Speaker 1 (00:12):
Hey, people of a coat that is filthy.
I have to announce that I'mgoing away for a couple of weeks
to Kenya and I'm going to putthe show on a little bit of a
pause.
We've got some really greatinterviews coming up Some of the
people from the Pit which, ifyou're not watching, you should
be.
It's a great show.
Lots of stuff to tell you aboutthat on my return.
We've also got some other AIexperts that are coming in and

(00:32):
we've got some new AI modelscoming.
It's kind of crazy.
So we're going to hit pause fora couple of weeks.
While I'm away, I don't thinkI'll get a chance to post things
.
We are fortunate enough to getto go to Kenya every year for
the last I don't know how manyyears, helping train the
trainers in emergency medicine.
Emergency medicine is anemerging specialty across the
world, across Africa inparticular, and in Kenya.

(00:55):
So we get to go with a group ofpeople Britt Guest and her
fellow and a couple of residentsand go and do some training in
a number of the differenthospitals throughout Nairobi and
in Eldoret, in some of theprivate hospitals and some of
the public hospitals.
It's really an amazing time.
Kenyans are wonderful people.
It is a beautiful country andwe always come back inspired by

(01:16):
just how many people there justwant to give great care, amazing
care, to their people and weget to help be part of it.
It's interesting because Istarted emergency medicine in
australia in the early 1990s andwe were about 10 or 20 years
behind the us in terms ofemergency medicine training and
I got to see how this emergingspecialty was developing.

(01:37):
There were very few boardcertified emergency physicians
in australia at the time, and tosee how it's changed over time
and to see the challenges thenare the same challenges that are
happening in Kenya now.
So it's extraordinary to, atthis end of the career, to see
it starting again in anothercountry and just so fortunate to
be able to go over there andlend a hand.

(01:59):
Well, at least we hope we'relending a hand.
So pause for a couple of weeksand then we'll get back at it,
unless something magic occursand maybe I could do sort of
some travel logish, like what'shappening with medicine in kenya
while I'm away.
But I do have my portablesatellite dish.
Maybe that can happen.
It'll just depending on thetiming.
So thanks for listening to theshow.

(02:19):
It's been really, really wellreceived.
We've got lots and lots oflisteners and lots of feedback,
so thank you for that.
This has been a fun little sideproject of mine and when I get
back I got some other bigannouncements to make about
what's happening in all theworlds of the coat that is dirty
, so talk to you soon.
Be safe, herbert out Bye.
