Dr Mangattil Rajesh is a leading consultant orthopaedic and spine surgeon based in London, with over two decades of surgical experience and international training at some of the world’s top spine institutes. He currently serves as Clinical Lead for Complex Spine Surgery at The Royal London Hospital.

Specialising in minimally invasive techniques, Dr Rajesh is known for his patient-first approach, prioritising conservative care such as physiotherapy, injections, and advanced rehabilitation before ever considering surgery. His results speak for themselves, with over 80 percent of patients recovering without the need for an operation.

About this Episode -

In this episode I’m joined by my good friend and fellow orthopaedic surgeon Managttil. We’ve known each other for years and this was a raw honest chat about mindset healing and what it really takes to grow through pain.

We talked about how your body can transform when you start believing in yourself and the role positive thinking plays in recovery. I coached Managttil through his consultant exams so we reflected on that journey too and how structure clarity and mindset can break the cycle of self sabotage.

We dug into stress burnout and the toll that modern healthcare takes on doctors. I didn’t hold back about the NHS either and shared my frustrations with the bureaucracy and inefficiencies that put profit before people.

We also explored trauma self love and the unseen baggage many of us carry without even realising it. From changing expectations in medical training to the rising importance of emotional intelligence in patient care this conversation touched every corner of what it means to heal and to help others heal.

And if there’s one thing we agreed on it’s this, the body is incredible the mind even more so and when you learn to live fully in the now everything changes.
