Speaker 1 (06:29):
You are the only one in our organization who knows me.
I am happy you follow things as I decide them.
Did anyone see you leave the hotel?

Speaker 7 (06:38):
Not a chair, So anyone who was trading leading the plane,
they think I'm still in my hotel room. I came
down the service elevator, out of the service entrance. I
got to get back right away before someone missus Carl. Yes, yes,
of course he did his job. Yeah, the diamonds. They
gave me a hundred thousand dollars worth, not one hundred

(06:59):
and fifty thousand dollars worth. There's no mistake.

Speaker 4 (07:03):
No, oh, perhaps I am mistaken.

Speaker 1 (07:06):
I received a call from London with a cold message
mentioning the amount and the number four, which means that
the diamonds were to be taped under seat four annual plane.

Speaker 5 (07:18):
That's right. I sat over them right across the ocean.

Speaker 1 (07:20):
Then I called our friend Joe at the airport, told
him in cold aport to get the diamonds from under
seat fort after the plane had landed and give them.

Speaker 5 (07:29):
To his who naturally is Carl the waiter. These are
the diamonds he gave me.

Speaker 1 (07:35):
I was almost positive. Our London friend said one hundred
and fifty thousand dollars. But I might have been mistaken
my mouth. Yes, a cup of tea for mister Lewis.
He has brought us a hundred thousand dollars worth of diamond.

Speaker 7 (07:56):
Oh, no thanks, I don't care for any Ooh, but diamonds.

Speaker 1 (08:00):
You must think a cup of tea as a token
that you got that.

Speaker 2 (08:06):
Let's have you.

Speaker 5 (08:19):
Well it's the case. Then shall we talk business in just.

Speaker 2 (08:22):
A moment mister Lewis, After all, we made disappointment over
a week ago, waiting.

Speaker 4 (08:26):
A few more minutes.

Speaker 5 (08:28):
Oh there he is.

Speaker 2 (08:28):
Now come in, hello, blanking three o'clock sharp, this as
you promised. How are you? Some times are how are
you anxious?

Speaker 4 (08:35):
To get down to business?

Speaker 2 (08:36):
And I will know that you're here? Alright, Blackie, this
is mister Lewis.

Speaker 4 (08:39):
Mister Lewis bought.

Speaker 2 (08:40):
Boston, Blackie.

Speaker 5 (08:41):
Al hey news black are you?

Speaker 2 (08:43):
Uh, mister Lewis is going to sell me fifty thousand
dollars worth of diamonds? Black? How much hundred'clock?

Speaker 5 (08:50):
That would be a fair price? Fair to me a
couple of tea, gentlemen?

Speaker 2 (08:55):
I think? So? What about al right? Now? Uh about
these diamonds, mister Lewis. Yes, you say that diamonds are
worth more than the fifty.

Speaker 7 (09:03):
Thousand, much more. Yeah, take a look, you know, diamonds baking?

Speaker 2 (09:08):
Mm by the bargain, Lewis, is it speak kind of
Kingston week?

Speaker 5 (09:14):
They're not stolen blaking?

Speaker 2 (09:15):
Well, then let's drink to a good deal. Do your
health gentlemen a you thank you very much now let's
get down to business, right, Lewis, where do these diamonds
come from?

Speaker 8 (09:28):
I know if they were hot, they're not even slightly warm, Blackie,
So what difference they rely from the look?

Speaker 5 (09:40):
What's the matter?

Speaker 2 (09:43):
Oh, likey?

Speaker 5 (09:45):
What's the matter within him?

Speaker 2 (09:46):
Is nothing with a little life, couldn't you? He's dead head?
And from the looks of them, I say, we're poisons.
You better call the police. Police. Oh well, we can't, Flaky,
I I can't be involved in anything like this. I
can't afford a scandal if you don't know what a
scandal it might be. I think it's funny about these diamonds.
But then the chef as are they would smuggled in, Charlie,
a dead smuggler will be found in my apartment, now, Blackie,

(10:07):
that would ruin me. Blacky, please now get rid of
the body. You can do it. Nobody will believe we
had nothing to do with Lewis's death. Please fight you
get rid of this body for me, Okay, Charlie, I'll try,
But what a field there it'll be for Paraday if
he ever finds out about this. Stop the car about here, Charley,

(10:34):
any place along this road?

Speaker 4 (10:35):
All right? Uh?

Speaker 2 (10:40):
I'll carry the body over to these bushes. But I
got a hunch we should have called Paraday. Here god
one Blackie getting rid of one body. We couldn't have
called Faraday. Blackie.

Speaker 4 (10:57):
Think what that would have meant to my reputation.

