There's only one way to findout.
Alright, let's hit the track.
Christmas dirt bike adventurewith Santa.
The sun was just starting torise as Jax, Bonnie and Mitch
finished their breakfast on themorning of Christmas Eve.
(00:44):
It was already warm and a softbreeze rustled the gum trees
around their campsite.
The trio had planned a dirt bikeadventure ride through the bush.
something Jax and Bonniecouldn't wait for.
Today's gonna be awesome.
Jack said, pulling on his blueand green jersey.
Bonnie was just as excited.
Tugging on her pink and blackgloves.
Do you think we'll see kangaroosor koalas?
(01:06):
Mitch laughed as he grabbed hishelmet with all the noise we'll
be making on the bikes, I reckonwe'll scare everything off
before we see it.
Jack's grinned, not everything.
Dad.
Maybe we'll run into somethingcool.
Like what?
Bonnie asked, giving Jax aplayful shove.
I don't know, maybe Santa, Jaxsaid.
Bonnie rolled her eyes.
(01:26):
Santa doesn't ride dirt bikes! We'll see about that, Jax said,
grabbing his helmet.
The trio geared up and rolledtheir bikes out of the shed.
The engines roared to life, vroom, vroom, breaking the quiet
morning air.
The scent of fuel and dustfilled the air as they twisted
the throttles and headed offinto the bush, their bikes
rumbling along the dirt track.
(01:47):
The bush was alive with sounds, the chirping of cicadas, the
call of kookaburras, and therustling of leaves as they
weaved through narrow trails.
Mitch led the way, kicking up atrail of dust as Jax and Bonnie
followed close behind.
Keep your eyes on the track,Mitch yelled.
I am, Dad! Jack shouted back, skidding through a tight corner.
The wheel slid out and dirtsprayed into the air.
(02:09):
Bonnie laughed as she followed, hitting a bump and getting a
little air.
Woo hoo! This is the best! Theyrode deeper into the bush, the
gum trees towering over them, and the sunlight flickering
through the branches.
Suddenly, Mitch slowed down andstopped at the edge of a
clearing.
Whoa! What's that?
Mitch said, pointing ahead.
(02:29):
Jackson Bonny pulled up besidehim, skidding to a stop.
In the middle of the clearing, under a big gum tree, near a
sparkling billabong, someone wasnapping.
A red sleigh.
Yes, a sleigh.
Was parked nearby, hitched up tosix big kangaroos with shiny
bells around their necks.
The sleigh was stacked withpresents wrapped in bright
(02:51):
paper, and beside it sat a bigred dirt bike.
Is that?
Bonnie whispered, her eyes wideopen.
No way! Jax gasped.
It's Santa! The man under thetree stirred, pulling his red
hat down over his eyes as heyawned.
Then slowly he sat up andstretched.
Crikey! Santa said in a deepcheerful voice, blinking as he
(03:13):
spotted them.
You found me! Jax's mouth fellopen.
You're real! And you're in thebush! Santa chuckled, his belly
jiggling.
Even Santa needs a break mate! It's been a long year and I was
just taking a nap under the bigshady tree before my big night.
Bonnie grinned.
What about the sleigh?
(03:34):
Why do you have kangaroosinstead of reindeer?
Santa laughed again, climbing tohis feet.
Reindeer don't do too well inthe Aussie heat.
Kangaroos are much better athopping through the bush and
faster too.
Jacks couldn't stop staring atSanta's dirt bike.
You ride dirt bikes too.
Of course I do, Santa saidbrushing dust off his red coat.
(03:55):
How else am I supposed todeliver presents to kids who
live out in the middle ofnowhere?
Mitz chuckled.
You've got a good point there,Santa.
Santa gave them a big grin andpointed to his bike.
Tell you what, why don't we gofor a ride?
I've got some presents todeliver and the bush can get
tricky with all this gear.
He padded the big red sackstrapped to the back of his dirt
(04:17):
bike.
Jacks and Bonnie exchanged wideeyed looks.
Ride with Santa?
Bonnie squeaked.
Let's do it! Jacks cheered, twisting the throttle.
Vroom! Santa climbed onto hisred dirt bike with a clunk and
adjusted his helmet, which wasred and white trim, just like
his coat.
