really like him? You know we're you surprised, completely surprised.

Speaker 2 (02:57):
The perfume was the biggest surprise. Atory it wouldn't be,
I said to myself. He gave me perfume the last
three years, so I know I won't give me any perfume.

Speaker 1 (03:04):
Niggah.

Speaker 4 (03:05):
So I told Doc Devil I bought that perfume. I
told him you'd figured it that way, so I knew
perfume would surprise you.

Speaker 2 (03:11):
And the perse it's just beautiful, perfect.

Speaker 4 (03:13):
Yeah, I picked it out myself.

Speaker 2 (03:14):

to wear brown with it'd see, and black purse would

god and anything red, green, purple, and orange.

Speaker 2 (03:25):
I love it.

Speaker 4 (03:25):
Boy, This robe sure is a knockout. You like a
millionaire and silk robe. Never had a silk.

Speaker 2 (03:31):
One before it becomes you dairy.

Speaker 4 (03:32):
How do you know I wanted a silk robe? You
didn't swipe one of them letters I wrote, Santa Claus?

Speaker 2 (03:36):
Did you if you mean those little notes that said
Santa Baby, bring me a silk robe that you left
tinder the shower curtain and paste it on my compact
mirror and under your plate at breakfast. No, I never
noticed them.

Speaker 4 (03:48):
Just shows to go. You if when two people live
together as long as we have, you can read my mind.

Speaker 2 (03:52):

Speaker 4 (04:02):

Speaker 2 (04:02):
But do you think you should spend the money? You know,
you spend so much on me.

Speaker 1 (04:05):
Forget it.

Speaker 4 (04:05):
Money is no objection. What's money? Besides? I got the
door all saved up for this.

Speaker 2 (04:10):
Well, there's some wonderful places to eat.

Speaker 4 (04:12):
You just picked the place that's all. Pierre's, the sump Room,
the Riots Vista, how about the snark room down at
Carol's restaurant.

Speaker 2 (04:19):
Well, it ought to be someplace so special. I think
I'll get the paper and look through the ad.

Speaker 4 (04:24):
Look God for the Christmas tree, you all, I see it.

Speaker 2 (04:27):
You know, I think we should have put this tree
in the corner there McGain, instead about in the middle
of the floor like this it's.

Speaker 4 (04:31):
Too pretty to stick away in the corner. I don't
want anybody to miss this tree.

Speaker 2 (04:35):
No one's missed it so far. Everyone's bumped into it
at least once.

Speaker 4 (04:38):

back on, they always say it's a beautiful tree.

You notice you say you bag any place, doctor Haski.

Speaker 4 (05:05):
That's a beautiful tree, Molly. In fact, your whole house
looks pretty, all the Christmas decorations and everything.

Speaker 3 (05:11):

There are a lot of good places to eat.

Speaker 4 (05:25):
The swankiest place in town, of course, is that new
English spot Marlborough House.

Speaker 2 (05:29):
Oh, I heard Missus McDonald, the president of the Third
National Bank's wife tell a rob it. They say it's great.

Speaker 4 (05:34):
Oh, it's good enough for the maker's wife. It's none
too good for us to see. You know anybody there, Doc, Yeah,
Miss Callahan and I eat out there quite often.

Speaker 3 (05:42):
No, Lord Cobbleton, very well, Lord Cobbleton.

Speaker 2 (05:44):
He's the major d mention my name.

Speaker 4 (05:47):
He'll give you a good table where in the kitchen.
Oh well, that's what Doc considers a good table, right
next to the roast b right docky.

Speaker 1 (05:54):
As a matter of fact, duck tail.

Speaker 4 (05:56):
When I'm sitting across the table from Miss Callahan, with
the candlelight.

Speaker 1 (05:59):
And soft music, I don't much notice what I'm needing.
A likely story.

Speaker 2 (06:03):
She's a pretty girl, doctor Molly.

Speaker 4 (06:05):
If you could have seen her out there the other
night in a new blue formal.

Speaker 2 (06:10):
Formal. She wears your formal to dinner.

Speaker 4 (06:13):
Oh sure everyone dresses for dinner at the Marlborough.

Speaker 1 (06:16):
Oh you'll love it out there. Well, I gotta get moving, kids,
I'm picking Darris up in twenty minutes.

Speaker 4 (06:22):
We're going down to beju Yeah, what's you gonna say?
What's the main feature? Her beautiful blue eye, Oh, merry
Christmas kid song.

Speaker 2 (06:30):
Well, I think the love bug has getten a big
chunk out of the doctor. Gag.

Speaker 4 (06:34):
Yeah, you'll never miss a kidd on. Hey, that Marlborough
sounds like quite a joint, you know. Don't say I
never take you out, kidd'll because this is your night wonderful.
A'll go upstairs and get out my TUTSI I don't
know that.

Speaker 2 (06:44):
Sounds awfully stuffy to make the game. It's only five o'clock.
Blast a while. Let's think of another place.

Speaker 4 (06:49):
Any place at all, to see you. Just name it,
and by George, we'll.

Speaker 3 (06:52):
Have it.

Speaker 1 (07:02):
Back to wistful Vista in a minute. The tradition of
religious freedom and of religious worship in America goes back
to the very founding of our country. The cornerstone of
our declaration of Independence is a statement that all men
are endowed by their creator with certain inalienable rights. So,
in these days of world crisis, when our nation and

(07:22):
all its citizens need spiritual strength and guidance, all of
us should think again of what religion means to us
and to our country. More than anything else, it is
religious faith that protects our families, our homes, and our nations.
It is religious faith that makes our way of life possible,
and it is religious faith that makes that way of
life worthwhile. The churches of America symbolize the belief that

(07:45):
through community worship we can gain the moral strength and
courage to lead a good life. Wherever you are, whatever
your faith may be, be sure to attend and support
the church or synagogue of your choice. Take your friends
and neighbors with you to church or synagogue. Life their
life with faith. Bring them to worship this week.

