Speaker 1 (00:04):
All right. It is dog House Sports on the iHeart
Radio app. And I think I sound pretty good right now.
I don't know if I do or not.
Speaker 2 (00:11):
I'll just be honest with you. That is Cisco. By
the way.
Speaker 1 (00:14):
I set all this up myself, so I don't I
don't know if it's gonna sound good too friggin' bad.
Speaker 2 (00:20):
Yeah, you know what I'm saying. I think in post
production it's gonna sound fine.
Speaker 1 (00:25):
Welcome everybody. This is episode three of dog House Sports.
My name is Elvis. Derek Dies will be with us
on our next show, Derek dse Of course the former
forty nine are super Bowl Yeah, man number sixty three,
and you know it's you know, by the way, this
is Cisco, my friend. Nobody see you, brother, We hear bones. Yeah,
we're in Las Vegas. Cisco and I are both in
Las Vegas, and it's interesting to meet you and then
(00:50):
know that you actually were in the Bay Area absolutely
during the time that actually I had a really big
radio show when radio was a thing.
Speaker 2 (00:58):
What a time to be alive. Yeah, it really was.
Speaker 1 (01:01):
And there was you know now with for those people
that don't know, The Doghouse was a radio show in
the Bay Area from a nineteen ninety four good I'm
old nineteen ninety four pill about two thousand and seven. Yeah,
and then we have fired wrongfully terminated. We beat them
in arbitration. We went to New York City to the
first show out of Howard Stern Studio in New York City.
Speaker 2 (01:21):
Those are stories for another time. Yes, absolutely legends, but
in my own mind.
Speaker 1 (01:25):
But here's the thing. Here's the thing. My partner and
my good friend of thirty plusu heres JB.
Speaker 2 (01:30):
Pass last year ress in peace.
Speaker 1 (01:32):
Yeah, and he was I've mentioned this before, but he
was the most talented, creative.
Speaker 2 (01:38):
Driven sent the gun that I will ever know. And
he made me better.
Speaker 1 (01:41):
Yeah, absolutely, And he made me better to the point
where I knew if he was laughing at.
Speaker 2 (01:46):
What I said, Yeah, then it was fun funny.
Speaker 1 (01:48):
Yeah, because and you know what what's crazy is that
he did pass away last year because he did have
people know this story.
Speaker 2 (01:54):
Yeah, on the Bay Area.
Speaker 1 (01:55):
He hadline disease and unfortunately the COVID back scene brought
it in, all these infections in his brain and he
suffered for two straight years. Yeah. And I'm not going
to get into details, but I mentioned this, I think
on our first podcast. He actually I got an email
from him five days after he passed away and he
gets scheduled and it.
Speaker 2 (02:14):
Was just to think about it tears me up because
of what he was going through.
Speaker 1 (02:18):
But for him to say the things to me that
he did, say, wow, yeah it was, it was. It's
just a tragedy. But now what I'm doing is bringing
back doghouse or bringing you know, forming doghouse sports. Yeah,
I'm bringing sports, which I'm just a total fanatic about.
Speaker 2 (02:35):
And think about it. We'll do it.
Speaker 1 (02:37):
We'll do it with fun. Absolutely a little bit of
doghouse vibe. Yes, but this will never be the dog house.
People going, hey, are you going to do break calls?
Speaker 2 (02:43):
Yeah?
Speaker 1 (02:44):
No, people, this is a Subsidnario dog house. Yeah, those
days are over. That's it was when and by the way,
everybody does break calls now. Mine were actually real.
Speaker 2 (02:54):
Yeah, you know I always say that I was.
Speaker 3 (02:56):
When I listen to these prank calls time here, They're
all like, man, come on, you have got to go
to the pioneers of this where your prank calls are
back in the day were the ones well, and I had.
Speaker 2 (03:05):
To learn because Jami's you're doing these every day.
Speaker 1 (03:07):
Oh god, But back in the day, dude, they check this.
Back in the day, it was what it was before
digital audio. So yeah, I was recording everything on real
to real tape, man, and I would I would get
and on the air we would say, hey, go ahead
and uh, you know, email the doghouse at dogs Wild
at aol dot com. I still have that email address,
by the way, I've still got wow.
Speaker 2 (03:27):
Yeah, And we would before that, we would take factions.
