway, yeah, I'm looking forward to Hollows
in.
Yeah. And that's somethingthat we, we, we really enjoy. We
like to cover stuff like that.So probably at some point we're gonna,
we're gonna cover holidays.
Yeah.
Events. Because they are.Warcraft is just packed with events
and, and holiday stuff. So.Yeah, a good topic.
(22:38):
I don't know if it's therelease cadence, you know, like for
this expansion that they'vehad, you know, the. Every. Every
few weeks I forget the numberand I know people are yelling it
as they listen. I'm sorry, buthow many weeks it is in between patches,
like major patches. Thatrelease cadence, is it eight?
Okay, eight weeks.
Eight weeks, yeah. So withthat eight week release cadence combined
(22:59):
with the events that happenwithin the game, I don't know if
you ever feel this way, butsometimes I feel like I'm just barely
keeping up. Like I am justbarely able to keep my head above
water with everything that'sgoing on.
Yeah, it can certainly feelthat way. And I'll tell you what.
That's a good problem to have.Oh yeah, gosh, it is a good problem
(23:21):
to have. There's always newstuff coming out, you know, whether
it's. Whether it's a holidayevent or something. But you know,
like for us, if there's aholiday event that we have interest
in, we will damn near stopeverything else to dive into those
holiday events.
Yeah, definitely.
I definitely do. ForThanksgiving, Easter, Halloween and
(23:45):
Christmas events. For all ofthose. I will full pull.
Yeah.
Until I'm. Until I'm done.
Yeah. You know what we shoulddo this year to celebrate the new
year for 2026. I don't knowhow we can do it. I wonder if we
could get everyone that we'redoing. I'm doing this live. Sorry.
This is probably more an offair conversation. We should get everybody
together to celebrate thefireworks. The new year fireworks
(24:07):
that they do. I've never seen them.
Crystal.
No, well, the was the December31st or January 1st. They're they
doing like leading up to that?I think it's every hour. We should
get a group of people togetherand watch them.
Cool. And do what? Light themoff ourselves?
Maybe. Yeah.
He hates it.
(24:28):
Dumb idea. It's a dumb idea.Fine. He hates it. All right.
Have an ambulance card onstandby to take all the. To take
the amputees to the. TheStormwind er. Every lighting off,
sparklers in their hand andthen bam. Life's changed forever,
friends.
Your life's changed forever. Ilove those X rays. You see that?
(24:52):
Yeah, I've seen them live. Ohyeah. In front of my face.
Yeah, that you have.
No fun.
No, no, no fun. But anyway, folks. All right, so the article
here today. This is From Worldof Warcraft.com so Midnight Prologue
quote unquote the warningcontent update in housing early access.
So there was an update to allof this leading up to this article
(25:14):
and that was that. Housing PTRtesting has been delayed due to some
unforeseen issues thatBlizzard was having. However, for
the article we can set thestage. So with the ghost of Crush
storyline concluded, they sayhere the warning update bridges the
war within in the upcomingmidnight expansion. So Azeroth is
(25:34):
now facing ominous visions ofXalata and the ever advancing void.
And players are being quote, welcomed home with one of wow's most
requested features, playerhousing. So as the campaign continues,
we know that there is a newthreat. And Verisa Windrunner is
plagued with visionsforetelling the fall of Quel'. Thalas.
(25:56):
Players will continue the warwithin campaign to uncover this prophecy's
dark meaning and its ties tothe void. This update sets up key
story threads that willcontinue into Midnight. You know,
we weren't here. We weren't.Yeah, we weren't here. I mean, we
were there, but we weren'tlive with this show when Midnight
was announced at Gamescom. Andone of the things that. And this
(26:20):
is a kind of a random stop, but one of the main. The themes that
we see a lot in Midnight ishope. You see that a lot from the
vibes that you get from thatcinematic. I don't know about you,
dude, but when all those. The.The Paladin showed up, I kind of
teared up a little bit, man.Like, that was. That was a moment.
And I'm not even a Blood Elf,like, fan. Like, I don't have a class
(26:42):
with that at all. I never havebeen. I appreciate the lore, but
I've never really been super,Super Blood Elfie. But that was a
moment, dude. That was amoment, man.
Hang on, hang on.
What?
You've never been Super BloodElfie? No.
What?
Is that a thing?
Well, you called me RPs lastweek, so why can't this be a thing?
(27:05):
Well, it's because you enjoythe RPs.
See, you make it sound like adisease every time. That's what I
couldn't say last time inthere. Anytime you say that, I feel
like it's
Ladies and gentlemen, we haveapproached yellow flag territory.
It is a form of a disease. Imean, it's a cool disease, but. Yeah,
anyway. Yeah, I'm with you onthis. I didn't tear up, but I would
(27:28):
imagine that if it had been astory revolving around the Kaldorei
and the Druids, and it was asimpactful as the midnight teaser
was, I probably would haveteared up, too.
Well, like, you see LadyLiadrin and she's just there praying
and praying and praying. Andnow on the gates are basically being
(27:51):
beat down and you have him outand I forget, oh, this is bad. I
forget I'm having a moment.I'm forgetting the name of the main
Blood Elf that's out there. But anyway, he's just fighting to
hold the line. And she'spraying and praying and praying and
praying. And then at the lastmoment, a hand reaches out. It's
just like a moment and, oh, Ican't. I can't wait. And so, like,
(28:12):
the whole vibe, the wholetheme around, at least so far, what
we've seen. Yes, we have abunch of threats. We're going to
deal with but is hope.
