Photographs another day to miss ago.

Speaker 1 (00:47):
Gentlemen, we are placed with a crisis. We're in dire
need of funds, and we shall acquire said funds from
the Wentworth Diamonds net procket to us a half.

Speaker 3 (00:57):
Million dollars rock too hot to the main stone. Yes,
we have no interest in that.

Speaker 1 (01:03):
We shall acquire our revenue from the two dozen smaller
stones of the Wentworth collection.

Speaker 2 (01:08):
Uh, we gonna take it out at Lady Wentworth's home.

Speaker 1 (01:10):
Lady Wentworth has only a paste copy of the diamonds
in her name. The real diamonds are in the National Vaults.
At eight o'clock tomorrow morning, the diamonds are to be
transferred by armored truck from the National Vaults for two
weeks display at the Manchester Museum. It is there that
we appropriate them.

Speaker 2 (01:28):
Are the heavily guarded at the museum.

Speaker 3 (01:30):
Won't they?

Speaker 1 (01:30):
You will hire a dozen of the city's most capable
trigger men.

Speaker 3 (01:33):
They'll be paid well, I get it. You will leave
the operations, mister ra Adams.

Speaker 1 (01:38):
Six guards will stand in our way. The two at
the front door will be subdued at trigger points. The
two at the entrance to the gallery in which the
Wentworth collection is being displayed may have to be rendered unconscious.
The other two, the other two will be guarding the
Wentworest diamonds.

Speaker 3 (01:55):
They are to be killed.

Speaker 2 (01:57):
When do you plan to do this?

Speaker 3 (01:58):
I'll inform you of the exact day and time of day.

Speaker 1 (02:01):
In the meantime, you'll study these maps and photographs at
the Manchester Museum.

Speaker 3 (02:06):
Oh oh, oh, one more the more.

Speaker 1 (02:08):
Yes, We now come to that portion of our plans
which involves the person known as Boston Blackie.

Speaker 3 (02:20):
And.

Speaker 1 (02:28):
I'll meet Richard Calmer as Boston Blackie. Enemy to those
who make him an enemy, friend to those who.

Speaker 4 (02:34):
Have no friends, like walking in the rain Blackie.

Speaker 2 (02:45):
That's a leading question.

Speaker 4 (02:46):
Where does it lead?

Speaker 2 (02:47):
Well? Right now, Mary, around the corners of your apartment.

Speaker 5 (02:50):
Okay, Oh, it's been a wonderful leady, Yeah, I hope
the three of us enjoyed.

Speaker 6 (02:56):
It, the three of its sure.

Speaker 2 (02:59):
You and I am the man has been following us.

Speaker 4 (03:01):
Someone's following that's why.

Speaker 2 (03:03):
Never had a man follow you before?

Speaker 3 (03:04):
Oh?

Speaker 6 (03:05):
Did you see someone?

Speaker 2 (03:06):
Yes? What do we do keep talking. That's what h
what any think? Tell me a funny story, A funny story,
so when I get through it, and this guy following us,
we'll have something to laugh about.

Speaker 5 (03:16):
All right.

Speaker 2 (03:17):
After we turn this corner here, I'll stop, but you
go ahead, cut across the grass and keep talking all
the time. Here's the corner. I'll keep going. I'll hug
the wall and get this follow as he goes by.

Speaker 4 (03:28):
What if he puts up a fight, not.

Speaker 2 (03:30):
The only thing he'll get to put up is a squawk,
and keep on talking. I stop here. Wish me luck
I do.

Speaker 5 (03:38):
It was really the funniest thing that's happened to be
in weeks back. Either telephone rang about seven o'clocks this morning,
and a squeaky little.

Speaker 4 (03:44):
Boy asked for Ozzie.

Speaker 2 (03:47):
All right, you reach chi bos don't don't shoot it's
me Shorty. Well what wait a minute, hey, Mary, come
on back. It's all right. As a friend of mine,
I've been telling you all life.

Speaker 7 (03:56):
Boyscha, I gotta talk here, but not with a day.