Speaker 1 (03:30):
Yeah, and I would get in every morning at like
four o'clock and there were raams and faxes. Then after
the show, after we did the doghouse, I would go
through the faxes and line them up and then I
would just hit record on this team, man, and it
would go forever and if.
Speaker 2 (03:43):
I got a good one grade.
Speaker 1 (03:44):
And then editing was a whole different story because you
would have to edit with a grease pencil, raise a
blade and actual splice here you'd have to actually use tape.
So it was it's a different time. But yeah, ours
were real and unfortunately we got in trouble at quite
a few times. There's a few stories on that there is,
And you know, back then it was we were owned
by a company called clear channel.
Speaker 2 (04:05):
And they pull me in.
Speaker 1 (04:07):
Hey, we're gonna pay this lady off. I'm like, why
are you picking her up? Yeah, we're gonna do it.
But just associate, doesn't you know? Raise of Steak and yeah,
distress sun right, keep doing them. They're old, I mean
curs right, okay, all right?
Speaker 2 (04:20):
Not good good. So let's get into sports here.
Speaker 1 (04:23):
Oh by the way, so tell people Cisco what you're
doing now, because you are huge in the music scene. Man,
what kind of music are you specifically into? Because I
love it. It's kind of like.
Speaker 2 (04:33):
I'm not gonna, you know, put you you know, because
I don't know is it? Is it Hawaiian?
Speaker 3 (04:37):
Is it?
Speaker 1 (04:37):
You know?
Speaker 2 (04:37):
What I did it?
Speaker 3 (04:38):
I kind of coined the term where they do have
island reggae. So island reggae is a part of it
reggae and island reggae is a part of field good music.
What I've coined the term with what the kind of
music that I have. Feel good music is all music
that makes you feel good, right, Yes, So we get
island reggae, we get old school R and b oh
school hip hop, kind of mess it all together. Love
and that you have it. Yeah, it's a beautiful thing.
I'm traveling the world doing. I love so you created
a genre. Yes, yes, absolutely, But.
Speaker 2 (05:00):
I see you do these concerts and they're pat.
Speaker 3 (05:02):
Oh yeah, the concerts. I like the whole hell of
festival that I do. We're doing an Ocean Side in
January eighteenth. Well night, We've been going everywhere. Las Vegas
is in April. But these festivals pulling like ten to
twelve thousand people per show.
Speaker 2 (05:13):
Maybe I can get a ticket away. Absolutely, yeah, all day.
Speaker 1 (05:18):
You know we used to do doghouse. Yeah, and we're
gonna get to sports. I know it's doghouse sports, but
shut up, leave me alone.
Speaker 2 (05:24):
I have somebody in here that I actually vibe with
really well. Absolutely, you know what. I love Derek.
Speaker 1 (05:28):
I love my producer Danny, but in person is a
lot different. Come on, I got to do it in
person though, was Yeah, we do this, I exactly, And
I apologize if the audio is all jacked up right now.
This is me setting everything up, and I'm gonna turn
your mic off for a second. Okay, okay, now that's
what it sounds like, which is mine. Then I turn
yours on.
Speaker 3 (05:47):
Ah, and there's a bit of like a list there's
like a blending thing somewhere that when we're missing, right, that's.
Speaker 2 (05:52):
Thinking about Tika. Believe me. Look, I had the instructions.
I had the instruction book let out. I see, I see.
I was like, okay, how do I get rid of
that there? God?
Speaker 3 (06:03):
Yeah, and you have some sound guy listening say, oh,
you've got to press that button, don't We can't follow.
Speaker 2 (06:07):
Yeah, we're actually just recording audio.
Speaker 1 (06:09):
And I want to first of all, think ihearty San Francisco.
We're gonna be on the iHeart Sports Bay area right now.
It's interesting they put us up on the Wild ninety
four nine page.
Speaker 2 (06:20):
Wow. Yeah, that's a blast from the past.
Speaker 1 (06:22):
It really well, it's like you know, because what they've
done is they've launched this new iHeart Sports based area.
It's called iHeart Sports Talking More. And I contacted him
like before they went they go, oh, wait, you're doing sports. Wait,
we're launching the station. I'm like, wait, what yeah, let
me do your digital content. So we had these conversations
and I've had I just met a couple of weeks ago.