Yeah, I'm with you. I'm withyou on that. I see what you're getting
at. And you know, games have areally good way of explaining and
paralleling. That's probably abetter term to use. They have a really
(28:32):
good way of paralleling mainthemes that are going on in a game
with things that are going onin either real life or your own life.
It hits people differently. Soit doesn't matter if you know you're
facing ominous visionsXalatath and hope is what you reach
(28:54):
for or if you're experiencingsome gnarly trial in your life and
the video game that you'replaying reminds you that hope is
what you reach for. You knowwhat I mean? I don't mean for that
to sound corny.
No, it's true though.
A funny, quirky show, but itdoes draw a lot of parallels and
(29:16):
it can bring things home thatare, you know, can be emotional for
people. So.
Absolutely.
They do a great job with theircinematics. Like there is no doubt.
Dude, I've been eyeing. I'vebeen eyeing this four hour video
on YouTube that is all of theWorld of Warcraft cinematics and
lore together. And I'm like, Iwant to do it, but it's like, it's
(29:42):
terrifying. It's like watchingthe extendo version of Lord of the
Rings, dude.
In a heartbeat, dude.
How awesome though.
Oh, yeah.
To see the evolution.
Yeah.
Of Warcraft cinematics.
Absolutely.
The since the beginning. Youknow, the one that still gets me
what's up? Is the one fromclassic in 2004 where you see the
(30:07):
dwarf in. In Ironforge in the.The mountains of Ironforge and he's.
He's using. He's using his. He's got his rifle and he's coming
over the rise and his bearswith him. Yeah, that one for some
reason just gets me. I wouldlove to see them recreate that in
4K.
Yeah.
So awesome. Amazing. But forsome reason that one just gets me.
(30:31):
Yeah.
It's so nostalgic, you know, when.
If and when. I imagine it willbut Heroic tier. So like the, the
system in remix that increasesthe difficulty if and when that comes
to retail and we're actuallyable to go back and do all the old
things and really make it feellike a challenge. Right. And just
(30:51):
really take in all the lorethat we've. We've all loved for so
long. I would absolutely doall that in order with those cinematics.
And speaking of just off thetop of the head, I'm sorry But there's
an add on called Lore LibraryI downloaded the other day. You can
watch the cinematics from ingame and read all the free comics
that Blizzard came out put outfrom in. In the game.
On an add on?
(31:12):
On an add on. It's called LoreLibrary. Look it up.
Oh yeah, that's pretty cool.
It is pretty cool.
Actually. I'm making a note onmy Palm.
Pilot on my palm. On myBlackBerry. Let me write on. Anyway,
so we've also got a housingearly access. This is going to be
arriving so players who'veadded midnight to their account can
(31:34):
now enter the early accesswith a suite of initial features.
This includes decor, collection and room customization,
room layouts andneighborhoods. This includes guild
and charter neighborhoods as well.
Ooh, flying within neighborhoods.
Yeah. So flying withinneighborhoods you've got legacy and
profession based rewards.Yeah, dude, I didn't know we were
(31:55):
going to be able to fly in neighborhoods.
I did not know that either. And now I'm. I'm. That makes me very
happy. That is really neat, dude.
It's going to be awesome forour guild though to be in with everybody
in the massive neighborhood.Think of all the festivities.
There has been a lot of reallygood videos that have come out. I
(32:16):
watched one on YouTube theother night from Soul Breezy and
he was doing a lot of thetesting for housing.
Oh really?
And they, they startedallowing not just the inside of your
house to be, you know, thatsystem to be tested, but they started
letting the outside of yourhouse be tested. And he was kind
(32:37):
of showing like the lot linesand like this is how much space you
have and kind of showing theticket system that they have, you
know, for you have only haveso many things that you can put on
your property because, justbecause of render issues and such.
But it was really neat to seehow much, how many options you have
(32:57):
to move things around, whereyou want to place things and even
like small features likelighting and how you want a dormer,
a dormer type window to look. And you know you could have just
all kinds of just drop downsfor every little detail of the exterior
(33:21):
of your house as well. Andthen of course it's the same on the
inside, but it just looks likea really good fun system that people
are gonna sink tons of hoursinto at least until they get the
missive that they need to goto Quoth Lost because there's, there's
some stuff going down.
Yeah, dude, housing is. Andyou know we've said it before, we
(33:42):
probably sound like brokenrecords at this point. Here. But
you know, if they've stuckaround for any point in time with
us. But it's gonna be such amonumental thing for this game. It's
just going to be huge. It'sgoing to be huge. It's housing is
such a staple thing, you know, because it's like the one time when
players feel like, I mean, granted we had garrisons and I honestly,
(34:05):
you know, rewind 10 years. Ithink it was over 10 years now back
then. I did enjoy thegarrison. I loved it. It was fun.
I think we were playing on theHorde at the time and I loved it.
I still adore that area tothis day. However, it's not housing.
And whenever you give playersa home they, they actually feel like,
(34:27):
oh, I have a place in thisworld now. Like, look at Eso, dude.
We spent two years therecreating and everyone was all about
their houses. People makingmazes, you know, all the crazy things
they would do.
Yes. And amazing things thatthey, that they were able to build
in in Eso. And the one thingthat I will say, I hope it doesn't
(34:51):
get too crazy with the typesof houses that you're able to buy
because to me in Warcraft Iwant, you know, maybe like small,
medium, large, okay. But Idon't want the large house to be
like a massive manor. It'sjust huge. So big that it doesn't
(35:14):
really fit, you know? You knowwhat I mean? I don't know if that,
if it sounds nuts and there'sprobably people out there like, dude,
shut up. I want the biggesthouse on the biggest lot that I can
get. It feels like my World ofWarcraft house should be in a quaint
place that is, you know, in ornear one of the capital cities where
(35:39):
it's not going to, it's notgoing to be too massive and too gaudy
and it looks like that's whereit is now. But like, you know, in
five, five years who knowswhat the housing system is going
to look like if there's goingto be larger homes and stuff available.