Speaker 2 (03:59):
But I can't since one of you turned girls shy.
This is Mary Wesley, Shorty married. This is Shorty. You know, Palamine,
how do you do?

Speaker 7 (04:07):
Boss? I gotta talk here and where nobody can see.

Speaker 5 (04:09):
What if you two want to talk, you can come
up to my apartment.

Speaker 8 (04:11):
The next boss that there's gotta be private.

Speaker 7 (04:14):
Confirmed.

Speaker 2 (04:14):
Come on, shorty, it's all right. Mary doesn't talk And
besides she makes good coffee.

Speaker 1 (04:24):
Oh hey, boss, you're right, it's your person.

Speaker 7 (04:29):
This is a good coffee.

Speaker 2 (04:30):
I'll right, are you about this frame? That's what I
like to know.

Speaker 7 (04:33):
Well, I told you all I know, Blackie. That's all
I know.

Speaker 8 (04:36):
A high class operator is gonna snatch the went White
diamonds from the Manchester Museums.

Speaker 2 (04:40):
And you got it straight from one of the hoods
who was hired as a trigger man.

Speaker 7 (04:43):
Well from a guy who knew a guy who was hired.

Speaker 4 (04:45):
But I don't understand how they're going to involve.

Speaker 6 (04:46):
You, Blankie.

Speaker 2 (04:47):
Well plan seems to be this the dress one of
the gunmen to look like me. He'll be called Blackie
several times during the whole up.

Speaker 8 (04:58):
Yeah, and they figured or not go off a couple
of gods se so Blackie'll get wrapped by the cops
from ter and then to since you, they're planting the
big went Boy diamond in Blackie's apartment is is this
really true?

Speaker 2 (05:09):
Probably, but that doesn't mean it's gonna work.

Speaker 6 (05:11):
Oh what are you going to do?

Speaker 2 (05:12):
I don't know. I don't know when they're planning the robbery,
so I don't know when to make sure to have
an alibi. This is cute.

Speaker 4 (05:20):
Well, why don't you try calling INSPECTU.

Speaker 2 (05:21):
Said, When I want somebody to laugh at me, I'll
tell jokes.

Speaker 4 (05:24):
Oh please, Blackie, Please, it's the smartest thing.

Speaker 2 (05:28):
What'll make you happy? All right? I've always wanted a
legitimate excuse to wake Paraday in the middle of the night. Anyway, Oh,
he'll listen to you.

Speaker 6 (05:39):
I just know it.

Speaker 2 (05:41):
Like I listened to Opera. Saraday is probably snoring so
loud that he was love Saraday. This is your old pal, Blackie. Blackie,
what's the idea of calling me up this time of night?
It wasn't a matter of sleeping, beauty, were you're dreaming?
You had the goods on me to last?

Speaker 1 (05:59):
Did you call me up to make jokes?

Speaker 5 (06:01):
Blackie?

Speaker 2 (06:01):
Because if you did that, No, listen, inspect then listen Captain,
I've listening.

Speaker 1 (06:05):
To anything from you.

Speaker 9 (06:06):
Go to bed and let me get some sleep.

Speaker 2 (06:07):
Wait, Saturday, Saturday, you came up. Well, it didn't exactly
invite me over for a midnight snack.

Speaker 7 (06:14):
O Street, Boss, Now, what are we doing?

Speaker 6 (06:17):
I know what you're going to do, Blackie?

Speaker 4 (06:19):
Leave town?

Speaker 7 (06:19):
Yeah, yeah, the Lady's right, Bossy.

Speaker 8 (06:21):
You can't have no alibi two weeks long in this time.

Speaker 5 (06:24):
But if you just lamb out of town for.

Speaker 2 (06:26):
Two weeks, I wouldn't like to take it on the
chin anymore than anybody else. But I'm not going to
take it on the lamb. Oh.

Speaker 5 (06:30):
I know what you're thinking, Donning. It's running away and
you don't wanna run away.

Speaker 7 (06:34):
But please, Blackie, please do with me.

