of my cousin's lake house, my five year old granddaughter
Alisha frantically started saying, Graham, Graham, don't look, don't look.
I ask, don't look at what? She frantically answered, don't
look at that idol? The Bible says not to look
upon idols. I then discovered a small concrete garden ornament

in the flower bed. I realized that in Alicia's eyes,
it was an idol. We are to be as cautious
and urgent as my granddaughter at keeping idols or anything
else save the One True God from our lives that
would become a source of worship. God's instructions to his
people were very explicit in this matter. He reminded the

people of his goodness and deliverance of them, and that
they were to have no other gods before him. This
same edict applies to us today. Often man forgets God's
protection and provisions for him, and in turn gives credit
to lesser things. Do not turn to idols or make
gods of cast metal for yourselves. I am the Lord

God Leveticus nineteen four. Read Exodus twenty one through seventeen.
Pray that God will put a shield around your heart
that keeps out anything that would take your eyes off
Him or that would in any sense become an idol

and Dental Society. Since his duties take him away from
his family so often, he asked them to accompany him
that night so that they could all be together. He

their time, but if they should instead make sure that
God was the controlling force behind their lives. He said,

and thirteen, were praising their dad for his good speech. Sandy,
his wife, tested their understanding and asked them what meaning
they got from it. They reiterated what he said, almost verbadim.
She then asked Austin, their six year old son. He
thoughtfully replied, well, I think what he was saying was

that if you play pinball, don't be the ball. Too
often in life we are, indeed the pinball, being not
to and fro, not even aware of the forces propelling us.
Often we let life's demands and circumstances consume us instead
of our enjoying the abundant life that Christ promises. God

should truly be the controller of our lives. I have
come that they may have life and have it to

and be reminded that it is God's will that you,
as His child, have an abundant life, and that He

by stresses and pressures in your life, and that He
will help you to discern the direction He wants you