And I just, I just feel likewhat we're getting right now is exactly
what I wanted to see.
(35:59):
It's perfect.
Nothing's too big. It's justbig enough for you to put your personality
in there and you know, add alittle wing on here, a little wing
on there onto your, onto toyour home. But it's not so God awfully
huge that it's not, and I'mnot trying to disparage you so at
all because their housingsystem is really Fun, but it's not
(36:19):
some gigantic elven manor.
I get it. I get it.
You know what I mean?
Yeah, I get it. You know, like, for me, like, I'm the same.
I'm kind of the same way.Like, honestly, I personally feel
it more at home. When we werein New World and you got that starter
home and it had the one room.I almost felt more at home with that
than when I actually was ableto upgrade and get a home that had
(36:41):
multiple rooms. Like, Igenuinely love kind of smaller homes
and MMOs, but I get whatyou're saying. You know, I. I almost
wonder. So playing off that, what if they saved those kinds of
things for the guilds? Theguild housing?
Oh, yeah, That's a differentstory. Guild housing would be incredible,
(37:01):
and it would be a place where, you know, every. Every trophy, or
at least the more difficulttrophies to get that your guild has
succeeded with. Like, thosethings would be displayed and maybe
a war room. You know, justsuper cool stuff. A meeting room.
(37:24):
That would be absolutely amazing.
Oh, yeah.
To see.
Absolutely.
I do have a question for you, though.
Yeah.
With housing specifically, where are you gonna do your house,
and what motif are you gonnago with?
Well, of what's available, which I know humans. One of the ones.
It is available at the start.If. If Kul Tiran was available, thousand
(37:48):
percent Koltiran immediately. No question I'm going there. But
I know it's not available atthe start, so it's gonna be human.
And as far as where it's gonnabe located at, let's see. That's
interesting, because there wasa Reddit post where they 3D modeled
the whole area for theAlliance, Their home area, their
(38:09):
housing, and you have allthese kinds of different zones, really,
within this one area. This bigmap. I had to see it to really give
you that answer. But Idefinitely want something that is
not far away from people.Like, I want to. I really like when
we saw the trailer and you sawthe people walking around the neighborhood.
(38:30):
I want that. I want to be ableto commune with the guild and, you
know, seeing your characterrunning around and just be in the
world, because this is like, you know, like, I've been away from
people already with aGarrison, and now I know I definitely
want to be with everybody.Like, this is such a. It's like a
(38:51):
monumental event. Like, I wantto experience it with everybody.
What about you?
What kind of motif are yougoing. Are you gonna go for, like,
decorations in your house?
Oh. Oh. I thought everythingcultured as much as possible. I love
It a thousand percent. Noquestion. That's my. My, my RP character
is a cold tyran. I loveBoralis. I tell you, dude, that is.
(39:14):
Oh, you know, I love that. That is. Yeah, that is the cream
of the crop to me. And inWorld of Warcraft is Morales and
I go there often just tolisten to music. I tear up. I still
do when I'm there because it'sjust like, my goodness, those feels
are something else and.
Or you are emotional today.
I am. Well, maybe I'm justbeing more transparent. I normally
(39:37):
am, but yeah, dude, likeStormsong Valley, like you go over
there. This is a totallydifferent. I mean you go there and
you listen and it's just.Gosh, man, you know, like the craziness
of real life and then you canfinally slow down and take in the
world and just love it. Oh, itjust sucker punches you in the fields,
but yeah, so cold. Tiernan, Iknow what you're gonna say, but go
ahead, tell everybody what you're.
(39:57):
No, no, that's fine. I mean,if you're gonna pick my brain, then,
you know, why don't you justtell the people what I'm gonna do?
All right, Knife ears, you'regonna go night elf?
I'm actually gonna go Elwyn Forest.
Oh, really?
Yeah, there's. You'redefinitely gonna get the feel because
I play night elf and I love mynight elf. And even though the Harnir
(40:18):
is really cool looking, I'mnot changing. My druid is going to
remain Kaldurai. But as muchas I love Darnassus and all of those
areas where my character grewup basically as a fledgling, I. Yeah,
I think I'm going to be in theElwyn Forest area now. You'll definitely
(40:41):
know that it's a night elveshome. But yeah, I want to do a lot
of nature stuff, so I kind ofwant to be far off the beaten path
a little bit, you know, maybe.Maybe one of those like end lots
or corner lots where you don'thave a neighbor right next to you.
And maybe that's just becauseI live in Southern California and
(41:02):
I'm tired of my neighbors, youknow, from upstairs bedroom being
able to look down into my damn kitchen.
You don't want me to be rightnext to your home looking in.
Don't want that anymore. Idon't want to. I don't want to live
on a cul de sac. I want tolive on a little larger lot away
from the peoples.
Yeah.
And go with the. The naturetheme. I think for me and definitely
(41:26):
want to have an alchemy room. There needs to be a lab in there
for my alchemist. Yeah. Oh,yeah. That's why I'm. That's why
I've been trying to like, makeMax out all the. All the professions,
you know, my alchemy andherbalism professions and other expansions.
Because I want as much stuffas possible to be open to me for
housing.
(41:46):
Yeah.
So. But yeah, man, that's.That's kind of where I really love
the aesthetic of L1. I justthink it's. It's gorgeous.
