I'm pastor Ronnihok took the Word of life John one
fourteen Church located in Troy, Alabama. Hallelujah. This is our
morning worship, and the Word became flesh and dwelt among us,
and we be held as glory that of the only
begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth. We

we thank God for you on today. Oh, let's have
a word of prayer before we go in our sermon
for today, all heads bowed arts turn to God Father.

lift you up and we magnify you, the word says Lord,
with thanksgiving. We magnify you. So we thank your Lord
for all that you've done for us. We thank you
for salvation. We thank you for the blood of Jesus Christ.
We thank you for the food that we eat, for
the mooths of our head, the clothes on our backs,

the wisdom and the knowledge and the understanding that you
give us. We thank your Lord, hollelujah, for you rule
and you super rule over everything, even in our lesson
as we learn this morning. Hollelujah, there is nothing that
you are not aware of. Father, And vengeance is yours,
holle Lujah, said the Lord. And we do thank and
we give you praise, and we give you glory. Now, Father,

I ask in the name of Jesus, helped me to
decrease in the spirit of truth. Increase and speak and
minister this word that you have given me, that the
hearers will hear and receive into their hearts. Then grafted
word of truth, that the truth will make them free.

Help me Lord to release and and a lot allow
the flesh to intervene and and interact with the truth. Hallelujah,
Glory to God. Now, Lord, I pray for the hearts
of men and women all over callow that they were
received in grafted word, the spirit of life that is

bless the name of Jesus. All right, Saints, we are
And this is a tough subject. I want to talk
about your souls on today. What is going to be

(04:21):
saved your souls. Your spirit goes back to God. The
body that you live in because it's corrupted because of sin,
goes to the dust, and your soul goes to the
place where you sew to. If you sow to the flesh,

you will reap corruption. If you sow to the spirit,
you will reap life everlasting. So what's the condition of
your soul. Let me read to you a quote that
my dear friend and pastor Bishop Nelson Watts Junior said

to us, it's a quote from Thomas Payne and said,
in today's time, we are faced with many types of challenges,
and many of them are happening simultaneously. Hallelujah, many of

(05:29):
them are happening simultaneously, or another way of saying, at
the same time. As we face these challenges, decisions have
to be made. Decisions have to be made, and how
we make those decisions are crucial, are critical in our lives,

(05:54):
for yourselves, for your loved ones, for those that are
whether or not you believe it, those that are watching
you are affected as well. So what is your source
for making these crucial, critical life and death decision What

(06:21):
is your source? Let's look at the book of Samuel
First Samuel Hallida. We know the story about Hannah who
has a son whose name was Samuel. Samuel is dedicated
to the Lord God and given to Eli, the prophet

to raise him, and God calls Samuel by name in
chapter three of First Samuel. Samuel then grows up to
judge Israel. In chapter seven, in verse three, Samuel speaks
to the house of Israel to return to the Lord

with all their hearts. Israel returns returns to the Lord. Okay,
But in chapter eight they desire a king rather than
to be judged by judges, so God calls Samuel to

(07:26):
Annoysaul as king. In chapter twelve, verse fourteen, the Lord says,
if you will fear the Lord and serve him and
obey watch this, and obey his voice, and not disobey
or go against the commandment ruse for living of the Lord,

then shall both ye and also the king that reign
over you continue you following the Lord, your God. But
if you will not obey the voice of the Lord,
but rebel against his commandments rules for living, then shall

the hand of the Lord be against Hallelujah, be against you,
as it was against your father's Hallelujah. Unfortunately, solve this.
Obeyed the Lord, and God chose a new king, a
man that has a heart of God. He chose David.

