Speaker 1 (00:00):
Good morning, Welcome into Wednesday show. Can we all agree
that a short work week is the best work week?
I mean, just think about it. We're already halfway through
the work week and it's awesome. Right. It's one O
five Nither Ride, Nashville's classic rock. It's Battle in the morning.
Welcome into the show. We got a lot of things
to get into on the show, a lot of things
to give away on the show. Coming up later in
(00:22):
this hour six point forty, we'll play one stupid question
for Louder Than Life Music Festival. Tickets will get you
up there to Louisville. It's gonna be a hell of
a show, hell of a festival. We'll get you into it.
All I have to do is my answer, my one
stupid question, and if you get right, well going to
Louder Than Live Festival. Let's take a look at what's
trending this morning. As I look at all the headlines,
(00:43):
A lot of shootings are in the headlines. Man shot
during fight niece Nashville officials say, that's one of the headlines.
MNPD woman accused in Napier arear deadly shooting. That's another one.
Tennessee appealing lawsuit that overturned gun laws. There's another one
and uh something that doesn't have to do with a
(01:03):
shooting Lebanon neon sign ban is dead. Yeah, those are
a look at what's trending of this morning. Very interesting things, right,
Welcome into Wednesday show. We're so glad that you're here.
Speaker 2 (01:18):
Fell in the.
Speaker 3 (01:19):
Morning and Nashell Classic Rock rock It's one O five
nine in.
Speaker 1 (01:24):
The right Nashville's Classic Rockets Battle in the Morning. Now,
it doesn't matter how old or how smart you are,
anyone can fall for a scam. Just maybe not this scam. Okay.
A woman in Japan who is in her eighties just
fell for one of the sillier romance scams that I
have seen on the internet. Apparently, back in July, she
(01:45):
started talking to a guy on social media who claimed
he was an astronaut. So maybe a little red flag there, right,
But she kept talking to him, and of course she
developed feelings and well then he finally dropped the hammer
one day and claimed that he was in trouble and
he needed some money. Here's the story that he told her.
He said that he was in space on a spaceship
(02:06):
and was under attack on his ship and needed oxygen.
Come on, really, but she believed it, and he asked
if she'd flowed him enough cash to buy more O two.
She agreed. She sent him a million in and if
you convert that to American dollars, that's around sixty seven
hundred bucks. Officials in Japan shared the story and said
(02:28):
to be suspicious if someone you met online ever asked
for money, especially if they're texting from outer space. Come on,
why would she? Again? This is why certain people do
not need to be on the internet for sure. Six
seven three seven one oh five nine is the number
you want to jump in. Let's get you on the
(02:48):
phone to play one stupid question. Louder Than Live Music
festival tickets up for grabs.
Speaker 4 (02:54):
If you could be the first person through and answer
my one stupid question this morning, we'll play next.
Speaker 1 (03:07):
All right, let's get into it. One stupid question. Seems
like everybody's trying to get their hands on these Louder
Than Life Music festival tickets. Six one five, seven three seven,
one oh five nine is the number if you want
to play one stupid question. Let's go to the phones
and see you who we got. It's one O five nine, Rockey,
who's this, Brandon, what's going on?
Speaker 5 (03:28):
Brother?
Speaker 1 (03:28):
How are you this morning?
Speaker 5 (03:31):
You know?
Speaker 1 (03:32):
Not too bad? Not too bad? I mean, I can't complain,
but if I did, nobody'd listen anyways. But are you
ready to play one stupid question? Brandon?
Speaker 3 (03:39):
Yeah?
Speaker 1 (03:40):
All right, here we go. I'm gonna ask you one
stupid question. You get it right, You're going to Louder
Than Life Music Festival. You get it wrong, somebody's gonna
be able to steal these tickets away, fring your Brandon,
Are you ready for your one stupid question?
Speaker 3 (03:50):
Yeah, let's go for it.
Speaker 1 (03:51):
Here we go, Brandon. How many years make up a decade?
And is ten your final answer? Brandon?
Speaker 5 (04:03):
Yeah?
Speaker 1 (04:03):
Third, I gotta say, Brandon, hopefully, hopefully you're ready for
this because you're going aloud to the live music festival,
my friend. That's what I like to hear. And tell
us what station's hooking you up? Man? Rock Another chance
to win Louder Than Live Music Festival tickets. We'll have
those for you again tomorrow when we play one stupid
question again. At this time, Brandon, I'm gonna put you
(04:24):
out a brief fold. We're gonna come back to you
and grab your information. Will you asking you one stupid question.