It really is. And it's. Do youknow, I already said this once on
episode, but the L1 foresttrack is one of the most popular
World of Warcraft tracksthat's played on Spotify of all time.
(42:07):
Oh yeah. The feels.
Yeah, 100%. Yeah. And you knowwhat? I honestly wonder if that's
part of the reason that peoplemay not realize it, but one of the
reasons that they likecreating a brand new tune.
In Elwynn Forest, like, verymuch why I like leveling. Yeah, I
love that.
Yeah.
Big fan.
Yep. Agreed. And do we knowall the motifs, what the motifs are
(42:31):
at launch? I don't off the topof my head, admittedly.
You know what? I kind oflocked in on the L1 forest1, but
let's see if we can figure it out.
Okay, well, while you'relooking at that, I'll keep going
through the rest of this. Soreturning players are going to get
a quest line to guide theminto housing. New players are going
to unlock housing at the endof the tutorial boat experience,
which I can't wait to try thenew tutorial. I want to know what
(42:54):
that is all about. That wasthat. That'll definitely be a part
of Midnight now. Playerswithout Midnight can still visit
neighborhoods and collect thecore, but can't own homes yet. I
will say this. I don't know ifit's because we've seen it done before
in other MMOs, especially likemost recently with us, it was New
World. Like that their. Theirzone was gate. Gated by. Or the mounts.
(43:15):
I'm sorry, the mounts weregated by their new expansion, but
it doesn't really bother me asmuch when I see it here. Like, you
can't own a home if you don'town the expansion. I love the fact
that at least people can getdecor if they want to. Like, that's
great.
Yeah. You can stock up ondecor and then when you're ready,
you can pick up the expansionand away you go. I Think that's pretty
(43:37):
standard.
I feel like it is now games.Yeah, I feel like it is. Do you find
the motifs?
I did.
Oh, what we got.
This is. This is a blue postdirectly from Blizzard. We've seen
a lot of discussionspeculation from the community on
where players will be able tohave houses. We decided early on
that there would be twohousing zones available at launch,
one for alliance and one forHorde, with more possible places
(43:58):
to live in the future. Thealliance zone takes inspiration from
Elwyn Forest with touches ofWestfall and Duskwood. The Hordes
is inspired by Durotar, itscoastline and Azshara. There are
two main reasons for thisdecision and they go into why they
did it mainly. Zones are a lotof work. Yeah, that makes a lot of
sense. So I mean it's a good.It's a really good start. It's an
(44:20):
iconic start for players whoeither love, you know, you love your
alliance or you love yourhorde. It's very iconic where they're
starting this stuff up. Sozero complaints for me.
Yeah, agreed. Admittedly whenyou said motif that you were talking
about like decoration style,so that's why I said Kul Tiran.
But yeah, that's what I meant.
(44:41):
Oh, okay.
Okay.
So yeah, definitely forlocation of house. Based off that,
it's definitely going to be L1Forest, Elwynn Forest or close to
Duskwood maybe. But I just. Ilove that trailer, dude. And you
kind of see a cul de sac ofjust people. Like everyone's homes.
Just like.
Yeah.
Oh yeah. Dude.
Dude, I just got the best idea.
(45:02):
What's that? I'm gonna livenext to each other at bunk beds.
No, no, I'm not doing that.
That. No.
So many activities. No, Idon't want to look into your living
room and see you in theredancing around in your boxers.
Why? Everyone does it.
Why?
I'm out.
No, here's. Here's my idea. Ifthere's touches of Duskwood in the
(45:26):
neighborhood.
Yeah.
I might go for like a darkerforesty house and do like a Halloween
movie motif. Ooh, spooky.
I could see you being on theborder, so that way you get both.
I could see you being on the border.
How fun is it gonna be adecorate your house though, dude?
And you know there's gonna bedecorations for. For Christmas and.
(45:46):
Yeah.
Wreaths and trees and lightsand jack o lanterns for Halloween.
Oh my gosh, dude, I can'twait. I can't wait. And you know
what? That was part of thereason the other day while I was
looking so off air, folks, Iwas thinking a lot about cozy games,
you know, like the quoteunquote cozy style game. So like
Stardru Valley, that storesort of thing where it's really not
(46:09):
combat oriented, but it's likeexperience oriented. Palia is a perfect
example of that as well.Something that's newer and I'm like,
I wonder if you can play Worldof Warcraft like that, you know.
And so of course chat GPT didits thing and of course you could.
No brainer. But I'm just like, how many people I know. I will. How.
How many people, like theirwhole routine of wow is going to
(46:30):
be completely just flippedupside down because of housing's
release.
Yeah. See you later.Progression, right? Yep. I'm being
my flip flops and my freakingboardies, dude. Just on my lawn.
Oh, smoking a cigar.
I love it.
Watching my. Watching my grassgrow, Watching my grass grow.
Watching.
You're gonna be like, hey man,do you want to come heal a plus 10?
(46:55):
Nope. What I want to do istake another sip here of this whiskey.
Just hang out and watch thatflower right there grow.
Oh, I love it so much. Soanyway, housing, of course, player
experience is overhauled. Sothe new players are getting an updated,
smoother, clearer start towow, which is great. Returning player
(47:16):
experience as well as gettingseeing adjustments. The Lore walking
the elves of Quelthol Bolas. You're going to be getting a brand
new lore walking chapter withthat with Lore Walker Cho, where
he's going to take you throughthe history of the Blood Elves and
the Void Elves. And I tellyou, I'm looking forward to that.