Speaker 2 (06:37):
Mm I must be getting soft.

Speaker 6 (06:39):
Well, it's the thing you're gonna do, boss, for the lady.

Speaker 7 (06:42):
Street.

Speaker 5 (06:42):
Now, I'll get your train or plane reservations. You go
to your apartment with Shorty and I'll phone you there.

Speaker 2 (06:46):
I don't know why I'm doing this. I guess those
looks of you are sure pack a walla.

Speaker 6 (06:51):
Never mind my look, you just see it with a
que pack a bag.

Speaker 2 (07:01):
Uh?

Speaker 7 (07:02):
How many shorts do you want in a suitcase?

Speaker 6 (07:04):
Boss?

Speaker 1 (07:04):
Oh?

Speaker 2 (07:05):
I don't know. Gosh, I wish that Chicago call would
come in. Oh, well, Shorty, is there something that maybe
you haven't told me yet. For instance, what time tomorrow
are the diamonds being taken from the National vasse to
the museum?

Speaker 7 (07:18):
Seven o'clock to the be in a museum at eight?
See an armored car is picking 'em up?

Speaker 2 (07:23):
No chance they intend to steal them more root, they're
too well guarded than a normand car.

Speaker 7 (07:28):
Gee, boss, how.

Speaker 8 (07:29):
Do you know the diamonds would be picked up with
the National vaults instead of Lady went Boy's house.

Speaker 2 (07:33):
Lady Wentworth wears only paste copies if they went Worth diamonds,
the real ones have always been in a vault.

Speaker 7 (07:39):
Gee, you know everything?

Speaker 2 (07:41):
Vorce, Well, I know I'm in the clear. All those
stones get to the museum at eight tomorrow morning. Hm,
this is probably my Chicago call.

Speaker 2 (07:50):

Speaker 5 (07:51):

be out of town before tomorrow.

It's one thirty.

Speaker 1 (10:06):
The men are here at this moment, a mile and
a half south of the museum. In fifteen minutes, the
first of them will enter the museum and take their places.
In thirty minutes, they'll all be over. You're smiling, yes,

Speaker 2 (10:33):
Do I have a choice?

Speaker 3 (10:34):
Not for the present?

Speaker 1 (10:36):
That'll be all done right.

Speaker 3 (10:38):
I'm Roger Farling.

Speaker 1 (10:40):
This is miss Hazel out and my secondary Hazel, the
famous Boston Blackeye.

Speaker 5 (10:45):
How do you do?

Speaker 2 (10:46):
How are you? You know why you're here? Not to
play house? When do my teeth start chattering?

Speaker 1 (10:53):
In exactly twenty two minutes, men in my employer are
going to steal and went With diamonds from the Manchester
Museum and inadvertently kill two of the gods. One of
the gunmen will be referred to.

Speaker 3 (11:03):
By the others as Blackie.

Speaker 2 (11:07):
You begin to see seeing his little habit I picked
up some time.

Speaker 1 (11:10):
Ago planned if you probably know, the main Wentworth diamond
is too distinctive to be of value to any.

Speaker 3 (11:16):
One other than its rightful owner.

Speaker 1 (11:18):
So so one of my associates is placing it in
your apartment shortly after the robbery, then informing the police
of its whereabouts. You will be forced to remain here
until it is found. You understand perfectly, you know something, Blacke.

Speaker 3 (11:35):
Nothing disturbs you. I'd like to have you on my side.

Speaker 2 (11:39):
You want me on your sign, believe me, farming you'd
be more comfortable with a cute appendicitis one of the first.

Speaker 1 (11:52):
This way I displayed the Wentworth diamonds. A couple of
the curse driver acurs the straight boy.

Speaker 3 (12:00):
He should be coming to the front.

Speaker 1 (12:01):

of guard to pta. Go ahead and do your stuff,

Oh this wait, Blacky in here, come on, getting Blacky over.

Speaker 1 (12:12):
This way, Blacky, get those two gods, come down, cut
him out.

Speaker 7 (12:16):
I got the diamond let's go.