I was in the city, San Francisco. If you don't
(06:43):
know what this idea is with the market manager. And
he's like, oh wow, okay, this that because, as we
both know, Las Vegas is the sports mecha.
Speaker 2 (06:53):
I mean think about sports betting mecha, right well, sports gaming.
Speaker 1 (06:56):
Yeah, listen, if you're sports gaming or your sports gaming
app and you a Spots or US.
Speaker 2 (07:01):
Come on, by all means, seriously, by all means, yes,
nobody's doing this, and we're gonna be out live. It's
sports books, happening events.
Speaker 1 (07:06):
And sports venues, and we bring this kind of vibe
and energy everywhere where we go.
Speaker 3 (07:10):
So and what are they gonna find this one two punch,
you know, expecting Derek Dese being an.
Speaker 1 (07:14):
NFL Oh, yeah, we'll have him out there. And yeah, yeah,
and I got this producer Danny. I'm not sure, not kidding.
He's actually awesome. I mean he's want of these young
kids that you know, just goes, let me do it, hungry,
let me figure it out.
Speaker 2 (07:25):
Yeah. There's a lot of people in life now they
just don't. I don't.
Speaker 1 (07:28):
And I'm not picking on millennials, but you sucked. It's like,
think about it. It's oh, I don't know how to
do it.
Speaker 2 (07:35):
Give it to me. I don't. I don't either, but
I'll figure it out. YouTube University was a thank you
or Google you idiots? So where were we? Because I
don't know you. You're so you're what you do here
for what you're doing now.
Speaker 1 (07:47):
And then you know everybody also, man, yeah, you know
everybody in the bay here in Vegas, and you travel
the world and you.
Speaker 2 (07:53):
Put out of these great shows. And I was listening
to music and going, man, the chick's got to love this,
you know.
Speaker 3 (07:58):
It's that kind of music. You shit starts taking off
the clothes because they're feeling good.
Speaker 1 (08:02):
Feel good music. Point the term see I love it. Yeah,
did you trademark that we did?
Speaker 3 (08:07):
It's all of the mettle to patents and trademarks and
all that right now. So we're trying to get all
that together.
Speaker 2 (08:11):
I actually patton dog out or trademark Doghouse sports that
you should yeah, dog out.
Speaker 3 (08:15):
You can't run synonymous with jv Elvision the whole team
back in the day where Doghouse was everything right, and
and the.
Speaker 2 (08:22):
Thing is there's some people like, oh, well you know
there's a doghouse. There's I don't care.
Speaker 1 (08:25):
Everybody's doing what we did and nobody's doing what we're doing.
No one cares about the doghouse bar down.
Speaker 2 (08:29):
The street that you know, and that's fine.
Speaker 1 (08:30):
Actually there's a doghouse saloon here in Vegas, yes, at
Resorts World. And by the way, if you'd like us
to come down there, come on, listen, it makes sense.
We're not we're not free, but we're not we're not
expensive either. We'll come down there and we'll blow it up. Absolutely.
Guess what we're on. iHeart now, come on, iHeart Radio.
iHeart Radio. iHeart Podcast network is the number one podcast
(08:50):
network in the world.
Speaker 2 (08:52):
Yes, so let's get to some sports here. You're a
big nighter guy. Yes, absolutely. And last week they they
lost to the Rams. Shambles. I'm in shambles right now
because of it.
Speaker 1 (09:00):
It is, and it's so weird to see them so
dominant for the last two years. A couple of Super
Bowls lost. In book, it's okay. A lot of teams
never get to the Super Bowl. My Chargers got to
one and lost to the Niners in ninety four. By
the way, that's Derek Deson. I go back and forth
with man because he was on our show.
Speaker 2 (09:16):
Yeah. I first started a hot ninety.
Speaker 1 (09:18):
Seven seven at San Jose and it was like I
had to like wear a Niner jersey and underwear and
like that women's underwear something like that, and they just
destroyed him. But that was the last time that the
forty nine ers actually want to see Yeah I was yeah,
ninety four. But to see them recently be good with this.
You know, Kyle Shanahan, John Lynch, who's the general manager,
went to my high school in Santiago, Tory Pines.
Speaker 2 (09:40):
Hey, hey, Tory Pines. But to see them now with injuries
and you know, I just think back, well, maybe he
had something to do with that. Trey Lance Grade ah Man.
