(03:27):
I think it would be to be all right now,
doctor Williams, it should be, Blackie. I haven't used it
for two weeks. Say this is the day I've been
waiting for. May I use your phone? Of course, he's
the one on the right. The other phone connects to
my apartment upstairs. That's what you really call a home office.
Then you could put your voice to better use than that, Blackie.

(03:49):
I'm gonna put it to a great use, doctor Williams.
I'm gonna phone inspect the Paraday and really tell him off.
Excuse me, here's my apartment calling.

Speaker 3 (03:57):
Yes, Doctor Williams.

Speaker 4 (03:59):
This is Mabel, Yes, Mabell.

Speaker 5 (04:00):
What is it?

Speaker 4 (04:01):
Something the matter with the baby?

Speaker 1 (04:02):
Doctor Williams called the police right away. What Bob, my
husband has stolen This is Williams pearl necklace and he's
holding him here with the gun.

Speaker 4 (04:08):
I'll be right upstairs. I'll call the police from there.
Come on, Blackie, upstairs. What's the moment My wife's pearl
necklace has been stolen? Just call the police, doctor, have
them look for it. But if Inspector Faraday finds out
I was upstairs near apartment a few minutes ago. He
won't look for the pearls, he'll look for me, soul long.

Speaker 3 (04:33):
All right, let's tear this room apart if we have to.
We'll find that necklace for him. Missus Williams, Now, this
is the last room in the house. It has to
be in here. Keep looking, Relins.

Speaker 4 (04:42):
You didn't find anything on Robert, Inspector.

Speaker 3 (04:45):
Another thing, Doctor Williams. He's in the next room putting
his clothes on, said, do you know who Robert Atkins
is now one of the most famous jewel thieves in
the country.

Speaker 2 (04:53):
Yes, yes, but this time you don't have anything on me.

Speaker 3 (04:56):
Copper.

Speaker 2 (04:56):
I'm getting out of here. Hang in this room.

Speaker 3 (04:59):
It's found of here, Rollins, keep looking, okay, Inspector Robert
here hasn't been out of the house today.

Speaker 4 (05:05):
The jewels were in the safe this morning. The necklace
must be somewhere in this house.

Speaker 3 (05:09):
I know that, doctor, But tell me where. I haven't
searched in this house, and that's where you'll find the
stolen pearls.

Speaker 2 (05:14):
Stolen, Inspector, you mean missing? Don't you stolen? You admitted
your stole them, didn't you not to you?

Speaker 3 (05:21):
I didn't and until you can provide, Tilton, those pearls
are just missing, and you're gonna have to.

Speaker 2 (05:26):
Let me go.

Speaker 3 (05:27):
Go ahead, Atkins, beat it. I know you don't have
the pearls on you, so you're not getting away with
the thing.

Speaker 2 (05:32):
Don't be to the shore.

Speaker 3 (05:34):
I have plenty sure. I'm sure those pearls are still
in this house, and I'm gonna put a police guard
on duty here to make sure you never get back
in to pick him up. I asked Cram with pleasure,
with pleasure with Inspector, you shouldn't have.

Speaker 4 (05:48):
Let him go.

Speaker 5 (05:48):
I had to let him go.

Speaker 3 (05:49):
Missus Williams have nothing on him, but don't worry. I
won't let him out of sight. Hi Rollins, you and
Thompson trail Atkins. One of you keep an eye on
him all the time. Come on, Tompson, Inspector faradayec If
Robert hasn't.

Speaker 4 (06:03):
Walked out with those pearls, if he couldn't have taken
them out of the house this morning, if they're still
in this house.

Speaker 2 (06:08):
Where are they?

Speaker 3 (06:09):
If I could answer that, when doctor Williams, I'd quit
the force and work on quiz programs.

Speaker 1 (06:13):
Excuse me, I thought everyone had gone no, Mabel, Robert
is gone.