(08:38):
Now listen, now, why does God choose? Why did God
choose Saul in the first place? God chose Saul to
be the first king of Israel primarily because the Israelites
demanded a king. You know how we can, we can be,

(08:59):
We will what we want when we wanted, they demanded
a king in first Samuel chapter eight, verse six, and God,
in his sovereignty, watched this granted their request. While God
warned them about the potential downside of a monarchy or

this form of government from a man halleujah. He also
provided them with the leader who could deliver them from
their enemies look at God, particularly the Philistines. Saul was
chosen in part to do his physical due to his

(09:41):
physical stature, he was a tall man. He looked apart
as a king, and according to our understanding and leadership potential.
He had leadership potential according to our understanding, and God
further equipped him by giving him a new heart and

the Holy Spirit. God gave Israel what they wanted, a king.
That's why he chose Saul. God will give you what
you asked for. But when that which the people asked
for failed, God steps up and annoyed a king of

his standard. You see, God was their king at first
for their own selfish reason, they decided that they wanted
someone that they could see. I'm not going to separate

and tell you that in many times, many cases, that's
the way we act. We want somebody that we can see,
and then we get into the mindset or the attitude.
We want them to be more like us, so they
can they can understand and understand where we're coming from.
God hears you, so they can experience the way we experience.

God hears you. He knows your heart solves this obedience.
Turn with me to the first chapter of Samuel. We're
gonna kind of go through because because I want to
get to you, get to know, get you to know.

This quote, that Thomas Pain quote, it is this. He said,
these are the times that try men's souls. These are
the times that try men's souls. Talking about your soul,
where it's going to go, and everything that's going on

today tries your soul. Try, These are the time to
try your soul. And you stay with me. I'm going
to reveal to you what the Lord is wanted you
to understand here excuse me. See, because God will allow

(12:27):
you to have what you keep on complaining about, oh,
what you think you want, of what you think you need,
and then He will allow you to be tried. Remember
the joke. Matter of fact, God volunteered joke. He said,
have you considered my servant job? The devil said, yeah,

(12:49):
you got a headge around. So the quote these or
the time that tries me and soul, and don't want
to get ahead of myself, because there's a meeting in
this and we need to understand that your soul is

(13:14):
at stake where it's going to spend eternity, whether you
believe it or not, and everything that you do, everything
you say, is crucial in determining that factor. All right,
Chapter thirteen, First Samuel, I'm starting at verse thirteen. Samuel

(13:37):
disobeys God, and Samuel said to Saul, Assaul disobeys God,
rather excuse me, And Samuel says to Saul, thou hast
done foolishly. Thou has not kept the commandment. Again, I say,

(13:57):
these are laws God's laws for living, rules for living,
And thou hast not kept the commandment of the Lord,
thy God. He disobeyed which he commanded thee for now
would the Lord have established thy kingdom upon Israel forever?

(14:23):
In other words, if he had kept God's commandments, God
would have kept the kingdom. Hello, somebody rules for living,
moral standards. If he'd obeyed God, God would have kept

(14:45):
him hallelujah, Verse fourteen. But now the kingdom shall not continue.
The Lord has sought him a man after what his
own heart, and the Lord has commanded him to be
captain over his people. Continue that over as people, because

(15:12):
thou has not kept that which the Lord commanded thee Hm.
God said Samuel to tell Saul that God is disappointed
with him because he disobeyed, and because of this, he's

(15:34):
not gonna keep your kingdom. I hope you're hearing this.
Without this applies to us in our disobedience, Jesus said,
man must not live by bringing by every word that
proceded out of the mouth forgotten. One of the things
that the enemy, as I said last year, the enemy
will do to you is try to distract you, and
the word will fall onto good thorny ground, be overcome

by the careage of the world. It will fall into
shallow ground, no depth, no love. Hallelujah. And in some
places it will fall into good ground. So be careful, hallelujah,
that the Lord that which the Lord commandity, that the

Lord commandity, the Lord commandity to go forth and love.

of Saul. And God has announced us to them that
He's going to pick somebody that has a heart for God.
Do you have a heart for God. We're gonna find

to have. It has to be given to you by God.
If any man think he is has made it or
he is righteous, when out God, he's sadly mistaken. Hallelujah.