Alright, you two, follow me andkeep an eye on the presents.
(04:39):
With a roar.
Santa's dirt bike sh forwardbroom.
He sack a presence bouncingbehind him.
Jack's Bonnie and Mitch followedtheir bikes, rumbling through
the clearing, and back onto thetrails.
Keep up Santa Shouted laughingas he powered through the bush.
Jacks rode up beside Bonniegrinning.
This is insane.
(04:59):
We're riding with Santa.
I can't believe it.
Bonnie Shouted, dodging a lowhanging branch as they rode,
Santa's sack began to wobble andpresents started to slip out.
Santa.
You're losing presence.
Jack's called out Santa glancedback.
His eyes widening.
Oh no, my sack's coming undone.
Bonnie hit the brakes andskidded to a stop.
(05:22):
I'll get this one! She yelled, hopping off her bike to grab a
brightly wrapped box.
Jack swerved to avoid anotherpresent and shouted, I see
another one! Mitch pulled upalongside Santa.
You might need to tighten thatsack, mate.
Santa skidded to a stop.
You're right, Mitch.
These trails are bumpier than aruse pouch.
The kids helped Santa collectthe scattered presents, stuffing
(05:43):
them back into his sack.
Thanks, Jax and Bonnie, Santasaid, tying the sack tighter
this time.
Couldn't do this without you.
As they set off again, theypassed all kinds of Aussie
animals.
A big goanna scurried across thetrack, its tail whipped behind
it.
Look at that lizard! Bonnieyelled.
Jax pointed to the side of thetrail.
There's a mob of kangaroos! Lookhow high they're jumping! The
(06:06):
kookaburras laughed from thetrees above, and the sounds of
cicadas buzzed all around them.
Bush riding's the best, isn'tit?
Santa Shouted over the roar oftheir engines.
It really is.
Jack shouted back, leaning intoa berm and blasting out it.
The group powered up a steephill, their engines roaring as
they climbed higher.
(06:27):
Jack stood on his foot pegs tokeep his balance while Bonnie
sat on the seat so she couldpaddle with her legs if she
needed to.
At the top they stopped to catchtheir breath.
The view was incredible.
The bush stretched out belowthem with the billabong where
Santa's sleigh was parked, sparkling in the distance.
Santa?
Bonnie asked.
Do you think you could bring mea new dirt bike for Christmas?
(06:47):
Mine's getting a bit small.
Jax chimed in.
Yeah, me too.
I've been riding the wheels offmine.
Santa smiled mysteriously.
Well, we'll just have to see.
Have you been good kids?
They zoomed back down the hill, their dirt bikes roaring and
spitting dust into the air.
When they reached the clearingby the billabong, the kangaroos
(07:08):
were still waiting patiently, their bells ringing softly.
Santa parked his dirt bike andclimbed off.
You two have been amazinghelpers, he said.
I think you've earned a specialpresent.
He walked over to his sleigh andpulled back the blanket covering
the presents.
There, gleaming in the sunlight, were two brand new dirt bikes.
(07:29):
One blue and green, the otherpink and black.
Jax's jaw dropped.
No way! Is that for us?
Bonnie's eyes lit up.
They're perfect! MerryChristmas, you two.
You've earned these after allthe help you gave me today.
Jax and Bonnie ran over to theirnew bikes, hopping on and
(07:49):
revving the engines.
Vroom! Vroom! Thank you, Santa!Bonnie said.
This is the best Christmas ever!Jax shouted, tearing off across
the clearing on his new bike.
Mitch watched them ride awaywith a smile.
Thanks, Santa.
You've made their day.
Santa winked.
Any time, Mitch.
Now, I've got a big night aheadof me.
(08:12):
They waved goodbye as Santaclimbed back onto his bike,
ready to pull his sleigh.
Merry Christmas, Santa called ashe roared off into the bush, his
bells jingling and his laughterechoing through the trees.
Jack and Bonnie rode their newbikes back toward camp, the
happiest they'd ever been.
You know what, Bonnie?
(08:33):
Jack said as they stopped tolook at the billabong one last
time.
What?
Bonnie asked.
