in your career and in your business. This podcast is

(00:22):
would also draw and encouraging words from the Bible to
give the pensight. Let's get started. Welcome to the episode
two of the Carrier and Faith Podcast. If you're looking
for growth in your carrier or business, or unique guidance
and encouragement, this podcast is for you. In today's episode,
(00:45):
we'll be talking about the excellent Spirit. What do we
mean when we say the excellent spirit? The excellent spirit
can be defined in so many ways. One common definition
is a person who constant the excels at all they do.
According to the Dictionary, excellence is defined as the quality
(01:07):
of being outstanding or extremely good. It is often tied
to academic outcomes, which is where we get the phrase
academic excellence. But what if I told you that excellence
can be defined by you for you. It doesn't have
to be shipped by the world's view. What is the
definition of excellence by the Bible, excellence was used in
(01:31):
many different ways to describe people based on their attributes.
It was used to describe Daniel as someone with exceptional leadership, integrity, wisdom,
and insight. It was also used to describe Ruth as
a virtuous woman. Virtuous comes from the evil word ale,
which means strength, excellence, and wordiness. So excellence is not
(01:53):
one thing. It's not based on a single outcome. It's
part of your personality personified. Excellence isn't about perfection or performance.
It's part of all God made you to be. And
so when I'm talking about the excellent spirit today, I
want you to look at what you're doing, look at yourself,
and look at some areas in your life where you're
(02:14):
already operateed excellently well. And I'm using the phrase excellently
well intentionally because sometimes we compare our outcomes to what
others are doing, and we don't see our work as
excellent simply because there are areas of our life we're
still figuring out. But that doesn't take away your excellence
because you were made in God's image. Even the little
(02:34):
things you do well reflect excellence. One key actual would
have Daniel that enabled him to be excellent is that
he prayed to God every single time. He did not
attempt to be excellent on his own. In Daniel Too,
Daniel prayed for the revelation of Nippocadneza's dream and it
got the interpretation. This saved the lives of others and
(02:57):
his friends. So one question for you today, have you
found yourself in a situation where you feel like there
is a problem within your walk space with no solution,
or you're trying to solve different issues with your own power.
Have you prayed to God about it? Have you asked
God to help you solve that problem. I remember years
ago when I faced off coding problems. I would trouble
(03:19):
shoot and search online like usual and would come up
with no solutions. But I eventually found and discovered something
that became a constantine how I solved problems going forward.
I'll start playing a song and singing along, and almost
immediately I will receive solution to the problem. This happened
so many times that it then became an abbit for me.
(03:40):
One song that I would use constantly was onshao by
Natennial Bassie. It was a means of prayer for me.
It pressed God and achnowledging as the God of wonders,
and it helped and show I got my solution. And
me saying this used to happen doesn't mean it doesn't
happen anymore. I've just found a different way of accident
and praying. Now. I also simply just say, Holy Spirit,
(04:02):
help me. I am stock and I see him do wonders.
So if you're stuck in your work and your business
in any era of your life, all you just need
to do is acts. Matthew seven seventy eight says, acts,
and it will be given to you sick, and you
will find uck, and it will be open to you
for everyone whill asks received and equal six fines, and
(04:24):
to hearim who knocks, it will be open. The most
important part of being excellent is actioning God for excellence,
accing him for the ability to do what you're trying
to do, and to help you solve the problem. Jeremiah
thirty three says, call to me, and I will answer
you and show you great and mighty things which you
(04:46):
do not know. Let's talk about another side of excellence,
growth and taking action. We often want more one, more promotions, money, opportunities,
and we sometimes don't want to put the work. But
God expects both fate and action. Matthia twenty five fourteen
to thirty talks about the parable of the talents. The
(05:10):
savant who eat is talent and did nothing with it
was rebuilket. It says, the Master said, you weakhed and
Lizzy's servant. You ought to have deposited my money with
the bankers, and on my coming I would have received
back interest. The Bible also says whatever you find yourself doing,
do it well. This also means that the knowledge you've
(05:31):
acquired to do what you're doing now may not be
the same knowledge you need to do the same thing
in a year's time. You have to constantly grow, and
to grow you need to give time to learn it.