Verse chapter sixteen. Watch this verse one. And the Lord said,
unto Samuel, how long without mourn for Saul. Samuel was
steading a pleading for Saul to be the king, and

God asked Samuel, how long were you mourn for Saul?
Seeing I have rejected him from reigning over Israel, fill
thine horn with oil and gold, and I will send
thee to Jesse the Bethnamite, for I have provided me
a king. Look at God, and since you want a king,

I'm gonna choose one. Now you chose the last one.
I'm gonna choose this one among his sons, among Jesse's sons.
And Samuel said, how can I go? If Saul hear it,
he will kill me. And the Lord said, take in
heap with thee hallelujah, and say I am, I am

come to sacrifice to the Lord. Take our health with you,
and tell them that you're going to sacrifice to the Lord,
which was common for what them to do, hallelujah. Unsuspecting
Saul didn't know what he was going what else he
was going to do as well. Verse three, and called

(18:38):
Jesse to the sacrifice, and I will show Thee what
thou shalt do, and thou shalt anoint unto me him
whom I name unto thee, hallelujah. And Samuel did that
which the Lord's faith, and came to Bethlehem. And the

(18:58):
elders of the town trembled at his coming and said,
comest thou peaceably, hallelujah. And they thought, when the prophet comes,
he comes to pronounce the word of God to people.
And some people don't want to see the prophet because

(19:18):
he can have good news or bad news. Hallelujah. But
I thank God for the Word of God when it
comes forth, hallelujah. It shows me, especially while I'm yet alive.
It shows me where I am. It gives me the
opportunity to make the necessary changes if there need to
be hope. I'm making sense to you. Verse five, and

he said, peaceably, I am come to sacrifice unto the Lord.
Sanctify yourselves and come with me. To the sacrifice. And
he sanctified Jesse and his sons and called them to
the sacrifice verse six. And it came to pass when
they were come that he looked at Iliab and said,

(20:09):
surely the Lord's annoying him is before him. Verse seven.
But the Lord said, until Samuel look not on his
continents or on his height of his stature. But I
have refused him, for the Lord seeth not as a

man seeth. For a man looketh on the outward appearance.
But God looketh on the heart. My God. Now listen here,
let's skip down. Let's skip down to verse ten. Now

(20:51):
Jesse has some other sons. Look here again. Jesse made
seven of his sons to pass before Samuel. And Samuel said,
unto Jesse, the Lord has not chosen deeds. Now, all
these are good looking young men. Some of them had
even been in battle before, so they had their approven

their strength, hallelujah. But he said, I don't want God
that want any of them, hallelujah. And he said, and
Samuel said, unto Jesse, are here all thy children? And
he said, that remaineth yet the youngest, And behold he

(21:35):
keep it to sheep. And Samuel said, unto Jesse, sin
and fetch him, for we will not sit down till
he come hither. They wouldn't even he wouldn't even let
him sit down. Everybody remains standing. Hallelujah, Glory to God, hallelujah.

Verse twelve. And he said, and brought him in. Now
he was ready, and with all of and with all
of a beautiful countenance and gotten and goodly to look to.
And the Lord said, arise, anoints him, for this is

he we're talking about, David. Now. Then Samuel took the
horn of oil and anointed him in the midst of
his brothers. And the spirit of the Lord came upon
David from that day forward. So Saul rose up and
went to Raimon. But the spirit of the Lord departed

from Saul. Remember Saul is the king at that time.
But David is being anointed by God as king. Hallelujah.
And the evil spirit from the Lord troubled him. Y'all
see that, And an evil spirit from the Lord troubled him.

(23:12):
In other words, God allowed an evil spirit to trouble Saul,
because listen, your soul hangs in the balance, and disobedience
to God has brought all this on Soulve Hallelujah, go

(23:34):
over to God. Sure David had his problems. We know
that we've read about David. But the one thing about
David that remaineth sure David's heart was towards God. Hallelujah.

