Speaker 1 (00:00):
All right, guys, we can get rolling. I think big
topic when I would hit with you, and but I
also hit with the team. Injuries are not the reason
that we lost. Others may talk about who we did
have and didn't have today, and I'm here to say
it doesn't matter who you have or who is out
when you don't give yourself a real chance at it.

(00:21):
From turnover margin to penalties to mistackles and drops. Dallas
beat us and we did. We beat ourselves as well,
and we're the ones that got ourselves into the hole.
We're the same ones that got to dig ourselves out.
But make no mistake, we're not playing to the standard
we've set and I dug ourselves into it, and so
we're the only ones that will dig ourselves out. I'm

(00:43):
sure you guys got questions regarding Jaden. We definitely wanted
it back in. He'll get an MRI on his hamstring tomorrow,
so I'll have a better update for you when I
visit with you guys in the afternoon. I just don't
want to say one way or another and I give
you accurate info on that. So I wanted to make
sure I was clear as we begin. But lots to
dig into and we play again in eight days. We

(01:05):
got a lot of things to get better at, and uh,
we're gonna work our ass off to do that.

Speaker 2 (01:09):
Did Dan with those big plays keep happening? How frustrating?
And first of all, why I guess, and then but
just how frustrating is that that game after game they
keep happening.

Speaker 1 (01:19):
Yeah, it's very frustrating. We're gonna look at everything, man,
we were going to look at everything to you know,
have the play that goes down the field and you
you know, throw over your head or a good battle
like I. I can live with that one. But the
ones of the big explosive plays that I can't put

(01:39):
my finger on, that's a lot for us to dig into.
If I had one specific reason I say this or this,
But uh, yeah, we got, like I said, a lot
to get better at. And it's definitely frustrating.

Speaker 2 (01:51):
With Jayden, could he if the score is closer? Would
he have gone back in? Did the score have anything
to do with him staying out?

Speaker 1 (01:56):
No, he definitely wanted to come back. But like I said,
I have a better sense for you guys for tomorrow,
I'll just be you know, guessing, and I don't I
don't want to do that. I'll give you updates as
soon as they can. When you say you look at everything,
you know, you've you've got your players, you're seeing what
they're doing.

Speaker 2 (02:13):
It's just when you look at guys and go, let
me make a move here, a change here, to see
if somebody else can do something different better.

Speaker 1 (02:20):
Yes, fair, I think that's what I want to dig
into to find and look at. That's all all things
to have a performance like that, chick. That's fair to
dig in and say, all right, what are the things
that need to be different and what are the things
that need to continue to improve upon? And uh, in

(02:40):
eight days we play again, and it has to be better, man.
That's that's my message. And so the adjustments, the changes
of things that we'll make, that's what I plan on doing.

Speaker 3 (02:51):
When you just look at the collective over these last
few weeks for the defense, is it execution, schemes, it coaching?
What do you what in your mind is the biggest
issue there?

Speaker 1 (03:00):
Yeah, I wish I could have one thing cause I
would say, okay, it's that And so I think you
probably heard me say it over the last year and
a half. Execution is players and coaches, and so that's
what we'll dial into to find are we putting the
guys in the right spot, are we you know, digging
into the right locations. Like as a coach, you always look,
all right, what's the right amount, what's too much? So

(03:21):
we got a lot to look into, you know, to
have an extra day to go a good bit of
it's going to be about us before we even begin
our preparation on Kansas City eight days from now. We
got a lot of things to improve upon. And uh,
that's also why I said it at the beginning of
the injuries are not the reason we lost. You know,
if you don't give yourself a real shot of things

(03:43):
to play it right, it just you know, you can't
give yourself a good, good game doing that.

Speaker 3 (03:48):
When the score got sort of out a hand in
the second half, what were the player's mindset from.

Speaker 2 (03:54):
Still into it?

Speaker 1 (03:55):
Yes, mad frustrated, all the emotions that you'd expect when
we're not hitting the mark. I like the group. I'm
asked them to look at themselves. Where are we at?
Where do they need to do better? Same thing with
the coaches, But you gotta look, it's got to come
from ourselves first. But yeah, there wasn't It wasn't a
spot on effort or that kind of thing. But in

(04:15):
terms of execution and plan to the standard that we want, Uh,
we're far below those standards that we've set for ourselves.

Speaker 3 (04:22):
Are you surprised at all kind of where things are at?

Speaker 1 (04:24):
Yes, very Yeah, you don't want one.

Speaker 3 (04:29):
You don't want to make injuries the reason.

Speaker 1 (04:32):
But go through Reta's and something in camp and all
of those things to get guys reps with each other,
and there were.

Speaker 3 (04:39):
No there were no receivers Jade's played with on a
regular basis.

Speaker 2 (04:43):
So at what point does that just become difficult to overcome?

Speaker 1 (04:48):
That's fair, it's a difficult one to overcome, but it
doesn't make up the whole margin to me where we
find our edges. We didn't run the ball as effectively
as I thought we could. Uh, that would help when
he gets into the play pass game. For things. We
knew there was a specific way for us to go
win this game when you're going into it, whether you're

(05:08):
shorthanded at one spot or another, and when it doesn't
go that way, obviously, it gets frustrating that going.

Speaker 2 (05:16):
Into like the specifics of beings injury. Do you know
what happened on that play if you had the conversations
to find into what change I guessnded to with I.

Speaker 1 (05:24):
I know it was hamstring, maybe felt it on the
play even prior. But as far as this specific play,
I don't have an update for it. I haven't seen
the film, but I'll be on with the Ace tomorrow
and I'll have a better assessment and give you evaluation
of what it was. And then what change after you
you repeat what changed for the offense after? Yeah? I

(05:50):
honestly I don't know. I don't have a but just
be bullshitn't you if I was the same this change
or that change. Like you know, we didn't hit the
mark in a lot of ways, and going in we,
like I said, we had a specific way if we
wanted to go play to go win it. And when
you don't do that, it's collective, it's not you know
about one.

Speaker 3 (06:10):
Yes, hey, coach, are they were there any moments today
where you kind of said I'm going to call plays
or I'm gonna make a decision on what's next or
what we do next? Does that happen?

Speaker 2 (06:24):
No?

Speaker 1 (06:24):
I I'm on the headsets on all phases and talking
through ideas and discussions, game management, all of it. So
I'm pretty talkative all the way throughout offensively when we
would go, when we wouldn't on some of the fourth downs,
defensively third downs, and some of the ideas to go.
But uh, like I said, when performances are like that,

(06:47):
that's you dig in and you find answers, and uh
that's what I intend on doing.

Speaker 2 (06:51):
Ya. How disappointing question was that series right before halftime too,
where you guys get back in and you get the
ball and then they go it on right time and score.

Speaker 3 (06:58):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (06:59):
Words cannot ex explain. I was hot.

Speaker 3 (07:05):
Do you have an update on Bobby Wagner?

Speaker 2 (07:06):
How did he come.

Speaker 3 (07:07):
Out of the game?

Speaker 1 (07:08):
Uh, no update from an injury standpoint on he or
any of the other guys. I think DA had missed
some so I just I'll be able to give you
a better assessment tomorrow. But at the end, we took
a few of the guys out, but it wasn't due
to injury on offense and on defense. I thought it
was at the point of no return, and uh, I
knew we had to dig in again and I didn't

(07:30):
wanna make an injury situation, worse of where we were,
So that was wasn't performance or any other factor in
that one. Nicki, alright, thanks everybody,
