Speaker 1 (00:00):
All right, we can get rolling. Things that I saw
from tonight.

Speaker 2 (00:04):
I was pleased to see the road energy throughout the
game that didn't change, didn't change when we were down
ten nothing or a head twenty to ten, and we
thought that would be a big deal for us coming
into it. My favorite part of the game was the
last drive. You know, to go six minutes and thirty
seconds at the end, that's a big deal for us
to have four minutes to be able to run the

(00:25):
ball and go finish. I thought some of the momentum
changing plays was Kwan on the force fumble on the
hit and Marshaan on the recovery and then Saint Marsteel
on the red zone interception. So to finish plus one,
we had one offensively that we gave up, but to
get the ball a few times that was big. And
I thought the complimentary football in the second half was

(00:45):
what we were looking for. Wasn't there at the very beginning.
I thought we had some self inflicted wounds. We had
a penalty on a special teams on a return. We
had just some ones that didn't quite nail it. So
those were the things that I was pleased about into
the game. So to get rolling with you guys.

Speaker 1 (01:02):
Wow.

Speaker 2 (01:06):
Yeah, we work hard on that space on the winning
time spot. But knowing that there was six minutes left,
could we extend some drives. We actually had you know,
some fouls to get back into some bad spots. But
I thought just staying consistent using clock when to stay
in bounds to go, we made a decision at the
end we would go for it, you know, for four
downs as opposed to if we didn't get it, at

(01:28):
least they'd have to you know, go ninety four or
ninety five yards. But to see us, you know, finish
at the end, that that's a big that's a big deal.

Speaker 1 (01:35):
Where did you see?

Speaker 2 (01:36):
I think, you know it's starting slow. I thought he
really showed a lot of pools. I thought he really
ripped the ball well one to Debo and specific I
thought one ripped inside to Zach to go. But the
best play I thought was the one deep ball on
the scene post to Luke. That was a big play
to go. But I thought, if you made good decisions tonight, John,

(01:57):
there was some times we you know, threw the ball
or got down and that was something that we had
talked about and worked on. So those are plays that
won't necessarily show up on the stat sheet, but to
me and to him knowing that that's a big deal
for us to play at our best.

Speaker 1 (02:13):
Obviously, James James to this team.

Speaker 2 (02:19):
I think he just has an X factor about him
on the third and fourth downs that you know he
can go create and make some plays the field post. Honestly,
the last play I thought he threw a fantastic pass
to Debo, So he has those spaces in him. It
was great to get him back out. It was gonna
be hard to keep him out tonight. Uh, you know,
coming back to this area where he grew up, you know,

(02:41):
not too far from here, and uh, you know where
his football career began. But I was pleased to see
us playing complimentary, especially the second half, although it started
not how we wanted in terms from a score standpoint.

Speaker 1 (02:54):
I thought the guys never.

Speaker 2 (02:55):
Changed the energy throughout and they came back, and I
thought the biggest difference was scoring at the end of
the half and then go and get the points at again.
So when you can lap somebody scoring and then go
back and start it again, that's a really.

Speaker 1 (03:07):
Big deal you did for rubble and portals.

Speaker 2 (03:12):
Yeah, I think it changed a lot, Nikki, honestly, like
it was the There was a nice tackle honestly by
uh Jeremy Reeves even prior to that, and we just
wanted to be the you know, could demonstrate our physicality
to go. But I thought that was kind of the shift,
that was the the thing that would change it. And
you don't know when that's gonna be. But it was
certainly such a good play by Kwan and marsh On

(03:34):
to get But we're a.

Speaker 1 (03:37):
Little I'd like to watch it.

Speaker 2 (03:44):
I wish I knew, because you know, going into it,
when I looked up and I said ten nothing, I
said shit.

Speaker 1 (03:51):
But it felt different.

Speaker 2 (03:53):
Our energy, our speed or although it was down, I
didn't feel the same.

Speaker 1 (03:58):
I don't know how to explain that exactly.