I did. I've had many VoidElves. Yeah. To be able to see the
Scourge attack on Silver Moon, this Sunwell's Corruption Alleria
(47:38):
Windrunner's role in the VoidElves creation. Like that's so where
we.
A Windrunner a.
Well, you heard that.
Yeah. That's where you went with.
Do they both not sound liketwo simple peons whenever they. Oh,
we're. We're clicked in. Youguys are doing great. Anyway, Pandarens
are finally getting HeritageHeritage armor in the tour. You know,
(48:00):
last episode when I wasediting that episode and it got to
the part where you couldn't talk.
Yeah.
I couldn't help but to sitthere and laugh. And now here it
is, full circle. So anyway, tour the tour. The. Oh, I am you.
I am you in episode three.Tour the turbulent timeways. Seriously,
(48:24):
say that 10 times fast. A 10week limited event from the Bronze
Dragonflight. So this includessix Shadowlands dungeons this time.
I can't wait for that.Entering the Time Walking rotation
for the first time, it's goingto have brand new rewards, achievements
and collectibles. And thenfinally folks, the Brawlers Guild
is returning. So Brawlgararena, that's an Orgrimmar or Bismo's
(48:49):
Brawl Pub, which is inStormwind. There's gonna be new and
returning bosses, refreshedrotations and new achievements. So
rewards include housing, decor, a recolored flying mount,
and Bruce, AKA the Crocodile, the Crocodile mount from in a new
variant. And that's your news, brought to you by the Goblin News
Network.
You know, admittedly I'venever done the Brawler's Guild. I've
(49:11):
never done that event. Andright before we started the show,
Jibbs said, log in to yourretail character. So I did, and he
said, meet me in Stormwind. And then what happened?
I took you down to the tram, the Deep run tram. The other day
(49:32):
I was in there just again, just like sightseeing. And I realized
there's stairs that went downfurther into the tram, like at the
under where the, the tramsactually run. And lo and behold,
there's the Brawlers Guild. And I've never been able to be a
part of it. I've only everheard about it. Didn't know it was
there. But anyway, we went to Bismos.
Man, that is such a joy ofthis game. Knowing that like for
(49:59):
myself, have played the gamefor over 20 years and there's still
things. And regardless ofwhether or not there's there events
that I've like ignored orjust, you know, didn't do or didn't
take part in, we're stilldiscovering things about this game
to this day. I know, it's somassive. And then you're talking
(50:22):
about playing the game likeStardew Valley or. There's so many
different ways to play this game.
Oh yeah.
And then you discoversomething like that. One of my favorite
things to do, and I think I'vetalked about this before, maybe it
was episode one, or maybe I'mjust dumb and I didn't talk about
it, which is completely anoption with what I'm about to say.
(50:47):
There was a podcast years ago, probably 10 years ago, and it was
called the Road Less Traveled.
Yes.
And they were five minutestories about World of Warcraft and
it. They basically detailedsmall little stories that came out
(51:10):
in quests in Easter eggs thatare in, in the game. You know, maybe
there's some obscure Easteregg that you didn't know what it
was about. And this gentlemanwould have one topic, a show, and
it'd be like, like fiveminutes long, and he would tell you
the story of where this camefrom. And like, one of. One of the
(51:33):
ones he did was a story of. Ofa turtle. And it's out there. And
I just. I would be runningaround in the world and you see this
turtle and it's a strange nameand you think, whatever. But there's
so many things in this gamethat are built off of real life parallels.
A story that really happenedin real life, a player that made
(51:56):
an impact on the communityand, and maybe passed away. And there's
these tributes in the game, pop culture things where there's.
There's, you know, stars inthere. Like, everybody knows Harris
Pilton and then the referencesto Robin Williams that are in the
game. There's just stars. Somuch personality in World of Warcraft.
(52:19):
And I, I tried reaching out tothat guy years ago and he. He was
just done and never ended upgetting back to me. But I would have
loved to have talked to himabout that because it was such a
cool. Such a cool premise forjust a short little, you know, periodic
show where he just do fiveminutes and you would learn something
(52:40):
about the game that you. Youhad no idea about. It was the coolest
freaking thing.
I love stuff like that. Iwouldn't be shocked at some point,
you know, we're known for lorefrom our other show, so I'm wondering
if at some point we don't stepinto that ring. But I mean, like,
to see stuff like that, that's. That's why I love this community.
I do. Because there'ssomething for everybody, not only
in the game, but in thecommunity. So. Yeah, right.
We do love to tell stories.
(53:01):
We do love a good.
Snark online. Oh, it's. I'mnot even gonna say it smells like
(53:22):
Brian.
I'm gonna be honest with you. That smells like pure gasoline.
Not even gonna say rich mah.
Ah.
Smells like a baby diaperfilled with Indian food.
Really potent.
You're leaving that in? Oh,not allowed to take that out. You
(53:49):
know, we really do need anAfter Dark show at some point.
You know, I was. Hey, I wasthinking this. Our first live shows
are late night shows insteadof morning radio. It's late night.
We're doing it live andthey're after dark.
Ooh, can I say the f word?
Don't ask me. You're a grown man.
Well, a lot of times when I'mtrying to get out of something very
(54:10):
poignant. Yeah, I'M sittinghere in the mic just going, it's
a family friendly show so Idon't know, it would be. And actually
it's just kind of letting itout of the bag. We've kind of planned
on having an After Dark showas you know, once.
We we need to.
At some point when we move onover to Twitch.
(54:32):
Yeah.
Or a periodic episode. Yeah,it will probably be an After Dark
show definitely. So we havepersonalities above and beyond just
being good choir boys friends. We really do. So there's that.