Speaker 3 (09:50):
We don't want to talk about that trade. I mean
our window for opportunity for suer why I felt closed
last year? Yeah, I think it was getting smaller and smaller.
And I think this year was kind of a show
improve yere and unfortunately with the injury bug where everybody
nay Mama was hurt where I mean, and we're not
talking about just injuries, We're talking about like some life
problems we have, you know, Trent Williams losing a still
Moore child and Tarvarious Ward losing his one year old
(10:10):
daughter so awful. A lot of stuff hit the team.
I think all at the same time, Christian McCaffrey dealing
with his achilles injury. So Brandon I got for the
season after getting that money. So yeah, there's a number
of things that kind of like drew what it was
to during to get the rand. We shouldn't have been
in that position anyway, but we had to like win
every game. You got to losing that game, were going
(10:31):
to lose.
Speaker 2 (10:31):
Yes.
Speaker 3 (10:32):
So my whole theory on it being a Fortynineter fan
was like, I'm glad it happened. Then then for us
to be like right at the playoffs and then it
happened there. It's a little bit less stressed and a
little bit less pain if you do it that way.
Speaker 1 (10:42):
And then I think back about Heather being up Chiefs
in the Super Bowl. I was there, I was there.
It was it was TSDTS that I'll never get over.
So now they've got a situation where they back to
the create Lands trade they traded away was it three
number ones for him?
Speaker 2 (11:00):
Too many too, there's too many, But I think back
that they're giving them some real depth.
Speaker 3 (11:04):
Yeah, this year you kind of look at what it
was to I mean, it's a lot of these trades
that go down with general managers and coaches. You really
don't know what you're losing until you know what you're
losing one hundred percent in a sense. But I think
with this team that we have, you know, we still
got to sign Rock Party, and I think that's gonna be.
People are so hard on Brock Party all over sports
and analysts and ESPN and all these different ones. But
(11:25):
I think he is definitely a franchise quarterback. I think
you put the right things around him. He's a Shanahan
system quarterback exactly, but he's also he's a game manager.
Speaker 2 (11:34):
But he's just kint a raw deal this year.
Speaker 1 (11:35):
Yeah, he really did, and now they're gonna have to
pay him probably fifty five fifty plus million.
Speaker 2 (11:39):
Yeah at it. But then I think back, is he
worth that? Because then you cannot sign other players to
help this roster.
Speaker 1 (11:46):
You're gonna have to maybe cut a Deebo Samuel, You're
gonna have to possibly let Trent Williams go.
Speaker 2 (11:52):
You're gonna have to you know, move forward and not
have some of those pieces that got you to a
couple of Super Bowls.
Speaker 3 (11:58):
You know, then you look at it where it as
as a whole now you're in the rebuilding process. Now,
you got to know that the next couple of years
are not going to be the playoff years. Yeah, so
I mean you got I got to take you with
it so I could be a fan but also be
a realist with football. Right and you see like how
Detroit right now, Detroit with Dan Campbell, they're coming.
Speaker 2 (12:12):
Up big window.
Speaker 3 (12:15):
Yeah, I definitely think they'll represent the NFC with Detroit.
But with Dan Campbell, he got those guys goings, a
players coach, he got a lot of young guys over there,
plus golf is over there. So you know, when you
when you were a Niners fan, you got to kind
of look at the whole picture. I'm a football fan
through and through too, but you always got to see, like,
you know, this Devondra Campbell thing that went like Law.
Speaker 1 (12:34):
By the way, so let's go into that real Yeah, absolutely,
Dray Greenlaw was hurt beginning or last season, right, he
got hurt of the Super Bowl, got hurt in the
Super Bowl, and then he was out, so they needed
somebody as his back.
Speaker 3 (12:45):
This guy to a one year deal, so he knew
what he was signing for. Yeah, he signed a one
year deal. He knew he was coming in to kind
of take the placeholder for Drake green Law until he
came back Bay. Yes, he's good on green Bay and
he came in this year watching him, that was the
hole in our defense. Like you knew he was making
the plays, but he wasn't making the plays that Drake
Greenlaw was making.
Speaker 1 (13:03):
It.
Speaker 3 (13:04):
No, but when Drake Greenlaw played this game, when he
came back, he was making plays for the.