Speaker 3 (12:17):
I shoot him Blackie?

Speaker 7 (12:18):
Can I shoulting host?

Speaker 9 (12:19):
God never know what hit him?

Speaker 1 (12:31):
Parady.

Speaker 5 (12:32):
This is Mary Wesley.

Speaker 2 (12:34):
Yeah, you remember me? Talk you?

Speaker 1 (12:35):
Oh, I remember all of Boston Blackie's friends, so I
can identify him when we pull him out of the river.
What do you want?

Speaker 5 (12:42):
I talked to Blackie on the phone at ten o'clock
this morning. We will cut off. I haven't heard him since.

Speaker 2 (12:46):
Oh, don't let that surprise me.

Speaker 5 (12:47):
I had a date with him at four o'clock and
he didn't show up. I'm worried about it.

Speaker 1 (12:50):
I think you should be.

Speaker 2 (12:53):
Plenty.

Speaker 1 (12:55):
I hope you like music, Missus Wesley, because you're playing
second fiddle to the Wentworth Diamonds Blackie Storre on this afternoon.
Now back to our story.

Speaker 3 (13:16):
When we left Boston, Blackie he.

Speaker 1 (13:17):
Was, to all appearances, hopelessly victimized by Roger Farthing's plan
to frame him for the theft of the Wentworth diamonds
and the murder of the two museum guards as provided
in Farthing's plans, The police have been notified that the
main Wentworth diamond is in Blackie's apartment, and as we
continue our story, Inspector Paraday knocks on Blackie's door. Oh

(13:38):
j Blackie, come on, open up in there, open up
all right, White Specker. Okay, shorty, go and get back
in the apartment. Where's Blackie? Where's the Wentworth diamond?

Speaker 7 (13:51):
The went White diamond?

Speaker 2 (13:52):
Sucker?

Speaker 1 (13:53):
Surety? The only time you look smart is when you're
trying to look dumb.

Speaker 7 (13:56):
Oh gee, thanks, sit down.

Speaker 1 (13:58):
Over there and behave yourself.

Speaker 2 (14:00):
You're gonna look around for that dime.

Speaker 7 (14:01):
I inspected it right now. Jewel around here in that
drawer anywhere else?

Speaker 1 (14:05):
Not only do the entire Wentworth collection, I killed two guards.
And you can't get out of a rap like that
with a suspended sentence.

Speaker 2 (14:13):
Uh nothing in the here.

Speaker 8 (14:17):
Maybe this drawer, look, Inspector, I can tell you the
whole thing from the beginning.

Speaker 1 (14:21):
If you'll believe me, Yeah, Blacky rehearsal.

Speaker 7 (14:24):
Look, do you remember when Blacky was.

Speaker 2 (14:26):
The jewel wasn't here?

Speaker 3 (14:27):
I'm what's this?

Speaker 2 (14:29):
A kid's marble?

Speaker 7 (14:30):
Geez? He did rock Struck more sparkle than a print wheel.

Speaker 1 (14:34):
Yes, this is the Wentworth diamond all right? Now what
you do with the smaller ones?

Speaker 6 (14:38):
You mean?

Speaker 7 (14:38):
Do you mean there's more?

Speaker 1 (14:39):
You know?

Speaker 2 (14:40):
There are more all around here? Something? Oh, someone's coming
down the hall. It's probably Blacky.

Speaker 7 (14:45):
Turn out the lights.

Speaker 2 (14:47):
Turn out those lights, Yes, sir, this's gonna be wonderfully.

Speaker 3 (14:55):
Wise guy knocking on his own door is in the
signal to you don't mean nothing to me. I'll open it, slacky,
are you?

Speaker 2 (15:05):
Oh, miss Wesley, it's you.

Speaker 6 (15:07):
It's Blackie here.

Speaker 2 (15:09):
Turn on the light.

Speaker 7 (15:09):
Surely, oh, sure thing, I'm as worthy.

Speaker 6 (15:11):
Surely?

Speaker 5 (15:11):
Where is it?