It means you have to be ready to embrace new
ways of doing things. You need to go out there
sick knowledge and find what will help you constantly grow
(05:53):
and remain excellent, so that you can stay ahead rather
than feeling pushed out. The world is first, nothing remains constant,
and if you stay where you are today two years
from now without adapting or learning new things, the likely
old is that you will still be in the same spot.
Either someone will come and do it better, someone will
(06:14):
build a business that does it better, and that often
means you then feel like you have a competition. We
have to be willing to adjust, learn and improve. This
applies to business, to walk to everything in life. Everything changes,
and how you apply yourself matters. How you learn matters.
(06:34):
This doesn't mean you shouldn't leave a stress free life.
This doesn't mean you shouldn't relax. It just means that
you have to find the balance. You have to find
the time to do everything you want to do, to learn,
and then to also relax. I'm saying this to myself
as well, because sometimes we think we're too busy and
don't have time. But the truth is there is time
(06:57):
if you learn to manage it. One thing I've been
doing with is if I find that my plate is
to full and I don't have time, I pass an
ask Oly Spirit help me what should I do now?
What should I do later? I can tell you asking
the Holy Spirit has been incredibly helpful. It has lifted
the weight of me. I also use my to do
(07:17):
list as well with this. I used to do a
lot of to do lists, and I would do it
and then band on it, and then combat to it
and then bandon it. But the constant now that has
really helped me stay to it is acting for help.
If someone had told me years ago that I'll be
doing a podcast, I would have said I don't have
time for that. Yet here I am excellent. Spirit doesn't
(07:39):
wait to be told what to do. This doesn't mean
you don't need people or direction at work. Or you
can be the inventor of a solution that doesn't exist yet.
You can be the person what to meet that manual process.
Sometimes they say, well, it's not my company, I don't
have to do anything extra. But did you know Research
shows that people who get more promotions and rewards go
(08:02):
beyond just excelling at what they are taught to do.
They focus on strategic excellence. Operative Executive Board study of
twenty thousand employees across thirty global organizations found that high
performance top five to ten percent were three times more
likely to be promoted than average performance within it two
years span. High performance was defined not just by output,
(08:26):
but by impact on companies, priorities, and company's priorities could
mean cost savings, innovations, growth, and initiatives. In other words,
excelling at writings matter. Another study of five thousand managers
show that employees who identify and solve problems are cut
across teams or processes were two zero point five times
(08:46):
more likely to be promoted than peers as simply execute
tax efficiently. I also tie this to times when work
is slow, sometimes during downtime. Use it for leisure, which
is good, enjoy it. Or you can also use that
time to improve yourself, your work, or your company's processes.
This doesn't mean you shouldn't take breaks, please do. Your
(09:08):
body needs rest. However, when you find yourself idle, think
of situations at work where you've wished someone will fix
a problem that adds stress to your work. What if
that person is you figure out how to make it better.
Imagine two years from now someone comes in and does
the very thing you had an idea for. You'll feel unhappy. Also, remember,
(09:29):
employers don't hire because they have figured everything out. The
hire open that you help them reach the next level.
That's why companies that constantly innovate often do so because
people inside the companies keep bringing new ideas, why not you?
The reason why the savant with one talent did not
(09:49):
increase that talent was because he felt like his master
would be ripping where it did not so, which is
why some people would often say, well, if I innovate,
my company gets to rip of that benefit. But that's
why he ended up being rebuilt. Ecclesiasis ten eighteen says
because of laziness, the building decayse and true idleness of hands,
(10:14):
the house leaks. If everyone in a company is not
thinking of growth, then the building would eventually fall. The
company would eventually fall. Perhaps six sixty eleven says this
as well. And if the company falls, it means people
lose their jobs. It means people would not have a
means or survival. The spirit of excellence doesn't mean you
(10:38):
have to be perfect. Sometimes you wait for things to
be perfect before putting them out into the world, and
that delays outcomes and keeps ideas hidden. It applies to
business ideas too. What if your idea was meant to
help someone? You can start with the little you have
little becomes much in God's and share it with people
(10:58):
around you. There are also many ways to get funding,
but some ideas don't even need funding, just your willingness
to start. Philippians four thirteen reminds us I can do
all things true Christ, who strengthens me. If God gave
you that idea, it will strenthing you to achieve it.