Speaker 2 (13:08):
First three quarters per first half. He was making a
place again.
Speaker 3 (13:11):
But then you got Devondra Campbell who's been playing all year.
And as a football player, I get it. You're like,
I've been playing all year. Now you have the start
a coming back. You have to know your role this. Yes,
you came in for a one year deal, so when
you come in for when you do and then the
starter comes back, know your role. Drake Greenlaw got hurt
at halftime. Shanahan's like going, He's like, no, I don't
want to play. I don't want to play as a
(13:33):
football player. That is like the Black Widows Kiss of Death. Wow,
because not just for the.
Speaker 2 (13:37):
Forty nine ers.
Speaker 3 (13:38):
I don't think you ever played in this league again.
Oh no, no, yeah, yeah, absolutely.
Speaker 1 (13:41):
Unless there is somebody that's going to take a flyer
on him and it's like a one instead.
Speaker 2 (13:45):
Of incentive based contract.
Speaker 3 (13:47):
Yeah, but you with so much talent out there nowadays,
I think that you really did hold oh young telling
that's out there.
Speaker 2 (13:53):
But like I said, he did it to himself.
Speaker 3 (13:54):
Yeah, and just to kind of see unfortunate him being
on team and that kind of ruffles up.
Speaker 2 (13:58):
Thank got her out of the playoff picture.
Speaker 3 (14:00):
Yeah, because imagine if we were still in it and
for that to kind of have that whole stickler into
the locker room, like you know, you had Tavaria's War
talking about it, George Kittle talking about it. Now you've
got the team kind of ruffling their feathers. Well, now
we can ruffle without a playoff.
Speaker 1 (14:11):
Well he's gone because even Shannon said, yeah, it's probably
it for him, absolutely deservedly, so they don't give up
on your team like that.
Speaker 2 (14:17):
You play football, yeah, absolutely? Where'd you play?
Speaker 3 (14:19):
Played football at South San Francisco High School and then
I went to City College at San Francisco. I went
to a couple of colleges, but then I was like, ah,
different time, yeah, a different time, And I was like,
you know, let me and then I had kids, and
then when I had kids, I got to live through them.
Speaker 1 (14:29):
Called a priority absolute. So you get to play football
or you could be a follow. So I'm gonna show
you a picture. I know this is audio, but I
played football for one year. Let's see it. Elvis eleventh.
Speaker 2 (14:37):
There goes my guy, good Randy Cross right here. That
is a good look at the helmet on this. This
is amazing.
Speaker 1 (14:45):
So I will post this picture when we post the
podcast of me as a football player.
Speaker 2 (14:50):
That was amazing. Teen seventy eight. This is where they
filmed Lucas with so the picture itself. Wow.
Speaker 1 (14:58):
I got to the school and I've been a couple
of years, and I played baseball. Baseball was my sport, yes,
and I played freshman basketball. I was awful, in fact
for freshman basketball. I gotta I got sit down with
these other two lumpy dudes like myself. Go listen, you guys,
you're never gonna play, but we want you on the team.
Speaker 2 (15:14):
But if you look at you, your number is fifty six.
Speaker 3 (15:16):
At that time, that was like a time where Lawrence
Taylor was playing, So yeah, you had to be an
intimidated you guy.
Speaker 1 (15:21):
He looked to it right there. I'm gonna post. I'm
gonna post this picture. It's me and my football uniform.
It's the helmet itself. They all the guys had new
right al helmet. Yes, this was something that was in
the way back.
Speaker 2 (15:32):
Because I have a big head. I see it and
I think there was a screw loose in sight of it.
I was terrible, but I was doing for those watching me,
those listenings to this.
Speaker 3 (15:42):
Think of Lucas and think of that helmet, and that's
the exact helmet they had. That Helvis like told.
Speaker 2 (15:49):
Us her something. That's how we long type le Alzado
type FA the three bars with one in the center.
I mean, it's so long ago. I should have been
a leather helmet, you know, it should have been a
leather helmet. Jesus, that's awesome picture. Right now, I'm gonna
I'll post that.
Speaker 1 (16:02):
By the way, you can follow us at Real Doghouse
Sports at Real Doghouse Sports on Instagram. Yeah, it's a
I played football, but it wasn't well. But I think
we've had this conversation.
Speaker 2 (16:14):
You and I.