(23:54):
David's heart was towards God. David was constantly examined his
actions before God. Tell me of y'all who have read
the story of David, I challenge you to read it.
When he was keeping the sheep, he had a fight
with the bear, when he was keeping the sheep, he

(24:17):
had a fight with a lion. And when he told
these stories to his older brothers, they wouldn't believe in
what he had done. But the one story that they
believed because they've seen it for themselves. When he came
against Golia, against the Philistine, and he came into the

(24:40):
battlegrounds to give his brother some food sent by his
father Jesse, and Saul was looking for someone to go
battle against Callia. Y'all know the story. No one would.
Everybody was trembling in their book Boots David. He said,

(25:02):
who is this uncircumcised Philistine that come against the armies
of the Lord David? Took authority. He knew who he was,
and he knew whose he was, hallelujah. In obedience to
God's word, he said, I'll go against it. Hallelujah. They

(25:26):
looked at David. They laughed, y'all know the story. Saul said, well,
let's send him out that we need somebody represented. So
Saul tried to get in his armor. It didn't fit in.
David said, I can't try. I can't worry something that
had not been tried by me. So David went out

(25:49):
before Goliath with that, armed with that that had been
tried in the furnace by his experience with God and
the willerness with the sheep, taking care of the sheep,
and going against the bar and the lion. So he
went out there with his swing shot, and the Bible
said that he picked up some stones hallelujah, smooth stones

(26:14):
and took with him, and he struck Goliath in the forehead,
in the one place that can knock him down and
kill him. Then he took Goliath's sword and chopped off
his head. They marveled at David because of his obedience

(26:38):
to God. Hallelujah, hallelujah. But remember Saul was troubled in
his spirit because God had allowed her evil spirit to
come upon him, and the spirit of the Lord was
upon David. Hallelujah, Glory to God. See even other youth.

(27:01):
David learned to be obedient to God and not look
at his stature and look at his youth, but he
looked at the God that he's certain. Too many times
we look at ourselves are other people for reference to
whether or not we can do a thing, and we

(27:21):
neglect the word of God that says I can do
all things through Christ, Who's strengthens me, my God from glory, Hallelujah.
Sometimes our unbelief takes over us and overrides us because
of the feelings and emotions and desires that we have.
And we see with our eyes, but we can't believe

(27:43):
with our heart. What thus said the Lord. Hallelujah. Look
here in Psum fifty one and eight to twelve, it
says this David said, Ho, make me to hear joy
and gladness, and that the boons which thou hast broken,
I may rejoice. Hide my face, hide thy face far

(28:07):
from my sins. See David messed up too. Sometimes, Hallelujah,
Lord to God and blot out mine innickel cheese glory.
I told you he examined himself, Hallelujah, creating me a
clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me.
Cast me not away from thy presence, and take not

(28:30):
thy holy spirit for me. Restore unto me the joy
of thy salvation, and uphold me with thy free spirit.
See David knew that Hallelujah. The afflictions and trials would come,

(28:53):
and the decisions that he had to make couldn't be
based upon his own understanding, his own intellect, but they
had to be based upon the two and the Living
God with God had told him Hallelujah. That's one of
the reasons that the Bible tells us to train up

(29:16):
a child in the way that they should go. And
when they get old, they will not Why because you
start putting them in them early in life, in their
infant age and their toddler age, they will remember the Lord.
They they will apply the Lord to their circumstances. They
will learn at an early age to make decisions based

