Dr. John C. Pinheiro, a historian, author, and public intellectual whose work explores the intersections of religion, politics, and American identity. Dr. Pinheiro currently serves as Director of Research at the Acton Institute in Grand Rapids, Michigan, where he oversees scholarly research, publications, and international programming. He is the author most recently of Missionaries of Republicanism: A Religious History of the Mexican-American War.
