(00:46):
must try activities, romantic dining, and even a few secret
spots perfect for just the two of you. If you're
dreaming of sunsets, sandy strolls, ocean adventures, and memories that
will last a lifetime, you're in the right place. Pack
your bags, grab your partner. Let's discover the best East
Coast Beaches for couples together. So today I want to

(01:09):
talk a little bit about the Isle of Palms, And
that's something I know about because I do live in Charleston,
and I love Sullivan's Island and al of Palms, both
very cool spots and very romantic for couples. So I
think it's something that we definitely need to look at.
It's on the list, and it needs to be on
your list because it really does just make things great.

(01:30):
It seems in a better mood, right Suddenly some of
you let go of some of your anxiety. You have energy,
you want you stop the hibernation. You want to go
out and start talking to people and get excited, and
everybody's in a better mood, and there suddenly seems to
be so much more to do, you know. And it's
just been like a couple of days. So spring Fever's

(01:50):
a real thing, and it definitely ends the winter doldrums.
Just having a couple of days like what we've had
here just makes me ready. I'm ready to hit the beach,
I'm ready to hit the pool. I'm ready to just
do all the great things that you can do in
the spring, summer, and even in the fall in the
Charleston area. So Number one, I am so thrilled that

(02:12):
you were tuning in with me. We talked about my
favorite island in the whole world where we lived for
ten years, and that was Sullivan's Island. And we had
a great talk about Sullivan's Island, and I realized that
some of the things that we had pulled up doing
research were incorrect, so I tried to correct those. So

(02:33):
it's amazing what you know. You try to you try
to do some research and things so you can get
a little bit more in detail about a place that
you know so well, and you find out that some
of the research just is off. Like taking a ferry
to Sullivan's Island that didn't get happen. I mean maybe
way way way way back in the day that was possibility.

(02:54):
Now there's a bridge, there's two bridges. You don't have
to take a ferry, right, I mean, if you want
to take your boat, you can certainly do that, but
there's no ferry it's going to take you from Mount
Pleasant to Sullivan's Island. But so today we're talking about
kind of like the sister island to Sullivan's and that
would be Ala Palms. So it's it's different. The whole

(03:17):
vibe is a little bit different. Even though it's like
the bridge to Sullivan's from Sullivan's Island over Breach Inlet
to Olive Palms is probably a hundred feet two hundred
feet long. It's just different, and they're both awesome in
their own ways. So it is just a short bridge
across the inter Coastal Waterway or Breach Inlet that separates

(03:40):
Sullivan's Island from it's equally captivating neighbor, which is al
of Palms. While sharing the same low country charm, Ola
Palms offers a distinct personality, a more expansive and arguably
wilder beach experience, and that's kind of true. The drive
itself is the prelude to the island's beauty, with glimpses

(04:03):
of the sparkling Atlantic Ocean teasing you on your arrival. Parking,
while plentiful offering, requires a short walk to the beach
access points, a pleasant stroll that allows you to fully
appreciate the surrounding environment. Unlike Sullivan's Island, which possesses a
more concentrated village feel, on the Palms unfolds more gradually,

(04:25):
it's residential areas interspersed with stretches of pristine beachfront. This
gives the island a feeling of spaciousness, a sense of
escape that is truly liberating. The beaches of Isle of
Palms are legendary miles of unbroken sand stretch as far
as the eye can see, their fine texture, soft beneath

(04:47):
the bare feet. It's beautiful beach and it's pretty white
sand for South Carolina. It's just amazing. The ways, while
generally gentler than those on Sullivan's, And you know what,
I actually would go the other way around there. I
would say that Sullivan's, because of the jetties at the harbor,

(05:07):
has fewer waves and smaller waves than Al of Palms.
It wasn't always that way, but it is that way now.
They still offer a delightful rhythm for swimming body surfing,
and you can deal with a good bit of surfing
out on al of Palms. The wide expanse of beach
provides ample space for sunbathing, building elaborate sand castles, playing

(05:27):
beach volleyballer, simply losing yourself in the meditative rhythm of
the ocean's ebb and flow. Families flock to al of Palms,
drawn by the wide open spaces and the relative calmness
of the waters, making it an ideal location for children
to safely splash and play. Even seasoned beachgoers find themselves
captivated by the sheer scale and beauty of the island's coastline,

(05:51):
often spending hours simply watching the ceaseless play of waves
and sunlight. Beyond the sun and sand, all the palms
and we say iop if your local offers a surprising
variety of activities. For those seeking a more active experience,
the waters are ideal for kayaking, paddle boarding, the jet skiing.