I always tell people thisisn't a family friendly show, but
it's a show for people our age.
It is. And you all cuss, we'veheard it.
(54:53):
You know who you are.
Anyway, we have a ticket herethat that came out of Snark and looks
like this week we are coveringadd On Ally Step right Up Adventures.
Today's snake oil istomorrow's must have add on. So we
(55:14):
figured actually Snark figuredsince it's such a hot topic lately,
we're going to have a littlediscussion about World of Warcraft
add ons. But before we dothat, Jibs, cue the music. In Memoriam,
friends. Or some very, very, very beloved add ons that are going
(55:36):
away in the form of weakauras, deadly boss mods and details.
And basically anything thattouches combat API in the back end
of World of Warcraft is going away.
You're gonna die.
You gonna die. It's goingaway. It's happening. Just gonna
(55:59):
have to accept it. So anyway, let's fire this up buddy.
Okay.
What is your opinion? Oh, Isense a hot take. What is your opinion
on the future and the changesthat are being made to add ons in
World of Warcraft?
I love it. I love when an MMOcan stand on its own without the
(56:24):
need of add ons. You know, Ianmade a statement the other day about
the difficulty of Warcraft andI wish I had it off on on hand. I
could read it to you. Butbasically that Warcraft without add
ons may be too hard orsomething that that effect. I'm a
firm believer. Like I'm. I'mmuch more of an of a vanilla person
(56:44):
honestly. I love being able toexperience an MMO and all its difficulties.
Everything of you know, likeeverything that it was meant it was
created to be and not have addons jump in the middle of that. And
so for me personally, I lovethat this is going away. I genuinely
(57:05):
do. I'm excited to see what itdoes for the game, both PvE and PvP
and honestly I, I really amfor it. I really am not really a
hot take. Kind of like amediocre, maybe slightly spicy depending
on, you know, I wasn't reallytoo hot. I could have, I could have
made a little more anger inthere maybe, but you know. All right.
No, I mean, I just don't likeyour opinion. I thought that was
(57:27):
dumb. It was wrong.
Off base answer.
Wrong again. No, I, I can'tlie. It is a. It has always been
a thing for us when we'veplayed games to want features that
should be native to the game,to be native to the game. And we've
(57:48):
been a big fan of that for along time in playing MMOs and we
know that we're not, you know, maybe we're in the minority there.
Maybe there's a lot of peoplethat really think that add ons should
be a community driven thingand you know, adding little things
to the game that enhance yourgameplay should come from the community.
(58:11):
And that's fine. Like it'scompletely fine. We're not looking
to, to go, you know, too farto one side. But I, I just think
that when a, when a game seesthat there's add ons out there that
are affecting combat andaffecting the success of people and
maybe perhaps going away fromthe design intention of the game,
(58:35):
that they need to make somechanges. And I think it's a very
positive thing to see Blizzardgoing in that direction. But the
other question is, is it, isit a little bit too late? Like have
we already established thelines here? And now they're, they're
changing things drasticallyand I'm still kind of up in the air
(58:57):
about it, to be honest withyou, because the removal of things
like weak ores, although wecores is being replaced. They're
working on it. It's gettingbetter. The cooldown manager is getting
better. But things like deadlyboss mods and potentially not being
able to see details. Have youheard anything about them replacing
(59:20):
DPS meters or healing meters?
Oh yeah.
With native things.
Yeah, they're gonna have their own.
Okay, okay. So now thosethings were being completely removed.
That's a major change for agame. And I'll bring up a game like
Ashes of Creation which we, wecovered for a couple of years. Ashes
(59:41):
of Creation is an MMO indevelopment and they have a hard
stance on no DPS meters. Nowgamers being gamers will find a way
to measure dps. Oh yeah, theywill just figure it out offline.
Yep.
So, but the fact that withthese add ons that are being removed
(01:00:05):
from World of Warcraft, they're going to be replaced with
native. I guess you can'treally call them add ons, but native,
native tools in the game thatare going to provide some of the
same things. Okay. If therewas not a replacement for something
like deadly boss mods or gtfo,it is going to change the game drastically
(01:00:33):
or many, many players thatplay. You know, if, if you, if you're
a dungeoneer, if you're araider, it's going to change things
drastically if you're fightinga world boss, if you're fighting
any boss, things like thatwould completely change the game
if there was not some type ofa tool for those things to happen
in the game. Now, whether ornot you use those tools, it is going
(01:00:55):
to be a toggle. You're goingto turn on, you're going to turn
it off. I like what you did, jibs that you dumped deadly boss
mods to. Just see how itfeels, right? Yeah, it's a big. That's
gonna be a big, big change. And I honestly, at this point, you
know, you come to rely onthose tools when you're running.
(01:01:15):
When you're running higherkeys. Yeah, you really do. And it
helps me a ton when I am. Iget a cue that Something's coming
in 3, 2, 1, and I'm right inthe middle. I can prep for it.
Right.
You know, especially with myclass. Like, I can prep for heavy
damage that. That's coming infor the, for my teammates. So I think
this is, it's a veryinteresting time in Warcraft and
(01:01:40):
the, the way that I want toanswer this question of, you know,
what do I think to the changesto the add ons. I want to support
them as much as I possibly canwith these changes and know that
the end result of what they'retrying to do is going to be a positive
gameplay experience foreverybody. I have an open mind about
this whole thing.
