In this episode, the fate of Terry McLaurin with the Washington Commanders is up for discussion. Despite reporting to the team, McLaurin has made it clear he will not play under his current contract. The conversation covers potential teams that might make sense for a trade, including Green Bay, San Francisco, the Chargers, and the Patriots. (00:00):
The fate of Terry McLaurin hangsin the air.

(00:03):
He has reported, but he is notgoing to sign a contract anytime
soon, and he has made it clearto everyone he is not going to
play under his current deal.
So James, that immediately getseveryone asking.
If Terry McLaurin does in factget moved from Washington, what

(00:24):
are some teams that make sense?
Dude, I'm really shocked, man, that the commanders have not
pulled this trigger yet.
This deal was signed in 22, andhe's outperformed it in my
opinion Now, I joke, he's thefourth best receiver in the NFC
East, maybe the fifth, dependingon what Malik Neighbor does, but
I might put Malik neighbors overhim right now.

(00:45):
Oh, there we go.
Honest, I might do that, butit's more about Malik Nabors
than Terry McLaurin, butcontinue.
But you know, in general, likeTerry's performed, he's done
five years consecutive, athousand yard seasons.
So who would I like to sign?
Terry McLaurin, if I'm goingNFC, you know, if someone's
trying to trade for him and Ijust don't know if the
commanders would do this, but ifI'm looking at NFC, man, I'm

(01:07):
looking at Green Bay to, maybeget a trade for Terry McLaurin,
get'em paired up with MattGolden.
You know, maybe see if somehowthis would be a weird one, if he
can get to.
San Francisco just because ofwhat's going on with Jaw
Jennings.
You know, you still gotrecovering ACL tear from Brandon

(01:27):
iu.
So I can see that.
And Ricky Pearsall continues tojust be injured and be a
disappointing draft pick so farthrough two seasons for the
Niners as well.
That one makes a lot of sense.
Yeah, and so then those would bemy two.
If I had to pick a number threeteam, this is only because
everyone likes to add ammunitionwith any ammunition.
Detroit or Chicago, just becauseof their play callers.

(01:50):
I'll go there, but a FC side,I'll make it real quick.
You know, everyone wants to sayChiefs and Ravens.
Cool.
If this, this would be the teamthat needs to do it.
It'd be the Chargers.
I love that you said that.
I was thinking that as well.
Yeah, Mike Williams justretired.
Lad McConkey was great.
They drafted Trey Harris.
There were some contract issuesthere, but they got those taken

(02:12):
care of.
But you added Terry Mc Warren tothat mix.
I we're cooking with JustinHerbert there.
O Omarion Hampton, they draftedin the first round.
Oh no.
Oh no.
That would be a team that couldlegitimately challenge the
chiefs in the A FC West.
If you add Terry McLaurin tothat offense, led by Justin
Herbert, head coach, JimHarbaugh, definitely no more
excuses for Justin Herbert atthat point.

(02:33):
No more.
No more.
But hey man don't forget aboutDrops.
McGee Johnson.
Quentin Johnson.
Come on.
People forget though, he misseda couple games last year, but
had he played on a 17 gameschedule, he was on pace for
nine touchdowns last year.
If he had played a full 17, hewas on pace for nine.
So that's more of a fantasyfootball stat I'll admit.
'Cause the yardage and thecatches, um, aren't coming with

(02:55):
that.
But nine touchdowns is stillnine touchdowns.
I give credit where it's due.
But Quentin Johnston is a badwide receiver in the NFL and
they definitely, in my opinion,if they are going to be relying
on Quentin Johnston in 2025 toproduce for them at this point.
I, I don't know what to say.
I think Terry McClure would fitin very well with that group.

(03:16):
Another team in the A FCI thinkwould make a lot of sense that
is kind of flying under theradar as well.
I know they just brought inTyler Lockett, but why not get
another weapon for the numberone overall pick?
Cam Ward, Tyler Lockett, more ofa slot guy.
You have two outside guys.
Calvin Ridley, Terry McLaurin.
I don't know.
That could be a lot of fun.
I like setting up my rookiequarterbacks with as many

(03:37):
weapons as possible.
Get Terry McLaurin in there.
But the big one that everyonealways talks about, and the one
that probably makes the mostsense is the New England
Patriots.
Ooh.
They have the money to pay him, which is gonna be a big part of
this.
Whatever team he would be tradedto is gonna have to give him a
contract.
They could pay him.
And again, Drake May, right nowall he has is Stefan Diggs as

(03:59):
his notable weapons, right?
I mean, DeMar Douglass, come onman.
Don't forget about De Mario.
Douglas and, and Keshawn uti.
Uti, yeah, he's there.
But these aren't guys that arereally gonna move the needle for
you.
These are kind of, we'd put'emin Jag territory.
Just a guy potentially.
Terry McLaurin is not a Jag,though.
Terry McLaurin would completelyelevate the status of that

(04:22):
offense.
Have a one-two punch of StefanDiggs.
Terry McLaurin.
I think the Patriots of the movethat makes the most sense, and
that's the one that we've seen alot of links as well, would be
Terry McLaurin to the Patriots.
But I definitely think if thecommanders were to move from him
it would be the first mistakesince Dan Snyder had left.
This is a new regime that hadmade all the right moves for the

(04:43):
commanders, you know, commandersfans for decades.
We're so sick of havingincompetent management under Dan
Schneider.
But this new ownership group hasdone all the right things for
the commanders to this point.
They've made all the rightmoves, all the right hires, Dan
Quinn, Jaden Daniels, everything's been going great.
But not rewarding.

(05:04):
Terry McLaurin, who was yourmost loyal player throughout all
these years, all this turmoil.
He never had a good quarterbackup until this past season.
And we saw what happened when hehad a great quarterback, he
produced at a elite level andwas a massive, massive part in

(05:24):
why that offense was prolificenough to take them to the NFC
championship game with a rookiequarterback.
Agree.
And for them to not reward himand his loyalty with a big fat
payday would be a travesty.
Now we've talked about ourcandidates that we think would
be a lot of sense for him to goto, but James, ultimately, do

(05:45):
you think he even gets traded?
No.
I don't think he gets tradedthis deal will be done, kid.
You not, I will say 10 daysbefore week one.
Yeah, I agree.
I think we're going to see thisdeal eventually get done.
They'll come to their senses.
And credit to Terry McLaurin.
He has made it clear that he hasdone all the right things to
this point.

(06:06):
He's disappointed and pissed offthat he has not been treated
fairly and, and almost feelslike they've kind of just
brushed that to the side.
His contributions to everythinghe's done for that franchise
over these past three or fouryears, that's just kinda been
brushed to the side.
So I, fully support him standingon business on this one.
And I think eventually theWashington Group will come to a

(06:28):
consensus and they'll figure outa way to get him the contracting
he needs.
They'll work it out and TerryMcLaurin will play football for
the Washington Commanders in2025.
And I'll even say this, he'll beready for week one.
