Creative CEO | The Business Podcast For Artists

Creative CEO is a podcast for artists and creative people who desire to become their own boss and make money from their creativity. Hosted by me, Georgie Turner, an art teacher turned full time artist. As I build my own art business from the ground up, I am taking you on the journey with me, offering real world advice on what's working as an artist on social media, how to sell art online, marketing your art work and building sustainable creative income streams. I'm doing this alongside juggling babies, country living, a family home and horses, so if you want realistic advice from a female founder who is trying to 'do it all', you've come to the right place! Expect brutal honestly, a bit of oversharing, interesting conversations with guests and a safe space for you to feel like you're not alone. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

In this episode I talk all about the pressures of running an art business, whether that's keeping up with your competition, the pressure to post on social media or joining in with Black Friday sales. This comes from my experience in November where it all got too much and I had to press pause on marketing my art business (whilst ...

Off the back of my first curated art fair, I wanted to talk openly and honestly about my experience. I talk about the difference between art fairs and trade fairs, the price of original pieces and a new lesson I learnt in selling prints in person. Maybe it was too honest.. but I'm here to be authentic and transparent about the realities of building an art business!

I hit rock bottom and realised that what led me to this point wasn't just my toddler going through the terrible 2's, but putting pressure on myself to post every single day. After some self reflection I've re-considered what consistency can look like for me in my current life at home and work. In this episode I share some ideas on how you can make small consistent incremental changes to your day to have a compound effect over time.

It's been 6 months since I've been completely self employed (and 5 years since I started my art business). After a week of socialising with new and old friends for my sister's wedding, one key phrase kept coming out of my mouth - I'm so happy. I wanted to reflect on this and bring you an honest episode all about being self employed, both the great parts and the challenges. Please subscribe to my podcast and leave me a review - I'd ...