Speaker 6 (15:12):
What happened to him?

Speaker 2 (15:13):
Didn't he meet?

Speaker 10 (15:14):
You know?

Speaker 5 (15:15):
And when he called me we would cut off. I
don't know what happened.

Speaker 1 (15:17):
Gee, I'll tell you to make yourself comfortable, because we're
gonna wait right here for Blackie.

Speaker 7 (15:23):
Gee, inspector, I think your way off.

Speaker 2 (15:24):
Base, you think so, huh?

Speaker 1 (15:26):
But we're waiting here all night if we have to,
because with miss Wesley here, I'll guarantee Blackie thinks there's
no base like home.

Speaker 7 (15:40):
Mister Farthing, Oh.

Speaker 3 (15:43):
Ah, must have fallen. See this'll sleep well? You release
Parson Jacky.

Speaker 1 (15:48):
Yeah, before very long we shall hear that he's been
picked up a robbery and murder, and tomorrow morning I
shall have in my hands twenty four of the most
precious diamonds.

Speaker 2 (15:57):
In the world.

Speaker 6 (15:58):
Tomorrow morning, mister father, you mean this morning?

Speaker 3 (16:00):
Oh? It is quite late, isn't it.

Speaker 2 (16:02):
Yeah, I med mine.

Speaker 3 (16:03):
I suggest you go to the old room and wry
to sleep. Hazelon.

Speaker 1 (16:06):
If you are addicted to dreams, my dear, the chance
you can dream of the crimes so perfect that it
cost nothing but the life of Boston black.

Speaker 7 (16:20):
She inspected. Still men in the morning. Oh when did
we get out of here?

Speaker 10 (16:24):
Huh?

Speaker 1 (16:25):
When I say, you don't not before? So don't keep asking.
Oh as a key in the door, it's probably Blacky Clan,
very sure, thank you, but hold it wrecking.

Speaker 2 (16:36):
Oh, inspected? Do you have to turn up? When I
feel refreshed and happy?

Speaker 1 (16:40):
One?

Speaker 2 (16:40):
Look at you when I'm twenty years older.

Speaker 1 (16:42):
You're not gonna live twenty years waking. What they do
to you for murder in this state isn't good for
your health.

Speaker 2 (16:46):
What did I do? Kill one of your jokes? You
kill two gods at the Manchester Museum yesterday. Don't be
a fool, Paraday. I was near the Manchester Museum when
those gods were killed.

Speaker 1 (16:55):
And where did you get this diamond? I found in
your drawer at the five and ten? I could get
one like that off a chandelier, Inspector. That's a phony.
That's the central diamond from the Wentworth collection, and you
know it.

Speaker 2 (17:06):
I don't even know that the diamonds were stolen. What
for all I know they're still in the Manchester Museum,
just where they ought to be.

Speaker 1 (17:14):
Sometimes I think you ought to have your head examined.
There are witnesses who saw you there. I find a
diamond in your apartment and you tell me the Wentworth
jewels are still in the museum.

Speaker 2 (17:23):
Come on, what did you do with the smaller stones? Mary?
Call the museum? Will you sure the phone numbers Plaza
three nine sixty one three. That kind of a stall
isn't gonna get you anywhere, Blackie.

Speaker 1 (17:33):
Forget about that phone call, Miss Weidzes, make it merry
and don't be a dope.

Speaker 2 (17:36):
Paraday. Wait a minute, Uh tell the museum you're calling
for inspector Paraday. All right, I'm not gonna wait around
for any phone call. Where would you like to meet
this inspector at the Ritz or the Rooney?

Speaker 1 (17:47):
Very funny, Blackie, but I don't need a phone call
to prove those diamonds were stolen.

Speaker 2 (17:52):
I got one of them right in my hand roll
that stone out inspector, and it did make a nice
window paying.

Speaker 6 (17:57):
Hell a Manchester museum. I'm calling it to inspected Paraday.

Speaker 4 (18:01):
Yet of bleak headquarters.

Speaker 2 (18:04):
They don't even know your pow Ye a.