Speaker 1 (16:15):
I'm just obsessed with football, and it's I make this
joke all the time. It's not really a joke. The
NFL is actually my girlfriend, and I know she's breaking
up with me. Absolutely, that woman is always coming back. Yes,
I always will be back. And the beautiful thing about
the NFL, and actually college football is growing on me.
It's getting right up close there because of the transfer portal,
(16:35):
nil and all these things, and.
Speaker 2 (16:37):
It's it's being it's being very it's become very transactional.
Now it's a business now, it really is.
Speaker 1 (16:42):
Well, it's always been a business that always been making
Now the players can actually show they're making money as
opposed to hiking it. You know, like Reggie Bush got
his Heisman back. You know, I mean think about that. So, yeah,
I did play football, but not well so Devadery Campbell
is Thunder Campbell.
Speaker 2 (16:57):
Right, whatever it is, we don't need to know anymore
screwing up. So Nighters are done. Yes, what does to
do with the NFC Worst West? I mean think about it.
Speaker 1 (17:05):
It's you got four teams again, the Niners, Seahawks, Arizona Cardinals,
and the Rams.
Speaker 2 (17:09):
Yeah, I say, look at for the Rams.
Speaker 3 (17:11):
Yeah, I think that they're one of the teams to
watch right now, especially for the NFC West. But I
think it's all us NFC West always being a strong powerhouse,
you know division. I think this year it's obviously coming
from where Detroit is at and you know in Minnesota
is looking at.
Speaker 2 (17:23):
It right now.
Speaker 3 (17:24):
Yeah, out of all the NMC West teams, like you said,
I think the Rams are going to be the one.
If anybody's gonna make any noise out of that division,
it'll be the Rams.
Speaker 1 (17:30):
Because they've got Cooper Cup and Nikua and Nikoua makes
some of the catches I can't believe.
Speaker 3 (17:36):
Yeah, Nicoua, he's definitely came in and kind of took
over that whole receiving core.
Speaker 2 (17:42):
And you know Arizona and.
Speaker 3 (17:44):
Yeah whatever, nothing special about the Seattle either, Like Seattle
is in first place right now. But I think, you know,
they needed us to beat the Rams, which I think
the Rams will win the NFC West. I do too,
and I think they'll be the representation of the West
throughout the week.
Speaker 2 (17:57):
They could win it just with even a nine to
eight they win.
Speaker 1 (18:00):
If they win the frigate NFC West, they're like a
wild card even if they do that as well. So
college football, one of the biggest stories this week was
Bill Belichick, Man, the former of course, super.
Speaker 2 (18:12):
Bowl champion, six times super Bowl champion with New England Patriots.
For that he was with the Browns. I think he
screwed over the.
Speaker 1 (18:17):
Jets at one point. I think he took the Jets
job for a minute and then New England came up
and he goes, I'm out.
Speaker 2 (18:22):
Yeah, smart movees. Something happened there.
Speaker 3 (18:24):
Yeah, But I mean for him to go to UNC
and North Carolina, I didn't see that coming out of
a five year deal. Yeah, that's crazy. Two years old
and not even try to go to the NFL. He
went straight, not backwards, but he went to a you know,
to a college team which is not even a power.
Speaker 2 (18:38):
It's a basketball school.
Speaker 1 (18:39):
Yes, it shows how serious they are, absolute ball and
competing in the accause he's took my money on him.
Speaker 2 (18:45):
Oh he's think of like ten or fifteen millionaire.
Speaker 1 (18:48):
But what that does is it automatic automatically makes them somebody.
Speaker 2 (18:53):
To watch with or lose.
Speaker 1 (18:55):
They're gonna be He's gonna get players because I mean,
think about it.
Speaker 3 (18:58):
So we've seen what Primetime did with it with Colorado.
No one really wanted to go there until you went
over there, and I think the same thing's gonna happen
with Belichick. Yep, at UNC and now they say, Okay,
that great. You know NFL legend coach over there. I
want my kid to go over there. So it makes
the decision a little bit easier for kids.
Speaker 2 (19:12):
And I don't think at age seventy two.
Speaker 1 (19:13):
By the way, you see his girlfriend, Oh my god,
she's like, what twenty something, twenty twenty.
Speaker 2 (19:17):
Four, he's seventy two. See, that's just go ahead, Bill.