Speaker 3 (06:18):
He didn't have the pearls. Oh, I'm so glad she
was lying then, wasn'tly well? Missus Atkins. I don't think
he was dying, as I told you before. I think
he stole those pearls.

Speaker 2 (06:27):
And I think you're in on the scheme with him.

Speaker 1 (06:28):
Oh just because i'm married a see, that doesn't mean
i'm one too.

Speaker 3 (06:33):
You know Mabel doesn't have a necklace.

Speaker 4 (06:34):
Inspector.

Speaker 1 (06:35):
You had to make them search her and she found nothing.

Speaker 3 (06:38):
Yeah, No, that that's all I do know. Atkins took
those pearls. He hasn't got them his wife. He should
know where they are, she says, she doesn't. You know
what I miss There's only one thing missing from this case.
Uh huh, here's that one thing? Flggie, what are you
doing here?

Speaker 4 (06:54):
I can't see doctor Williams, but one look at your
face convinces me you need a doctor them or than
I do Blackie. Hi, hell um, missus Williams. No doctor. Well,
now the paraday's here. What else has been stolen?

Speaker 3 (07:06):
How do you know anything with stolen? Here? Flankey.

Speaker 4 (07:08):
I heard it over the radio, so I thought i'd
come over and solve the whole case for you, inspector.

Speaker 3 (07:11):
We'll go back and listen to your radio again. Maybe
you'll hear of a case in South America.

Speaker 4 (07:15):
I'm interested only in your case, is Paraday, the ones
that are never solved until.

Speaker 3 (07:19):
I come along, when you can get along this time,
because this one is already solved. Malla, beat can stall
those pearls?

Speaker 4 (07:25):
Can you prove it?

Speaker 3 (07:25):
Can I prove it?

Speaker 2 (07:26):
Can I prove it?

Speaker 3 (07:27):
White?

Speaker 4 (07:29):
No? All right, Paraday? Where do you want me to begin?

Speaker 3 (07:34):
Begin by going out the door and then by staying
out of my way.

Speaker 4 (07:37):
And leave you muddled up in the middle or nothing doing.
I couldn't do that to you or my conscience.

Speaker 6 (07:43):
You need not so loud.

Speaker 4 (07:44):
The baby doesn't like it, Maybel, I think you'd better
take Carolin inside.

Speaker 1 (07:48):
Yes, Doctor Williams, right away.

Speaker 4 (07:51):
Now, let's see, won't we getting nowhere? I'm afraid, whacky.

Speaker 3 (07:56):
Well, I'm getting somewhere out of here, and you get
out of this case, Flankie.

Speaker 4 (08:00):
You know what I'll get out of a fire day,
the solution and my own personal satisfaction.

Speaker 3 (08:05):
Uh don't pay any attention to anything, he says, missus
Williams is but uhuh no, uh I'm leaving a policeman
and a matron here to search everybody every time they
go out of this house. Those pearls are still here
and somebody's trying to get 'em out.

Speaker 4 (08:18):
We understand the course, and I'm going back to the
headquarters until.

Speaker 3 (08:20):
I hear from the men trailing at him. I'll be
in touch with you as soon as I know something.

Speaker 4 (08:24):
All right, inspect him. Thanks, Missus Williams.

Speaker 1 (08:30):
Thanks black people.

Speaker 4 (08:31):
What but not telling Fara Day that I was up
here this morning just before you missed the pearls?

Speaker 1 (08:36):
Why you know, I just didn't think of it, or
I would have told him. I guess, Oh there's the door,
they'll Mabel. Yes, Missus Williams, you answered the door.

Speaker 4 (08:43):
Please, Yes, ma'am. You know I think Faraday made a mistake.
Blackie Atkins took those pearls out of here when they
inspected let him go. I got it. The police searched
them and they're very thorough.

Speaker 1 (08:53):
Missus Williams. Yes, Mabel, and mister Horace Paulding to see you,
h from the insurance coming home. Oh yes, we've been
expecting that will be all Mabel. Yeah, I'm Missus Williams.

