Doctor Adam Starks.

Speaker 2 (00:47):
Welcome to Fostering Success with Doctor Adam Starks. This episode
we are talking about the right time for success. And
what I love about this episode is it's shortened and
I think you will appreciate that too. The right time
is whenever you say it is. Think about that. Experts

(01:09):
will always tell you. You probably have people telling you, you know,
in your life, what you're good at, what you're not
so good at, and you know they always have it
unsolicited advice for you about what you should be doing. Look,
none of that matters. You decide when it's the right
time for you, and that's the healthiest mindset that you

(01:31):
can achieve. As I've explained in previous episodes, we've tried
to do things to satisfy others. We've always criticized ourselves.
But you are empowered in this one precious gift of
life to determine what you want to do with it.
So the right time can be now, it can also

(01:53):
be five years from now, with the caveat that you
might be procrastinating if it's five years from now, if
you know what you want to do, and the information
is there for the steps that you need to take,
and we'll go over that in another episode in the
not too far distant future. But you get to determine

(02:15):
when you want to make that move. And sometimes you
may have to get some certifications. So if you're an
electrician or a plumber, you have to go through that
journeyman's phase, and you have to go through a bunch
of other steps before you can get that certification and
that license, and then you start off on your own. Congratulations,

(02:39):
you're a business owner or you are a certified you know,
electrician or plumber or whatever it is you want to be.
It could be a life coach, but whatever it is,
you're going to have to take the necessary steps to
get there, or you're going to hurt your credibility. So,
going back to what I said about time, if you

(03:01):
are listening to this episode, I hope I inspire you
to determine that time is now. It is time to
take stock of your past, present, and future and determine
that now is the time for change. Now you are
able to be successful, and you can't just go out

(03:24):
there and say, well, I've been working this nine to five,
I've been going to my cubicle for two years, five years,
ten years, whatever it may be, and then decide that
you are going to be a writer or an author.
You can start there, and you can take steps to
get there, but you don't just want to quit what

(03:46):
you're doing right now, especially if that's sustaining you, paying
your rent, your utilities. For me, I have children. Now,
if my wife wasn't as successful as she was, I
may still be working in a cubicle. So there's trade offs,
there's give and take all, right, especially if you have
a spouse involved. If you're single. Obviously, this decision is

(04:10):
a lot easier to make because not so many people
will be impacted by your decision. Whether it's positive or negative. Now,
for me, I know I'm heading in a positive direction,
but it took me a while to get there. And
for you, you may still be on the fence all right,
and there's something there holding you back, and that is

(04:32):
something that we will have to work through. And if
you've listened to the first ten episodes already, you'll know
that you are getting the mental tools in place to
make the right decision, whatever that may be. And for me,
I have to respect it, but I am not going
to judge you based on when you feel the time

(04:55):
is right. Only you can make that decision and you
should be the only one in power to make that decision.
When you are ready, I will be here or there
will be another podcast to listen to help you get
to that point. Until next time, thank you for listening
to Fostering Success.
