Catholic Daily Readings and Reflection for July 21, 2025 – Monday of the Sixteenth Week in Ordinary Time
Theme: Faith that Moves Without Full Proof

Why do we still hesitate to trust, even after all God has done?

Today’s readings expose the trap of spiritual paralysis—when faith demands certainty and signs before moving forward.

  • In Exodus, the Israelites panic at the Red Sea after witnessing ten plagues and miraculous freedom. They want new proof that God is still with them, forgetting His track record.

  • In the Gospel, the Pharisees ask Jesus for a sign—not out of hunger for truth, but resistance to it. Jesus responds with a piercing indictment: others responded to far less evidence with far more faith.

  • The Psalm (Exodus 15) is a victory song celebrating what happens after God acts—but it reminds us that the victory was only visible after trust was tested.

This reflection calls out the inner voice that says, “I’ll trust You, God… after You prove Yourself again.”

Exodus 14:5–18