Speaker 4 (09:03):
Mister Spaulding.

Speaker 5 (09:03):
Oh, how do you do Missus Williams.

Speaker 2 (09:05):
Uh, this is my husband.

Speaker 4 (09:06):
How donder?

Speaker 3 (09:07):
This is Boston Blackie.

Speaker 5 (09:09):
How do you do that?

Speaker 6 (09:11):
Uh?

Speaker 7 (09:11):
It was quite a valuable necklace you lost, Missus Williams.

Speaker 5 (09:14):
You haven't insured with my company for fifty thousand.

Speaker 4 (09:17):
Dollars and it's really more valuable than that.

Speaker 5 (09:19):
Yes, I know. So suppose we get right to work
and see if we can't find it.

Speaker 6 (09:23):
The police think our handyman Robert took it, but nothing
was found on him.

Speaker 7 (09:27):
I'll get my report on him directly from the police,
Missus Williams.

Speaker 5 (09:30):
But can you tell me who was in the house
at the time the robbery was discovered.

Speaker 3 (09:34):
Well, Robert and his wife Mabel were here.

Speaker 1 (09:38):
I was, of course, and my husband moved down Stairsney's
offer with Boston Blacky.

Speaker 3 (09:42):
Oh oh black Yeah, I'm so sorry, Boston Blackie.

Speaker 4 (09:47):
Eh mm.

Speaker 5 (09:49):
It seems to me that name has appeared in connection.

Speaker 3 (09:52):
With several duel robberies, arrests, but no conviction.

Speaker 5 (09:56):
Spawling mm hm, there's always a first time, you know.

Speaker 6 (10:00):
Uh.

Speaker 5 (10:01):
You'll hear me later, Missus Williams. And uh Blackie, I.

Speaker 6 (10:05):
Think perhaps you will too.

Speaker 3 (10:21):
It'spect the Paradise speaking inspect This is Horace Spauling of
the National Insurance Company. Oh, yes, Spawling. Uh did you
got my report on the Williams your robbery?

Speaker 5 (10:28):
Yes, sakes just arrived.

Speaker 3 (10:30):
You a man are still training Robert Atkins? Ah, yes,
I just heard from them. Atkins hasn't made a suspicious
move yet, but give 'em time he will.

Speaker 4 (10:38):
Uh do you think you have the right man?

Speaker 3 (10:41):
Well, I don't have the proof yet, but uh, I'll
give you a tip, inspectator. Yeah.

Speaker 7 (10:45):
What, it's just possible that doctor and missus Williams are
crying wolf for the insurance company.

Speaker 3 (10:51):
Uh huh, you may have something there now. I think
I'll follow that up. Say, uh, bat necklace was insured
for play, wasn't it.

Speaker 4 (10:59):
Fifty tells him.

Speaker 3 (11:01):
Well, maybe they did rob themselves. So I'm going out
to see them about that. Oh you know, I'm going
to see Oh Austin Blakey. Oh no, no, he's not
mixed up in this. He can't be.

Speaker 7 (11:12):
He might be inspected because he was in the house
when missus Williams.

Speaker 5 (11:16):
Discovered the robbery. I think maybe that's something you want
to know.

Speaker 3 (11:20):
Something when Blankie is at the scene of a crime.

Speaker 2 (11:23):
That's all I wanna know.

Speaker 4 (11:35):
Well, that's fine, Mary, we'll I have some work to
do right here in my apartment, so phone me here
as soon as you throw huh, okay, goodbye, come in.

Speaker 5 (11:47):
I uh, visitor Blackie.

Speaker 4 (11:49):
No, not at all, especially what I've been expecting. Like you,
how's the insurance business pulling? Ooh?

Speaker 5 (11:55):
Picking up?

Speaker 4 (11:56):
Picking up what clues?

Speaker 5 (11:58):
And people who see few pul.

Speaker 4 (12:00):
Necklaces we ensure subtle aren't sure?