Speaker 2 (11:00):
Would have meant of the inspected? Well, mister Lewis's buddy
got down to the wheel, Charlie duck here, My gosh, Blacky,
do you think I'm not thinking anything. I mean, that
car just happened to be getting along this road, seeing
about it went past, Blackie. Thank goodness, goodness, I had
nothing to do with this. Kingston has luck, just plain luck. Look, Charlie,

(11:33):
we're here at my apartment.

Speaker 5 (11:35):
We'll say it so far.

Speaker 2 (11:36):
Stop pacing up and down. I can't help it. I'm worried.
You can worry just as well sitting down. We're no danger,
providing nobody saw us.

Speaker 4 (11:45):
That car had passed us on the road.

Speaker 2 (11:46):
Blackie.

Speaker 5 (11:46):
I'm worried about it.

Speaker 2 (11:48):
M I'm a little concerned about that myself. Oh, something
tells me that Faraday police Blacky when we do put
him and Charlie, and if Paraday knows something, which I doubt,
I can't grab me because I love good through you
behind boys, try and get rid him, all right, But Milkey.

Speaker 4 (12:06):
Coming, I'm flowing speck a saturday.

Speaker 2 (12:12):
Well, Sharlie Kingston. Good, I'll take both you and Blankie
down the headquarters at the same time. Headquarters. Well for
what you all know? For what come on in, mister Brown. Now,
this is the man that dead guy Lewis went to see.
Isn't it too? Isn't How do you know anyone came
to see me? I'm Pauled Brown at the Kingston Customs official.
I was following the Lewis when he went to your
house and I saw your friend bought in Blackie carrying

(12:33):
out Lewis's body. He followed you in the car and
saw you dumped the body. Now I was flankey.

Speaker 4 (12:37):
He isn't here.

Speaker 2 (12:38):
He has to be here. Brown followed him here. Blackie
hasn't gone out, and he can't get out. I've got
a man at the back door. Come on, come on,
where is he?

Speaker 5 (12:46):
He's in the bedroom.

Speaker 4 (12:47):
Come on, Brown, we look.

Speaker 2 (12:48):
You take the kitchen right because he's in there.

Speaker 4 (12:50):
I'll get him.

Speaker 2 (12:53):
And blank he's not in the bedroom. Do you find
him in that? Brown?

Speaker 4 (12:57):
Not the kicken?

Speaker 2 (12:57):
M Well, he's in here somewhere. Look at the closets everywhere, Specter, thirday,
Blanky and I didn't kill mister Lewis. You didn't, Huh.
We have a cup of tea in your place. I
know that because I saw the cups and sauce.

Speaker 1 (13:09):
Yes.

Speaker 2 (13:09):
But Andy was killed by poisoned tea. The medical examiner
rest an analysis when we brought in Lewis's body, can't
understand it. In secretariday, I searched his apartment from top
to bottom. It's tell a blackie that isn't here. You
can't find him not here. One of these days I'll
get that guy and I come on, Kingston, you're going
to headquarters. Why I tell you I didn't poison Lewis
by Kingston, But you're the only one who had a

(13:30):
chance to poison him. I've been following him. He didn't
leave his room at the Carlton Hotel except to go
to your house. He had his knee is up in
his room, and he never ordered tea, and poisoned tea
killed him and you gave him tea. Looks like we've
got you, Kingston. You don't blanky both, but you haven't
blanky yet.

Speaker 4 (13:45):
Oh, but I'll get him.

Speaker 2 (13:46):
Oh, just wait till I get that Boston Blankie. Just wait.

Speaker 9 (13:58):
Now.

Speaker 6 (13:58):
Back to Boston, Blackie, Mama, and paper Avan run a
quiet little bookstore as a front for a profitable trade
in smuggled diamonds. Paper Avin poisons Frank Lewis, but the
poison doesn't take effect until Lewis is at the home

(14:19):
of Boston Blackie's friend.

Speaker 2 (14:20):
Charlie Kingston.

Speaker 6 (14:22):
At Kingston's insistence, Blackie dumps the body of Lewis, but
unbeknownst to him, a customs inspector has been following Lewis
and trails Blackie and Kingston to Blackie's apartment. Here, the
customs man and inspector Paraday break in, but they find
no trace of blacking. As we return to our story,
it is a few seconds afterwards.

Speaker 2 (14:45):
Sure that result be uncomfortable. Look he heard? He didn't
look fair for me. Can't to get Kingston out of
this gym? That's a must? Oh, Mary, Oh, who are less?

Speaker 1 (15:04):
What's the money?

Speaker 2 (15:04):
Son? Exciting? Not without reason? Only I won't tell you
why now, except that I spent the last five minutes
on the ledge outside of my living room window.

Speaker 3 (15:11):
We see that Less it's only a fort riding a
nine story up.

