I'm Chelsea you with the Y ninety six point nine. Mattie,
you are the El Paso County Fair Queen this year.
What does that title mean to you?

Speaker 2 (00:06):
So? Being al Passa County Fair Queen honestly means more
than just the title itself. It means, you know, being
an ambassador for the fair and everything that comes with.
So whether it representing the four h and fi FA members,
whether it representing all the themes that we're going for
this year, whether it be an ambassador to you know,
show our military appreciation or the Western Heritage or you
know al Pasa County as a whole, It honestly means

(00:29):
everything that the fair stands for in each theme that
comes with every single day.

Speaker 1 (00:32):
And for the fair that kicks off this weekend. You
don't just represent one thing just.

Speaker 2 (00:36):
To kind of go through a little bit like we
have one day where it's Military Appreciation, like standing up
for the military and Western Heritage and al Pasca County
Day and then our Dollar Day and our Agricultural Day
and Heroes Day. I honestly stand for more than just
the fair itself, but all of those and what that
comes with. And you know, whether that means like my mom,
for example, is a first responder, so you know, standing

(00:57):
up and taking that role of representing that as well.

Speaker 1 (01:00):
And just quickly while performing queen duties, you are also
pursuing nursing at the Colorado State University of Pubblo. Correct,
you're busy, yep, I'm in school NonStop, so I'm trying
to do everything, so you are you doing it all?
And the one hundred and twentieth l Paso County Fair
kicks off this weekend, which is so exciting and there's
a ton to check out, right, Oh yeah.

Speaker 2 (01:20):
There's tons from free entertainment like Thrill Extravaganza, which is
you know, standing on a huge wheel at thirty five
feet and doing a whole bunch of rotate like rotations
and walking and flips and whatever else and a whole
bunch of different things as well as like Joe who
he does this whole big thing with honestly just performances,
walk around sets with all of his little characters. And

(01:41):
then we also have the Hype Crew, which they'll also
be around the fair, which you know, everyone gets everyone pumped.

Speaker 1 (01:46):
Up, so and you'll be at the fair correct all
the time.

Speaker 2 (01:49):
If you've seen me walking around. Please come stay him.
I'm always available whether you want to get an autograph,
a picture, you know, just try to come and find me.
I should be all over the place so well.
