of the stars of the classic sitcom WKRP in Cincinnati,
passed away following acute prolonged illness. She would have been
eighty years old tomorrow. Of course, as you know, Lori
played receptionist Jennifer Marlow for the show's entire four season run.
The character was originally written as a tipboll blonde, but

(02:07):
Lonnie wasn't interested in that. She made them rework the
characters so that she was portrayed as quote the smartest
person in the room, and before landing on WKRP, she
also auditioned to play Chrissy Snow on Three's Company. Obviously
she lost that part of Suzanne Summers, but yeah, Lonnie
Anderson passing away at the age of eighty. She was

(02:28):
also well known for her marriage to Burt Reynolds, which
ended in an interesting divorce as well. Hey, you'r chance

Speaker 4 (04:51):
Rock righte.

Speaker 2 (04:55):
Nashville's Classic Rock, It's Battle in the Morning coming up.

Speaker 1 (04:57):
I want to talk about this.

Speaker 2 (05:00):
For the weekend, me and the family, we went to
go to Bristol, right, big Braves fans here. We went
to the Speedway Classic, and well, some things happened that
we definitely should talk about.

Speaker 1 (05:15):
We'll talk about that next one O five on the right.

Speaker 2 (05:20):
Nashville's Classic Rock, It's Battle and the Morning.

Speaker 1 (05:24):
Welcome into Monday show.

Speaker 2 (05:25):
So over the weekend, the family and I went to
the Speedway Classic, and I gotta say classic is the
right word.

Speaker 1 (05:30):
Classic disaster.

Speaker 2 (05:32):
Now, when they first announced that the Braves and the
Red tri gonna play at Bristol is a cool thing.
We bought tickets as they went on sale, so we
spent like over eight hundred dollars on tickets, right, so
we made sure we had the good seeds. We were
under the awning. Everything was great. So we show up
early on Saturday, all excited because we're gonna protict in
the fan zone and have some fun. And I was like, hey,
I gotta grab some gear. I gotta get one of

(05:53):
those hats because they're really cool. So I was like,
I'm gonna stand in line for merch, right, no big deal.
And hour goes by before I finally make it to
the front and guess what, everything good is sold out.
There was like two merch stands outside, a couple more inside,
and all of them looked like a yard still after
a hurricane.

Speaker 1 (06:11):
And then we get inside after.

Speaker 2 (06:13):
We're you know, mad about standing in line for merch,
and Liam's like, I'm hungry, like he always does. So
I waited in the concessus stand line for chicken tenders,
nachos and a hot talk. Forty five minutes later, I
get the chicken tenders that were undercooked, nachos that were
so stell. I think that they were probably from the
last race there. So I was like, okay, fine, you
know what, whatever.

Speaker 1 (06:32):
We're still gonna be here for this really cool moment.
Let's go.

Speaker 2 (06:36):
We get to our seats just in time for the
Tim mcgrawl concert. Awesome, right, except the sound system sucked.
I thought Tim was singing from inside of a shipping
container and I couldn't tell what song is playing, so
I just gave up. And then right when we thought
it couldn't get worse, it rained and rained and rain.
We set there for hours in a rain delay, holding

(06:57):
out ohpe like suckers, and eventually they come on. They're like,
we're gonna play ball. People start cheering, the tart comes off,
they get the field prepared, we get one inning maybe, and.

Speaker 1 (07:08):
Then I look at Tiffany.

Speaker 2 (07:09):
I was like, hey, let's just go, Like I have
a feeling this game ain't gonna happen, and eighty five
thousand people in here trying to leave at the same
time ain't gonna work. So we leave right. We get
to the car, we get out, turn on the radio
and it's like, oh, the Braves said that they're gonna
postpone the game until tomorrow, and I was like, great
tomorrow when nobody is gonna be there, and everybody leaves tomorrow.

Speaker 1 (07:31):
And here's the thing that really makes me mad about
that situation.

Speaker 2 (07:34):
And I know you can't control the weather, like I
get that, But MLB, no refund, no voucher, no, hey,
here's a here's a ticket for a uh, you know,
a game of your choosing for the Braves of the Reds.

Speaker 1 (07:49):
Nothing.

Speaker 2 (07:49):
They played the game the next day. The Braves ended
up winning, all happy dory.

Speaker 1 (07:54):
But I think the thing that.

Speaker 2 (07:55):
Really makes me mad is the fact that we spend
all that money on this and then we didn't get
to see the baseball game, and I was frustrated about that.
But I'm curious from you, and I'd love to get
your thoughts on this. Have you ever spent way too
much money for an event that totally flopped? Six one
five seventh three seven one oh five nine is the number.
I want to hear your disaster story again. Six one
five seventh three seven one oh five nine is the

(08:16):

What's up, Scott? You got a you got a disaster
story you want to share?

Speaker 6 (08:56):
I absolutely do. Man, that's so excited to hear that
about that Braves game. My disaster story actually goes back
to discussion that you were having last week when sadly
Ozzie passed the nineteen seventy eight concert with Ozzy and
Black Sabbath here in Nashville. I too was at that

(09:18):
concert and the disaster of the whole thing, and I
heard several people calling in about it, but nobody really
touched on the fact that go to the rescheduled show,
thinking it was just going to.

Speaker 7 (09:32):
Be Black Sabbath, Van Halen came out, opened up again again,
blew the roof off. The disaster happened when Black Sabbath
took the stage. They literally walked out on the stage,
stood there, played their music and walked off, no show, nothing,
just them standing on stage playing their songs.

Speaker 1 (09:54):
Man, that sucks.

Speaker 2 (09:56):
But hey, Lids, you got to see van Halen twice,
so there's a plus side.

Speaker 6 (09:59):
Oh absolutely, Man, it's a huge van Halen's after that.

Speaker 2 (10:04):
Hey, Scott, I appreciate you calling in this morning being
part of the show.

surrounding counties. It's one oh five nine the right Nashurals
Classic Rockets battle in the morning. I know, Davidson they
start back tomorrow, Uh, Sumner County, and I believe Williamson

Speaker 2 (10:40):
And it's great because I know as a parent, I'm like, yes,
the kids are out of the house, they're back in school.

Speaker 1 (10:45):
But also as a parent, I'm.

Speaker 2 (10:45):
Like, oh crap, I got to relearn third grade math again.

Speaker 6 (10:50):
Uh.

Speaker 1 (10:51):

Speaker 2 (10:52):

filled with all kinds of back to school photos, which
I know you're looking forward to that. Again, I'm not
hating on that at all because I have back to
school photos posted on my timeline as well, because I've
got a senior in high school that started today. And

goes to a year round school. But man, back to