(01:02:00):
Let me ask you this, do youfeel like, and there's no wrong answer
here, do you feel like WOW iskind of at a crossroads with all
of this? Like this is. And youcould be dramatic. Oh, this is. Wow's
gonna fail if we do this. Youknow, you can. I can already see
like that on a thumbnailsomewhere. But no, like, that's not
the case. Like, do you feel asthough, like this is like you're
(01:02:25):
getting ready to step forwardinto or choose a street or choose
something like we've neverexperienced before? Like it could
change Warcraft significantly.
I feel like their designdirection is headed in a, it's headed
in a direction of bringing asmany things in house as they can
(01:02:47):
to enhance the playerexperience. Yeah, that's what I feel
like. I feel like they're. Andat the same time like it's almost
like they're double duty rightnow with the things that they're
doing because you're, youknow, you're looking at housing,
you're looking at the changesto add ons, you're looking at the
changes to combat they'remaking and at the same time they're
bringing us new expansions.
(01:03:08):
It's a massive, massiveoverall like addition to the game.
Right. So imagine the, theextra people that they have to have,
they're still going to pumpout good content. Right. From what
we can see with Midnight, itlooks like it's going to be a pretty
kick ass expansion.
Oh yeah.
And at the same time they'remaking all of these, you know, call
(01:03:28):
it QoL quality of lifechanges, basic functions to the game
are changing, combat ischanging. It seems to me like they
have gone back to the drawingboard board on a lot of these things
and they're changing a lot ofthem. Making strides, taking risks
(01:03:50):
in order to enhance thegameplay experience for everybody
as a whole. And you know, quite frankly things that, that they
could have done, maybe shouldhave done years ago before people
got so reliant on some ofthese add ons. But at least they're
doing it. They're taking thesteps forward to do it and kind of
wrangle back control of their, their, of their game. And you know,
(01:04:11):
I, I say this too because it,you know, we're on the heels of them
shutting down a lot of theprivate. Wow. Servers that are out
there too and doing itfiercely. Oh yeah, fiercely like
turtle wow. Like they Blizzardis not effing around when it comes
to some of the stuff and itseems to me like they're taking control
(01:04:33):
of their IP again. And I thinkthat's a very, very good thing for
the future of World of Warcraft.
Smart. I mean look, it's yourip. You didn't give the rights away.
It is what it is, you know, like.
Right.
I don't know what you wereexpecting like it, you know, to come
out of that, you know, likepeople who are running those private
servers but you know, likegoing back to, going back to the
(01:04:56):
add ons, I really look, Ireally look forward to seeing what
the game is like, post allthese changes so post combat changes,
post you know, spec updatesincluded with that. And then of Course,
the add on changes. I reallylook forward to what that, see what
that feels like from a PvEstandpoint. I look forward to seeing
(01:05:16):
what that feels like from acompetitive PvP standpoint. I really
believe PvP should be basedoff skill, not about the UI that
you have on your screen thatyou can see. Oh, I know this is a
spicy topic.
I feel a hot take coming.
Look, I'm gonna tell you thisright now. It should absolutely be
(01:05:37):
based off skill. It should notbe based off having your UI that
essentially looks like it'stwo parentheses bars of the way that's
lined out on your screen. Ishould not know their cooldowns.
I should not know how oftenyou know whether they've just popped
an ability. That I should knowfrom skill to see those things, to
see those visual cues. Ishould know when they're popping
(01:06:00):
those things and when they'vepopped it. If they break out of stealth,
I know roughly there's about30 second window. I don't think you
should have add ons for that.I think it truthfully should be based
off of skill. I do, and Ibelieve that's the first. The purest
form of combat for PvP in MMOsis when it's based off of skill and
not often add on. Like, weshouldn't have that leverage. We
(01:06:21):
shouldn't. It makes it morecompetitive, it makes it more fun.
And I don't mean to draw ahard line. I really don't. I love
everyone, but like, I justfeel like that's, that's a sacred
thing, you know, because likewhen you step up to the plate and
you go one on one withsomebody and you beat them and they
were your class. I'm gonnatalk PvP for a hot second, folks.
Just a second. When it's yourclass and you know you've worked
(01:06:44):
your butt off to learn yourclass, to leverage your class, to
build your build the way youwanted to. Whether maybe it's. Maybe
you chose to put more intohaste, maybe you chose to go for
a high crit build, maybe youwent high mastery. Whatever it is
you have combed through yourspec and then you go 1v1 with somebody
(01:07:04):
and they're your class and youbeat them, that is one of the most,
especially when it's a greatfight, when it's a really good fight,
that is one of the moment. That's one of those moments where
you just, you feel like you'reon top of the mountain man. Like,
it is awesome.
I told you you were a level of five.
I'M not, I'm really not. I'mreally not. Really. I'm really not.
(01:07:28):
You know, back in the day Iused to, I used to do a bunch of
ganking way back when I wasyounger and I was playing this game
but I don't do that stuff. Buthigh competitive.
Why it's so fun.
Oh, dude, I did dirty thingslike way back in the day like it
was Wrath of the Lich King eraand people were over in Burning Crusade.
The Horde were leveling and atthe time I was playing alliance so
(01:07:50):
I would just levitate down asa priest and then just dot them and
kill them instantly big fightswould ensue because of our shenanigans.
Like I was it. I was a jerkoff. I was that guy. I'm sorry. I
was.
Dude, you don't have toapologize for it.
I feel like I need toapologize just to keep. That was
so me. But anyway, long, longtangent short. I'm excited to see
(01:08:15):
the changes. I'm excited tosee how it feels and I look forward
to experiencing it.
Yeah. Yeah. And I know we're,we're pretty positive about it. We
know what's out there. We knowthat there's, there's folks that
are really angry about it andwe, we understand their point too.
Absolutely.