Speaker 5 (12:04):
Thank ee.

Speaker 7 (12:05):
I'm convinced that there's more than one person involved in it,
that the Williams pose. I'm sure that contestn't working alone.
Excuse me, keep the conversation short.

Speaker 5 (12:16):
Well, you know I don't have too much time.

Speaker 4 (12:19):
Hello, Lanke, he did this.

Speaker 1 (12:21):
He just pay you with you?

Speaker 4 (12:22):
Oh yes, black here.

Speaker 1 (12:23):
I'm want to apologize for telling how insurance agent you
were here.

Speaker 4 (12:27):
Oh that's all right. I would have told him myself.
Sooner or later you would be coming to see who?
Like is? I know that he's here right now? You
mean he was?

Speaker 3 (12:36):
Yeah?

Speaker 4 (12:36):
They spoiling. Wait a minute, is there now a black Ki?
Well he was, but all of a sudden he just
walked out the door.

Speaker 3 (12:43):
I wonder why.

Speaker 4 (12:44):
Well, I don't know, but I think I better go
out and try to catch him. I think he knows
something about the Prouse. Well, he seems to have some
theory about uh how they were taken? Uh who took them?
All I could get out of him was a word
or two, thank you? You really think he knows who
took me? I'm going out and try to catch him
in the hall and fin, madad, I'll call you back. Goodbye?
And what made him leave like that? Hey' spawling? But wow?

(13:10):
They say dead men tell no tales. And you're not
going to be an exception to the rule, are you? Oh?
The Holbord?

Speaker 3 (13:18):
Hello, Blackie?

Speaker 4 (13:19):
Goodbye, Paraday?

Speaker 2 (13:20):
Who's that on the floor of Blackie?

Speaker 5 (13:22):
What's the matter with him?

Speaker 4 (13:23):
That's spawling? The insurance detective And there's nothing wrong with him.
The little light wouldn't cure you.

Speaker 3 (13:27):
Did it, black Elo? Hey, what's the idea of pulling
out a gun?

Speaker 4 (13:31):
Why? Inspectors? Make sure you don't bother me while I
fall out of here? Right now? Are you? And now

(14:44):
back to Boston, Blackie.

Speaker 3 (14:52):
Blackie is in trouble with the police.

Speaker 4 (14:55):
He's suspected of stealing a fifty thousand dollars pearl necklace
and accused of killing the insurance agent investigating the case.
So far, Faraday has been able neither to catch Blackie
nor find the missing pearls, which Bob Atkins said he stole,
But the police cannot find the necklace, so Atkins is
a free man, although he is being shadowed by the police. Faraday, however,

(15:18):
is turning most of his attention on Blackie, who, as
we return to our story, is in the basement workshop
of doctor Williams, whose home the necklace was stolen. You
look pretty good with a hammer and nails, doctor will him. Well,
carpentry is my hobby, Blackie. I've made most of the

(15:40):
baby's toys down here, you know, wagon or building squares,
that string of blocks he plays with all the time,
and then her toy box, uh huh. And this, believe
it or not, this is going to be a dollhouse someday.
Say look, Blackie, maybe you shouldn't be here. Oh it's

(16:02):
safe for the moment. I locked Paraday in my apartment
before I left. It should take him a while to
get out. Who word did that? Fellow spawling Blackie, that's
Paraday and they'll tell you why I did. Now, look
at he thinks that I didn't see how you got
away from him, cause it was very simple. I found
spawling dead in the hall the minute Faraday stepped out
of the elevator. I pulled a gun on him, backed

(16:23):
him into a closet in my apartment, locked the door,
and beat it. Oh oh uh, how are you gonna
get away from him the second time? I'm going to
make sure that there isn't any second time. I think
we better tell missus Williams or the baby's nurse to
warn us if Paraday shows up though. Oh the uh
the nurse went out about nar ago and hasn't come
back yet. Alright, Oh, how you that's my wife upstairs?

