Speaker 1 (00:00):
Hey there, Josh, so rookie mini campus here. How are
you feeling amazing?
Speaker 2 (00:05):
It's too nice outside not to be so.
Speaker 1 (00:08):
What are some of the things that you all have
been working on since you have all been together so
far this weekend?
Speaker 2 (00:13):
Yeah, obviously just getting in learning to play book as
fast as we can, and then getting out there and
just trying to perfect technique.
Speaker 3 (00:20):
And stuff like that.
Speaker 4 (00:21):
So on the field, what do you hope to get
out of these three days?
Speaker 2 (00:24):
I'm really just get out here and work, you know,
smaller group of guys, you know, get to know them
as best as I can, and then obviously just take
all the coaching that I can and absorb that and
put into my play.
Speaker 4 (00:35):
There's some of the veterans have been around last bit,
last of cold days. I don't know who you've seen
or what, but what's it been like to be a
building with the guys who you're gonna be playing with
the next year.
Speaker 2 (00:44):
I mean, honestly, not a whole lot of them have
been around, but I mean for the ones that I've
been around, you know, it's always been great vibes and
very welcoming.
Speaker 4 (00:52):
And working with the O line coach. What's been sort
of the thing. They've been kind of working you through
the most. What's been your big takeaway just kind of
dealing with coach directly.
Speaker 2 (01:00):
I mean, we really just been working a little bit
of everything, mainly install stuff and just making sure I
got all the plays down and stuff like that.
Speaker 3 (01:07):
So, Josh, the first time you put that helmet on
with that W on the side, what were your thoughts,
what were your feelings?
Speaker 2 (01:13):
What the helmet felt great? So, I mean it was
it was pretty unreal, and you know, it's really just
a dream coming true, you know what I mean.
Speaker 3 (01:23):
So, and kind of piggybacking off of that, now you're
out there on the actual field out there today, these
all your dreams coming true. When was the moment that
that kind of clicked to you out there on the field.
Speaker 2 (01:33):
I mean really just walking out as soon as I
test the grass, you know, it was like it's here.
Speaker 5 (01:38):
So hey, Josh, now that you had a couple of
days to go through some of the process classroom and
then the field, what are the things that you have
picked up early on right now?
Speaker 2 (01:51):
Really that you do have to know your stuff and
know it fast. So that's the only way you're gonna
get out there.
Speaker 6 (02:04):
Oh, good catch, thinks jumped in a little late here,
but just you know, getting to come in here and
have this opportunity with the commanders. Have you had a
chance to talk to Jaden Daniels or any of the
rookie class yet from last year and maybe what guidance
have they given you here in this process?
Speaker 5 (02:18):
Yeah?
Speaker 2 (02:18):
I mean I talked to Brandon Homan a little bit
and he just you know, give me a little rundown
of just how this little these few days would have been,
and you know, it helped me a lot and just
told me just you know, go out there by yourself
and make sure you know everything.
Speaker 7 (02:32):
So, Josh, we talked a little bit about the Big
Ten and going up against Abdul Carter. Sorry, all right,
we talked a little bit about the Big Ten and
you're going up against Abdul Carter and some of the
guys from Michigan. At what point did you realize that
when you guys went to the Big Ten going up
against him, at what point did you realize, you know what,
I can do this at an elite level?
Speaker 8 (02:54):
Yeah?
Speaker 2 (02:54):
I mean I feel like there wasn't a specific game
or moment, but as soon as we knew that we
were going into the Big Ten. You know, at the
end of the day, it's just football. You gotta go
out there and play more.
Speaker 8 (03:07):
Last, hey, josh Uh, since you've gotten here to Washington,
what have you learned about the style of play from
Dan Quinn and kind of what this coaching staff wants
from not only you specifically, but everything that's currently being
built here in Washington.
Speaker 2 (03:22):
That it moves fast, and I mean I'm pretty used
to that, so