Speaker 2 (03:59):
The he just looked at the numbers and the score
might say that he had a nice scramble on the
first third down pressure that we had to go create it.
But Mike got a foul on the field goal. I thought,
al right, if we leave them the three there, so
we dug ourself a hole with some self inflicted wounds.
You have another foul on a kickoff return. So those
are the things I wanted to get corrected, and I

(04:20):
spoke to the team about at halftime.

Speaker 1 (04:22):
But uh, I liked.

Speaker 2 (04:23):
The energy Nikki that they sustained, you know, whether we
were down, whether we were ahead. We just didn't go
too far off of that. I don't know if i'd
repeat it in here, but it was a about being
the aggressor and uh going to play with that boldness
that we like. And uh that's what I expected us

(04:45):
to go do and we'd be offensively to go start
it off. So I thought that was a good big
way to start.

Speaker 1 (04:52):
We were.

Speaker 2 (04:57):
In terms of worry on the Yeah, we certainly weren't
pleased to be down. We were in this it's ironic
that we were in the same space and so for
us to be into that spot, I knew we'd fight back,
but we did have a different vibe about us of
coming on the road to have the energy we wanted
to make our plays.

Speaker 1 (05:15):
It didn't quite start like we want.

Speaker 2 (05:17):
We went down, they got a field goal and then
got into the score after the penalty and then three
and out, so it was like then we kind of
settled in, I felt like after that, but I thought.

Speaker 1 (05:28):
The turnover was the baby shift in the game. Why
why why were the different flos.

Speaker 2 (05:35):
I think it was intentional for us, John to make
sure that we wanted to come out and uh, you know,
play with the right attitude, the right you know, boldness
about how we would go through it. Uh, none of
us were pleased of how we started last week, and
so we wanted to make sure that it was an
attitude that we would would demonstrate right off the bat.

Speaker 1 (05:54):
So more UH bond a lot to that. He did.

Speaker 2 (06:04):
He did, and Uh, I thought it was it was
good for us and a shout out to Josh to
bring you know, allow us to bring the team out early, chick,
for us to come out have a practice out here
on Friday. You don't know when you need it, but
we needed our space together and so we came out.

Speaker 1 (06:20):
We practiced Thursday in Ashbourne.

Speaker 2 (06:22):
We flew out in the afternoon, got here late, had
a practice at the coliseum with just us and that
was important for us. Thought the guys played with speed,
played with execution. That was the best Friday practice of
the year so far. Thought that carried into the weekend. Uh,
of how we wanted to play. So for us to
get down ten nothing, I said, damn, you know, here
we are we hit all the spaces, but it didn't

(06:45):
feel in the same spot. Even though we were down,
I thought we'd come back and uh, we just need
to make our plays to go do that. So can
you can you start the first part? Lane?

Speaker 1 (07:04):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (07:05):
I thought he made some plays, and I, like I said, Nikki,
I was pleased to see him make some decisions that
may not show up on the stat sheet. You know,
when to get down, when to go, when to throw
it away, uh, and knowing when there were his chances
for him.

Speaker 1 (07:15):
To let it rip.

Speaker 2 (07:16):
He absolutely did that, none clearer than the one to
Luke and then the pass to Debot at the end.

Speaker 1 (07:22):
But uh, man de boy.

Speaker 2 (07:24):
Every time I see him, he's just such a relentless competitor.

Speaker 1 (07:27):
I love what he brings to the team. Oh, then
you have to do more. Yeah, I was pleased to
see him.

Speaker 2 (07:36):
Obviously he wants the one play back that he put
the ball on the ground, But in the passing game
and the running game, I really, you know, felt him
and so you had h kind of heard us say
that may happen when somebody you know is hot and
they'll take more reps to go. As it turns out,
you know, he had the most today and uh we'll

(07:57):
continue to.

Speaker 1 (07:57):
Build and see where we take it from here.

Speaker 2 (07:59):
But be it more effective you can run it than
the play passes come alive, and uh it's a big
deal for us, alright, Thanks everybody, safe trip, safe travels.
