Speaker 1 (00:00):
Jay, No, you said you never really went through something
like the last couple of weeks and not being able
to play. What has the last couple of week's been
like for you overall and what do you think you've
learned from this process?

Speaker 2 (00:12):
Been tough obviously, you know, as a competitor, you want
to go out there and help your team in any
way possible, so kind of be insideline for.

Speaker 3 (00:22):
This past couple of weeks. You know, we're super.

Speaker 2 (00:24):
Tough, but DQ and my team I was obviously was
there for me because they knew how much it meant
to me, and I try to return that same energy,
and I think I was I was able to do that.

Speaker 4 (00:35):
Where did you watch the game on Sunday and what
were your thoughts?

Speaker 3 (00:41):
Yeah, it was a tough one. I wish we could
have pulled out the win.

Speaker 2 (00:46):
You know, was cheering from those guys from the my
couch to come from my own home.

Speaker 5 (00:52):
And then do you expect to play Sunday?

Speaker 3 (00:55):
I guess we'll have to see a Sunday Jade.

Speaker 6 (01:01):
And I saw you wearing a brace during practice today.
Is that the plan of if you do play on
Sunday to wear that brace?

Speaker 3 (01:08):
You guys, we gotta see on Sunday.

Speaker 6 (01:10):
Okay, let me see this with the brace, any limitations?
What is that like? Obviously I've never worn a brace before,
so as an athlete, what is it either?

Speaker 3 (01:18):
Do you like it? Hate it? Yeah?

Speaker 2 (01:21):
No, I'm not the biggest fan of it. But if
that's what I have to wear, then you know, I'll
do anything possible.

Speaker 7 (01:28):
But we'll see on Sunday, Jada, and you are telling
us we'll see on Sunday. But just thinking about it,
the competitor you are, you were touching on a little
bit how badly you know, if you're healthy and able
to do, you want to be able to get back
out there and play and win.

Speaker 3 (01:44):
I want to get back out there two weeks ago.

Speaker 2 (01:46):
So yeah, if I had the opportunity, you know, I
would love to go out there and play.

Speaker 3 (01:53):
Just to quick follow it.

Speaker 7 (01:54):
But I remember all the way back to the first
loss that you had against Tampa last year, and you
told us after that game, I don't like losing. So
when you how tough is it to have to watch
losses happen and not be able to contribute in those situations?

Speaker 2 (02:08):
Same way, both tough to you know, endure as a competitor.
So nobody likes losing at all, Do I.

Speaker 3 (02:28):
Do? I? Yeah. Oh.

Speaker 2 (02:31):
Also, the Mets loss did not make the playoffs, so
that's probably the biggest thing. You know that that brought
a smile to my face. This past weekend. They have
the opportunity played the Marlins to clinch a playoff spot,
but they lost.

Speaker 3 (02:48):
And so did the Reds. So I hope you guys
have been watching the Dodgers.

Speaker 8 (02:53):
Uh.

Speaker 2 (02:54):
I have, and Charlie has too because his team is
not in the playoffs. Oh yeah, he already lost, you know. Yeah, no,
coming soon, It must definitely be coming soon.

Speaker 3 (03:08):
He has not, he has not. He lost.

Speaker 2 (03:11):
He lost last year when the Dodgers beat the Mets.
He lost this year when the Mets didn't make the playoffs.
Uh he is so uh obviously California. Yeah, please please,
it is back to it, though, I don't know how

(03:32):
we follow that one.

Speaker 4 (03:33):
What you are in l a guy? Like, what would
it mean?

Speaker 3 (03:36):
I'm from the Inland Empire?

Speaker 4 (03:37):
Okay, there you go, But what would it mean for
you to go back out there and play game out
there Sunday?

Speaker 3 (03:42):
It would mean the world.

Speaker 2 (03:44):
I plan on having a lot of people in the
game so that is the hometown and be able to
play my.

Speaker 3 (03:52):
Play back in my hometown as a pro. Uh and
me and everything.

Speaker 4 (03:56):
And then as far as you're moving all that, damn said,
he wants to see how you moving all that? When
did you feel like you were back to yourself moving
the way you want to move?

Speaker 2 (04:08):
I mean, if you let me talk, I would want
to play two weeks ago. But I guess in their
eyes probably this past weekend. Uh, you know it when
I started feeling like myself?

Speaker 8 (04:20):
I was it today?

Speaker 2 (04:21):
What were you were?

Speaker 8 (04:22):
You know, you practiced in full But do you feel
like you can do all the things that you normally
would on the field?

Speaker 2 (04:28):
Said, I feel like I could do that two weeks ago. So,
but I don't make those calls.

Speaker 3 (04:33):
You felt you could do it too.

Speaker 2 (04:34):
I mean, if you put your mind to a lot
of things, you could do anything. So but nah, I
felt good out there. And yeah, that's it's a plan.

Speaker 9 (04:50):
After a game like Sunday, I'm sure everybody's got a
bad taste in their mouth. How do you how do
you approach another road game against a front like saying
in front like LA's that that can cause some problems.

Speaker 2 (05:08):
Yeah, I think you're kind of just focus on us,
and obviously they're coming off of a bad taste in
their mouth too, so we know we're gonna get their
best game and they're going back home. You know, we're
going on on the road, so we haven't played that
played the best on the road, so we kind of
just focus on ourselves and go out there having fun
and you know, cutting the loose.