(29:38):
upon what they're taught. I know what I'm talking about. Hallelujah.
In their innocence, they will learn to believe upon the
true of the living God. It does not say that
they may not go straight, but they will always know
that God is real and they can always come back

to him. Hallelujah, Glory to God. Hallelujah. Looking here, look
at here, Verse nineteen, chapter nineteen, No not chapter Let
excuse me. Psalms one nineteen to ten says, with my

whole heart I saw thee David said, Oh, let me
not wander from thy commandments. See, David knew the importance
of keeping God's commandments, even to the point when he
broke one, he repented. You know, too many times we

break God's We disobeyed God. We disobey the word of God,
and we will leave it just there. We will inticipately
do what God tell us not to do, or say
what God tells us not to say, and never say
God forgive me. No unrepented sin can be forgiven. If

you don't repent, how is it gonna be forgiven? Come on,
when you make a mistake. We got to be We
got to be mindful enough and reverence enough about God
that we ask God to forgive us. Hallywjah. The word

sit against thee. David said, the Word tells us to study,
to show yourself of prove unto God, a workman that
needeth not be ashamed rightly dividing the word of truth.
These are the time to tried men's souls. Your decisions

have to be based on something that is not cornal,
that is not earthly. And I present to you the
Word of God. That's what he says. He said, God
commendeth his love towards us. Why we were yet sin sinners?

What commendeth mean? It means to present. God presented his
love toward us in the form of the Word that
was made flesh. He gave us his word. He created
all things by his word. By the word, all the
world were framed, and did hallelujah. He sent us his

only begotten son, that whoso or whoever believeth in Him
should not perish, but have everlasting life. Listen Roman chapter eight.
When you received Jesus Christ as your Lord and savior,

this is what happens to you. Chapter eight. I'm gonna
jump down into chapter eight, but read chapter seven and eight.
Chapter seven, Chapter eight, verse nine. But ye are not
in the flesh when you receive the law of the life,
the law of life that is in Christ Jesus, verse

two of eight. It will free you from the law
sin and death. Hear me now. Verse one of chapter
eight said, there is therefore now no condemnation to those
who are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh,
but after the spirit. Verse two. For the law of

life that is in Christ has made me free from
the law sin and death. There's a law that governs you.
There's a law that sends you to doing what you're
doing based upon your feelings and emotions. And there's a
law of the Spirit of Christ that is obedient to God.

Your soul is at state, Hallelujah. But ye are not
in the flesh, but in the spirit capitalist Hallelujah. If
so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you,
now listen, If so be that the Spirit of God
dwell in you. If the Spirit of God is in you, now,

if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he
has none of his the life, spirit of life that
is in Christ. If you don't have this spirit in you,
Jesus told his disciples in John fourteen. He said that
the world cannot receive the spirit of Truth, but he

said this, but he is with you and he will
be in you. Gover to God. See, the spirit of
truth was in Jesus Christ while he was with the disciples.
But he said there, well, I got to go because

a comforter has to thrump so he can dwell in you. See,
God is not willing that you should parish, make the
wrong decision that you should. He said, he will brings
here or remember those team that he said, he will
teach you. What Jesus is saying, Lord to God, hallelujah.

God has not left you alone. These are the time
to try. Men soul may show decisions up on the
word of God. Listen to what he says. Hallelujah. Now
if any man have not the spirit of Christ, he
had none of his Verse ten. And if Christ, if

Christ be in you, the body is dead because of sin,
but the spirit is life because of righteousness. What is
he saying? He said, you don't do what your because
of your decision making process. You choose life. You don't
do what you used to do. You do what God

tells you to do. Now you're not like Saul walking
in disobedience, but you're walking like David Victorious because you're
obeying the word of God. You heard it when I
read earlier, when David was anointed, he received hallelujah, the
spirit of the Living God, the Holy Spirit in it,

and the spirit of God was taken out of Psalm,
and God gave Saul an evil spirit. Come on, saints,
I hope y'all seeing this. This is your soul at stake.
Where are you're gonna spend eternity? Yeah, you having fun

(36:58):
doing what you're doing. You're being and real stubborn about
hearing the word of God and obeying the word of God. Hallelujah.
I used to do it. I used to do the
same thing, and in some cases, when God corrects me,
I got to bring myself under subjection hallelujah and examine myself.

