Broken Gavel and Susan Langford are more than just names. I built a legacy which began in 1985, when corruption ruled in a Connecticut courtroom on April Fool's day. What happened next was no laughing matter, because that corruption on April Fool’s Day destroyed lives. Corruption and unethical conduct by legal scholars who ignore the rule of law and ignore the Professional Rules of Conduct Codes, have no right to work in our American justice system. Corruption and greed changes people, causes pain, rips families apart, destroys children and buries truth deep in the pits of hell. It changed the direction of my life, forced me to deal with reality on a level I never thought possible. It forced me to ask questions, to investigate and as a result I spent a lot of time at law libraries in courthouses all over America. Because after the damage was done and my transformation had taken hold, I decided my career path was helping others to understand that broken gavels do not have to destroy your life, you can take control, you can do something about it, and you can overcome the damage done by unethical conduct and corruption in courtrooms. I continued working, fighting against unethical conduct, against corruption, helping the injured overcome the pain caused by unethical legal scholars. For more than 23 years I worked in many states, bravely walking into the “lion’s den”, into the pit of corruption. And without any help, without any lawyers working for me, I took on the corrupt and won back the justice that the unethical took away from their innocent victims. I expanded, handling cases that involved insurance fraud, went after those committing medical malpractice and helped people get the compensation they deserved. I felt their joy when seeing the smiles back on the faces of the injured. I actually saved lives! In 2012, I registered Bringing Down Goliath, Based on a True Story, it was my first attempt at writing a book. On April 17, 2013, I registered a revision for Bringing Down Goliath. In 2015 I wrote and registered Broken Gavel, a screenplay by SA Roberts, my pen name. Later in 2024, I registered Broken Gavel inspired by a True Story, a screenplay revision. And on June 16, 2025, I registered the book, Broken Gavel a Legal Drama Inspired by a True Story. Other writers have used titles such as: Broken Gavel, a work of fiction by Nicholas A. Clemente, 2005. He is now deceased. A Broken Gavel in 2023, by John Troy King. As of September 2025, I have not found anyone who has made a successful career out of single-handedly investigating, bringing to court and without the help of any attorney, successfully winning an outcome for truth and justice. To my knowledge, no other non-lawyer has ever been that successful for 23 plus years. This series of podcasts will explore my 23-year journey of single-handedly helping repair Broken Gavels everywhere, beginning with myself and the injured. Special guests will be invited on to tell their stories. Stay with me and listen to my first episode now, because it will open your eyes and give you insight into why corruption and unethical conduct is out of control, but more importantly, I will talk about what we Americans can and must do about it. Lastley, stay up to date with the happenings on my website at brokengavel.org

The heart was always off-limits to surgeons. Cutting into it spelled instant death for the patient. That is, until a ragtag group of doctors scattered across the Midwest and Texas decided to throw out the rule book. Working in makeshift laboratories and home garages, using medical devices made from scavenged machine parts and beer tubes, these men and women invented the field of open heart surgery. Odds are, someone you know is alive because of them. So why has history left them behind? Presented by Chris Pine, CARDIAC COWBOYS tells the gripping true story behind the birth of heart surgery, and the young, Greatest Generation doctors who made it happen. For years, they competed and feuded, racing to be the first, the best, and the most prolific. Some appeared on the cover of Time Magazine, operated on kings and advised presidents. Others ended up disgraced, penniless, and convicted of felonies. Together, they ignited a revolution in medicine, and changed the world.