All you need to do is acts. We're created not
(11:19):
to live in isolation or rely on ourselves alone. God
is waiting for you to act him, and when you do,
it will help you. We've all been given the gift
of choice. But if you don't ask, you won't receive.
But if you asks, you would receive. The excellent spirit
also takes feedback. Sometimes we think feedback is a personal attack,
(11:42):
but constructive feedback builds us up. Perhaps nine it says,
do not correct is co far lesie hate you. Rebuke
a wise man and it will love you. Perhaps what
one says whether loves instructions loves knowledge, but I X
correction is stupid probably nineteen verse twenty, perhaps fifteen thirty
(12:05):
one to thirty two, perhaps eleven verse fourteen. They all
elaborate on this as well. Feedback builds you up, not
tear you down. The final aspect of excellence that I
would like to share in this episode is sharing knowledge.
In my world, it's common to see people with a
lot of knowledge refuse to share it because they fear
(12:27):
someone else might take their job. But your knowledge is
your power. Sharing it doesn't diminish you. It multiplies your value.
If there is knowledge you have that others lack, share
it because it makes you more valuable. Perhaps nine verse
nine does say, is give instructions to a wise man,
and it will be wiser teach a just man, and
(12:49):
it would increase in knowledge. Perhaps fifteen seven says the
leaves of the wise sharing knowledge, but the heart of
the fool does not do so. Se Continulti two verse two,
Collotions three verse sixteen, and first bit of four vers
tend even elaborate further on this as well. Knowledge is
what made the Bible from the Old Testament to the
(13:10):
New Testament. If people hadn't shared what they knew, we
wouldn't have the Scripture today. The knowledge you share gives
others the ability to excel, and when you build O
us up to succeed, you've succeeded as well, even when
you don't get to thank you or the shadow Jesus
is the perfect example of knowledge sharing. It came and
(13:31):
he shared the knowledge of our authority, of the power
we have in God. He shared with his disciples, oh
in turn shared their knowledge. Matthia twenty eight nineteen twenty
talks about Jesus telling his disciples God there for and
make disciples of all nations, it says, teaching them to
observe all the same things I have commanded you and
(13:53):
told you. What I find when I share knowledge is
that I actually end up learning more as well, which
then makes me valuable. So your value doesn't diminish because
you share knowledge. Instead, it increases because someone else has
been built up based on your knowledge. So if you
have a business, share your knowledge, you can share them
(14:14):
tips on how you grow or your business you can
share the tips on how you solve some problems. If
no one has given you the shout out or kudos
for sharing, and that might have also held you back
from sharing. Father and giving you that shout out today,
thank you for sharing. Matthew five fourteen to sixteen says
you are the light of the world. Cities that is
(14:35):
set on a ill cannot be eaten. Nor do they
light a lamp and put it under a basket, put
on a lamp stand and it gives light to all
wine in the house. So let your light show shine
before men, that they may see the good works and
glorify your Father in heaven. Iide knowledge is like putting
(14:56):
light under a basket. It defeats its paper. People are
waiting for your light to shine. Excellence isn't just about
what you keep, It's also about what you give. I
want to remind you that you were made in an
image and likeness of God. That means you are excellent.
You are a chosen generation. You are a God's special person,
(15:19):
and he loves you. That brings us to the end
of our topic today. If during this episode you felt
a yearning or a pull to know more about God,
I invite you to ask him into your life. God
sent his son Jesus so that we can have an
example of our power and authority in him. And you
(15:39):
can pray this fear with me if you're ready to
accept Christ. It's a lot of Jesus. I believe that
you are the son of God. I confess that I
am a sinner, and I ask for your forgiveness. I
believe you died on the cross from my sins and
rose again, giving me victory of a sin and dead today,
I accept you as my Lord and say, come in
(16:00):
to my heart, guide my life, and help me leave
according to your will. Thank you for saving me and
giving me intern of life in Jesus name. Amen. If
you pray this prayer, please look for a Bible, believe
in church, and continue to learn more. God loves you.
Thank you for listening and if you like this episode,
(16:21):
please share with your friends, calllleagues, family, and everyone around you. Also,
watch out for next episode. I'm looking forward to sharing
more with you. It's your girl, Ebisola signing out.