(06:13):
Several rental companies operate on the island, providing equipment and
guidance for those venturing out into the waves for the
first time. The calm, sheltered waters near the Inner Coastal
Waterway are particularly well suited for beginners, offering a safe
and tranquil setting to learn the basics. More experienced paddlers
can explore the intricate network of creeks and inlets that

(06:36):
lace the surrounding marshlands, discovering hidden coves and observing the
abundant wildlife. Fishing is another popular pastime, with both peer
fishing and charter boats catering to anglers of all eight
of all levels. The water's team with a variety of
fish including redfish, speckled trout, and flounder, providing an exciting

(06:57):
challenge for even the most experienced fishermen. Island Boats a
well developed infrastructure that enhances the overall beach experience. Well
maintained beach access points, complete with parking areas and restrooms
ensure visitor comfort. Lifeguards are on duty during the peak season,
providing the extra layer of safety and peace of mind.

(07:19):
The presence of these services is a significant factor in
the island's family friendly appeal. Parents can relax knowing that
their children are under a watchful eye. Concessions are conveniently
located near several beach accesses, offering refreshing drink, snacks, and
beach essentials. The services contribute to the overall convenience and

(07:41):
enjoyment of a day spent soaking up the sun and
sea breeze. The culinary scene on Ali Palm's is equally enticing,
while not possessing the same historical depth at the Charleston
Peninsula's restaurant district, The island offers a diverse range of
dining options, catering to all tastes and budgets. From casual
beachfront eateries offering fresh seafood and refreshing cocktails, to more

(08:06):
upscale restaurants with panoramic ocean views, the island provides a
wealth of gastronomical experiences. Many restaurants features outdoor seating, allowing
diners to enjoy their meal while while taking in the
spectacular sunset over the Atlantic. These restaurants showcase fresh, locally
sourced ingredients, often highlighting the Low Country's rich culinary heritage.

(08:31):
The seafood is particular. It's a particular highlight, featuring dishes
prepared with the day's catch. These culinary experience experiences are
integral part of the Isle of Palms experience, enhancing the
overall sense of relaxation and enjoyment. You need to go
to Code Depeche, Code of Depeche, that is Italian seafood.

(08:52):
It's got the best, it's got the best food, be
honest with you on iop and it has great views
overlooking the beach and the amazing great little bar scene too.
That's where the locals go, so you know, that's where
you need to go. Beyond the immediate beach area, the
island offers a variety of attractions and amenities. The al
of Palms County Park provides a scenic spot for leisurely walks, picnics,

(09:16):
and bird watching. The park's expansive grounds offer a welcome
contrast to the bustling beachfront, providing a tranquil setting for
a quieter escape. The park features a playground, making it
an ideal destination for families with young children. The park's
network of trails winds through diverse habitats, allowing visitors to

(09:36):
explore the islands of natural beauty at their own pace.
Several public art installations enhance the island's aesthetic appeal, providing
unexpected moments of beauty along the way. The overall atmosphere
of the park is one of serene, tranquility and encouraging
visitors to take a break from the sun and sand

(09:56):
and reconnect with nature. The accessibility of iop is another
contributing factor to its widespread appeal. While driving is the
most common mode of transportation, the island is also accessible
by bicycle, offering a unique way to explore scenic byways.
The island's relatively flat terrain makes cycling the pleasant and

(10:20):
effortless activity, offering beautiful views of the coastline and surrounding marsh.
Numerous bike paths wine through residential areas along the beachfront,
allowing cyclists to choose their own route and explore at
their own pace. The island's calm and traffic free streets
makes cycling a safe and enjoyable experience for all ages

(10:41):
and abilities. Accommodation the Ali Palms are equally diverse. From

that kind of sum that up. I can add a
lot more to it, and I think I will next

hitting up some of those little beach bars too, So