Speaker 3 (04:30):
Answer again, price be a part of Battle in the Morning.
Speaker 1 (04:35):
Call six. Well, good news is the way. It is
almost over. The twenty twenty five NFL season kicks off
tomorrow night. And if you like to do a little gambling, well, uh,
I've got some odds for you if you wanting to
put some money down right now. It's one O five
nine in the right Nashville's Classic Rock. It's Battle in
(04:57):
the Morning. According to DraftKings, the odds on favorite right
now to be the Super Bowl champion, They've got the
Bills and the Ravens at plus six hundred, Philadelphia at
plus seven hundred, Kansas City at plus eight fifty, and
the Packers plus twelve hundred. So yeah, Vegas thinks that
(05:17):
the Bills or the Ravens will be the Super Bowl champion.
And they said that the MVP could be Lamar Jackson
or Joe Burrow at plus five fifty. So if you
want to put some money down, there's your Vegas odds
on who will win the Super Bowl and who will
be the MVP. I'm just excited that football is back
and I'm ready to see what good old cam Ward's
(05:38):
gonna do. We'll see how that plays out. A lot
of people say that they're gonna go like seven to ten,
I believe is what a lot of the media, the pros.
I guess if you want to call them that, Hey,
you know what, if we get above five wins, I'm
totally okay with that because it's better than last year.
If you ever want to be a part of the show,
(05:59):
you can call it. Six one five seven three seven,
one oh five nine is the number. That is the
phone line. It is wide open right now. What do
you want to talk about this morning? It could be anything. Well,
we'll hand the show over to you and then, you know,
we'll see what happens. Right this is either going to
be a good thing or a bad thing. We'll find
(06:21):
out what people want to talk about after heart. If
you want to be a part of the show, the
number six one five seven three seven, one oh five nine.
That is the phone line to get into me here
in the studio. I asked you the question, what do
you want to talk about? Because we always talk about
things that are going on in my life, and I'd
love to hear what's going on in your life. Kristin
and Mount Juliet called in and was telling me a
(06:44):
story about her kids school bus driver and wants to
know if she's a jerk or not for what she did.
So Kris didn't tell me what happened with the kids'
school bus driver.
Speaker 6 (06:53):
So last year, the bus driver was super late all
the time with the kids, and a few of the
parents agreed with me and they were like, yeah, this
is ridiculous. You know, we have a schedule, and you
know if you're late, my kid's late, right.
Speaker 1 (07:10):
And I see where you're coming from with that, because
especially now with school back in session, you got all
the extracurriculum activities, you got sports, you got practice, you
got tutor and you got all these things. So if
your kid rides the bus home and they're super late,
then that kind of pushes everything back and then you're
like eating dinner at eight o'clock and getting the kids
in bed finally by ten o'clock. But what happened, Kristin.
(07:30):
Did you say something to the bus driver or what
did you do?
Speaker 6 (07:33):
So I decided this year I confronted the bus driver
oh and said, look, you need to do better, you
need to get your act together. My husband thinks I
was being a total Karen and a couple of the
parents think, oh, that was too far. You shouldn't have
even said anything.
Speaker 1 (07:49):
I think maybe that was a little too far. If
you told the bus driver, Hey, you need to get
your act together. You're super late all the time. I
would have just been like, hey, uh, you know you've
been a little late numerous times. Is there anything going on?
Is there anything we can do to help out? But
the fact that you told the bus driver, hey, get
(08:11):
your crap together, dude, you're being late all the time,
I think that was a little too far in my opinion.
But we'll see what people think if you're a jerk
or not. Let's let's open the phone lines up for discussion.
Six one five seven three seven one oh five nine
is the number if you want to jump in on
the show tonight. Is Kristin a jerk for confronting the
(08:32):
bus driver and telling them to get their crap together
because they're always late? We'll take your phone calls. Next
part of.
Speaker 3 (08:39):
Battle in the Morning called six seven three.
Speaker 1 (08:42):
Seven seven three seven one five nine is the number
if you want to jump in on the show. This morning.
Kristen called in and was wanting to know if she
was being a carin or not because she confronted her
kids school bus driver for constantly being late. If you
want to jump in, phone lines are open six one, five, seven,
(09:03):
three seven, one oh five nine is the number. Let's
go to line uh line number one twent oh five
nine in the Rock high Who's this, hey.
Speaker 7 (09:11):
Bat, It's Amanda. How are you?