Speaker 9 (05:28):
You guys were really good towards the end of last
season on the road and had some big road wins.
What do you think has been different so far this year?

Speaker 2 (05:36):
I mean each year is different, even though it's only
my second year. Kind of figure that out. But that's
kind of what the first month of football is for
more games are lost than one in the first month.
So uh, now it's kind of settling in and you know,
you got to execute at a high level, especially on
the road.

Speaker 3 (05:54):
We don't have the.

Speaker 2 (05:55):
Luxury, even though our fans traveled great to have our
home fans and be on our home area, but so
you know, we got to bring our own juice and
our own energy.

Speaker 10 (06:06):
Hey, Jan and I know you felt like you're ready
to play last week, but does the new feel better
now than it did? Seven days ago, fourteen days.

Speaker 3 (06:11):
Ago, I plan on going out there on Sunday.

Speaker 10 (06:13):
So yeah, and you and Bobby are both southern California guys.
How did that kind of connection help you? Guys build
that friendship so quickly when you both got here.

Speaker 2 (06:23):
I think that's kind of the icebreaker. You know, we're
both from the same area. We both have the same
area code on our phone, the nine to nine, So
that was kind of just the icebreaking, and then you
kind of just figure out a little things from there.

Speaker 9 (06:38):
Hey, Jake, and you've been able to sit back and
watch this team offensively, what have you seen from the
offense these last two weeks?

Speaker 3 (06:45):
Yeah, running the ball really well.

Speaker 2 (06:49):
A lot of guys are stepping up and contributing, even
though you know, we kind of dealt with a little
injury bug, so a lot of guys were stepping up,
even from you know the in the back room. You
got Ben that's been stepping up, yank Off, so all
those other guys, Trent Scott so obviously the biggest person markets,

(07:09):
so they've been doing their thing and they.

Speaker 3 (07:11):
Kind of all just executed on a high level.

Speaker 2 (07:15):
But yeah, kind of creates some explosive plays and getting
guys back, so we'll move a build on from that.

Speaker 11 (07:21):
Jaden, what did you maybe learn over the last couple
of weeks when you were playing?

Speaker 3 (07:29):
Probably say that, you know, guy works in mysterious ways.

Speaker 2 (07:33):
Uh so, I don't. I think he kind of had
a plan for everything. So it's obviously just trusting his
plan and you know, go back and rehab them.

Speaker 3 (07:42):
Hopefully. I was to get back to this point and
you know, I get to play in front of my
own crowd.

Speaker 11 (07:48):
And then the offense is gonna look a little different
than last time.

Speaker 3 (07:50):
You're out there.

Speaker 11 (07:50):
Eckler's out, unsure on Terry, unsure on Noah. What what
adjustments do you guys need to make offensively to get
back to that explosive unit you had last year.

Speaker 2 (08:03):
I mean, just focus on us and you know, guys
going making plays, Me make throws, and you know, we
get this thing back rolling.

Speaker 5 (08:14):
Jaden's just obviously watching the game from afar when you're
sitting up in the top of the stadium or being
at home. Was there anything that you maybe saw differently,
you know, not being there on the field.

Speaker 3 (08:27):
Yeah, I mean.

Speaker 2 (08:30):
Kind of being up there, being up top, you obviously
see everything. So I don't really look at it from
that perspective, like, oh, why didn't probably Marcus throw this
ball here or anything like that. You know, you gotta
look through it through the eyes of the line of
the fire. So it wasn't anything like I was looking
at it differently. Obviously, you see what they're doing, and oh,

(08:53):
you can say the ball should be going here. But
other than now, it's just up there, just kind of
just cheering on my team.

Speaker 8 (08:59):
JA, how do you think you've progressed from last year
to this year, even in the first two weeks that
you were able to play in terms of diagnosing coverages.

Speaker 2 (09:09):
I mean that kind of just goes with experience. You
get some games under your belt, you kind of understand
what teams are trying to do in different pressures, and
you kind of just look at different things of body
language tendencies and stuff like that.

Speaker 3 (09:24):
So I'm still learning, but that's kind.

Speaker 2 (09:27):
Of where the growth I took from year one year two,
and I'm still trying to learn even more.

Speaker 8 (09:31):
And take us inside the mind of a quarterback what
you're looking at post snap to try and figure out
when teams are disguising coverages against.

Speaker 2 (09:39):
Oh, I would say it just depends on the concept
and where you think you're trying to go with the football.
You got different keys as far as safety. They say
safeties tell the truth, corners lie. So you're kind of
just trying to figure out different things within the box
in the structure of the defense, and obviously it ties
into your film study and who the defensive coordinator is.

Speaker 12 (10:00):
Jaden knowing your importance to the team, if you're able
to play on Sunday, well, you have to be a
little extra cautious to make sure you keep your health up.
Or can you even play cautious and still be effective
and be your usual self.

Speaker 3 (10:14):
I just think it's that balance. You find that balance.

Speaker 2 (10:18):
Obviously you want to be able to be available for
the rest of the games, but you gotta be smart,
and that's kind of what we talked about, you know,
just living to see another down, but just know, if
the game is on the line, I'm gonna do whatever.

Speaker 3 (10:33):
Taste the wear. So that's a different circumstance too,