Speaker 5 (18:06):
Minute, he wants to talk to you.

Speaker 2 (18:07):
In second, Yeah, we didn't know who I was.

Speaker 3 (18:09):
Huh give me that.

Speaker 1 (18:10):
People don't know when you want the Wentworth diamonds are
in their display case?

Speaker 5 (18:19):
What sure?

Speaker 2 (18:21):
Sure, I'll be right down. I told you the diamonds
were right where they belonged for a day. Have a
nice tripped down there, Mary and I are gonna have
some breakfast, you too, shorty.

Speaker 1 (18:28):
Come on just a minute, Blankie. I don't fall for
you any tricks this easy. I'm going down to have
a look at those jewels. All right, but you're going
with me. Here are the diamonds, Inspector, just as they
were before the robbery.

Speaker 2 (18:44):
I don't understand it, but here they are.

Speaker 1 (18:47):
Although I know these aren't phony, I beg your pardon, Inspector,
but I'm an expert in such matters.

Speaker 2 (18:52):
What about this diamond in my hand, it's paste.

Speaker 1 (18:56):
And what's this gag about the jewels being stolen two
guards killed.

Speaker 2 (19:00):
It's all very true, Inspector.

Speaker 1 (19:02):
But this morning, when I came into the museum, here
were the diamonds, just as they were before the unfortunate incident.

Speaker 2 (19:08):
It's amazing, Happy Friday.

Speaker 1 (19:10):
All the diamonds are here, all but one small stone.
But we are so happy to have the other diamond return.
We aren't terribly concerned. Well, I'm concerned, especially about those
two murdered gods.

Speaker 2 (19:22):
I'll tell you where you can find that missing stone.
Faraday and the man responsible for the death of the
two gods in your apartment No. In room nine on nine,
and the once in a hotel in the handkerchief pocket
of a friend of mine.

Speaker 3 (19:34):
Lackie.

Speaker 2 (19:35):
You're getting deeper and deeper into this every minute. I'll
be in plenty deeper. If a certain party had a
cold last night. A diamond that size is nothing to
sneeze at his room nine on nine.

Speaker 3 (19:51):
Whose room is this?

Speaker 2 (19:52):
You'll see? Yes, well, beautiful, what do you want in?
Come on, inspected.

Speaker 7 (19:58):
I'm with him.

Speaker 3 (20:00):
That's your way in here.

Speaker 2 (20:00):
I seemed welcome enough here yesterday it was Farthing. Don't talk, beautiful.
He's in their inspector common.

Speaker 7 (20:08):
Mister Parling is the police.

Speaker 2 (20:09):
What's the meaning of You two know each other, don't you? Hello, Farthing?
I didn't know you were in town.

Speaker 3 (20:15):
Oh, good mornings, Veger.

Speaker 1 (20:16):
I was just in town for the day on a
buying good buying diamonds. Inspector, diamond for free. Look at
his handkerchief pocket, Farling. I'm in no mood for practical jokes, gentlemen.

Speaker 3 (20:27):
I'm a business appointment that you.

Speaker 2 (20:29):
May have to reach inside for the stone, Paraday. The
handkerchief may not pour it out. We'll see what put
on the desk, Inspector.

Speaker 1 (20:37):
Looks like a diamond to me, Farthing. If this is
from the Wentworth collection, I'm arresting you for murder.

Speaker 2 (20:44):
And Robert it's from the Wentworth collection, all right.

Speaker 1 (20:45):
From the looks of it, I'd say the same thing congratulations, Blackett.

Speaker 2 (20:49):
Farling, do you admit this is a Wentworth diamond?

Speaker 1 (20:51):
Twy see no reason why I shouldn't. You'll discover it
for yourself in you time.

Speaker 2 (20:56):
I know what.

Speaker 3 (20:56):
I'm beaten, but.

Speaker 7 (20:57):
I don't know how Mlie.

Speaker 2 (21:00):
Sorry, Farthing, that's a secret of the profession.

Speaker 3 (21:03):
If we of the same profession were alone.