(16:47):
Come on right with it? Dark, Yeah, this way up
the stairs. Okay, I'm right with it.

Speaker 3 (16:53):
Hey, are you alright?

Speaker 4 (16:56):
What's the matter? What's wrong?

Speaker 3 (16:58):
Harry?

Speaker 1 (16:58):
Is a look at maybe hurrying on?

Speaker 5 (17:01):
So much trouble?

Speaker 4 (17:02):
Mabel? What happened to you? HiT's bob? You saw him
maybel where, just a few.

Speaker 1 (17:07):
Blocks from here. I met him on the tree. Tried
to force me to go with him so I wouldn't.
He hit me and knocked me down.

Speaker 4 (17:13):
He wanted you to go with him where.

Speaker 1 (17:15):
I don't know, he didn't say, but he got away
from the policemen who were training him. And he's leaving
town on the five o'clock train.

Speaker 4 (17:21):
Leaving town, and that means he has the pearls. Would
be what happened? Where's the phone back?

Speaker 5 (17:27):
What are you gonna do?

Speaker 4 (17:27):
Blackie? Phone Faraday? This is something you ought to know. Uh. Look,
wouldn't Paraday already know it? He's supposed to have many
puddling at it. It could be the Nations is no
fool string to Mabel, he took the miles ago well
that and got away from paradays men. Maybe he killed
that insurance ag. I thought that for some time.

Speaker 6 (17:45):
Mabe.

Speaker 3 (17:45):
I think you better come up stairs with me and
let me fix so.

Speaker 6 (17:48):
Uh.

Speaker 4 (17:48):
This is William, Thank you, jam Hello Faraday speaking inspector.
This is Blackie.

Speaker 5 (17:53):
Stay where you were?

Speaker 4 (17:54):
You're arrest and you're under delusions? Inspector?

Speaker 2 (17:57):
Where are you?

Speaker 4 (17:57):
Never mind? Where I am? I just called you to
tell you that Robert Atkins is leaving on the five
o'clock train. He's gonna catch that train unless you go
down of the station and catch him.

Speaker 3 (18:18):
I told you when you brought me in your office,
Inspector Faraday, you wouldn't find the pearls on me. That's right, Atkins,
So I didn't, But we'll find him in that suitcase
of yours. You have to have some reason for trying
to get on that five o'clock train.

Speaker 2 (18:28):
Well, sure I had a reason.

Speaker 3 (18:30):
I needed a vacation and I don't like to be
yanked off trains.

Speaker 2 (18:34):
I could sue you for false arrest.

Speaker 3 (18:35):
For this, you'll sue me from jail, and maybe the
warden will be your lawyer. Yeah, Rons, no luck, Inspected,
What do you mean no lock?

Speaker 5 (18:44):
We tore this guy's suitcase and.

Speaker 3 (18:46):
A little pieces and no necklace. Well i'll be you'll
be seeing me, inspect Wait a minute, Alkins, what for
you don't have anything on me? Did I hear of
a guy named Horace Sparling?

Speaker 4 (18:57):
No?

Speaker 3 (18:57):
You know he was murdered earlier this afternoon. No, but
I think you'll know 'em and I think you killed him.
You don't hold me for what you think. Now let
me tell you something. I'd be nice about this. So far,
you've tried to arrest me twice and I haven't squawked.
So I get this and get it straight. You'll lay
a hand on me once more, and I'll go straight
up to the DA and you'll go straight back to

(19:19):
pounding a beat.

Speaker 4 (19:33):
I can't understand it. Doctor Williams. Atkins didn't take those
pearls out of this house. They're well, they're still here somewhere,
but where Blackie. The police searched everywhere, and so have we.
Parone sit on the phone. He had to let Atkins
go again. Yessen, poor may boy. I had to warn
her to be careful when she went out. She got

(19:54):
one beating from her husband. I'm just afraid if they
meet again, she'll get another. You're right, she's in a spot.
I don't imagine she'll feel safe until Paraday does put
her husband in jail. Well, I won't feel safe till
we tag Spauldings killer and find those pearls.