Speaker 1 (09:13):
I am doing good? Amanda? How are you doing? I
am good. I'm on my way to work.
Speaker 7 (09:18):
And I've heard about the Mountain City bus conversations. Uh huh,
So I'll live in Smith County and we have several
buses that run late, but it's because they're doing multiple
routes because they don't have enough bus drivers to go around.
Speaker 1 (09:36):
Right now, I don't.
Speaker 7 (09:37):
Really want to say that she overs steps because I'm
a mom too and I have one that I have
to put on the bus. I mean maybe she could
have been maybe a little bit softer.
Speaker 1 (09:49):
Yeah, no, I publy understand. And like again, like you said,
these bus drivers are doing multiple routes and they can't
control what happens on the road. They can only can
control what is going going on, and.
Speaker 7 (10:02):
Maybe theirs he's running multiple rout has anybody check to
see if heep doing multiple out instead of just complaining.
But that's just my my question.
Speaker 1 (10:14):
And my opinion, right, I got you, man. I appreciate
you calling in this morning.
Speaker 7 (10:19):
Yes, that love your shout.
Speaker 1 (10:20):
Oh well, thanks for that. Aman, appreciate you listening. If
you want to jump in on the conversation six one five,
seven three seven one five nine, as the number will
take more of your phone calls. Next five nine the rock. Hi.
Who's this?
Speaker 8 (10:33):
Hi? This is Deborah.
Speaker 1 (10:34):
Hey, Deborah, what's going on this morning?
Speaker 8 (10:36):
I called away in on your opinion question about the
bus driver. All right, hit me with it, okay, for
two reasons. I think she was spot on m number one.
If I didn't have my kids out when the bus
came by, the best driver left. The kids don't have
the option of leaving. If the bus drivers like m
(10:58):
you know, I mean, it's calm courtesy. The bus driver
wants them out there and ready when he gets there.
You know he should be there at the time he
says he will exactly. Also, inclement weather, you know, kids.
Speaker 9 (11:13):
Hack your weight out in the rain, you know, the snow,
not when it's a lot of snow grainted around here.
But you know, it's just it's it's not healthy for
them to be out any longer than necessary on the
days when the weather is bad and when they don't
know whether bus driver's going to be there in five minutes.
Speaker 6 (11:32):
Or twenty you know, yeah, I just it's.
Speaker 8 (11:36):
Not very good parenting. I don't think it's not.
Speaker 1 (11:38):
Pu No, I understand. I appreciate you calling in this morning, Deborah.
Speaker 3 (11:42):
Oh, thank you.
Speaker 8 (11:43):
I appreciate you your my feeing.
Speaker 1 (11:46):
Of course, and we want to hear more opinions from
you right now. Pick up that phone call at six
one five seven, three seven, one five nine is the
number of you want to jump in? The question is
is Kristin a Karen or not for confronting her in
school bus driver for being late constantly? One five in
the Rock High? Who's this?
Speaker 7 (12:05):
It's Nicole?
Speaker 1 (12:06):
What's up to call? How are you this morning? Oh? Good? Now?
Are you man? I can't complain it. If I didn't,
nobody's listen, so it wouldn't matter, you know.
Speaker 2 (12:14):
That's that's a very valid point. What's I was calling
about the chick cook confronted the bus driver?
Speaker 8 (12:21):
Uh huh.
Speaker 2 (12:21):
I do not think she is the Karen. Yeah, I
think that she was completely and understandably upset, and I
would do the same thing. I mean, the bus drippers
know the kids have to get their own time. It's
a job, just like everything else, like if you're if
you're late to the morning show, your bosses are gonna
get mad at you and then you're gonna get reprimanded.
(12:45):
She just went to the person as like a coworker,
for instance, instead of going to the balls and calling
the school board on them. So like, I think she
did all right, and I think the bus driver needs
to get their craft together so.
Speaker 1 (12:59):
That they don't have I completely understand what you're saying there, Nicole.
I appreciate you calling in this morning.
Speaker 2 (13:06):
Absolutely.
Speaker 7 (13:07):
I hope you have a great.
Speaker 1 (13:08):
Date you too, Nicole. We'll talk to you soon, okay.
I feel like Nicole is probably the only one that
has stood on the side of Kristen saying that she
was in the right for calling out the kids school
bus driver. Six seven, three, seven, one oh five nine
is the number if you want to jump in and
give your thoughts an opinion on this. Uh, don't forget
