Atlanta was wild this weekend. Joey Logano grabbed the Busch Light Pole Award with a blazing 30.979-second lap at 178.96 mph, marking his third career pole at Atlanta—but that wasn’t the headline.
Chase Elliott stole the show in the Quaker State 400, leading 41 laps and edging out Brad Keselowski by just 0.168 seconds to score his first win of the 2025 season and the 20th of his Cup career. It was an intense race with 46 lead changes among 13 drivers, 10 cautions for 68 laps, and an average speed of 111.79 mph.
That win snapped a 44-race winless streak for Elliott and made a big splash in the playoff picture—he now has five playoff points and sits fifth in the standings, just 37 points behind William Byron. And it’s not like he came out of nowhere—Elliott had already put up 13 top-5s and finished top-20 in all 17 races leading into Atlanta. This just solidified his status as a real threat.
We also hit the latest in the Truck and Xfinity Series, highlight some rising stars and first-time winners, and break down how celebrity ownership and ongoing charter talks are shaping the sport.
To wrap it all up, we look ahead to the Chicago Street Course—its unique layout, the chaos weather could bring, and a few predictions as the playoff pressure continues to rise.