You live with something solong and you get good at playing
(01:08:37):
the game with those tools. It's understandable why people would
be upset about what's goingon. But we, we really do. Jibs and
I, we've done it. We've alwaysdone it. We, we've always tried to
see the positive in a lot ofthese, I don't want to say game breaking.
Very drastic changes thathappen to games during their, you
(01:09:00):
know, continuing developmentcycles. Right. So okay, there's our
opinions on what's going onwith add ons, but before we close
this session, I wanted to talka little bit about what our go to
add ons are like. We're notgoing to go with like our entire
Curse Forge list but just acouple that aren't going anywhere.
(01:09:22):
Don't have any, anythingreally to do with the API or combat
and they are just things thathave that help us to be able to play
the game a little bit moreeffective and are still going to
be available. So you go Jibs first.
Oh, you want me to go first? You want me do both or just one or
like how do you want me to do this?
No, no, do, do both yours andI'll do both of mine.
(01:09:43):
Okay. So these are two add onsI absolutely can't live without once
I've had the first one. I'mgoing to tell you when you don't
have it, it's, it's rough. Andthat add on is called Demodal. So
what it does essentially isit's a UI add on. It disables wow's
modal style panel based likeautomatic window management for a
(01:10:06):
number of default UI windowsand it allows these windows once
you pop it up. So let's saylike your skill window, it allows
it to be moved and you canstack it like it can stack others.
So I can open up my petjournal and I also can have maybe
use the L key and have myquest logs journal up as well. Like
it's nothing invasive at all.It just is kind of like UI 2.0. And
(01:10:32):
a little bit in my opinion, you know, like it's a little bit
more of a modern take on beingable to have more than one window
UI window open and you canmove it around. It's amazing. The
next one, super quick, kind ofa no brainer, you probably won't
be shocked but Better Wardrobeand transmog. Let me tell you something,
you shut your mouth. You haveit too. Let me tell you something
(01:10:54):
brother. It allows you to seeMOG sets from wowhead and incomplete
sets and adds more features tothe Transmogan wardrobe collection
system. So when they are goingto be putting a set in the game,
you see it weeks and sometime, sometimes over a patch ahead of time
within the transmog. So you'llknow something is coming and it is
(01:11:16):
so good if you're a Tran, ifyou're in game as transmog, like
me in a lot of ways, this is,this is the one for you. Better Wardrobe
and transmog. Now I will saythis, when it comes to updates, they're
a little, little slow on theupdates. So like don't be surprised
if your add ons are brokenthis one particularly for a while.
But overall great, great addon. Great if you're into transmog.
(01:11:39):
And those are my twoabsolutely have to have.
I love it. So I got a couple. One of these is I'm sure probably
in most of your add on listand that's handynotes. This just
puts a simple framework toshow you notes on your map. It shows
locations for rare mobs, rewards, treasures, all kinds of
(01:12:03):
different notable locations. And the beauty of this is that it's
available for all expansioncontent. So if you're going to go
through an expansion, ifyou're leveling through an expansion,
you can activate it for thatparticular expansion. If you're not,
then it, you can just be, youknow, very, very simple and not in
your list and activated so youdon't have that add on bloat and
(01:12:25):
you can just, just deactivateit if you're not using that expansion.
But handy notes, amazing. Theyhave tons and tons of different things
that, that is in theirrepertoire. The second one that has
very recently become a bigdeal for me is probably like many
(01:12:46):
of you, you get so much stuffon your screen and I try to keep
it as simply as I can. But forhealing, there's. There's things
that I need to see and thingsthat I need up. So my screen can
get very clogged up and Icould be in the middle of furiously
healing a party and lose mymouse cursor. And it sucks to lose
(01:13:12):
your mouse cursor when youneed it to be on a heal or on my
convoke or on something that Ineed to pop right now. So the one
thing, the one that I pickedup, I was looking for something specifically
for, specifically to make itbigger and I found cursor trail.
Cursor trail is amazingbecause the way it works is it puts
(01:13:35):
like a built in cursor trailwith different animated models to
have glowing trail effects andstuff like that when you move your
mouse.
Yeah.
And there are so manydifferent things to choose from to
customize itself the way thatyou want it. And of course mine is
everything's green because I'ma druid and it's nature Y and Healy.
(01:13:59):
And now I can find my mouse,my mouse cursor anywhere I'm at.
Doesn't matter. I just.Wherever it's at on the screen, you
just barely move it and you'relike, oh, there it is. So particularly
if your eyes are gettingtired. Notice I didn't say old, I
said if your eyes are gettingtired. It's a really good, good one
(01:14:20):
to have. So those are my two.
Dude. So you and I bothupgraded our monitors, you know,
to the newer ones that wehave. And they're the curved monitors.
We both have the same one. There has been times, I kid you not,
I almost downloaded that addon. There are times I. I'm in the
game and I'm not even in anintense situation. I'm just walking
(01:14:44):
around freaking Dornagal and Istop. All the players are doing their
thing and I sit there and I'midle and I'm looking and I'm like,
I don't, I don't know where mycursor is. I can't find it. And I
know it's on this screen. Iknow it's on this screen. Even when
(01:15:04):
I move my mouse, I'm notfinding it. I almost download that
add on because.
Dude, it might seem invasive. When you first look at it, you're
like, oh, well, no way. That'sway too much. You, you get used to
it so quick. And when you dolose it, there's zero question about
where it's at.
I may have to download it.
It's pretty rad.
(01:15:25):
Yeah, that's cool. I'm gladthat there's utility, stuff like
that. You know, that's likeutilities. That's a whole nother
episode. And we're about donehere. But I mean, yeah, we'll talk