Speaker 2 (21:06):
Same profession, don't flatter yourself, Farthing.

Speaker 3 (21:09):
Uh, inspector, would you be so kind?

Speaker 2 (21:12):
Let us have five minutes alone, Faurday. It's all right.

Speaker 1 (21:14):
I'm not the type to run away from anything once
I run into it. Then Darlie said, well it Blackie,
in hearing me outside the door, I guess it's okay.

Speaker 2 (21:24):
Five minutes, no more.

Speaker 6 (21:27):
To do.

Speaker 2 (21:28):
Thanks, you're a good spot, Farning. Uh sit right here.

Speaker 3 (21:34):
A gambler has to be a good spot.

Speaker 2 (21:36):
Yes, I guess it does.

Speaker 3 (21:37):
I'm amazed.

Speaker 7 (21:39):
How did you do it?

Speaker 2 (21:40):
Lay when the diamond in your pocket? It wasn't easy.
You didn't let me get close to you, but once
when I was here yesterday. Fortunately once was not.

Speaker 1 (21:50):
But that's watterly impossible. The diamonds were still in the
museum when you were here yesterday.

Speaker 2 (21:55):
That's where you're wrong. Farthing. The diamonds were never in
the museum, only a set of paste. I switched them
myself at the National Vaults eight o'clock yesterday morning.

Speaker 1 (22:04):
Maze, absolutly amazing.

Speaker 3 (22:06):
Tell me how well.

Speaker 2 (22:07):
The first thing I did was to borrow Lady Wentworth's
pace set. That was easy. Lady Wentworth is away. The
pace set is not locked up because it's worthless. Then
I hired an armored car. That act alone is no symbol.
Later it was simple enough for my friend Charlie Kingston
of Chicago. Yes, he hired an armored car for me
through his local office.

Speaker 3 (22:25):
How did you use this armored car?

Speaker 2 (22:27):
My friend Shorty and I addressed as bank guards and
went to the delivery entrance of the Vaults a little
before eight with the paste diamonds in a case, just
like the ones the real diamonds were in.

Speaker 3 (22:37):
I see.

Speaker 1 (22:37):
You stayed just inside the delivery entrance until the armored
truck came along, then then walked out with the paste
diamonds and.

Speaker 3 (22:44):
It gave them to the driver.

Speaker 2 (22:45):
Well, that was no problem. We weren't stealing anything, just
handing to the driver something he expected to get.

Speaker 3 (22:51):
So far, brilliant brilliant.

Speaker 2 (22:53):
And then what Then Shorty and I got our own
armored car from around the block, drove it to the
delivery entrance of the fault, and picked up the real
diamonds from the real bank guard. That was simple too,
because the bank guards expected to see an armored car
outside the delivery entrance. So a set of phonies, one
to the museum, and I kept the real set until
after your men robbed the museum. Then I broke into

(23:17):
the museum at night and delivered the real diamonds. That
is all except the one small stone which I have planted.

Speaker 3 (23:22):
On you absolutely bridget.

Speaker 2 (23:26):
Thanks, that's a lot coming from you under the circumstances.

Speaker 1 (23:29):
I am an artist in my way, Blackie, and you're
an artist in yours. There's one great pain to scoff
at the work of another because the other's artist lead
is superior to his own.

Speaker 2 (23:39):
Maybe you're not the artist you think for me? Why
do you say that the idea of involving me? It
seems to me that a good artist concentrates more on
the picture and a little less on the frame.

Speaker 5 (23:58):
Oh, Blackie, got those lovely diamonds in this window at
those engagement rings?

Speaker 6 (24:03):
Beautiful?

Speaker 2 (24:04):
Sure?

Speaker 6 (24:04):
I ooh, I, I'd love to have that one there,
you would well it. It might depend on who gave
it to me. Ooh, I might like.

Speaker 4 (24:14):
You to give me one some day.

Speaker 10 (24:16):
Except accept what Except I'd never be quite sure just
how you got it.

Speaker 7 (25:09):
