Meghan (00:04):
Hey y'all, welcome to
Fearlessly Female.
We are Megan and Brittany, thehosts of your podcast.
It was born out of ambition, drive and a lot of wine.
We're two powerhouse comedicwomen who are having uncensored
conversations about topics thataffect women.
We're two powerhouse comedicwomen who are having uncensored
(00:25):
conversations about topics thataffect women.
We're airing all the dirtylaundry, so grab your favorite
drink and give us a listen.
Brittany (00:33):
Today's podcast is
Ladies Behind Fearlessly Female,
and why Are we Uncensored?
Meghan (00:40):
So a little introduction
to us.
We are ex-Californians, we aregrad graduates and we have wine
filled systems.
Why should you listen to us?
Brittany (00:51):
So I think we should
probably give them a little
background.
What do you think?
Meghan (00:55):
Yeah, I think you're
right.
So see, what had happened waswe were chilling in a pool.
Brittany, why don't you tell usabout your Latinx husband and
why this all came about?
Brittany (01:08):
So my Latinx here
decided that we should have a
podcast and it really just kindof unfolded just like that.
We like to call him our ideaincubator.
So he just kind of spitballsall these random ideas and one
of them eventually just kind ofsticks and we just roll with it
and keep going.
Meghan (01:26):
You think it was a
little bit longer than that, but
it wasn't.
We're both entrepreneurs atheart and I find Brittany's
energy infectious, so we made ithappen.
Let's talk a little bit aboutus, our friendship, and maybe a
little bit about our backgroundand get into why they should be
(01:47):
listening to us.
So we met in grad school, but, brittany, the details are a bit
fuzzy for me.
Do you remember how we becamefriends?
Brittany (01:57):
I think it started not
to quote George Strait here,
but when you passed me a note inclass and it was like oh yeah,
I want to be your friend oryou're going to be my friend.
You know, check yes or no, butno was not an option.
So I tend to make a lot of myfriends that way.
I tend to be introverted andthese extroverts just kind of
latch on.
Meghan (02:15):
It's like you over there
, we're going to be friends,
you're mine now that soundspretty much like me, but it's
been incredible to think aboutus in grad school versus where
we're at now starting thispodcast together and really just
getting a deeper bond that'sdeveloped through the crazy life
(02:38):
situations that we've both gonethrough.
Crazy can maybe break you apart, but I think for us it bonded
us.
Brittany (02:48):
Oh yeah, definitely,
and also to the Anais Follies
when you kind of recruited mefor that too.
That was fun and definitely aunique experience, never a dull
moment.
Meghan (03:00):
I think we probably need
to explain Anais Follies for
our listeners.
So I run a drinking club.
Yes, it is a drinking club.
It is not a book club.
I'm not, you know, sugarcoatingsomething.
It is absolutely a drinkingclub called Anna's Follies.
It's French for the crazy years.
It's a reference to the 1920sand prohibition, but when I
(03:24):
started it in 2020, it was kindof a happy accident of the crazy
years, so it worked out.
But Brittany joined Anna'sFollies and really keeping that
1920s spirit alive had to dosome smuggling of alcohol across
state lines for me, so wedefinitely grew close through
(03:45):
that as well.
Brittany (03:48):
Oh my gosh, so much
fun.
How about do you want to givethem a little bit about your
background and maybe kind ofwhat you do Like during your day
job?
Meghan (03:58):
Yeah for sure.
So I work in human resources.
I'm very passionate aboutcareer development.
I've been in the utilityindustry a male-dominated
industry, though which industryis not and it's a very
risk-averse environment.
So, exactly opposite of beingan entrepreneur and launching a
(04:20):
podcast, it's been a greatcareer, and these stories are
going to come out through thispodcast the good, the bad, the
ugly that I want to be able toshare for you.
For me, personally, I would sayI thrive on experiences.
Brittany says I'm anindependent woman who bought my
own house and I'm running my ownship.
(04:41):
Um, but really, for me, what Iwant to share and bring to this
podcast is I've tripped and fellso many times along my journey
and I just want to pass alongthose mistakes so that others
