When talking about setting and achieving goals, structural tension doesn't work automatically. There's a condition that has to be met. You have to be able to hold both sides simultaneously.
If one side collapses, the tension collapses. Andwhen the tension collapses, the engine goes quiet.

Most of us live with a fear or otherwise unhealthy relationship with the gap in goal setting. This gap is structural tension, the relationship between two things: where you are right now, and where you want to be.
The gap isn't a problem. It's the engine.
