Josh Freese has been removed as the drummer for the band Foo Fighters, just two years after joining to replace the late Taylor Hawkins. Freese expressed surprise and disappointment at the decision, which he said was communicated to him by the band without a specific reason given for them wanting to move in a "different direction." He acknowledged his freelance background and stated he supported the band's decision while joking about the possible reasons for his departure. The Foo Fighters have not publicly commented on the change, nor have they announced a replacement drummer or any upcoming performances besides one in October 2025.