Speaker 2 (15:14):
You couldn't stand on that. No, I'm glady to know
that year that lives well, and stop jumping Mary listening.
You've got to do something for me, of course I will.
A man named Frank Lewis had a room at the
call from the hotel. I overheard that while I was out.

Speaker 4 (15:27):
On the ledge.

Speaker 2 (15:28):
I want you to get a room there too, and
order something from room service. Only make sure you get
the waiter who served Lewis earlier today.

Speaker 1 (15:34):
How do I do that?

Speaker 2 (15:35):
Well, split some money around him. You'll find which waiter was.
I wanna look at him. I'll be around somewhere. Mary,
wait for the waiter and then wait for me.

Speaker 3 (15:54):
Come in.

Speaker 4 (15:56):
Your dinner, miss?

Speaker 2 (15:57):
Oh?

Speaker 3 (15:57):
Fine, fine, thank you?

Speaker 1 (15:59):
Would you? Would you please bring it in?

Speaker 4 (16:01):
It's very complimentary of you to ask for me.

Speaker 3 (16:04):
If somebody recommended me, Yes, a friend who stayed here
last week?

Speaker 2 (16:08):
Uh?

Speaker 4 (16:08):
Any place you'd like me to put the table? Miss?

Speaker 1 (16:10):

Speaker 1 (16:13):

Speaker 3 (16:21):
Oh dear, Now where is my purse.

Speaker 4 (16:25):

Speaker 3 (16:26):

Speaker 1 (16:51):
Now where did I put my purse?

Speaker 4 (16:53):

Speaker 1 (16:54):

You're waiting here for Blankie? All right? Sooner or later
he'll be here. I'll be in touch with you then

Speaker 1 (17:41):

Speaker 1 (17:44):

Speaker 2 (17:46):
Who was that just came in? You mean Carl Black

Speaker 4 (17:53):
He doesn't do nothing.

Set sit up in his room and talk to Joe,
And he asked Joe, Joe Bernard, Carl's roommate.

Oh, he did leave the hotel once before he went
to Kingston.

Speaker 1 (19:38):

Speaker 2 (19:38):

Look you're yapping too much, say, I don't know who
the boss is? Do I love you?

Speaker 1 (22:58):
Come in, Hello, you are Carlin Joe, aren't you don't
love either.

Speaker 2 (23:06):
One of you? Please look Papa, you you can't kill
our hand time. I'm sure mister Lewis had the same doubt.
But just a minute, I am about to make a
terrible error. There are three hats on the table here,
and so far I have accounted for only two heads.

Speaker 1 (23:24):
I think perhaps the third one might belong to someone
hiding in this clocket. So come out a man. I
have a gun in my hand.

Speaker 2 (23:36):
I see it. Thank You's a look in your eye.
It frightens me more. Blackie, you're responsible for all this.

Speaker 1 (23:41):
Shut up girl, Blackie. So this is mister Boston Blackie. Well,
mister Blackie, you are about to make the headlines again,
but this time not.

I h I have LANKI who he's Mike Zillo Faraday? Alright,
rollin spring the boys in here around up this gang?

Speaker 4 (24:06):
Wow?

Speaker 2 (24:06):
But you never get here? Faraday?

Speaker 4 (24:08):
What do you mean you thought I'd never get here?

Speaker 2 (24:10):
You're just lucky. I was in that hotel room with
this Wednesday when you phoned and I traced the call,
You'd be dead. Now if I went so smart, I
knew you were in that room with Mary Faraday. That's
why I made the call. I wanted you to trace it.

Speaker 4 (24:23):
You wanted me to sure.

Speaker 2 (24:25):
I don't really wanted you to get me out of
this jam, but I wanted to show well, I must
show my appreciation. I have arranged for you to pick
up call here and Joe and Papa. Now I've given
you a nice hall. Now I suppose you haul me home.
I'm tired.

Speaker 3 (24:52):
Well, Blackie, all I've got to say is, once you
got your teeth into that smuggling situation, thing certainly happened fast.

One figure? Certain Mary the gang was broken up, and
even the London contact has been uh. Let's see how
it Scottlandyard say it's uh apprehended.

Speaker 3 (25:08):
You know, of course that you had me worried when
you didn't get to the hotel in time to.

Speaker 1 (25:11):
See the waiter.

Speaker 2 (25:12):
I was in the hall and followed him.

Speaker 3 (25:14):

you and me that attracts situations like the smuggling?

Speaker 1 (25:32):
You know?

Speaker 2 (25:32):
The thing that amuse me that the last case of
odds is how Papa and Mama used to bookstores are
blind for their smuggling activities. The old man seemed to
be very fond of books.

Speaker 3 (25:42):
By the way, that it should be at the Saturday booked.
