A Destination Brewery in Pennsylvania, Rusty Rail Brewing Company

This episode takes us to Rusty Rail Brewing Company, an amazing destination brewery in central Pennsylvania. What's a destination brewery? It's a place you travel to, often the main attraction in a quiet area. Rusty Rail perfectly fits this bill.

I love that it's a repurposed building that once made Model T vehicles. The brickwork is stunning, and stepping inside, you're greeted by exposed brick, huge wooden beams, and an enormous train mural – so much character! They have indoor and covered outdoor seating, plus a large wrap-around bar with over 10 taps of their in-house craft beer.

Now, the beer. Their signature Fools Gold Hefeweizen (8.0% ABV) is a standout. It's a hazy gold, unfiltered brew with peanut butter flavoring. Unique, smooth, and easy to drink despite its strength – a must-try for any beer enthusiast! I rate it 4.5 out of 5. For newcomers, the Blue Collar Blonde Ale or Single Jack Lager are great, approachable options. For IPA lovers, they rotate at least three, like FOG MONSTER Hazy IPA (6.8% ABV) and ALL GOOD Hazy IPA (5.2% ABV). While I'm not an IPA person, I always give them a try.

Beyond the brews, Rusty Rail serves excellent chef-inspired food – not typical pub fare. Think steak, soups, and fish dishes. You can easily bring non-beer drinkers here. Plus, upstairs they have an event room with pool tables and extra seating. They host brunch and even weddings!

Overall, Rusty Rail has everything: great beer variety and specialization, friendly customer service, an inviting brewery atmosphere, fantastic food and onsite amenities, and fun entertainment. I give this all-encompassing destination brewery an impressive 4.7 out of 5. A must-visit for any craft beer fan!