(37:19):
Sometimes the truth hurts, but I'd rather be hurt to
do good than hurt doing bad. Hell is too long,
Eternity is too long in hell. Hallelujah. There's no redemption there,
there's no deliverance there. You can talk all big if

you want to, well, I just deal with it. Yeah,
you're gonna deal with it, but you're gonna wish you
hadn't Verse eleven. But if the spirit of Him that
rais up Jesus from the dead. Dwell in you. Look
at this. Now, that spirit, the spirit of truth, the

spirit of life, will raise you up from the dead.
Why because that same act of righteousness has caused you
to die to your way of doing things, die to
being disobedient to God, die to your rebellious nature. And
now he's raising you up from the dead with the
spirit of life. Why when you're saying yes to God

(38:27):
and no to the devil, or no to your flesh.
Because everything ain't the devil. Excuse my language. Everything is
not from the devil. A lot of that is from you,
your selfish desires. That's James first chapter. For I believe
this first fourteen you're drawn away by your own lust

(38:48):
and enticed. That's what draws you away. When you're tipped,
that's you. That's you. That's you. That is not the devil.
That's you. I don't care what Flip Wilson said, the
devil mad, it was you. But David examined himself. Hallelujah,

(39:09):
because he knowed that every decision that he made was
critical to where his soul would be. He realized that
at a young age. Why because of the relationship that
he had with God from a young age, and some
of us parents, hallelujah, we need to repent because we

(39:31):
didn't give our children that same type of relationship with
God at an early age when we should have been.
I'm not telling you to do something that I didn't do.
I wasn't there for my child the way I should
have been. I asked him to forgive me, and ask
God to forgive me. I say the way I should

(39:54):
have been. And I'm not talking about bringing them to
God and then leading them now, I'm talking come and
bringing him to God and allowing him to see me
interact with my true and living God. So he has
an example, not somebody that brings God. Didn't want to
be somebody that brings him there and just leave them.

(40:16):
That's just as bad as not being there. Hallelujah. Drop
down to sixteen. It says this the spirit itself bath
witness with our spirit that we are children of God.
What is he saying, The Holy Spirit, the spirit of life,

(40:39):
come to speak to the spirit that is breath breathed
into you into your nostril, God breathing to man's nostrils.
The man became what a living soul, and that spirit
is in us, but it lays dormant. Why because it
has not been fed the word of truth. It's weak.
So what happened? The carnal mind takes over your emotions,

(41:03):
your feelings. You make decisions based upon how I feel.
I don't think I don't believe that they should have
did this, and I don't feel like this, and I
don't feel like that, and I think that's disobedience. The

(41:24):
Word of God is truth, so God steps in by
his spirit.

The spirit of truth is introduced to us through the
spirit of life. The spirit of truth, the spirit of life.
The spirit of truth is introduced to us through Christ Jesus.
The truth comes to us.

Now we know the truth and we are prid to
be made free from the law of sin and death.
I hope you hear me. Now, once the truth comes
to you, you gotta choose life or death. Is in
the power of the tongue. I choose life, You choose life.
I say, Lord, help me, because Jesus saves and he

wants to be your lord. Ask him for help. Ask
him for help, even with the smallest things. Sometime we
think I got this one. No, you don't in all
thy ways. Acknowledge him, and he shall direct your path.

The devil is tooth cutting. For you to think that
you got it handled, you got to remember he's been
here from the beginning. God created him for the day
of it. He had up on goshan glory to God.

He's been here longer than us. He knows the Bible. Hallelujah,
Glory to God. The scripture I gave you while a
few minutes ago James one to fourteen. It says, but
every man is tipped in when he is drawn away
by his own luss and entyst. Let me give you

the definition of soul. Your soul is at stake. So
every decision that you make, y'all listen to me. Please
don't let you sleep, don't let what you got on