Speaker 4 (08:12):
What about that new steak and chops place out on
the highway, what do they call it?

Speaker 2 (08:15):
The Chappa Daryl? Yeah, I don't know. That's pretty far out.
Traffic's probably awful bad too.

Speaker 3 (08:20):
Oh. I know?

Speaker 4 (08:21):
What about the surface room with the plaza. That's a
popular spot.

Speaker 3 (08:24):
You know.

Speaker 4 (08:24):
The waiters wear tom suits and the major d wears
a top hat and cracks a whip.

Speaker 2 (08:28):
Pretty it's noisy there, isn't it. I don't care much
for dinner music played on the Coliita either. I'll tell
you what. Let's make it the rich distance the sumprooms.

Speaker 4 (08:38):
Well with me. You know, this is your presence. Their
food is the best in town, and the service is good.

Speaker 2 (08:42):
We could dance a little.

Speaker 4 (08:43):
We can dance all nine if you want to. This
is your night, Oh wonderful.

Speaker 2 (08:47):
Stir up the fire a little wigain.

Speaker 4 (08:48):
I'll put another log on it. I don't want to
keep them out.

Speaker 2 (08:54):
Nothing like a fire in the fireplace. Isn't it pretty?

Speaker 4 (08:57):
Like I say, everything's going to be just the way
you want it tonight, mom ah an. I won't argue
with the head waiter, won't make snide cracks about the food.
I'll even tip the hat check girl without beefing. And
we'll take a taxicab both ways.

Speaker 2 (09:09):
How'll that wonderful?

Speaker 4 (09:10):
I just want to make this a perfect Christmas for you.

Speaker 2 (09:12):
It is a perfect Christmas day. You're the sweetest husband
any group. So points killer. Come in.

Speaker 3 (09:20):
Merry Christmas, coach, No, the.

Speaker 2 (09:22):
Same you, and Merry Christmas, mister Wimple, come.

Speaker 3 (09:24):
In your house, fixture christmasy. I love an open scius.

Speaker 4 (09:29):
No by here, let me take that big package off
your hands.

Speaker 3 (09:32):
Oh thank you, miss Simsie. I'm sorry I'm so late
with your Christmas Christmas.

Speaker 2 (09:36):
Oh no, you didn't need to bother, mister Wimple.

Speaker 4 (09:38):
Oh no, boy, you didn't have to buy us anything.

Speaker 3 (09:40):
Well, You've both been so nice to me, letting me
stay here while my wife was away and everything. I
just wanted to bring you a small token.

Speaker 4 (09:48):
A small token, he says. Look at the size of
this box. William Molly from the silver shop too, won't
get the scissors.

Speaker 3 (09:53):
Oh that isn't for you. That box is a gift
my birdwatchers group just gave me. I haven't had a
chance to here. I have your present here somewhere. Oh
did I've had it right here in my desk pocket?

Speaker 2 (10:07):
Oh well, don't worry.

Speaker 4 (10:08):
I mean I must have dropped them in some place.

Speaker 3 (10:11):
They were the cutest miniature salt and type of shakers,
cheuty little eagles. The one with a bald head was
the salt. Oh life feel terrible?

Speaker 4 (10:20):
Oh so do I? From the size of this box.
I mean, I mean well, I feel bad too, losing out.
I'm a fascinating gift, like a wall ahead of salt shaker.

Speaker 2 (10:27):
Maybe they'll turn out I look at home, because surely didn't.

Speaker 4 (10:30):
Yeah, I bring them by any time.

Speaker 3 (10:31):
One.

Speaker 4 (10:31):
Don't hurry. We're getting ready to get dressed and I'm
gloved right now. Anyhow, I'm taking Molly ouf the Christmas dinner.

Speaker 2 (10:36):
We're gonna get all dressed up and go to the
sump room. Mister River.

Speaker 3 (10:39):
Oh, that's a wonderful place and very popular too.

Speaker 4 (10:43):
I only take my wife for the best spots.

Speaker 3 (10:44):
Of course, I won't keep you because we should get started.
I passed through on my way over here, and the
lobby is jammed. People are waiting clear out on the side.

Speaker 2 (10:52):
Wha.

Speaker 3 (10:53):
Really, you won't have to wait more than a half hours, though,
because when they're crowded. Likes that the weights work very
fast and they rush the customers to pretty quickly.

Speaker 2 (11:01):
It's all they do. Huh. We've never been there when
they were really crowded.

Speaker 3 (11:05):
We should watch out for the little jumpy waited with
a bird head. He snatches your plate when you get
up to them. Well, have a pleasant dinner and marry Christmas.

Speaker 4 (11:14):
Oh thanks mallam, Thanks mister Wimple, thank you.

Speaker 2 (11:18):
I didn't want to go to the sump room anyhow,
you need it.

Speaker 4 (11:21):
Plenty of better places than Tom Eathan getting your plate
yanked out from on you just because you get up
to dance by a egro waiter. Of course, there are hand.

Speaker 1 (11:28):
Me that paper.

Speaker 4 (11:29):
I'll pick out the perfect spot because for you took
tea on.

Speaker 2 (11:31):
You won't need the paper dairy. I know, just the
play good good. I've been thinking about it all afternoon,
and there's only one place I want to be this
Christmas evening. Just name it right here at my own
fireside with you.

Speaker 4 (11:45):
Yeah, but I promise to take you while I mean, Judy,
see my life. That's swell.

Speaker 2 (11:51):
I'll call a delicateation an order some sandwichar goodness, put
another log on the fire, don'kay ah, what a wonderful Christmas.