can learn from them and not makethe same ones.
How about you, brittany?
What are your baseball cardstats, as you like to call it?
Brittany (05:03):
My background's in
finance, so it's a heavily
similar to you, a heavilydominated bro culture.
So a lot of dudes, a lot ofguys named Mike I mean, throw
out Mike.
Someone's going to answerAccounting, you know.
Meghan (05:17):
I never met a bad Mike.
I never met a bad Mike.
There's a bad, like John's,maybe Chris's, but not a bad
Mike.
Don't get me started on John.
Brittany (05:31):
But yeah, so it's just
, it's been an interesting
journey and you know I kind ofpivoted a little bit away from
you know, maybe climbing thecorporate ladder into more of an
entrepreneurial kind of mindset.
I guess I'm really intoinvesting in my personal life
and, same thing with you, I'vetripped and fell, made mistakes,
(05:51):
lost a lot of money, but it'skind of what you learn along the
way and it's the stuff theydon't necessarily teach you in
school or kind of the real worldapplication of it that I kind
of want to just, you know, sharewith other people.
I came from like a very likemodest background, risk adverse.
You know you grow up, go toschool, get a job, you stay
there and you retire, get yourpension, and you know kind of
(06:12):
just be happy with your life.
And I completely just took theopposite approach and you know
I'm sure it probably scared myparents a lot, thinking like
this girl is crazy, but it'sbeen a wild ride and I guess you
only get one life to live, sogot to make it interesting.
Meghan (06:29):
When I think of having a
mentor, it's usually someone
that's older than me and I knowit's hard to believe but I am
older than Brittany but she'sabsolutely my mentor, like just
so driven, and definitelysomeone I look to for advice.
So everything she said Iabsolutely back up.
Oh, that's sweet, Thank you.
(06:53):
Just a little bit of a happymoment, but we're mostly going
to be joshing each other.
So what should our listenersexpect from Fearlessly Female?
Brittany (07:04):
Well, I would say
definitely unlicensed therapy
without the $200.
So you're welcome, tune in andget your favorite drink with you
, and you don't have to sendthat in for claims for
reimbursement.
Meghan (07:15):
I think that would be
awesome if we could just like
put that as our missionstatement, though we did really
come up with something great.
So, really, our vision is forthe world to embrace women
living unapologetically, and ourvision is to create a network
of women that empowers them tolean into their femininity,
embrace their unique gifts andskill sets, to live through life
(07:36):
their true, authentic selvesunapologetically and lift other
women up.
But, quite frankly, brittanysaid it unlicensed therapy
without the $200, pretty simple.
Brittany (07:51):
Oh my gosh.
I think we touched on a littlebit earlier on how we're going
to do it, so I think we'llprobably just expand our
experiences in the laterepisodes of just not conforming
with normal things women tend toput up with whether it's in
relationships, work environments, traditional standards of
having to come home, cook cleanfor your husband.
(08:14):
I don't do any of that, notthat I can't I, just I'm better
at running other parts of ourlife.
So we've kind of divvied up ourstrengths and weaknesses
accordingly.
Meghan (08:26):
Well, I think, really
diving into that right I feel
like I do some more of thoselike traditional norms for women
, but talking about that andwhat it looks like and just
really diving into thoseexperiences and how we had those
conversations- yeah, I thinkwe'll probably touch on.
Brittany (08:46):
You know, like some
some fun stuff, some business
stuff, some personal stuff,Probably some bad stuff.
Meghan (08:52):
That way y'all can learn
.
Brittany (08:55):
You get the real
uncensored version.
Meghan (08:57):
Yeah, A bit of
everything to encourage you
every week.
So close out Brittany.
How should they get a hold ofus?
Stay involved, talk with us,and when should they expect the
next shit show?

want to evolve this podcast.
We'd love your input.
We're looking to have guestspeakers as well, but what you
need to hear about and whatyou're struggling with, we've,
(09:51):
between the two of us, probablytackled it.

experiences and how we were ableto get past it.

fearlessly female and why youshould listen.