Are you a single guy? God? I am single guy?
Good me too. So here's the thing about that.
Speaker 1 (19:24):
I'm I'll just say it. I'm sixty two. Yeah, and
I like younger women. Yeah.
Speaker 2 (19:29):
My girlfriend, potential girlfriend is still in high school right now.
If I go with this, thank you, Bill, She's still
in freaking high school. Great now, everyone, honey, if you're
listening right now, don't don't deal with little Jimmy over there.
Just save yourself for me. You know, I'm good like that.
Speaker 1 (19:45):
Absolutely, Just save yourself for Grandpa. Yeah, Bill Belichick, he's
definitely holding it up for him. Good first setting the
bar high major prop. So we're recording this now, and
the Heisman Trophy, ma'am, it's coming up later today. We're
recording this on a Saturday. There are four candidate. It's
you've got Dylan Gabriel Oregon. You've got Shaudeur Sanders from Colorado,
Travis Hunter, Travis Hunter and Ashton john t.
Speaker 2 (20:07):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (20:08):
This to me is a no brainers Travis Hunter all
the way through and through because nobody has been I mean,
I think he's a generational talent to be Yeah, to
play both sides of the ball one hundred and thirty
STAPs per game. Yeah, and dominate as far as a
wide receiver, and to be a shutdown corner.
Speaker 2 (20:25):
They don't even throw it him out.
Speaker 3 (20:27):
And everyone thought, because you know, being me, being Smolle
and me would have to go for Dylan Gabriel. I
got the kid out of Hawaiian. Yes, but my theory
on him is that he's a six year senior. Yeah,
and I feel like, you know, players like him, Bo Nicks,
the players like.
Speaker 2 (20:39):
Get out of college. Yeah, got that little for year.
Speaker 3 (20:41):
If you played more than four you you shouldn't even
be available to be a heismancic.
Speaker 1 (20:45):
Degree or you just go you're chaperoning the other players.
You know what I'm saying. I think Dylan Gabriel is
going to be a good pro.
Speaker 2 (20:51):
Absolutely.
Speaker 1 (20:51):
I think in the draft coming up in April, Yeah,
that the only two quarterbacks taking the.
Speaker 2 (20:56):
First round award in shouldwear Sanders. Yeah.
Speaker 1 (20:58):
Yeah, And I don't think there's gonna be another quarterback
taken in the first round.
Speaker 2 (21:01):
I think.
Speaker 1 (21:02):
I mean, with what I'm seeing, I'm thinking he's going
to go to the Raiders. Raiders Giants the perfect fit.
But the Giants too, but not for him. It's yeah,
I mean think about that. He's got a choice of
two teams that have been Now think about this, The
Giants have actually want to cook a couple of Super
Bowls in our lifetime. The Raiders, they've been awful for
decades and until Mark Davis decides to set aside and
(21:25):
bringing a president of football operations, to bring in a
general manager, to bring any good head coach that can
develop these whoever it is. If it's camp Warder for it,
sor Sanders, I don't see that being a success.
Speaker 3 (21:39):
And I just see that with Dallas with the Jerry
Jones and still run the show as the owner. But
you know, I think, what does the Raiders have to
lose if they take a chance on getting shaudor Sanders
as a quarterback and then news flash, you get Deon
Sanders the head coach. I mean, Antonio appears a cool guy,
but I just don't think.
Speaker 2 (21:56):
He's a heading coach.
Speaker 1 (21:57):
Yeah, definitely, he's heat at best, but he wasn't even
a court native before this was a lineback.
Speaker 2 (22:02):
Yeah, let me think about that.
Speaker 1 (22:03):
But it's because that's what happens when you let the
the what is it the inmates run the asylum. You know,
when you do that, it's like, man, you don't let
the players make the decisions.
Speaker 2 (22:13):
That's why.
Speaker 3 (22:14):
And now they got pushed into that. And I think
if you get Dian over there, you get his son.
Now you have the storybook story right there that you
looking for, and the probably.
Speaker 2 (22:22):
Because Dan'll say I'm only coming if you also draft show.
Speaker 3 (22:25):
Yeah exactly. You know Dion's gonna he did it with Colorado.
He's gonna go where he needs to go and go needs.
Speaker 1 (22:30):
But I heard Travis Hunters said yesterday, Hey, Dan's not
going anywhere.