Speaker 3 (20:10):
Like you really think those pearls are in this house?

Speaker 4 (20:12):
Well wait, they hadn't taken out the policeman and the
police matrons such as everyone who goes out of the house,
don't they. I know I'm searched every time I go
out on a call, and your wife and Mabel too.
It's every one of us every time we go out.

Speaker 1 (20:25):
Oh, doctor Williams, I'm taking Carolyn off.

Speaker 4 (20:28):
Or walking a car. Oh all right, Mabel, but don't
keep her out too long. No, wait a minute, Mabel. Uh,
I'll go to the door with you.

Speaker 1 (20:34):
That's what he needs to carry.

Speaker 4 (20:35):
I want to talk to you. Oh, can be right back, doctor,
and take your time. Mabel. I know it's a relief
to you to know your husband isn't in jail. But
by the same token, don't you think it's unsafe for
you to go out walking crazy? Well, he's still on
the suspicion. You know he's being watched by the police.

(20:58):
If you happen to meet him again, the police might
I can respect.

Speaker 1 (21:00):
You too, I'm not worried about that. How can I
have the pearls? I was just searched by the matron.

Speaker 4 (21:07):
Mabel. You're in trouble, do you know what? No? I don't,
but you are, and I'd like to help him.

Speaker 1 (21:16):
I don't want your help, thank you?

Speaker 4 (21:18):
Why not?

Speaker 1 (21:19):
You're in trouble with the police yourself, am I You
were fine with that insurance man's body, and you pulled
a gun on that police inspector. If I'm seen with you,
he'll really get me in trouble with the police.

Speaker 4 (21:32):
Alright, Mabel, don't say I did nothing.

Speaker 1 (21:35):
Maybe you'll end up needing help from me. Ever, think
of that.

Speaker 4 (21:38):
No, I don't like unpleasant for it, and let's forget
the whole thing.

Speaker 1 (21:43):
Come on, Durby.

Speaker 4 (21:46):
Ah, what was that all about? Black ee? Oh nothing,
Doctor Williams say. Look, I got a police car pulling
up in front of the house. Not only a police card.
It's paradise. Oh when he's getting out of it and
I'm getting out of here?

Speaker 1 (22:09):
How are you like it in the park, don't you?

Speaker 4 (22:11):
Garl?

Speaker 1 (22:11):
And oh you saw that squirrel, didn't you? Maybe there's
a pigeon over there by those bushes. Shall we go see?

Speaker 6 (22:18):
Yes?

Speaker 3 (22:18):
Yes, word you're looking for it is right here.

Speaker 1 (22:21):
Oh Bob, you scared me.

Speaker 4 (22:22):
Guys of it?

Speaker 1 (22:23):
Wonderful darling. It's word, hasn't sure?

Speaker 4 (22:26):
You mean?

Speaker 2 (22:27):
It's almost work, Blackie.

Speaker 4 (22:29):
It's Bob got a small gun and a great design
to use it. If you too, don't behave what do
you want? You and Mabel back in the house? What
forward to see an inspector about an inspection? Get in there,

(22:50):
both of you.

Speaker 3 (22:52):
Thank you, I'm looking for you.

Speaker 4 (22:53):
Well stop it will you all get self conscious. Go on,
Bob Mabel into the room.

Speaker 3 (22:58):
All right, what are you doing with that kinsplackie. I
don't have anything on him.

Speaker 4 (23:03):
No Faraday, but I do, and on his charming wife too.

Speaker 1 (23:07):
He's lying.

Speaker 4 (23:08):
You wanna hear my lies? Faraday?

Speaker 6 (23:10):
No?

Speaker 3 (23:11):
All I want is you?

Speaker 4 (23:13):
Why Faraday? How you talk?

Speaker 3 (23:16):
All right? So I want those stolen pearls too, And
you're gonna deliver the pearls.

