to Steve McNair, right, because I mean that one hurt
like deep down, he was my favorite football player growing up.

I had the jersey I had the poster.

I had everything, Like dude was a warrior, played through pain,
led with heart and just had that kind of grit
that you don't see every day, right. And I remember
exactly where I was when I found out, and I
was sitting there like everybody else and it comes across
the screen. I'm like, what is happening right now? And man,
I just sat there stunned, like like what happened? Steve

five days at the time. Drugs and alcohol just about
killed him both. Yeah, And I saw him a month
before he died in a place called pineob in Clarkston, Michigan,

and he played with Joe Cocker that night, and he
gave Joe Cocker the lead. Stevie played warm up for
Joe Cocker, and Joe was old, you know, and he
let him play out front, and Stevie came out and
played about half a dozen songs behind Joe Cocker that night.
He was three and a half years sober. His life
was in order, man. I mean, he was working hard,
he was making money, he had a good woman in

his life. He was making fine, fine music. And helicopter
crash up there a month after I saw him, and
I was devastated. I really was. The guy was unbelievable
to watch on stage. I mean, I think Jackson Brown
put it best one time. If musical notes were rain drops.

studied on him quite a bit. I saw him first time.
It was in December of eighty six, and he and
Tommy Shannon had only been sober like sixty or seventy
five days at the time. Drugs and alcohol just about
killed him both. Yeah, And I saw him a month
before he died in a place called pineob in Clarkston, Michigan,

and he played with Joe Cocker that night, and he
gave Joe Cocker the lead. Stevie played warm up for
Joe Cocker, and Joe was old, you know, and he
let him play out front, and Stevie came out and
played about half a dozen songs behind Joe Cocker that night.
He was three and a half years sober. His life
was in order, man. I mean, he was working hard,
he was making money, he had a good woman in

his life. He was making fine, fine music. And helicopter
crash up there a month after I saw him, and
I was devastated. I really was. The guy was unbelievable
to watch on stage. I mean, I think Jackson Brown
put it best one time. If musical notes were rain drops.