Speaker 2 (22:34):
Yeah, so that means he's probably coming. But I do
think for Heisman, Travis Hunter is going to be the
Hunter runaway set. But you can't discount what Ashton john
t is. Oh my God, that guy is well you
look at him.
Speaker 3 (22:47):
The last running back to do was Dereck Henry, and
then you look at Derek Henry didn't even have the
numbers that Jens Hill. So doing it at Boise as
well too, so I think.
Speaker 2 (22:55):
But that's that's Boise, that's the issue.
Speaker 1 (22:58):
That's why he's not even you know, even though it's
gonna be a runaway with Travis Hunter, I believe. I
don't think being in the Mountain West is gonna.
Speaker 2 (23:06):
Help him at all.
Speaker 1 (23:07):
No, So it's okay, he's gonna be a great bro.
I see him going top ten. Actually, running backs haven't gone.
Speaker 2 (23:13):
To the top ten and probably another last five seven years,
you know. So it's definitely gonna make some waves in
the fen. She goes to Cowboys. Yeah, they need one,
need one right now. You know Jerry Jones, he'll mess
it up, of course. Yeah.
Speaker 1 (23:24):
And if you're a Cowboy fan, you know, you're a joke.
If you're a Raider, if you're a Raider fan, you
know you know what. I like it when I don't.
I don't hate anybody, but I do hate the Raiders.
Growing up in San Diego, I hate them. It's more
I hate the fans.
Speaker 2 (23:38):
Yeah, fan base. I'm just kidding, not all the fans.
Speaker 1 (23:41):
But we used to sit there in San Diego and
the La Raider fans used to come down and just
destroy our stadium and it was gnarly and it was brutal,
and I just but the NFL is better when the
Raiders and Cowboys are good. Yes, And it's always that
you can hate them, you know, And that's that's the
teams you love to hate.
Speaker 3 (23:57):
I mean as a fan base, you have the Cowboy fans,
you have the Raider fans, but they're the fan bases
that you let to hate.
Speaker 2 (24:02):
And when they do do good, Yeah, we don't hear
the end of it. Do doo? Yeah?
Speaker 3 (24:06):
Oh with us with San Francisco, we're so used. I
always say, Raider fans are used to losing. Yeah, Niner
fans were used to winning, and then we do lose.
It's kind of like, man, what happened?
Speaker 1 (24:14):
Right?
Speaker 2 (24:14):
Where's the where's the finger pointing? Going out? So one
more season? Yeah?
Speaker 1 (24:17):
I think Kyle Shanahan is zero for three calling plays
in the Super Bowl.
Speaker 2 (24:21):
You know, he was the OC at the Atlanta Falcons.
Speaker 1 (24:25):
Yeah, was up twenty eight to three on Tom Brady
lost that game because he played it safe.
Speaker 2 (24:29):
Uh.
Speaker 1 (24:29):
He's been play calling for the last two Super Bowls
that they lost to the k City Chiefs twice.
Speaker 2 (24:34):
Yeah, and now it's like, how long do you go
with this guy? Yeah?
Speaker 3 (24:38):
I mean I'm even seeing it in the play calling
now when I against the Rams, like, play calling is horrible.
I mean everyone could be a couch coach at that time,
but armchair quarterbacks. But you're over there running the ball
in third and six with Deebo up the middle, and
as a football fan, you're like, why what was that call?
I know, so you got you got all these other
you got Jawan Jennings, Jennys saw them through. Yeah, he's
(25:00):
but to lose, to lose, I you that was rude?
Or after paying them what they paid, well, then you
know they paid.
Speaker 2 (25:07):
They paid CMC too. Yeah, yeah, twenty plus billion. He's
not paid running back the league deservedly so. But I
think him and Deebo might be gone after this.
Speaker 3 (25:15):
I do think Deebo for sure will be gone. I
think with what he's had and what he's been doing,
you know, give me the ball and then you've done
what he did. So especially when you call on Twitter
or X whatever it's called. Now, Yeah, he goes like,
just get me the ball and then you drop for
sure a touchdown that could have been the game winner.
Speaker 2 (25:28):
For like I said, I'm still in my feelings about
that game. Yes, hear them now you crying? Hey man,
I appreciate you doing this with that. I appreciate being here.