Speaker 4 (23:20):
Yes, I'm gonna deliver the pearls.

Speaker 3 (23:22):
Half well, I see you do it.

Speaker 4 (23:23):
Watch closely, Friday. To recover the pearl necklace, I first
have to steal a wooden necklace. Baby, Karen.

Speaker 1 (23:30):
Don't take away your necklace.

Speaker 6 (23:31):
You'll cry.

Speaker 4 (23:32):
Paraday is gonna cry much louder in a minute. Wow,
I'll give this back to your Karen.

Speaker 3 (23:36):
Ah, this is crazy.

Speaker 4 (23:37):
That's a good gale town Now, don't cry, don't cry.
Wonderful way I have with children, isn't it?

Speaker 3 (23:42):
Give that stray of blocks back to the baby in
a second.

Speaker 4 (23:45):
Right after I pulled the string of pearls out of it,
What that said? That's the necklace? Well up?

Speaker 3 (23:52):
How did it get in there?

Speaker 4 (23:54):
Simple? Atkins? Use some of the doctor's tools. To hollow
out the inside of the wooden necklace. Then he strung
the pearls inside it. His plan was to leave the
house and then pick up the necklace when his wife
took the baby for a walk in the park.

Speaker 5 (24:05):
Oh well, what do you know?

Speaker 3 (24:08):
Okay, I'm taking Atkins and his wife in for attempted robbery.
Don't move either of you. But Blacky, I'm taking you
in for murder.

Speaker 4 (24:14):
You're being taken in by murder, Paraday. Don't you know
who really killed Spailing? I think Atkins did.

Speaker 3 (24:21):
Now that's impossible.

Speaker 4 (24:23):
I thought that once, but when I checked, I found
out Alkins was across town having lunch when Spauling was killed.
Thanks for that information, Paraday, just proves how right I
was about who did the killing. Mabel, what you said
you were bruised and cut this noon because your husband
feed you.

Speaker 1 (24:37):
That's right.

Speaker 4 (24:38):
And you said you met him only a few blocks
from here.

Speaker 1 (24:41):
I didn't.

Speaker 3 (24:41):
What are you trying to do, Mabel? What me near
the scene of a killing? So I'll really get a rap.
I didn't see you today until out in the park
just now.

Speaker 4 (24:49):
Thanks Bob. Maybe they'll liken your sentence by a hundred
years for that.

Speaker 3 (24:52):
Hey, look, you haven't proved Mabel killed that guy.

Speaker 4 (24:54):
He can't. You as much as admitted it to any Mabel.
You came up to my apartment this noon, probably to
to see me, to find out how much I knew
about you and Bob.

Speaker 1 (25:02):
I had no reason to kill that insurance man.

Speaker 4 (25:04):
You did. When you got to the door of my apartment.
You heard him say that he was sure there was
more than one person involved in the stealing of this necklace,
and that meant you. You probably made some noise while
I was on the phone and Spawling ran out to investigator.

Speaker 1 (25:18):
That's a lie. I was never near your apartment.

Speaker 4 (25:20):
If you were never near my apartment, Mabel, how did
you know I was in trouble with the law for
pulling a gun on the inspector here when he caught
me with spauling buddy. She knew that, Yes, she knew
that to Faraday, How did you know it, Mabel?

Speaker 1 (25:35):
Why I I found out from from you knew it
because you were there hiding in the alcove near the
back stairs.

Speaker 4 (25:42):
Well, you just stabbed Spailing and hadn't had a chance
to leave the floor before I came out in the hall.

Speaker 1 (25:47):
It's a lie. Maybe maybe the doctor told me what
you did.

Speaker 4 (25:51):
I didn't tell her a word, Blackie. Thanks Doctor Williams.
The word. You didn't tell her, the word I wanted
Faraday to hear. Well, mister and missus robint Atkins pearl
necklace isn't the only thing that will be worn around
next this season. In your case, it may be a
rope
